I'm no expert in this story but from what I've read/been told ZeroVert was just a scam pump and dump coin. And he is no longer fully associated with VTC, just one of the creators. He expressed interest to help recently, since supposedly he still loves Vertcoin; but allegedly he has created about three pump and dump scam coins before bringing back Zcoin (same code as the original Zerocoin).
Ehhhh he probably watched completely transparent branded Dash/Dark explode after he beat them to confidential transactions. In addition to their bugscammine & massively cutting inflation post social contract & said "fuck it. I'm gonna get rich." Guess I shouldn't blame him too much. I've poked around and saw reference to Vert doing the first atomic crosschain transactions with litecoin but couldn't find much else. Any idea who the current devs are and if there is truth to the rumor? The current devs are listed on the ANN and also https://vertcoin.org/wp/the-team/Why no real world names for the devs? Who are they really? Are they trying to hide behind psyudonames? Looks sketchy. Can we have your real world name ? We have no ICO and no premine , and we aren't paid for being devs . Third thread is the charm... * jwinterm crosses fingers  I am liking the latest direction of the coin but i am still kind of mad at the creator of this coin because they burned me on about $10,000 when they where vertpay (or something like that)... it was a paypal alternative, then they switched to a crypto coin and promised to transfer our balances to this new coin but the form always gave an error when trying to transfer your funds. So i feel i cant get involved with this coin after a deal like i had in the past. Burn me once, shame on me... Good luck tho. They are no longer involved in vertcoin |

Sure. It was very slow to begin with. I was wondering if something had gone wrong, but eventually it gained speed.
By the way, is my conf file correct, do i need the block_nTime=1317972665 and block_nNonce=2084524493 ? I copied it off some webpage.
You shouldn't have to mess with anything in the conf file if you are just syncing the wallet . It downloads the headers first so it might take a bit longer to get going, but it's only around 2gbs so it won't take up too much space . Yeah i know, I used to gpu solomine scrypt coins a few years ago, so im no noob, just a bit inexperienced with these non-scrypt coins Thinking of poolmining vertcoin. If someone could please answer my question it would be much appreciated. What are you trying to do ? |

Very suspicious though this has continued for as long as i can remember and although i make a lot of money from it, i feel sorry for the people with genuine interest in the coin like i had years ago. It is also killing the coin, volume, and interest. Im getting bored and its not as profitable because its becoming obvious to a lot of people. So for the ones that don't know... do that.
I believe the Dev with some close friends purposely keep manipulating the coin and inside trading, because this coin should been 100k sats by now.
I also have seen a 70 bitcoin sell/dump today very suspicious have not seen such a sell in a long time... that was either the Dev and friends selling the coins and repeating the pump and dump rinse, constantly, taking it further because of the news with LTC ( which is nothing big really ). Or poloniex is delisting VERT and selling their stash via their corrupt inside trading tactics.
The future of this coin is either 100,000 sats then crash straight to 60,000 then slowly work its way to the moon crashing half price throughout. Or delisted from Poloniex forgotten about an worthless in one year from now.
