21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Permanently keeping the 1MB (anti-spam) restriction is a great idea ... on: February 06, 2015, 06:26:57 PM
I do believe that Bitcoin can be used as a core backbone to link a variety of other more specialized (maybe even localized) systems via the use of sidechains and other technologies.

And this is a point that I have been trying to make (we don't need to put every single transaction in the world into one blockchain).

I agree and thats why we will have sidechains.
22  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is bitcoin mining profitable ? on: February 06, 2015, 06:22:24 PM
Hi!
I'm new in the "bitcoin world" and I want to know if the bitcoin mining really worth a try.
because I'm from Syria (please don't accuse me of being ISIS it's really insulting) and I can't buy any hardware to mine so I have to use a cloud service .
I'm an IT engineer and worked for a few months as a web developer and manged to earn about $5000 , so do you know if there is any good service that I can use?
And do you think that I might be able to get $500 of bitcoin every month if I use $5000 to buy enough GHS?
I would really appreciate some good information, Thanks.

dont, just buy btc. Mining is not for individual but corporations. And cloud minings are all scams.

23  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Jan 27th to Feb 11 (-5.73%) to (+0.09%) on: February 06, 2015, 06:16:29 PM
It's gonna be tough all round with BTC holding in the low $200's and diff looking like it's going up again  Sad

Its even tougher for ppl holding their miners hoping to get ROI.

Phillipma's opinion does not count because he got "free" electricity with his rent. I feel bad for ppl who just bought some miners tho....
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 06, 2015, 06:11:37 PM
If I ever go insane and suggest increasing the 21 million coin limit, please put me on your ignore list.

I will remind everybody again of Satoshi's second public post where he talked about scalability:

Quote
Long before the network gets anywhere near as large as that, it would be safe for users to use Simplified Payment Verification (section Cool to check for double spending, which only requires having the chain of block headers, or about 12KB per day. Only people trying to create new coins would need to run network nodes. At first, most users would run network nodes, but as the network grows beyond a certain point, it would be left more and more to specialists with server farms of specialized hardware. A server farm would only need to have one node on the network and the rest of the LAN connects with that one node.

The bandwidth might not be as prohibitive as you think. A typical transaction would be about 400 bytes (ECC is nicely compact). Each transaction has to be broadcast twice, so lets say 1KB per transaction. Visa processed 37 billion transactions in FY2008, or an average of 100 million transactions per day. That many transactions would take 100GB of bandwidth, or the size of 12 DVD or 2 HD quality movies, or about $18 worth of bandwidth at current prices.
If the network were to get that big, it would take several years, and by then, sending 2 HD movies over the Internet would probably not seem like a big deal.

Satoshi Nakamoto

If you didn't do your homework and thought that Bitcoin == 1MB blocks forever, well, that's your fault.

I signed up for a Bitcoin that would scale.

Mr. Andresen i'm unable to find this original source of satoshi. You like to quote him without providing a link to the source, don't you?

I can pull satoshi quotes out of my ass too. If you can't link to the original post it's not a legit quote. Please provide a link to the original source you try to quote ASAP.

Did you not attend university? Did you not learn how to quote? Quotes without unambiguous reference to the original text are no quotes at all.

Welcome to my ignore, retard.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 06, 2015, 04:56:01 PM
Not finding a solution is out of the question. Period.

Just don't create more problems.

while ignoring the current problems? Nice.

Lucky the world didnt follow your advice otherwise we would still transport goods with camel.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:49:00 PM
OK. How is this related with my cup of coffee I'm trying to buy?

The whole cup of coffee thing was never my main point at all but in any case I am sure that you are familiar with "vouchers" (or "coupons") for shopping, restaurants, etc. (and yes maybe even your cup of coffee).

If ppl trade vouchers what dose it mean? Thats right its a currency.

You really think ppl here would take you serious for such lack of basic knowledge?

My guess is you just want to avoid calling it "coins" as much as possible and failed terribly.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:47:15 PM
Aiya, a mom joke. Has not seen it for a while, Are JokesRUs having a sale ?

No. That was a genuine advice to stay away of the discussion if you can't contribute anything valuable. And now go, baby, go.

and you do?

Disagreeing equals " no contribution" now?

Nice, a step from calling it trolling i guess.

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:42:43 PM
It doesn't become an altcoin if it doesn't work like a "currency" (i.e. allow for easy transfer of funds for example).

Are funds not currency?

Do you think that "houses are currency"?

Yet they are a "store of funds" and they can be "transferred" (perhaps I should have used the word *value* instead though).

LOL at your nonsense, using bitcoin blockchain to carry deeds suddenly means "houses are currency"

Also, curreny is just a medium of exchanging value. Stop making yourself looks bad. You live in China, you should know there was time when ppl use rice as currency.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:40:52 PM
would you stop spamming new threads? or you're just an attention whore now?

He raises valid questions.

Btw, go home, baby. Your mom has called you.

Aiya, a mom joke. Has not seen it for a while, Are JokesRUs having a sale ? lol the irony in your attempt to insult.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:30:09 PM
Oh really? Then go to Altcoin discussion then. You keep bringing this shit up everytime. Its borderline spamming now.

You are more than welcome to ignore this topic and stop wasting your time posting here.

31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:27:59 PM
Talk is cheap, do it, and publish your altcoins and let ppl make their choice. Otherwise, this thread is another spam.

I have *no intention of making a coin at all* (so your challenge is rather pointless).

Oh really? Then go to Altcoin discussion then. You keep bringing this shit up everytime. Its borderline spamming now.

As for government not allowing one place for all asset. Speak for yourself, why did you move to China? you dont like living in a free world?

You dont have to convince ppl. You do what you feel is right to you. The more you talk nonsense here, the worse you sound. I met ppl like you since I joined Gentoo project in 2000s, all kind of shitty debates no real work. You dont like it, fork it and make your own.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the constant push to have only the one blockchain? on: February 06, 2015, 04:19:28 PM
This shit is getting ridiculous. Ok you want to another blockchain? head over to Alt and stay there. Why keep making threads in this section. Obviously you just want a complete separate altcoin then insert " trustless system to transfer between them" as some sort of holy grail.

Sad to see bitcoiners decided to go bear and still want to stay relevant by such "innovation"

Talk is cheap, do it, and publish your altcoins and let ppl make their choice. Otherwise, this thread is another spam.
33  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How did I solve 1 Block this quick? on: February 06, 2015, 05:48:07 AM
Well, maybe I'll let them keep a few bitcoins and let them know I found them, but there will be one hell of a transaction fee for my services.  Or if I found a wallet with something like 47,000 bitcoins in it, I'll tell the owner I just decided to retire from PC repair work, and their computer is my last job, and it's free.

This is unlikely to happen, most of the people who call me for PC repair are too ignorant to understand the concept of Bitcoins.

And finding nude photos on a computer is actually pretty rare for me.  I usually spend little to no time looking through their photos, I just Copy and Paste the photo folders to a hard drive in my testing PC and them back their drive after the work is finished so I can save them from the non-running PC and be their hero.

Most photos I do see in the folders are something like 300 photos of their 3 year old little brat at the park, or their aunt Wanda's trip to the Spam festival.  I have no interest in looking at them.

Did you suffer child abuse by your scumbag mom? What a shame she did not have an abortion.

Bitchick and BitchickHubby?

They're not posting here for few months now
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is amomg us on: February 04, 2015, 09:34:44 PM
My theory: Satoshi is among us. He's running some kind of bitcoin business e.g. exchange.
I often see questions asking why Satoshi didn't spend his bitcoins.
This is perfect explanation: he didn't, because he's profiting from the fact these bitcoins remain unspend.
What do you think?

I don't think he is running an exchange , but maybe he has an alt account and participates here in the forum.

Well that's obvious and for sure of course . How he will make a big project like Bitcoin then just let it go ? He won't . and for some reasons I still think that Theymos know Satoshi Face to face , or at least know him on the internet for a long long time .

~ Madness

LOL noobs do you know Theymos was just a student (probably still is) when he created this forum? Dont be stupid now.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beheadings and Bitcoin on: February 04, 2015, 09:12:29 PM
OP is desperate to spread FUD.... lol made a fool of himself instead.
37  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Jan 27th to Feb 11 (-5.73%) to (+0.09%) on: February 03, 2015, 03:34:45 PM
Oh HAI,

with your track recording, i'm not surprised at all at your " guesstimate"

In fact, my data shows, whenever philipma predict the difficulty, i will just bet the opposite.

I think you should jump start and predict the next difficulty 18 days from now.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevii will become one of great capitalist barons of this century! on: January 27, 2015, 02:46:56 PM
400 billion means $20,000 per Bitcoin , I highly doubt that it can be truth, We can hardly keep it above $1,000,not even $300.

WallStreet money can move mountains  Wink

But 400bn market cap is beyond delusional. People are expecting too much from Bitcoin.

It will never replace fiat, some can't seem to understand that. Bitcoin will only function as optional payment method.

They are saying that 400bn is if it becomes a payment method replacing services like Western Union, etc...

That's assuming that BitCoin is the only payment option.....
That is not true.

Look here if you want to make some calculations instead of babbling uneducated guesses.
http://worldbitcoinnetwork.com/BitcoinPriceModel-Alpha.html

All predictions are uneducated guesses, I've heard gold and silver bugs going off for years about how the price is going to explode tomorrow.
I don't think, you have any idea what "educated guess" means.
You fail on so many levels. Doesn't that hurt?

Lots of haters around here. Bitcoin is not only a great technology but also a great psychological proof of how pathetic human being is. I see "sour grapes" all among these idiots. Its weird to see clearly why human bound to wars and kill each others ..... simply cant stand seeing others getting ahead.

Soon China and US will have war one day, you'll see.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevii will become one of great capitalist barons of this century! on: January 27, 2015, 02:44:05 PM
I was so amazed to see their interview today after they presented their ETF project!

They said if bitcoin market cap would be 400 billion if it becomes major among money transfer(visa, mastercard).

marketcap would be in trillions if it disrupts Gold..

They hold 1% of all bitcoin total supply!

They are taking bitcoin to wall street and comply with regulations to create the first ever ETF for bitcoin so all the banks and wall street major billionaires can now invest in bitcoin..

In the coming decentralized world which will be made up of key technologies like drones, 3d printing, autonomous agents we can be sure that the blockchain technology will be like how electricity was to the 20th century...

bitcoin will be the token of value in future...

they will be the masters of decentralized revolution!

If they were smart they would have sold when Bitcoin hit $1000, if they are still holding after that then they aren't good venture capitalists.

theyre convinced a btc will be worth $40,000 so why would they sell for $1000 ?

they do come across like assholes in that movie  but did zuckerberg  really steal their idea for facebook and develop it himself  ? Cheesy

a judge must have believed they had some rights  if they got $65,000,000 in compensation but i dont know the specifics .....

15 mill in cash, 40 mill in shares (1.2 million shares)

Its actually worth +400mill now
40  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to collect his keys, how would he do it? on: January 27, 2015, 06:36:44 AM
But Satoshi was just a boy and he didn't take the key with him.

The key, huh?

Bitcoiners better hope that "key" isn't lost. That would make Satoshi's stash value-less, wouldn't it?

If the key is lost and Satoshi's million-BTC stash becomes value-less, Biycoiners will be more than happy.

In Satoshi's own words, it makes everyone else's Bitcoins more valuable. Think of it as a donation to everyone else.

Think about the apple and the tree. If the tree doesn't have any value, then the apples won't have value. "Value" is a made up thing, it's pure perception. If people found out Satoshi's cache was value-less, perception-wise, then Bitcoin is value-less.

Losing private keys to Satoshi's coins do not make them value-less. It only makes them inaccessible.

Tomato / tomato....

I know, but the OP doesn't make any sense when he says "If people found out Satoshi's cache was value-less, perception-wise, then Bitcoin is value-less."

why would you expect a retard to make any sense?

Come on now
