21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XBC] BitcoinPlus 🌟Official Thread🌟官方公告 on: April 28, 2017, 08:45:22 PM
Thanks for the offers of donations but really there is no need. The website is based on drupal. As you can see the current template is simple and to the point. Its great for seo which has been XBC priority for the last year. Unique visitors arriving directly from google to the website is largest its ever been thanks to all the hard work and unique content. Now the content is at a good level the spare time we have can now be spent on slide shows, videos and we will be having a premium theme.

If you want to help XBC then just keep pestering merchants into accepting XBC. Keep pestering exchanges into accepting XBC. And keep spreading the word.

Re Slack - We have slack channel. Another team member runs it and will update when it is confirmed.

Good afternoon. I have a couple of questions.

I sent 0.3 xbc to my wallet for testing. After 100 blocks. Coins were not transferred to stake mode. Why?

Minimum stake age is 12 hours. Newly minted coins is 110 blocks.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitcoinPlus [XBC] Official Thread on: April 12, 2017, 08:57:02 PM
How about the android wallet, can it stake the 20%?

When we go live in the Coinomi Wallet no it will not be a staking mobile wallet. However Coinomi have stated several times they intend to allow Staking for POS wallets in the future. Coinomi are a very exciting company for XBC to be working with.

Hi guys,

I saw that someone already suggested to het XBC listed on PosWallet.
I want to emphasize this point:
- great way for people to stake without leaving your computer on
- another exchange that will gain popularity, I'm sure
- perfect advertising platform to reach people that are interested in PoS coins (you can advertise the new banner there)
- paid listing happens within 24 hours.

Are there plans for PosWallet support?

I agree. It should be considered. I don't know enough about the company behind it though.

On their terms page.

10. BSA / FinCEN

PoSWallet is in the process of registering with FinCEN as an MSB (Money Services Business). PoSWallet may be required to file details of account activity to this organization from time to time.

I'm not for one second suggesting POSwallet cannot be trusted. But I would never leave my coins on a 3rd party site like that. We have seen it too often in Crypto. Here one day. Gone the next. We will make contact and do some due diligance.

Hi,

BitcoinPlus XBC website https://bitcoinplus.org/ in my opinion has an old style design, I think is time to make a new website with a modern, dynamic and interactive design, inspired in the top five cryptocurrencies websites,  I'm sure it will attract more people and BitcoinPlus XBC deserve it.

I will be happy to make a donation for an new website project.   Wink

The design is factual rather than 'showing off'. It is easy to navigate and very easy to maintain. I've been following SEO for over a decade and honestly, Flashy websites do not get you more punters. Ease of use, mobile friendly, seo friendly, key word targeted is far more important. What would be nice is a good 'video hook' for the front page that will draw new users in. Bit of interaction. Maybe that can be the next competition.

I would link the banner towards Poloniex

https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_xbc

or

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-plus/

Most people visiting coinmarketcap have probably a poloniex account. This way they would know what to do ... buy $XBC

Some should reference the website. Some the exchange. There is no link to the XBC website or bitcointalk thread from Polo. However both are linked from the website. The website is where people go for information. We may even have a specific landing page for banner click throughs. Different banners may also have different click through urls depending on the banner topic. Its a case of putting Banner A against Banner B and finding the optimum.

interesting coin... how to connect to TOR network? I started wallet, and go to console and type "getinfo", the IP shown is 0.0.0.0, why not showing an onion address?

Current wallet only connects through TOR. Give it ten minutes and will show an onion address.

Hello  ,

I need help of BitcoinPlus community because I found an old wallet of 2014 on which there must be about 60 XBC,
have you a solution to recover them on the new wallet?

I know it's late but Maybe someone has a solution to help me.

thank you in advance.

Ah, maybe you could share your old client application and start running an alternative fork....SMILE....Maybe, there are others who can also benefit from the old chain....I don't know how much of the old chain was burnt in the exchange because I'm still new to this project but that's one idea....I apologize if it may be obtuse, but it's something.

https://bitcoinplus.org/history.php

Thanks for the link....To save me some time searching, is there a link to the specifications of the swap?  Was there a swap?  A fork?  If there was just a fork instead of a "swap and burn," couldn't these guys who have the older clients containing coins just update their client to access their coins?

The current BitcoinPlus coin has been running since May 2015. It is effectively a NEW coin. The current team arranged it so that coins on the old chain (old XBC) could be swapped on a 1 to 1 basis at Poloniex. All old coins were sent into Poloniex accounts. Any record that exists is held with Poloniex. The issue is now 2 years later there is no way of validating any coins on the old chain. Current XBC team do not hold a record of who held XBC in May 2015 or who has swapped and who hasn't swapped. The cut off was when Poloinex distributed the coins as they kindly handled everything for the XBC Team at the time.

Now that XBC has some value again it will attract people to come out of the woodwork claiming to have old coins without providing any proof and no way of providing proof without a working blockchain. Sadly some will be telling the truth and some not.

Just curious, what type of encryption does the GUI wallet use when i set up the passphrase?  Grin

I'll double check with the Dev and get back to you. Wouldn't want to give you bad info.

@ realbigs21024

Go and check the settings of your Windows firewall.
You need to open port 8884, either entirely or at least for the wallet application .exe-file!
Also check your internet router's firewall status, you may also have to enable port 8884 on your router,
(if port passthrough over Universal Plug'N'Play doesn't work)
and possibly even set a port-forwarding rule using port 8884 in your router and map all those packets
incoming at this port to the internal IP address of your computer in your home network.
If you need to select a protocol, i am not sure whether to use TCP or UDP, you can enable both or
test it out, which one it is.
You can also priorize this traffic in your router by marking it as a real-time application or using QoS
(quality of service) rules.

If it doesn't work then either, your internet provider may filter or censor certain traffic, i hope that's not the case.
Please report back if your wallet was able to establish connections to the bitcoinplus network.

Good to see you on here Kindhearted !

I will just add that as the XBC Wallet uses the TOR network it can take some time to get connections. Current node list can also be found
found on both blockexplorers. Easiest one is https://www.blockexperts.com/xbc#  Go to Peers and then Node List

If anyone has any recommendations for mining pools pm myself or any team member and we will contact them.

why no start your own mining pool Wink

LOL..erm because its a POS coin and the POW pays no rewards. Are you suggesting they start a pool where you mine for other coins and convert to XBC?Why?Other pools can already do this.

It is one of the most asked questions we get via email/pm. As we are led by the community getting mining pools to add XBC as a payout option is something we continue to do.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: New updates [XBC] BitcoinPlus 3.0 Official Thread on: February 06, 2017, 08:56:56 PM
Proof of work will pay a reward soon. It's at 267 votes and will be implemented accordingly.

Rushmybitcoin is referring to the Roadmap page where you can vote ideas up/down- http://www.bitcoinplus.org/roadmap.php Results there are only a guide for the XBC Team to work with.

What is clear is that the community wants to keep the 20% inflation rate for POS.

Roadmap will be updated with a fresh and updated options in due course.

The dedicated XBC blockexplorer may be temporarily down so you can still use blockexperts until issue is resolved.

BlockExplorer is back up and running. Thanks http://www.bitcoinplus.org/tools/blockexplorer.php

Don't worry...after Feb. 28 we will never have a delisting issue. If we were at risk which I don't believe we were we definitely won't be after the offense we are getting ready to go on. All 3 XBC team members are communicating several times daily and getting things done big league. Exchanges, domestic and international press, advertising, casino payments, technicals, and a lot more all being worked on daily.

We are on 3 exchanges already.Casino payments?I was under the impression we had cancelled the idea of working with casinos.

He means sponsoring merchants / casinos to adopt XBC. All part of increasing XBC user adoption.

any issues with connecting to xbc network?

Thanks in advance

Not this end. Both 24/7 Nodes up and running with 20+ connections. I've just started my personal wallet and it connected straight away.
Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for it to find connections.
thanks,it s weird though never had any problems with qt however still have no connections at all, any suggestion what could cause?

Was it working previously ? In which case could simply be a firewall issue ?

If not couple of things you can try. Make sure you have up to date nodes listed.
http://www.bitcoinplus.org/content/How_do_I_make_.conf_file_for_my_bitcoinplus_wallet.php

Failing that, you may need to delete the block chain file to get it restarted. I haven't done a blog post for that part yet but this site covers the basics.
