21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to see how many bitcoins I can get just by asking on: June 01, 2012, 05:45:28 PM
Getting no bitcoins from no one would render a positive result to the experience: you would get shocked by acknowledging that no one cared to send any.
But if you already received coins, then the experiment is completely bogged. It isn't any shocking.

How do you know what shocks me? The only thing shocking was the moment I got on my comp, waking up this morning, was when the transaction came in. I was shocked about that to be honest.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / 24 Hour BTC Auction: New dual core laptop computer on: June 01, 2012, 05:32:08 PM
My local Microcenter offers great deals on laptops.
They are limit 1 per household, usually being something nicer and nicer every time. Always $299.99-$324.99 + sales tax, These are in store deals only.
Since I do not need a laptop, I could buy the current special (Asus Pentium Dual Core for $299.99) for someone who does and ship to them. Total cost for me would be $324.74 USD with sales tax included.

Check it out here: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0386796

$324.74 would equate to around 62 Bitcoins, assuming an exchange rate of 5.25.

Start bidding at 65 to cover shipping costs.

I received one transaction of .00012345

26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Business Idea - Taxi service on: June 01, 2012, 08:02:36 AM
It's a good idea, but IMHO there are 2 things that you must do.

1) You should live in a city with a lot of BTC users.

2) You cannot put the "taxi" marker over your car. You have to became famous here and then give your telephone number. So the BTC users can call you directly.

or if any BTC user travels to my city I can host pick them up and take them to their hotel.

but anyway this is just dreams.

the world has serious issues right now.
27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Business Idea - Taxi service on: June 01, 2012, 08:01:00 AM
I imagine bitcoiners are not much into driving.

I can't begin to understand that statement. I can't speak for anyone else (except maybe Roger Ver who I know loves BMWs) but I have been drifting and street racing for years. If anything, I guess I should be a Bitcoin Taxi then. At least passengers would get a wild ride.

(I tried driving with a horse mask, it's just too difficult.)

well I supposed they were more into creating new currency.

Ok OP,

1)  So, you come on the forum looking for highly-skilled programmers to develop a website for you...no luck.

2)  Attitude quickly turns belligerent and you start talking about disharmony within the community.  Alright.

3)  Then, you want to be a taxi driver for BTC...OK.

4)  No response.

5)  Then, this thread is created.  Attitude quickly shifts again and the arrogance of the all-knowing emerges.

Note:  You registered less than 2 weeks ago.

So, a few possibilities emerge.  Since you claim you had known about BTC for months, my guess is that you either missed out on the June Bubble or lost quite a bit on the way down from it and are bitter.  Obviously, you didn't get in before the June bubble and escape with a handsome profit or you wouldn't be here bitching about the "little game" we're playing.

It's also possible you're just mentally unstable and are largely unaware of your apparent contradictions in personal intention.

A few other possibilities exist, but they aren't much brighter.

My advice:  Don't be so bitter.  When ASIC miners are released, if you act quick enough you will be able to catch another glorious opportunity to profit.  Don't be late to the bus 'cause it's going to be jam-packed.

ASIC miners. lol.

wtf are those?

GPUs are like busses.  They don't go very fast and they require a lot of energy, but they take you wherever you want to go, accommodate many people, and are appropriate for a variety of occasions.

FPGAs are like hybrids.  They still don't go very fast and accommodate fewer people, but they conserve energy and still are appropriate for a variety of occasions.

ASICs are like Ferraris.  They have one purpose and one purpose only -- to go fast and to be as efficient at doing this as possible.

so I assume they, like Ferrari engines, don't last long before needing expensive maintenance?

OP you have been warned, these guys are not joking so keep poking and soon you will find out how how we deal with "intelligent" people like you.

I'm all up for games.

Let's play.

Let me start off the game like -- take your warning and shove it.

Few extra grand in my pocket and a wealth of computer hardware knowledge obtained in the past year --> soooo stupid.

Get out before you get eaten alive.

you built some mediocre mining rigs and chatted with a few energy drink addicted college kids who are supported by the successes of their parents for the most part.

not impressed.

I built some mediocre mining rigs from scratch having never touched the inside of a computer before in my life.

I invested in precious metals (purchased with BTC) to add to my BTC investment.  Hence, I have created a small investment portfolio.

Because of BTC, I have now tasted the world's hottest pepper, have donated money to charity, have become more familiar with tax laws and other banking/financial legal jargon, have two Bitcoin condoms with which I can bang the incredibly hot girl I'm dating (after that, we can play naked Bitcoin ultimate frisbee), have ample heat during the long Midwest winter free of cost, have been paid for Bitcoin-related services and products, have conducted international business transactions in the middle of the night, and I'm basically guaranteed to be rich if Bitcoin really turns the mainstream corner.

Soooo stupid.

This.  This x100.

Every single piece of this paragraph is perfect.

Hey you dumbfuck OP.....I took an 11,000 BTC loan, collaterlalized with my epic mining farm and purchased a large equity stake in a 47 year old, highly profitable business....which coincidentally yields 20-25% per year.  That was pretty stupid, I know.

Hey Joint, where can I get some of those condoms??  Not that I need them, my wife lets me bang her bareback.....I just want to display them, having paid with a stupid game for nerds.

you cannot convince me of this junk. regardless of your pseudo success in this little game.

well if that crap goes up to $100 it may be worth it to mine with a BFL single that will take weeks to receive. and still, you might make only $40-$50 a day. What a joke. the government prints that in an amount of time so small, it cannot be measured. see, you are so blind with your game. that's exactly what they want.

Ok ok, you got me.  I'm interested.

1)  So, why are you here?

2)  ^^  HUH?!

are you paying any attention to the things that are going on in the world? or are you so far lost in this game they shove down your throat? you think bitcoin creators are looking out for your interests?? heck no, they have their interests in mind.. they're just selling this bridge to nowhere to the "little people". it's just a cleverly crafted scheme by the elites to keep you chasing dreams instead of seeing how they are completely robbing your life. they train you to deny it.

Faisal reminds me of the jealous kid on the block who never amount to anything and constantly jealous at the success of others.

I will send you free lollipops if it will turn your frown upside down, faisal.

what if truly you're the jealous one? too blind with logs in your eyes to see it?

Erm, cause Im the kid with the candy and you are not? Pretty obvious who is jealous.

Oh and Im perfectly happy with bitcoins in my eyes, thanks.

I think its time to play, lets-hunt-alter-ego-of-atlas-2012

keep your candy. It's retarded.

Check www.mtgox.com/orders.  Apparently people who have done/are doing the "big things" want a piece of candy, too.

Like I said, Bitcoin community is reminiscent of the good ole boys (fed reserve) who are screwing the little guy with hopes and dreams of being part of something revolutionary, but it's just the latest version Ponzi scheme.

which would be better, 1BTC or 5 mega millions lottery tickets?

I like this idea. A taxi service based on Bitcoins.
You know, give some transportation to the community.

How much interest would there be?

As a potential driver, I would much more trust and be willing to serve someone who is using bitcoins.

Traditional taxi services charge high because of the aggravation. Serving bitcoiners would not be aggravating, it would be a pleasure.

If there's interest in this, I would love to get it going.

Thinking about having computers in the cars just like the ones traditional taxi service users, but accepts Bitcoins exclusively!!
GLBSE company
Drivers in all the major cities of the world offering bargain prices

Is this a good idea or will it flop? I imagine bitcoiners are not much into driving. So let someone else do it while you focus on more important things in life!

You were saying?

Sorry that was my delusional personality. Don't pay attention to him. He actually thinks this world is a decent place to live in.. That's when he forgets its nothing but a crooked, rigged, fantasy land.

Thanks!  So are you.
