21  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the number of available bitcoins decreasing? on: May 04, 2016, 06:26:22 AM
Yes it is.

People always forget their passwords, send their money to the wrong address, get their computer broken etc etc...

The available number of bitcoins are decreasing every day.
I dont agree.... saying that bitcoins are decreasing is the same as saying number of lost bitcoins is higher then generated bitcoins. and its probably not.

Wait, wait. I dont think we are on the same page here.

Available bitcoins are the one's being mined now right? Right this moment. Yes it is decreasing. I have read that there is a limit to the maximum mined bitcoin so if there is a limit? then it will be depleted right?

Not exactly. There are 25 bitcoins created every 10 minutes. In a couple months, that will drop to 12.5 new bitcoins every 10 minutes. Then in four-ish years, it will drop to 6.25 new bitcoins every ten minutes, and so on every four years or so.

As you can see, it will take a very, very long time before the number of coins being "lost" ever surpasses new Bitcoin creation. We are nowhere near it now, and we won't be for the foreseeable future.

When the bitcoin becomes more valuable, people will take care of their bitcoin properly. So the lost coins will be fewer.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are down again? on: May 04, 2016, 06:25:00 AM
The price will up and down for the long term. But the trend is up. Today's price is higher than a year ago.
23  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: May 04, 2016, 06:23:47 AM
Selling Bitcoin is not the best option that you can do now and that is quite bad because there are a lot of people that is still using Bitcoin and they want to make profit.
But they must know that they can wait a really long time until the value will be more and that would be bad.

I mine some altcoins and convert to bitcoin. Then I use the bitcoin to buy something. I like the cirulation of bitcoin.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 Nano Modded Rom on: May 04, 2016, 06:22:24 AM
Say maybe ASUS and Gigabyte > XFX and Sapphire?

There is no difference between them, the only difference is the stick on the card and the after sale service.

That is correct Smiley

Regarding the 390 rom, will update OP this week for sure! "Been updating some other things first.."

That is great. We would like to see some updates on the R9 390. It is a great card, and needs some power saving.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: May 02, 2016, 06:10:22 AM
The bitcoin is still in the correction stage. It was pumped and dumped. So the price will be in the 0.015 to 0.018 for some time.

it only lasted like half a day and that stage which is just a small panic sell from newbies is over and we are back above $450 again.

anyways that has nothing to do with ethereum price.

I do not think there is a panic sell from newbies. That is from big whales, who want to keep the price down to get more cheap stakes.

Yes, it would benefit those with deep pockets more now to have a lower ETH price while the DAO offer is going on than it would have a month or so ago when ETH was peaking.
I like the fluctuation of ETH now, I just move my BTC to ETH, this is good for a day trader like me, as of today I have already made a decent profit during day trading. I hope this will continue so the traders will be benefited more.

The price of Ethereum is quite volatile. If you have great day trading skills, you will make some good profits.
26  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: May 02, 2016, 06:09:02 AM
I won't suggest to sell bitcoins at this time if you can afford to hold them, because bitcoin has good potential to pump in next 1-2 months that can increase your money.if you have any other source of income then hold the bitcoins till halving that is scheduled ~15 july.

I will do the same. The bitcoin price is still undervalued. It has not reached its full potential at this stage.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: May 02, 2016, 06:03:32 AM
But the Ethereum difficulty is still rising, and it is rising very fast. So in a few weeks, not many people will make profit.
The eth mining is still profitable for dig but by day by diff higer. we will see , what will we do...

That is true. The difficulty is another all time high today. So only the people with cheap electricity can mine next month.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: My BTC Prediction for 2016.. on: May 02, 2016, 05:54:24 AM
Im feeling we will reach surely above $600, all holders are now accumulating more, then dump when the price are high enough.
Yes actually and its my personal observation that bitcoin price gets very high around christmas and that is the actual time when I sell all my reserved bitcoins. You guys can note around 25th it will be around 600$ ( but just my observation ).

The price of btc will reach to a new level by the mid of 2016 . Also i think we are expecting major growth after halving and it will open new horizons for bitcoin

The price could only reach about $800 by the middle of 2016. It might reach an all time high some time next year.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are down again? on: May 02, 2016, 05:53:18 AM
Bitcoin is a glorious clusterfuck; you can go and check the value in the morning and see it is up from the previous day, then check back it at 5pm and it's gone down $5-$10, then check again at 8pm and its down a total of $35, and then you can check it the next morning and it's back up $40.

There is no real way to predict anything that will happen with the value, because it is just too damn volatile.

The price is still volatile in the short term, especially within a week, the price can go from $470 to $430 then $450.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: April 30, 2016, 07:36:31 AM
Ethereum is improving rapidly, but be careful with scammers/doublers because they are now targeting Eth coins.

This is a real mining location, real people, real equipment.
100% trusted

The Genesis mining has the real equipment. But we do not know if they have enough to support all the mining hashing.

I would love to participate though I'm in experience about mining but I need you guys to teach how to do the own thing. Could you pls?

There are quite a lot of information in the altcoin mining subforum. If you ask some questions, people will answer you.

Yes, that's correct but I was told I will have up to 800-1000USD to buy software if I want the mining to be profit and I can afford that now, not when I'm jobless. So, I'm looking a means for a profitable mining which I won't have to spend than electricity/internet bill.

The only software you need to buy is the Windows operating system. All other software is almost free.
31  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the number of available bitcoins decreasing? on: April 30, 2016, 07:29:32 AM
I think the number of available is increasing but when happening bitcoin halving it decreases because they hide many bitcoin amount so it decreasing because they hide it, and hold it

That is right. I hide many bitcoins, it is not on the market. So it will not increase the supply and suppress the price.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is hyping about bitcoin price in 2016 on: April 30, 2016, 07:28:08 AM
Bitcoin hype is due to the halving within the mid of this year. Now from the past week the price is increasing continuously, this also makes users hype more about this year.
The question is what will happen after the halving is done ? Will bitcoin fall sharp ?

it will all come down to how the rise is. people have been hyping about halving and a big rise (a bubble) for over six months now, but the price of bitcoin has been rising gradually from the lowest price of $190 to the current $450 and as we can see now, the fall backs are only temporary and small because of panic sells. so that would be the same in the future too.

Bank of American Merril Lynch did analysis of the value of bitcoin in 2013. It was determined to be $1200. Today, it  should be more.
33  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: April 27, 2016, 07:56:33 AM
I would sell at 500 usd. If it goes to 400 in the next few weeks, i would sell wait for a few months to sell.

Why taking a loss?
I also suggest that you wait of you want to sell your coins. The price is not still climbing and on its way to $500 and the price can hit it anytime soon. So just wait a little bit longer and you can sell.

Majority of people are waiting for bitcoin to reach $500 so that they can sell their coins, and price is climbing up slowly now and we can expect this price very soon.

I am waiting for the bitcoin to reach $500. But I do not care much about the price as I will hold for long term.
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falling under 300 again on: April 27, 2016, 07:55:10 AM
I don't think that the bitcoin price will crash so much like $300, maybe it will happen once or twice until the halving is reached but it would be for short time, I'm expecting a higher rate like $600.

Who knows...Price is volatile enough that when someone with large capital do a buy or sell, price movement is seen..Though by now the chance of going to below $300 is still very small...But it's true that after the halving, there might be a price drop might be minimal also..

Both the sides have huge walls that need to be broken in order for this price to happen, and even $600...
For the buy side, you need huge cash as well as for the sell side, you will need a lot of BTC for that to happen, and according to me, whales are smart enough to know they must not take such steps whilst they are still making lots and lots of money even with the stable markets...

The whales are making a lot of money at the moment. They sell at $430 and buy at $410. That is easy money for them.

that's depend it's a sum zero game, some of them are feeding other whales, so not all of them are making money many are losing between each other

and thus that are making money, are losing some in other waves of dumping

It is negative sum game. They have to pay exchange fees. But I think most big whales will win from smaller ones.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is hyping about bitcoin price in 2016 on: April 27, 2016, 07:53:46 AM
It seems like a very common rhetoric that the price is bound to increase, but somebody has to be thinking the opposite otherwise the price would have ballooned already.

I'm interested in hearing the argument against the price increase.

Even though the daily new supply of bitcoins gets reduced by 50%, the total amount of existing bitcoins increases. This dilutes the price per bitcoin, if there is no new demand.

In other words, Bitcoin is still inflationary even though inflation gets cut in half (to a more healthy ~4%).

The new demand is the key to the success of bitcoin. We need to find more users for the bitcoin. I use bitcoin.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: My BTC Prediction for 2016.. on: April 27, 2016, 07:52:36 AM
My prediction is around 700 USD before the end of the year. I think as a result of the halving the price will rise fairly significantly. I hope to see over 700 but I never like to make really, really outlandish predictions.

I think the 700 USD can happen in August or September. The end of the year price will be around $1100.
My prediction is that at the month of July we can expect the price to be $700 to $800 and after that it still rises and at the end of 2016 the price will be more than $1k, all that we need is patience till year end.

That could well happen. It depends on the mass adoption and also the implemntation of the block size increase.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: April 27, 2016, 07:51:06 AM
for tangible profit i would make forge of many asics otherwise its wasting time

That is right. We the home miners can only make some profit by using the GPU based miners. ASIC are for farms.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 290 problem on: April 25, 2016, 08:09:17 AM
The AMD catalyst 15.11 or 15.12 is very good for Etheruem mining, especially if you use the Claymore miners.
39  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: April 25, 2016, 08:05:24 AM
The bitcoin is in the long term up trend. So it is better not to sell it. When there is a big pump, we can sell.

We all are waiting for higher price at the time of halving so we can sell our coins and enjoy the profits, and now its just matter of few more months, so hold it for a while to earn extra profits.

I shall hold most of my bitcoins and wait for the price rise. I might make good profit later this year or early next year.

Everyone is hoping for the price hike at the time of halving and that is the reason they are not selling their coins at a moment, as saving can be more profitable in future.

That is right. I am also expecting the price will rise a lot during or after the halving, like what happened in 2013.
