21  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Video Game Addiction, a very real problem. on: October 02, 2019, 07:22:49 AM
It's the same as gambling. It plays with people's interest. Not all people will be addicted to video games, same way as not all will be addicted to gambling or sports. And it only becomes a problem if it affects a person's personal relationship with other people are their productivity. Proper time management and being responsible is basically the best and easiest solution if this ever becomes a problem.
22  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What to do about people who believe that stealing is ok on: October 02, 2019, 07:18:17 AM
Back in the old days it was acceptable. Remember when spartans use to encourage kids to steal food as a means of survival. That was back then though. Times change, laws are implemented and we don't live in a society like that anymore. Moral standards have bet set. A good hearted person will give you something if you just ask. Or you have to lesrn how to work for what you need. Before you consider stealing, think about those people that work their asses off, some with disability, just to get what they need.
23  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Journey to the Mars,Elon Musk vision! on: October 01, 2019, 12:27:20 PM
It seems elon musk is really serious in getting people into space. Can't help but admire this guy's vision and dedication. I just watched cosmos last night and i imagine how carl sagan would have reacted to what elon is doing and achieving right now. If only there were more of this guy in the world today.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: October 01, 2019, 09:27:20 AM
I think this topic is more on religious point of view. In some religion it is really taboo to gamble with money. That is why they think that gambling money is bad money. But, we are in a modern era now and gambling had became as a form of entertainment and even as a business.

You're right, though it also has a lot do with the fact that a lot of people have had their lives ruined by irresponsible gambling. That placed the act itself in a bad light. Being a responsible gambler should excempt you from people's judgment since it's your own money that you're spending. If you're stealing money to fund your gambling deeds, then that's the time it should count as dirty money.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I've taken my eye off bounty hunters comments on: October 01, 2019, 06:10:48 AM
If they only add some time to check each details from team to white papers and also roadmap and the legitimacy of compa,I am sure there’s a little chance that hunters will be crying here and there
Even a project with a good roadmap and white paper can be ending up to be scam . we cannot be sure if the project is legitimate if we will only be base in thier whitepaper .

sometimes scam project  has a good white paper to easily convinsed people to invest in thier ICO so even you make more search about the project you will never know . white paper is just a plan they can mdo it or not in thier own will .
true . with the advance technology that we have these days , its not really impossible to manipulate those details in order to make thier project look legit  . they can just photoshop the image and copy and cut the details or make some slight modification and they are now good to go but a wise bounty hunter or investor will not only look for the road map or on the white paper but they do also investigate other info's of the project like tracing thier stated location or calling the person in charge , and so on....
And other project also copyng others idea and add more so it will look like thier own it..

editing white paper and plagiarized so it will look like legitimate one, ive been see many project doing this.

And it's not hard for bounty hunters, who are only looking to get extra btc or tokens, to fall for these kind of scams. Most of they time they don't really invest any amount in the projects but the time thet spend in promoting these bounties could've been used more productively. Can't really blame them but they have to understand that if they fall for this, there's no means for them to get what they worked for.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: October 01, 2019, 04:34:26 AM
The secret to gambling is that you should not do it unless you have some kind of edge so the odds are in your favor not the opposite.
You should play a skilled based game and not a luck based since luck based games always have a house edge.

But I like to tell you based on my experience in sports betting, even if we think we have the edge on our bet as we will only make bet when we are confident but that does not guarantee that we will win since we never know what the outcome of the game.

So that's not a secret after all, a secret is a winning formula that will give you consistent win.

Confidence has nothing to do with getting favorable results. It may even be the reason you'll lose big money. I think everybody knows already that there's no secret to making money out of gambling. Be lucky and know how to handle your money whether you win or lose a bet or a roll. That's the only formula and people who make good money out of gambling knows it.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Errol Spence Jr. Vs Manny Pacquiao on: October 01, 2019, 04:29:18 AM
I've watched a few of Spence's fights and the guy's actually good. Though definitely not in the level of Pacquiao even at this point of his career. It's likely going to be a clinic with skill and experience being the deciding factor. It's always been a trend in boxing for young upcoming guys to challenge established big names like pacquiao and mayweather. And it's quite amusing to watch these grizzeld vets school these kids.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: October 01, 2019, 03:19:26 AM
just like unusual show by clippers last season, this season can expect few unusual teams to climb up the scoring ladder. Golden state warriors looks strong with stronger players. Also, recent signing of Tomas Satoransky from the Washington Wizards to Chicago Bulls makes it even stronger as an underrated team. Lets keep our eyes open !
I don't expect bulls to be in the playoffs this coming season, I like more the Atlanta hawks as they have the 2nd runner up rookie of the year which I think he will improve more this coming season.

Trae Young, my man, he should be a candidate for MVP race this coming season?
Am I too unrealistic here? what ya think? Grin

Mvp? I highly doubt it. Unless he can lead the hawks to probably the top 3 in the east before the playoffs. Though Young still has a lot of room to improve and if Luka wasn't in his batch last  year he probably would've nailed ROY. I'm looking more at the Nets this year and to see how Durant and Kyrie can carry the team deep in the playoffs. And the Bucks should also a top team to watch. The defending champs i think would have a hard time to make it deep, if they even get to the playoffs this time.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippine Basketball Association Discussion on: October 01, 2019, 02:01:15 AM
I believe we have a lot of gamblers in the forum who loves Philippines Basketball particularly PBA, that's why I'm bringing this outside the local.

SMB vs TNT - TNT lead the series at 2-1

What do you think about this series, which team is good to bet?

Just when it comes to PBA issues especially the Semi-finals and Championship Games, there is an increasing number of spinning ending called to us and to which betting team who will win, and I have been a fan of Beermen for decades. Samboy Lim, Fernandez and others are still playing Norman Black.

@mirakal - how about updating or editing the original post? Like a simple "2019 Governor's Cup betting and discussion" for new readers to have an idea what is being talked about now. Clearly, some did not even bother to check the whole thread.

Okay, I will update today, just to avoid some confusion as I think this thread will stay like the NBA discussion thread.

let's continue to make this as one of the most active thread in the gambling section. Thanks Bttzed03 for the suggestion.  Grin Grin

Anyone here already found a sportsbook that has already games of recent games of Philippines Basketball Association (PBA)?
Because last Friday, games on that day, I can't find some sportsbooks that are offering games to bet on, even on one of the famous cryptocurrency gambling website, sportsbet.io. I really can't find the game of Magnolia Hotshots vs Northport Batang Pier and NLEX Road Warriors vs Meralco Bolts.
Lol, I should've won since I am planning to bet on Magnolia Hotshots against Northport Batang Pier.

its available in sportsbet, they are consistent with providing PBA betting odds.

Lol. I can imagine this thread getting to more than a thousand pages. Possible that this be moved to the local boards since the PBA is specific to a local basketball league. But it's good that we get to have a continous discussion about the PBA much like the NBA discussion board. Collegiate leagues like the UAAP i think should also get a healthy discussion from fans as well.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you are Satoshi Millionaire? on: October 01, 2019, 01:23:00 AM
If you put it that way, it sounds good to have .01 btc lol. Though it's not that difficult for many people especially for traders to accumulate .01 in less than a week. Even when you do campaigns and bounties, you should be able to get .01 in a month. Though i don't want to look at it that way. Some people spend more than .01 in purchases or gambling. If you have enough capital, you can earn more than  that through trading in a few hours.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to buy using Bitcoin on: October 01, 2019, 12:50:21 AM
Hello:
I am new to cryptos and I must say that my first experience has been a bad one, I recently visited antminerusa.com and purchased some hardware, that was about 10 days ago, I paid using BTC, now the site is no longer available, its been down for 3 days maybe a bit more, this lead me to think this website is a scam.  Now what should I do to recover my BTC, if the purchase where made using a credit card, I would report it to my bank and they could void or cancel payment, but with BTC what should I do?, if there is nothing that I can do, then it is obvious that using cryptos is a scammers paradise because there is no protection to buyer (that I know), unless there is a way to introduce the complain in the chain in order to reverse payment.
This is the transaction id 30dc4f431ac3db1949b330ab8cd31d1bb019d4831e24cd7cd7f4215fca73073b if anyone could share some light I would appreciete it.

That sort of scam happens a lot more in fiat transactions. And it's your responsibility to make sure that you're making purchases on legitimate sites. Once your bitcoin transaction goes through, there's basically no way to recover it anymore. That's one downside of crypto payments that can be negated by buyers being extra careful before clicking that send or confirm button. Don't just try to look for the product, best to have sufficient info about the seller and their platform.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL'ers lose. That is no surprise on: October 01, 2019, 12:10:37 AM
For me holding always win, because long term holding always brings you profit, yes it is not like day trading that will gave you a lot of profit when you keeps on winning, but when you are holding your coin it will lessen the risk to lose it all. I am a holder and a trader I can say that both are good.

It depends on what coin/altcoin. I keep holding my THC since early 2017 now its delisted on  bittrex. A huge loss for me since I did not get my capital. Bitcoin for long term will be good since theres adaption every year. Though its not stable yet since some are still caashing out and dumping thier holdings, but the popularity of bitcoin doenst wane out.
Last year clearly showed that the word altcoin has only a few correct letters, and the other of them must be replaced by "shit". I am sure that Bitcoin has a great future, but most altcoins have their own life cycle. Although I continue to keep some altcoins, in the hope that among the heap of shit may be a real gem.

I'm not really sure about that. Though majority of the alts can be considered shitcoins, it's mainly because they have low volume. Given a chance, some of these alts can one day have actual use. The thing is that sometimes this will take forever before people realize they have value. Crypto is not yet as widely accepted as we'd like but once mass adoption goes full steam, some alts will be worth the long hodl.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTC? on: September 30, 2019, 01:07:03 PM
Bitcoin has said to repeat its history and I think the same thing is just happening. The same thing happened last 2017 so I believe that the same case could happen this year. Btc is increasing and people are hoping for a better value. This year could be a year of Btc.
If we read history, then almost every year bitcoin continues to increase. I'm not really sure that this year's Bitcoin can reach prices like 2017. In my opinion the price of bitcoin will reach $ 15,000 or more by 2020. Let's hope that bitcoin can continue to increase in 2020 and investors return there.

Well bitcoin didn't increase last year.  It's going to be hard from now on to keep an uptrend that can be sustained. People will already be wary if btc hits about 10k. Not all btc holders have the resolve or the means to keep their btcs for a long time. Like now when btc is tradinf below 8k. Many have already jumped ship once again and sold.  It's going to be a slow drag to get back to where most of us want to be.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is how you cash out bitcoin anonymously in 2019! on: September 30, 2019, 10:40:26 AM
PLEASE READ THIS POST ENTIRELY, NOT JUST THE THREAD TITLE!

I know of a service where you can cash out  your BTC anonymously - are people interested in that? Should I share it?

Are there people on this forum who would like to know how to cash out BTC in fiat ANONYMOUSLY via their preferred way of sending the fiat?

I have found a way to do it but I am not sure whether it is allowed to post it here or whether there is enough interest to post it

Well there would be enough interest in that for sure. I remember a few years ago, that's how we do it before exchanges and wallet platforms started implimenting KYC. If it meets the forum's eligibilty, then do share it so that people can try and provide feedbacks to others. Personally i'd prefer to just use trusted platforms for my withdrawal, though.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we really have fast transactions like the XRP? on: September 30, 2019, 10:30:39 AM
Thats a lot  of work to do and to have faster transaction will affect the system drastically. There is Lightning Network already and hopes they can improve more. Overhauling the whole system is tedious and delicate, but necessity makes people to experiment and innovate try new system. I think its better to recreate the whole system, but I wonder many will support it as most people will stick to the original.
There's already an example of this and it's called BCH the results compared to Bitcoin aren't even close. Changing the rules mainly for faster transactions is unlikely, it needs the majority to agree before it can happen and this isn't good to begin with because the bad side of such changes tends to be ignored or less prioritized.

Thankfully! even though XRP is a useless coin for others, we can use it as an option to lower the fees of our transactions on some exchanges and with our local exchange Having XRP one of the coins that they Buying, we can directly send XRP to it then convert it to our local money then withdraw it, isn't it convenience?

So it's a Win-Win situation for us. After all, XRP is not a shitcoin like you guys say. at least for us.
If XRP was the only altcoin accepted on all exchanges then i'd agree but exchanges usually have several altcoins listed and there are better altcoins to choose from other than XRP.

They have. I use doge to transfer btc from one exchange to another. Though amongst the top coins in the market, ripple  is my top choice for cheap and fast transactions. It's definitely cheaper than bch. Even if btc transactions are a lot faster now, converting to alts is still cheaper and for me, way quicker than bitcoin.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we ready for another price bump? Reminder for the shortsighted people. :-> on: September 30, 2019, 08:52:59 AM
"When in doubt, zoom out!" - a quote I've read on Reddit in the past.

There are so much panicking after every price dip that they don't realize that even if the price dropped, we just came from a low of $3k-$4k like 5-6 months ago. And to be honest? Even though I'd definitely prefer a higher price, I'm still really happy and content with the current price of bitcoin. This shouldn't really be surprising though. The less-experienced "investors" a.k.a. gamblers in the cryptocurrency markets are really short sighted, whereas the more experienced investors look at more of the long term.

Good quote. Very relevant, especially for bitcoin. If people are still looking at it from a  short term perspective, better to just leave crypto. Though there may be less people now who'll see this drop as a doomsday sign. We've been through this before and many of us have already learned our lessons from past pumps and dumps.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Martingale strategy increase your chance of winning? on: September 30, 2019, 12:30:18 AM
I don't recommend anyone to use this strategy when playing a dice game since you'll just end up losing if the odds turns against you consecutive as you double your bet believeing that you'll eventually recover your loss and not double your capital or more. The emotion in this kind of strategy is too high since the risk is increasing every time you aren't able to what your target is.
Your greed and aggressiveness puts you in risk, as every lost that you take adds more desire to recover right away. This particular actions will continue and without any knowledge you already lose everything, martingale system works for short term strategy but using it for longer time only harm your money. You need to have good composure controlling your emotions to avoid burning your capital investment.
But, that is funny when someone share their strategy in this forum and when people see it, it is martingale strategy. Maybe that person get win on their first time and not feel lose yet. But, back to gambling's nature, it is luck game and if luck not on our side anymore, we can end with empty our money. But what make it funnier, someone who use martingale and then sell their strategy.  Grin

I think we all should realize that martingale is pretty much the same as with any strategy the one can think of in playing dice. It all boils down to how lucky you are for that day. I've experienced good days using martingale, the same way i had using random bets. And that goes the same for days when i'm a bit unlucky. The difference is just the time it takes for you either to win or to use up all your capital.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Believe That It's A Fix on: September 29, 2019, 08:40:28 AM
Ok this actually happens to my friend not so long ago, he is going on a boxing match and he will bet for the heavy favorite, then suddenly an unknown guy whisper to him, that the fight is going to be fixed and he supposedly heard it from the favorite to win, locker room, are you going to listen to that and bet for the underdog.

What's your take?

The moment you have a second thought about where you are going to put your bet, you already lost. You don't want to listen to a stranger that randomly walks towards you and say something like that, most of the time it is just a bluff or he is just making fun of you, and if he successfully get into your mind, then you are messed up. So if you are having a hard time deciding where to bet, because you have second thoughts, please don't bet your money, I'm 100% sure you are going to lose that bet.

Go to another game and place your bet on something you are sure about, so you will not regret anything you do in the end.

It's just plain stupid, to be honest. And i think people aren't dumb enough to place bets based on the suggestion of a complete stranger. That just won't make sense. I agree. Sometimes, a person's intuition can save him from losing a lot. I think it's a wise choice to follow your instincts. Having second thoughts or hesitation is your instincts already telling you not to push through with what you're about to do.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippine Basketball Association Discussion on: September 29, 2019, 07:50:01 AM
What happen to the Ginebra San Miguel? They are down in the first quarter, its 41-24 Phoenix leading the game.
Is there any chance that they will come back and win this game?
What a nearmiss!! I thought Tenorio's 3 point shot on the last 2 min. mark can change their fate but it's not. Well, at least thy abe to minimize the lead of Phoenix from double digit to few points. However, it was not enough! I can see the frustration on Tim Cone's face during their game and while going to the dugout.

Going on Ginebra's last play, for me Anton del Rosario did a great plan and it was well executed too. What I think happened is just that Brownlee made an error which is understandabe tho because of the long range from the ring. That's really a tough shot.

Who would thought that this game will almost go to OT, that was a nice game, Ginebra showed their character of a NSD or never say die.
Moving on to games today, I think I will go with the underdog in the first game and will go with SMB in the 2nd game.

Blackwater is +6.5 now against NLEX, I will go with the moneyline, the winning streak will end today.
2nd game SMB -13.5, well I guess that's a decent line given how the alaska played lately.

Lol. Allowing a team to take a 20+ lead just so you can try to stage a comeback is never a good idea. They were outplayed. It's not about never say die attitude. That stigma is slowly fading from this Ginebra team. Their fans are still thinking of the robert jaworski era and the 90s team of david, aquino, hizon and company. A lot of teams now have done the same thing the current ginebra team is doing.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: September 29, 2019, 07:41:04 AM
Patrick is very dominant in his defensive role and frustrates forwards with giving them no space to make a run at the bucket.
We know that, he is a real definition of a defensive play who always makes some hustle play in the floor, you need to have a high patience when you are guarded by him because if you will get easily frustrated, that's his victory.

With the addition of Kawhi and PG13 Clippers is going to be a great contender for sure. Also excited to see Zion play for Pelicans next season.

They will carry this team to a higher level and if they will win in the west I'm sure they will not have a hard time winning the championship.

Their tough journey is in the West, they need to beat the Lakers and the Warriors as their first priority.

I'm excited to watch zion but i'm expecting too much from this kid unless he actually gets to play with the big guys. We've seen several hyped up top picks end up as busts. These busts have very good and promising college credentials but ended up not fairing well at all becuse of either injuries or they're simply just hyped up.
