21  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Drop in Network Hashrate on: June 21, 2013, 01:49:04 AM

Class warfare isn't so bad.  After all - it's not like we are looking after each other's interests.

That's each parties' responsibility.  I think what we are fighting for is equal representation, consideration - equality - at least in how honestly business is conducted and the avoidance of price gouging.

Bearish short term.  Next gen of chips will change the game.  But the stabilized hashrate in a few months will be the real game changer.

Petabit hashrate - Feb '14.

BFL and Avalon might be the safe bet now - but I believe bitfury and it's very low power req's is a solution targeted for many months from now.

22  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 224 BFL Chip Credits - 0.031 Per Credit (lots of 32) on: June 21, 2013, 01:42:04 AM

Geeeeeez!  Everybody selling their credits, but I'm getting no love here.

What gives!!!???
23  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 224 BFL Chip Credits - 0.031 Per Credit (lots of 32) on: June 20, 2013, 02:33:34 PM

price corrected
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon mining with customer hardware? Answer is here. on: June 20, 2013, 12:15:06 AM

Pretty sad when Avalon team adamantly declared that there is no reason to use main net for burn-in.  Which is true.

So, Avalon calls shame to BFL.  Then they do it themselves.  Sad, but not surprised.

26  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 224 BFL Chip Credits - Lots of 32 chips - OBO on: June 18, 2013, 10:14:05 PM
BFL selling packaged chips for $75 retail.  Credits allow purchase of chips at $50 per.

$0.04 cents on the dollar is just too low.  I'm willing to take offers, but 4 cents is just.... no good reason why I should bother selling.

Of course, if no one wants to buy BFL chips since BFL is sketchy - *shrugs*

The credits are in the form of transferable vouchers.

Vouchers are in lots of 32 chip credits.  Minimum purchase - 1 Lot = 32 chip credits.

BFL states that minimum chip purchase voucher or otherwise is 100 chips.  If you plan to buy chips from BFL - 100 chips will be the minimum order size

Discount will apply if all lots, 7x32, are purchased outright.

I believe the only way to validate a voucher is to attempt to make a purchase with one - so I've heard.

So, you'll just have to take my word or wait a long time in escrow until BFL lumbers around to address voucher orders.

PM me.
27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: June 18, 2013, 06:04:55 PM

Alright, who has access to a BGP AS?  Time to black hole these f'ers with a transit AS attack.

(Used to work - think Iran.... lol)

In all seriousness, it isn't that simple - or at least - very effective.

So, I guess Black Lotus is too expensive, eh?

28  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Please do not change MAX_BLOCK_SIZE on: June 16, 2013, 11:52:48 AM

...

Both extremes result in centralization.
The low limit results in a centralization of transactions.  It becomes too limited and expensive to transaction on blockchain so most occur off blockchain.
The high limit results in a centralization of nodes. The extreme cost of running a node means there will be less of them.

The "optimal" blocksize would be one that perfectly balances the centralization of transactions against the centralization of nodes.   Now 1MB obviously isn't that perfect limit and whatever the limit is raised to likely isn't either but it certainly moving in the right direct.  In other words a 10MB limit is closer to optimal than 1MB is.

Vote for option 'E' and hope someone is smart enough to figure out what needs to be done for dynamic, deterministic block management.

Still, I believe that the period between 0 conf and 1 will hamper adoption in the physical world for immediate payments.  It would be nice for Bitcoin to be as pedestrian as technically possible.

Sergio had an idea worth debating.  More of an indirect approach.

29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury-Metabank ASIC 120 Gh/s (my intermediary services) on: June 01, 2013, 11:42:28 AM

Naima.  Your offer is appreciated - however - the 2x price is excessive for posting equipment to outside of Russia.

Can you explain why 2x?
30  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nootropics For bitcoins Review (Kratom) on: May 30, 2013, 04:47:35 PM

It's my understanding that most of the nootropic drugs are temporary stimulating agents.

Some outcomes more anecdotally profound than others.

The really interesting stuff is the nerve growth factor in the nootropic, cerebrolysin.  The Russians have been using it forever and there are some interesting fast time elapsed videos of axon/dendrite (??) formation with and without cerebrolysin.  But these nerve cell samples were outside of the body - so I believe it's fairly difficult to keep nerve cells alive in culture.

So, the videos might not be legitimate.

*shrugs*
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Liberty Reserve shutdown is a boost for Bitcoin? on: May 30, 2013, 11:43:52 AM
If you have not heard the news yet, Liberty Reserve has been shut down http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22680297

This is bullish news for Bitcoins. Not only is there now one less competitor to bitcoins, but this shows one more time why a decentralized payment network is much more resilient than a centralized one. This also shows how aggressive governments can be, so it is even more important to have your money in a place you control, one which will not get shut down by police.

Is this as big as the Cyprus thing? No, because it affects fewer people, but it is just one more thing in a long line of acts which the government is doing which will ultimately push people into using Bitcoins.

32  Other / Off-topic / Re: Story about photo lab job [NSFW] on: May 29, 2013, 08:02:21 PM
I worked in a photo lab when I was in college. This was back before digital cameras were in wide use. People would take photos at college parties and drop them off for one hour development.

Most of the photos were pretty boring. A group of guys or girls posing, obviously drunk. Beer cans, Solo cups. A couple bongs. And the occasional topless girl or someone puking. Nothing too unexpected.

But there was one guy that came in on a regular basis. His photos were always hardcore pornography. Spread eagle shots, blowjobs, facials. Gaping vaginas and assholes. I fucking loved printing this guy's stuff and put extra effort into getting the color balance and exposure just right. It got so that he'd ask for me every time he dropped film off.

He started showing up to the shop with a girl on his arm. The same one every time. He called her Amber, though I suspect that wasn't her real name. Let's just say that I already knew Amber more intimately than did her gynecologist. Nearly all the photos coming in at this point from this guy were of Amber.

As time went on, the photos got more and more extreme. At first, it was just her getting fucked or spreading her ass open. Pretty soon, a dick shoved down her throat and tears streaming down her face, her heavily-applied mascara smeared in an almost comical fashion. I printed one of these for my own pleasure and added the caption "Harlequin."

Pretty soon, it appeared, my favorite customer got involved in hardcore BDSM. Photos of Amber tied to the floor, helpless. Butt plugs that appeared to increase in size every time he came in. Clothespins on her nipples, down the backs of her arms. She still had bruising from these when I saw her once. She saw me admiring her love marks and gave me an almost demure wink.

Fisting. Double fisting. Gapes so large it looked like she just shit a watermelon. And then started the erotic knife play. Photos of Amber with a knife to her throat, red marks on her skin, then small cuts. Tears still streaming down her face. And every time I'd admire a scar when I saw her in person, she'd smile at me and whisper knowingly to my favorite photographer.

I graduated before I got to see where all this was going. Every time this couple would come in, I'd find myself furiously masturbating in the back room of the photo lab. She ruined me for other women. Sweet, innocent college girls would show me their tits or go down on me. But it was never quite enough. I dreamed of the horrible things I could do to a girl. I dreamed of my own Amber.

To this day, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied that I've found The One until I can reach inside her through her anus and feel her intestines moving her waste rhythmically, romantically, through her body. I don't think I can be happy until I can crawl inside her digestive system and hide from the world.

But isn't that ultimately what we all want? To find someone that we care about so dearly that the rest of the world doesn't matter?

Ok.......

...............

'moving her waste rhythmically, romantically, through her body.'

Mind blown.

Would be interesting to observe any increase in deflationary forces - if it all - if currency population was matured.
35  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Should Butterfly Labs (BFL) get a Scammer tag? on: May 29, 2013, 12:31:19 AM

One of the interesting things said by the investigators out of the *Rex Rogers / lotto fraud case is that:

These guys were good.  They were careful not to make any definite claims.

Kind of the same thing with BFL.  You say you have something soon¯™  Make obscure references to designs/tests/timelines.  Nothing definitive.  Have the nerve to invoke Abraham Lincoln.

(By the way - the heat testing claim in November 2012 was likely with heat elements and not actual ASIC chips on a board.)

I'm not sure if this is completely intentional on BFL's part, but it makes one think very hard about what BFL's game is.

*Rex Rogers being Sonny @ BFL's father.
36  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL - butterfly labs - a SAD state of affairs on: May 29, 2013, 12:14:22 AM
I was at the Conference in San Jose and they had working two 30g and a jalapeno hashing away at there table, so I think there pretty close to delivery. Now would be the time to place a order. They said pre-orders would arrive next month and full supply by September.

My God. It's full of shills.

Boom.

It looks like he may be talking about searching?  If so quite often I'm looking for something the reason I can't find it is because I'm unsure about what I should be searching for, so I'll need to do 2 or more searches in quick succession to find the proper term.  This can be annoying, usually I'll go do something else between searches and it takes quite a while to actually get it done.

Same here.

Good tip for Google: search

Rand

IMHO, Ayn Rand was this century's most profound thinker and the greatest literary artist of all time. Her portrayal of man as an independent, efficacious, rational being is worth experiencing, no matter which side you take in the violent controversy that surrounds her and her works.

No matter with an IQ of 180 - anyone who believe's the bolded comments above is either extremely narrow minded or certifiably crazy.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders on: May 24, 2013, 08:08:44 PM
Lol, what a cunt.

The state of affairs is clearly getting to her. This is the voice of someone who is enjoying her position of perceived power.

The psychoanalyst in me is enjoying this rare public display of compartmentalization, reaction formation and assertiveness.

This would have been the pschometric testing @ Big Fucking Lies (BFL)

1) Are u or have u ever been regarded as a PsychoPath.....Yes / No

2) How would you rate you lying skills on a scale of 1 to 10 ?

3) If questioned by Government officials does your memory of events fail you at times.... Yes/No

4) Do you take pleasure in the misfortune of others..... Yes/No

5) Would you steal food of another hungry person to feed yourself or would you go hungry yourself ?

6) Do you see the truth as sometimes getting in the way or an inconvenient anomaly to what would be a better result for yourself and others in the long run

I think its pretty obvious how that nest of thiefs and liars test results would have looked...lol

1) Are u or have u ever been regarded as a PsychoPath.....Yes / No
*By BFL Reps Yes, Everyone else without a reality distortion field, No or Maybe.*

2) How would you rate you lying skills on a scale of 1 to 10 ?
*Define what you consider a lie?*

3) If questioned by Government officials does your memory of events fail you at times.... Yes/No
*My closest friends say I used NLP techniques in their conversations, I think they don't know what they are talking about.*

http://www.nlpco.com/

4) Do you take pleasure in the misfortune of others..... Yes/No
*I do not take pleasure in my own misfortunes, no.*

5) Would you steal food of another hungry person to feed yourself or would you go hungry yourself ?
*I can only say on record that I have considered not giving the dollar (openly viewed) in my hand when asked if I had a dollar. Then I caved and did exactly that.*

6) Do you see the truth as sometimes getting in the way or an inconvenient anomaly to what would be a better result for yourself and others in the long run
*The question is silly, the truth always comes out.*

(The preceeding was a total fabrication and obfuscation of any and all questions asked!

Not necessarily for the content of the results, this confirms my suspicions of PuertoLibre.

Using metrics to judge a situation.  And fundamental psychology, no less.

Opinion + 10.

I'm tired of the conflict that the bad business operations of BFL has incurred on the community.

You can make a product:  great.  When, and how reliable are also of major significance.
40  Other / Meta / BTCTalk Free Expression - But Highlighted Stupidity on: May 21, 2013, 08:20:57 PM

I would like to see a feature where forum users of a certain designation, such as the recently designation of "expert", be allowed to mark a topic post that:

1.  Is in the experts direct realm of expertise.
2.  The post is full of FUD, or low information, which ultimately misleads any other low information forum users.

Finally

3.  This expert have a specific mod power to mark the topic post (not the entire thread) as WTFRUTA or some other appropriate designation.

The results would have the topic post in question have a bold red border, and a red "X" with dimensions of 100% of the post width and a height of about 20px.

Far, far too many low information opinion formulated posts here.
