21  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: March 16, 2018, 06:02:47 PM
Both of them are good if you know how to make money with them. I know how to make money with trading but I do not know how to make money with investing. People are making money with investing a lot and I still do not understand how it works. I can never determine which project is good and which places is the best for me to put my money in

That is right. But I prefer investing. I invested in the mining since a few years ago and quite profitable.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash/BTG AMD GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux) on: March 12, 2018, 09:24:18 AM
Ok I'm ready to burn my computer.  Someone please help me.  I have a R280X that runs Cryptonite at 485h/s and according to the charts should run Equihash around 290 h/s.  I'm running claymore 12.6 on Slushpool and when the miner starts it does 275h/s.  It then begins to throttle down in steps down to 145 h/s and sometimes lower.  I recently watch it go as low as 40 h/s before climbing back up to 145 h/s.
Does anybody know why the rates are so low, and also the -i and -il commands do nothing to the hashrate.
I'm running the "blockchain" drivers but had the same problem when running AMD 15.2.
Any ideas?
Bob

Which GPU is this exactly?

Most likely your fans are dead or dying and your GPU is throttling.

Then why does it run full guns 485 h/s when mining cryptonite ?  no problem there...only problem is equihash and claymore 12.6

What Is the make and model of your 280x ?

Try using the older 15.12 drivers and set clock to 1050/1500 or so.

I have a few 7970 (280X), I run them at 950 mV, 900/1250MHz, quite stable.

OK, here is the deal that could literally change ETH (if true of course, as it might be scam).

http://news.8btc.com/bitmain-to-release-ethereum-asic-miner-f3-with-72gb-ddr3-dram-in-q2

If technically possible, this will be a game changer for the ETH mining.

If this happens, then Bitmain will become even a bigger mining monopolist. Then the crypto community needs to retaliate and push the ETH PoS sooner to make the ASICs sales irrelevant. Quite interesting, no?

I remember the developers said a few years ago that if there is an ASIC, they will change the mining algorithm.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to mining on 2018 on: February 11, 2018, 03:38:07 PM
I bought 36x 580 8gb for 700,00 each...

I think I’m going to have 1 year to 1-1.5 ROI.

But I thinks is going to be a good investment.

Let’s hope it is!!

I think you bought very expensive and now bad moment for start mining
But if you believe you will be get good profit in future
I am prefer Nvidia cards)

The nVidia cards are more power efficient. So they are good for people with expensive electricity prices.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 Nano Modded Rom on: January 28, 2018, 07:25:37 PM
Anybody got numbers  mining ethereium with that R9 NANO
i get 28 mh/s at 150 Watts

i'm getting the same hashrate with a rx 570 at 65 watts.

Would be nice to have a sweet modded bios for that r9  Smiley

You should use the R9 nano for ZEC. It is not good for ETH any more.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has risen to 8.3k usd on: November 24, 2017, 06:34:12 PM
Hopefully it would reach to 10k by the end of this year. It would be a great Christmas for us all. Make 2017 great!

$10k is possible if the price is crashed by the future market in CME. I hope the lighting will be available soon.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chances Chinese Government Will Ban Crypto Coin Mining? on: November 20, 2017, 08:36:09 AM
They just banned things related to cryptos recently, how can they be opening up NEO to ICOs now when they so recently banned so much related to crypto coins? It does not make sense.

Thanks.

I think the Chinese can trade NEO in foreign exchanges.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: October 28, 2017, 09:22:32 AM
It's still most profitable among major cryptos but small and new coins are more profitable sometimes

That is right. Some times it is more profitable than the ZEC or Decred.

It seems the ZEC has more potential to rise at the moment.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 11, 2017, 10:38:44 AM
Now everything falls down on the threshold of the hardfork. Everybody was crazy on this idea. Everyone wants to get coins for free.

I think there will not be two chains. So only one coin.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Viability of a (Long Term) Mining Career? on: October 09, 2017, 06:47:18 AM
my monthly wage are less than $500 and I'm an sales analyst, create complex sales reporting everyday working full time in a Bank, i have a wife and two kids, living regular life, Mining give me more than my monthly salary, so i can eat at restaurant, buy vehicles, and travelling.
Really hope i live in scandinavia, the salary and the black metal is good Smiley

As long as your salary can support your life style, it is a good life.

I filled up my ethereum bags at $203 .. i am 100% confident that it will rise during metropolis hardfork

I believe so. The Metropolis can attract more users and investors.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 11, 2017, 06:17:47 AM
Eth is pretty much getting hammered right now, I expect it to go down to 200 USD.

It's not ETH's fault, it;s just these cowboy speculators that  trade on Coinsbase or other centralized exchages. They can easily swap coins back and forth into fiat, while we the true ETH holders who have out ETH outside exchanges, take the hits.

Fkin fiat traders  Smiley

I think the short term price fluctuation is not a worry. As long as there are more usages, that is fine.

Doc.ai's Ethereum Blockchain-Based Medical Solutions Bring Artificial Intelligence To Healthcare
The project is the result of collaboration between developers from Stanford and Cambridge Universities. According to the announcement, doc.ai can improve patient care by "creating the most advanced natural language dialog system that generates insights from combined medical data." The platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing for decentralized timestamping of datasets, and makes use of AI that is capable of deep learning on the edge of networks (a term for data processing near the data source on the network, thus reducing communication bandwidth between sensors and the datacenter) or on a mobile device. https://www.ethnews.com/doc-ai-ethereum-blockchain-based-medical-solutions-bring-artificial-intelligence-to-healthcare

ETHf is too expensive. ETHc is the right choice for blockchain-based medical solutions.

Will ETHc become more expensive when more people use it? Should we use ETHf after ETHc is more expensive?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia vs AMD, Zcash vs Ethereum on: August 03, 2017, 02:27:01 PM

BTW believe it or not R9 280X have faster memory than RX580

No, slower memory...but wider bus...384 vs 256 bit, so better memory throughput

However, people tried to explain that Nvidia is (with same memory speed) faster than RX580
because ZEC depends on core speed, and not memory speed...contradictions on all sides of story Smiley

I think it is more to do compute core structure. The 280x is similar speed to 570.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: July 28, 2017, 03:22:43 PM
I was wondering if ethereum mining is still profitable. So what do you say?

Is it still profitable to mine ethereum with GPUs and CPUs?

Better to go with zcash , as difficulty increases , profitability decreases.

The profitability reduced by 60% over the past three weeks.

That is true. If the price drops another 40%, it is not profitable for me any more.

European-based cryptocurrency exchange HitBTC became the first exchange supporting the Useless Ethereum Token on Monday, July 3rd of this past week. HitBTC announced that UET had been added to the list of tradeable currencies, presenting the new UET/ETH market.

What is Useless Ehereum Token used for?  Huh

Maybe just the name?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 26, 2017, 01:08:59 PM

rather  incredible, no? and a meeting of clues:

induced ETH big fall, CNBC news, false rumor of Vitalik death...follow the trail...

The price crash to 10c is too short. Most of us did not have the chance to buy.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 17, 2017, 07:26:08 AM
I think my 7950 mine better than RX 480.

But 7950 uses more energy.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: May 28, 2017, 07:07:37 AM
Breaking 10:1 ratio with force may start a major run.

I think the ETC is very strong recently. it is alomst 9.5% of ETH price now.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 10, 2017, 06:30:34 AM
I don't get what ETC guys have against Ethereum when it is by itself is clone of ETH and their most posts are in the thread just trolling or degrading Ethereum just for their small profits. They forget Ethereum has made it place stable and every new project is using Ethereum's smart contracts for their crowdsales successfully. Temporary ups and downs are not considerable.

EXPANSE is the only ETHEREUM CLONE worth buying because their devs are legit trusted AMERICANS ... WHERE IS ALIEN HEAD VITALIK??? PROLLY HIDING IN THAILAND???

Do you think there is no American sammer?
