21  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: December 31, 2015, 03:33:29 AM
Alright so bad news is it seems like the hacker does indeed have control of the escrow wallet. I can't decrypt it anymore using the password I previously had so it has been changed. I won't be able to return the coins sent to the escrow addresses. I also noticed a lot of the addresses sent to the hacker are not addresses from my escrow wallet except for a few.

My tipping address was also within the same wallet so any funds in that address has also been taken: https://blockchain.info/address/14PUWBwK854GLenxSa7MAuxXQUXK4DKKi5

This address contains about 2.1 of my own BTC from fees/tips I've gathered from escrowing this past year. The rest seems to be sent to them by other people, as instructed by whoever gained access to my bitcointalk account.

In this case I will have no choice but to repay everyone using my own funds. Unfortunately I don't possess the liquidity to be able to repay everyone all at once, but rest assured I will work to pay this off. I apologize again for this. It was my own negligence for not keeping better back ups.

I will be creating a repayment thread in the reputation section and it will be self-modded to prevent the trolls from trying to mess things up any further.

I'll be contacting individuals who have had their funds taken away from them, will ask for verification and then will proceed to paying each person one by one when funds become available.

At this point I am sure a lot of people won't even believe me. If that's the case then go right ahead and dox me, either way it won't matter to me.

Thanks to Kingzee for creating this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1307926.0

I'll be using that thread to cross-reference the addresses I can see in the wallet and make payments accordingly. I'll also be asking for repayment addresses just so I don't end up sending it to the wrong people or people trying to claim the payments that don't belong to them. Too many god damn trolls here, consider this my last reply to this particular thread.

Sorry for disappointing everyone, I too had my hopes up.
Are you absolutely sure that you don't have any backup of the wallet somewhere so you can recover it? You are sure that you don't have paper backups, backups on external drives, backups on flashdrives, etc.?

If you don't have access to the wallet but the hacker does, then why aren't the funds gone yet?

Also, would you be willing to send a trusted member a copy of your wallet (it is encrypted so nothing can be stolen really) so that they can verify that the addresses the supposed hacker used are not actually in your wallet?

Lastly, if you solicit donations for repayment, can you use a multisig escrow with multiple trusted escrows on the forum (they can't be all bad or colluding right?) That would ensure that the victims can get their funds back and that you aren't scamming the donors.

I have the wallet files backed up and restored but my password isn't working thus I'm unable to send any funds out. The hacker likely didn't move the funds because he already knows he has full control over them and can move them anytime they want.

And no, I won't be needing to ask for donations. Not like anyone would want to donate directly to me anyway after all of this. It is my own fuck up for getting keylogged or whatever it was, I don't expect or want anyone to step in for me. I'll be able to repay everyone on my own.

was the real Master-P always such an asshole?

i find it hard to believe that he/she could have made it into big5 with an attitude like that.

I'll be adding blatant sig spammers to my ignore list so I don't have to spend as much time sifting through garbage posts while trying to resolve this. Starting with you.

Can someone show me where I can download Armory 0.93.3? I can only see 0.93.2 as the latest/stable on the Armory website.

the sooner you realize that nobody is interested in your opinion on anything the sooner you can start working on returning those coins

Yeah, I've always been a dick to blatant signature spammers who post without anything valuable to add to the conversation. People like them ruin this community as much as scammers do. 95% of these boards are garbage nonconstructive spam while the other 5% of valuable content is burried deep under all of that bullshit.

I was never a part of the "big5".

Instead of going on with your usual bullshit, why dont you fucking hurry up with refunding all the people you owe?

Are you retarded or just a troll?

Do you not know that I am already working on this? Not going to bother with replying to people like you anymore. People act like my dox is a big fucking deal, I don't care if I get dox'd or not regardless if I repay the funds or not. Doxxing me won't change the fact that I will work to repay everyone if the wallet is lost. I'm already working on getting my wallet restored to have the funds sent back to everyone, what the fuck more do you want? Are you one of the victims who got their money taken from them?

Anyway, added to ignore list. So fucking done with this community.

Please stop entertaining the trolls and the sig spammers guys.

I'm verified here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306301.msg13398178#msg13398178

I also sent verification of my identity to Blazed via PM. He can confirm it here if he wishes.

My wallet on my secondary PC is almost done syncing. After that I'm going to try and extract and restore the wallets safely on a secured machine and see if I can access the coins. If I can then great, I can return everyone's money. Even the ones that were already in escrow prior to the hack, since after this whole debacle I don't intend on continuing my service for those anymore.

If I can't access the funds anymore then I will work on getting people paid back over time. I definitely don't have enough liquidity to be able to pay back everyone's coins all at once but you have my word I will definitely work my ass off to get everyone their money back.
I'd say you're not really in any position to dictate who should post or not.  We'll see if you give the money back or not, eh?

Good to see that you are really interested in fixing this up. Can you tell us if the addresses that contain our coins are under your control or if they belong to the hackers?

I can't tell. Some of the address, for example my tipping address seems are ones I recognize that I previously generated in the escrow wallet. While some others I don't recognize, it could be new addresses generated by the hacker. He does not need the private key to generate new addresses using Armory, I don't think. I find it odd that he didn't simply just have people send coins over to his own addresses? I am not sure either way. Perhaps he did and he's just holding the coins to help convince people that I do indeed have control over them when I don't.

Either way I am working on this, trying to figure out the safest possible way to restore my wallets without losing everything, or anything at all.

I think most people were angry (me included) of the thought that you'd sold your identity. I hoped beyond hope that it wasn't true because it felt like a kick in the balls for lots of people here that trusted you.

Even if I were to sell my account in secret it wouldn't have been for 1 or 2 bitcoins.
29  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P POSSIBLE SCAM. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: December 30, 2015, 12:21:05 PM
The gmail account I use for this account was compromised, therefore the hacker was able to change my password without changing the e-mail. Luckily the e-mail is a bit of a throwaway I use for bitcointalk only, but that only solidifies the hackers control over my bitcointalk account.

In any case, I don't care about that anymore. I'm back here only to see if I can help resolve this and turn things around. I don't care to have any rep of mine restored, regardless if you guys believe my side of the story or not, my reputation here has been tainted. Simply by the fact that I didn't keep proper back ups and conducted better security practices when accepting/downloading certain files from people here. It was my own negligence, and I understand that. I don't care if I get dox'd or not because I know I didn't steal anything from anyone. Someone here is trying to fuck with me and has been successful with it so far.

I'll keep everyone here updated.
30  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P POSSIBLE SCAM. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: December 30, 2015, 10:30:33 AM
It's a clearsign signature, I believe it needs to be verified with Armory.

In Armory I go to: Tools -> Message Signing/Verification -> "Verify Signed Message Block" tab and paste the whole thing in and it should show as valid. Works for me.

This is not my stake address. But since you're probably just a sig spammer or trying to bump up your post count without reading through all the details you should know that someone else took control of my stake address wallet and already tried impersonating me by using it to sign a message.

This address was used by me in June 2015. It was for a transaction that OgNasty escrowed, where this is the address he had released the funds to since I was the seller. Someone can contact him to see if he can help verify this or not. I'm trying to find other addresses I may have used but I've lost a lot of them. This is one of the older ones I can find and I thought it would be more credible if a DT1 member is able to help verify it's legitimacy of being my address.

Nice that you are trying to confirm your identity to be Master-p.
However; shouldn't you first move all the escrowed coins to a secure private key, before any of the funds go missing...

Well I am working on that now. I figured if this is a keylogger or some sort of malware I should try moving the drives that contained my wallet files and restoring them on another PC. I did not have back ups set up at the time, negligent of me but at the time I was already moving data from my old PC to another and had forgotten to keep a spare back up of the wallets.

Excuse my slow replies due to the 360 second posting restriction for me.

I am back home. I was able to access my personal wallet which contains addresses I've used for transacting here on Bitcointalk. The address I used below is one where I sold a 2500k processor to "ChanceCoats123" here on Bitcointalk. The transaction is escrowed by OgNasty. He may verify this if he wishes to. This took place in June 2015.

Clearsign signature below:

-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Comment: Signed by Bitcoin Armory v0.93.2

This is master-P signing this message using the address: 18ovXpWyu5kpmT6Lzp49PKDCtZNQoPhmGQ

This is an address used back in June 2015 for a transaction that involved OGNasty as the escrow.

I did not sell my account. My account was hacked and any other claims stating otherwise are false.

The hacker does not have control of the wallet that contains this address as far as I can tell.

Well, I don't exactly care about my dox. Post it all you want, it won't help the situation. I am not exactly threatened by that as many people in this community whom I've traded with already knows my name. But if you guys think threatening me by doxxing me is going to help, regardless of if you believe my story or not, then you're going about this all wrong.

Maybe you could prove that you are the real master-p by posting something in your dox, like your street address number or something small so those with your dox could confirm that it is the correct information..

Or maybe PM the dude with your dox and tell him so he can confirm it is correct..

It may not remove all doubt but may help.. IDK, just a suggestion..

I don't mind showing proof to TECSHARE to verify my dox. I can prove that it is the real me with a photo ID. But like everyone here likes to say, it's easy to buy a fake ID Right? So I don't know how credible this may seem to the community. With that said, I don't mind doing it as a way to further verify myself since there is no way the hacker would have access to my photo identification documents.

There are a lot of idiots in this thread I'm not even going to bother addressing. You're either just trying to bump up your post count or you simply didn't read the majority of this thread. Everything that has been posted by every other user claiming to be me is a LIE.

Again, I repeat. I NEVER SOLD MY ACCOUNT. IT WAS LIKELY STOLEN BECAUSE I GOT KEYLOGGED BY ACCEPTING A MALICIOUS FILE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS FROM SOMEONE IN THIS COMMUNITY.

Take this as you will. I'm already trying my best to have this resolved ASAP. Even though it's not my money at risk here, I'm doing my duty by the community by doing everything I can at the best of my current ability. I only have about 2 BTC at risk here which is located in my tipping address: https://blockchain.info/address/14PUWBwK854GLenxSa7MAuxXQUXK4DKKi5

The rest of the funds in that address other than the 2.10ish BTC is not mine.

I don't even care about restoring my reputation. I just want to try to get everyone their money back. And I'll go right ahead and say that even if I fail to recover the funds from my wallet, I'll continue to do my best to repay everyone out of my own damn pocket.
35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P POSSIBLE SCAM. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: December 29, 2015, 10:50:54 PM
I will be able to sign a message in about 10 hours time.

36  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P POSSIBLE SCAM. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: December 29, 2015, 10:43:43 PM
I'm not going to bother with sifting through all the trash here.

So the person who posted with the account "jonesz" posted the following transaction claiming that it is the tx where the sale of my account took place:
https://blockchain.info/tx/61c3471d66a8b5f1cc61ede17545c14951ce96e5731f5c17846be175c11879aa

I was able to finally log in to my Bitstamp account today. This transaction matches one of my withdrawals from bitstamp to my wallet. There is a good chance that the wallet that contains this particular address has not yet been compromised. With that  I can definitely sign an address to prove that this is me.

The hacker signed a message using my "Bitcoin Stake Your Address Here" address. This address is in a separate wallet with zero funds which he has apparently taken control of, seeing as he signed a message with the address that has been validated by you guys.

The address in the above posted transaction is not in the same wallet. If I am right then the hacker should not have access to this wallet as it would not have been able to log my keys for that password, as I haven't used it at all in the weeks prior to my vacation. When I get back I will be able to check which addresses I can use to sign to prove my identity over whoever is on my account and whoever else posting here is claiming to be me.

Regardless, someone here is fucking with me and trying to screw me over. For those who keep asking why I couldn't post any announcement here that I'm going away, etc. is because I did not intend to have to be away from the forums for this long. My plans was to be able to log in remotely to complete escrow tasks once or twice a week. As that is usually the frequency of when I need to manually send out payments for sig campaigns and what not. I don't feel like I'm obligated to announce myself to everyone when I need to take time off, or just be a little less active than usual because of me having a life outside of this place.

Right now I am NOT turning on my computer remotely in the case that I am right about the hacker not having control over the escrow wallet yet. This is the best case scenario for everyone, because if that is true then I will have a better chance at reclaiming full control and be able to refund everyone's coins before the thief gets a hold of it.

Obviously some people on the forum really doesn't want to see this get resolved.

Are you thick? I didn't sell my account.

Some people seriously just want to bump their post count while only skimming through the thread without knowing the details.

At this point I don't think it matters who believes me or not.

If I can't restore access to my wallets to return everyone's funds, or the hacker succeeds in transferring the coins out of the escrow wallets then I will compensate everyone out of my own pocket at the best of my abilities.

My reputation has been tarnished. Scammer or not, my poor security practices to allow such an event to take place has forever ruined my reputation in this community. Therefore after I have (hopefully) resolved and repaid everyone, I will be leaving this community permanently. Regardless if I get "dox'd" or not. I am not a scammer, this whole thing is just a huge misfortune for everyone including myself.

Quoting.

Anyways, can you prove that you are the true master-P. This seems really fishy hearing this even though it's worth appreciation.

If there is an address I can find that I used here prior to these events, or in even any transaction then I will sign it.

I will be home in less than 2 days to try what I can. If I fail to recover the wallets/funds then I will work on paying everyone back out of my own money. I won't be able to pay everyone back right away but will work towards it at the best of my ability. After all is done I will disappear from this community. Assume that the master-P account will never be in my control again if it ever resurfaces for any reason. I'm not going to bother chasing it down at this point, no reason to recover it when the hacker can basically assume my entire identity with the information they've stolen.
