I misinformed before. For Litecoin mining, add +0.0002 to the end of your address/username to get litecoin diff one shares. Or higher diff shares if needed

+0.0004 = diff 2 shares
+0.0006 = diff 3 shares
+0.0008 = diff 4 shares
etc....

That should help out smaller Litecoin miners

JayCoin

man thank you so much. You seriously saved the day. ok this is what happened when i added the +0.0001 at the end of my user name. I am now getting 6 diff shares possibly due to high hash rate on the server. Im more than happy with that mr.jay thank you so much, this method of mining is the safest, and thats something you have to consider when your mining litecoins. All the major pools are being attacked obviously, so thank you nothing else is working. Just make sure people know they can control there share diff using that method to prevent more whining from a "small timer" like me.  Tongue

I need to verify the address at which my miner needs to be pointed to. http://ltc.kattare.com:9332 with my userworker name and password. so far its a no go but maybe im doing something wrong. seems like ur one of the last ones left standing

ok im connected. Jesus christ you guys have high share diff too, 31 atm. but least ur still standing. I will be loyal to this pool for that simple fact.

wow now i know why p2pmining pool on the litecoin side just spiked. all the freaking public pools are being dos attacked. what a shame. you people should be ashamed of yourself, your destroying something thats revolutionary and your disrespecting it by hacking innocent pool operators domains. i really hope people like you get caught and prosecuted. Im directly talking to anyone involved in the hacking of the litecoin public pools. Not anyone specifically here on this thread. just venting.

If you look at the average pay per share over the last week, we are very close to what it should be for the given difficulty.  This pay per share average includes stale shares.

While that may be the average, the PPS number has come down a fair bit aswell.

Most miners are now were below 20% *a few minutes ago*, but three are still at 100%. One of those has wasted many hours becaue of this.

If we're paid based on the effective mhash/s rate, what does pps have to with this ?

@Kanabis
Are you smelling what I'm smelling ? (I do not mean the herbs even though they do smell freakin sweet. Grin )

There are less than 100 blocks left before the 25btc chop happens.

Is it a coincidence that the few pools I monitor, all seem to be having production downturns and other problems ?

pEACe

all i know is that the share diff goes up as the hash rate increases making it impossible to be a small timer using this p2pmining pool method. im upset to say the least because I have been mining here for a long time. now im speaking about litecoins. im not sure what share diff on the bitcoin side is, or if that increases with hash rate but i was under the impression that diff shares remained 1 with no variance. imo 1 is too low and 3 is the sweet spot for less rejects. Now I could be totally wrong in all the assumptions i am making because I am just going with what i see rather than doing research and figuring it out myself. I am sorry if the allegations i am making are false.

Now the diff shares are over 100. No increase in blocks found. Decrease in litecoins also. I went from making 5-6 litecoins a day to under 2 current day. Yes I am aware that everyone is jumping to litecoin after the bitcoin reward halved but this shit started before the half. P2pmining pool has become unusable. I will take my 75khs else where thank you.

im getting high doa's on the litecoin side. also now that the litecoin side is 15x faster than it was a week ago why arnt we seeing an increase in blocks solved? i would expect to see some sort of increase with the top address running at 1mhs. also more hash we have in litecoin the higher the share diff is getting. im getting 20+ share diff and its not paying out the same as it was before. its making me switch to a pps pool until it starts paying like it was.

I liked p2p for the no variance in diff shares and the idea a small timer could still get a piece of a block. now the margins are too low to even bother with due to a couple bullies not announcing there solved blocks and basically mooching off the honest ones. please correct me if im wrong but it sure seems to be the case.

I would like to get lower diff shares on the litecoin side.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [12 Gh/s]P2Pmining.com-Hybrid P2Pool-NO FEE!!!-BTC/NMC/IXC/I0C/DEV/LTC on: November 25, 2012, 11:49:02 PM
my doa is ALWAYS under 10% running at 60-75 khs. but ever sense we got this new guy running over 1mhs im getting very high diff shares. its all working out to the same amount of payment and my doa is lower due to only processing high diff shares, instead of my router transmitting like crazy over 1diff shares its slowed down and i can loosen up some settings.

key tip for people using p2pmining litecoins. if your using newest cgminer press s for settings and in that list you'll see scantime expiry and queued. when im p2pmining 1 diff shares i set scantime to 1 expirey to 10 (which someone needs to tell me if that is the correct way of looking at stales, may be smarter to set higher like 240 for example) and queued to 0. with those settings also g-1 and v-2 with --failover-only those settings have dramaticly lowered my rejects and increased my share rate. almost by 50%more accepts and 50% less rejects.  thats what works for me, may not for you but its some settings to play around with for sure.

that didnt work. using cgminer 2.8.5. added +1 to user name/litecoin address and all cgminer does is request work.

I am not getting +1 diff shares. I was. But now im getting +15 diff shares due to someone running almost 1Mh's in litecoin. I thought this specific pool only handed out +1 diff shares and is there anyway I could setup my username ie, putting a +1 at the end of it so I can ONLY receive +1 shares? some of us litecoin miners are still using cpus to mine and its taking me 2 hours + to get 1 single share now Sad thank you

now what kinda attitude is that? thats like telling me to breath less lol. anyways im downloading avast as we speak. if i find a virus ill report back to hopefully save the next noob like me with the same problem. if its not a virus id still like someone to possibly explain to me what that error means, what its doing and obviously why its happening.

after my scan I am going to follow darkhyudra's advice and clear all litecoin files in the appdata roaming directory. iv already backed up my wallet so it should be no biggie.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / quick question. on: November 16, 2012, 08:52:37 AM
hello, I would have posted this in alternate currencies but I cant yet. This is my question. My litecoin client 0.6.3c-win32 is crashing on startup. this is the error I am getting.

A fatal error occured. Litecoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

exception: st9bad_alloc
std::bad_alloc
c:\users\Sxlosnman\desktop\litecoin-0.6.3c-win32\litecoin-qt.exe in runaway exception.

ok I have tried to re install and I keep getting the same error. this is puzzling because I had litecoin running on this system before

win 7 64bit  hd6670  dualcore amd athlon 2gig memory.

I have no idea what that error even means. is the file size trying to change ie a virus? Maybe someone with more technical knowledge can tell me more and maybe how to fix it.

I have absolutely no anti virus, I almost always know what im clicking but it wouldnt surprise me the slightest if I got one now, Ive been running alot of bitcoin and litecoin programs lately and I could dl'd something with a virus I dunno. What do you think? thanks in advance.

oh yeah have fun hacking my wallet which will take you days and yield you about 3 litecoins and ZERO bitcoins. have fun with that.

35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining with my 6670 on: November 07, 2012, 06:00:35 AM
Right on, yeah I've also used poclbm with f-60 for desktop use and f-0 for over night. I find phoenix works best for this particular card. Also yeah I wish I could have obtained a 1gb gddr5 version but I found the 2gb ddr3 for 54 bucks on new egg about 6 months ago and its sole intention was for gaming. It in fact has never let me down, I can play borderlands maxed out, deus ex, few others. not skyrim tho, almost maxed. well maybe before everyone gets scammed on these asic's I can find a "slightly used" 5xxx series someone is selling for cheap before everyone wises up and buys back there mining rig  Roll Eyes . Iv almost mined my first bitcoin. Iv mined a few litecoins. and im looking in to merge mining also.

thank you both for your input. you had my undivided attention Smiley
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining with my 6670 on: November 07, 2012, 05:20:34 AM
Hello, I am currently mining with a hd 6670 which sole purpose was to be a cheap and lite video card for modern gaming.http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-2.html  Little did I know for 54 bucks I could use this card to start mining my very first bitcoin. I am currently running at 121.5 Mhs using guiminer-phoenix:ASKRATE=1 WORKSIZE=128 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=5. sdk 2.2 catalyst 11.4 winxp 32bit over clocked 800mhz-850mhz 667mhz 2gb ddr3.

That seems the be the sweet spot that I can find using windows xp. sdk only supports up 2.3 for xp and I read that 2.1 is fastest. personally I just used 2.2 and it seemed to yield good results. Also I forgot to add in, my aggression is 5 because for some reason that is the sweet spot being1-4,,6-13 yield no hash increase with obvious framerate drop with higher aggression. Im not sure what that means but im sure someone could elaborate to me what each level of aggression is doing to my video card and why im not seeing an increase. I dont use phatk or phatk2 kernels because they only result in drop of hash speed. From what I've gathered at wiki I should be seeing 120 so I shouldn't complain and I'm not in fact I consider myself lucky being at aggression 5 I am able to use my computer like completely normal and depending on which kernel I use poclbm or phoenix Im even able to play some games. I keep my video card under 60c being hot to me and around about 55c and under. I want to use windows 7 64bit os to mine for various reasons. I can't achieve the results in win7 as I do in xp. I am about 10-15mhs lower in win7 64bit. I would also like to consider using a flash stick to boot to for mining when Im not using the computer my only problem doing that is I have read that the number of read and writes a flash stick can do is limited. From what I understand they could wear out? Maybe this is something I read blown out of proportion? In any case this is my setup for now, I would like to start using windows 7, any sweet spots for you may work for me so im interested in whatever your running more interested if your running 6xxx most interested if your running a 66XX and you got my full blown attention if your running a 6670 2gb ddr3 800mhz core  Wink

Im just starting out, Iv been mining for a couple of weeks, done tons of homework and I wish I had at least one 5970 Smiley
Thank you for reading, and your time. I value your input and pardon the grammar and spelling errors. Tongue
