21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will AMD Vega affect GPU mining? on: August 04, 2017, 02:57:18 PM
What...Dont be scared of that TDP.  Remember a Fury/Nano tdp is high as hell...yet it can be run smooth as butter for extremely low power usage.  I expect the same out of vega.

I have the nano. I only run them at -100mV, so it is quite efficient.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Manual mining possible??? on: July 26, 2017, 12:13:27 PM
Since you can post on Bitcointalk I assume that you at least have a CPU, mine with that.

You can mine Monero with CPU.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I start mining with just one Gpu? on: July 06, 2017, 01:47:46 PM
Starting to mine with one gpu is like having one tattoo..
You're almost certainly bound to add few more 😁

..and yes, speaking from experience, on both ends.

I had the same experience. i started from one, now have 6.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: California invested heavily in solar power. Now there's so much... on: June 30, 2017, 10:06:02 AM
I rather have nuclear power than the two.  Yeah the waste is problem but it does job better.

Something is wrong because PG&E didn't make any changes.  We still have the tier system.  I would pay .4cent per kwh on last tier.

I agree with that. It should reduce the electricity price.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Charting ETH vs ZEC Mining Profitability on: June 10, 2017, 06:32:34 PM
Because there are a million or so old GPUs like the Radeon 7970/280X which people bought and kept during the Litecoin mining days. That card performs very well only with ZEC and cannot mine ETH properly due to DAG memory limitations.

7950/7970/280x have enough memory to mine ETH. So it's not that.

Yes it is. Its not the memory capacity but the GCN limitation due to thrashing.

that is right. So the 280x is slower now as the dag file is bigger.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: June 02, 2017, 07:02:41 AM
Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?
I do store my bitcoins online regardless if it's huge or not. I'm confident for its security as my gmail has a 2fa security and also my wallet. Thus, there is no reason for my wallet to get hacked. Using hardware wallet is also great to use however, it's not convininent if you need it immediately.
Normally for us who want to use our bitcoin anytime we will prefer to hold it online.
I have my bitcoins secured in exchanges, that way I can buy altcoins when there is a dump and sell right away when the price recovers.

I do that for very small amount of bitcoin.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: May 11, 2017, 11:02:56 AM
i am storing my bitcoins in paper wallet. i think blockchain.info web wallet is not safe. you must move ur coin public internet. you can lost.
For me it's going to be a case to case basis, now that I only have a small amount of bitcoins I just prefer to store it in online excahange or online wallet and I make sure they have a good reputation to safeguard my assets. It came into my mind that if I save it offline and if there is something happen to my computer I might not be able to access it. Maybe I will just reevaluate my way as soon as I have more to safeguard.

I think it is quite risky to store the coins online even if there is small amount.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: May 01, 2017, 07:27:58 AM
Everyone wants a safeguard from BTC problems. Various candidates arose trying to be this. ETH has its problems, but it is the today's player on the court. The community has to check its pros and cons and decide if it is a viable option. There is no mistake that BTC can't do everything that the crypto world needs/expects/ to achieve as a problem solver.

That is right. I am thinking of moving some of my bitcoins into Ethereum.

If the bitcoin implemented large block size + segit, the price will rise.

That is possible true. The transaction fee is too high there.

I store my bitcoin on exchangers that is for capital trading altcoins and some bitcoin be puted on wallet online (usually be used for gambling game) i don't store much digital coins in bitcoin,
i just put digital coins on altcoins usually on ethereum because it has chance to growing up more than righ now and there is chance put digital coins in altcoins to make double my bitcoin.

I heard it is better not to put bitcoin in online wallet. So I store most coins myself.

At the start I earn Bitcoin, I only knew how to store Bitcoins online on the internet through Blockchain and Coinbase wallets. These are two types of wallets used to store Bitcoins online quite well, it is quite popular with everyone. Blockchain's transaction fees are quite expensive, but its security is pretty good. Coinbase too, previously Coinbase did not charge but now fees have been applied. Currently, I use a combination of both online storage and stored on a computer with software. In the future, I plan to store my Bitcoin through a device that is almost like usb, which is the Ledger USB wallet Cheesy

I always store the bitcoin in my own wallet. First I use QT, then Core, now the Unlimited wallet.

Hi everyone.
Please advice if 3-5% of stale shares in ethermine pool is fine.
Please also advice what are the best values for -ethi and -etht.

Thanx

3-5% of stale shares in ethermine pool is fine as the block time of the ETH is just 14s.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: March 15, 2017, 07:22:03 AM
ETH and DASH both seem to be having an over inflated pump.

Many will be burned like before.
Even BTC is taking a dive currently along with ETH and DASH...

The Ethereum has more active developments. So I think it will rise in the long term.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: March 04, 2017, 07:53:53 AM
Depends what you men crash, price drop by 30% to what currency, not o long time ago dollar was 1.35 to euro, now 1.05,does euro crash,.If will be devaluation than newdollar will created imply zeros will be deletad
As long USA will exist dollar will exist.I hope euro will crash and no exist anymore

If the price drops 30% in two years, that is not a crash. If that happens in 5 days, that is crash.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: February 21, 2017, 10:27:19 AM
I was thinking about this, what if the US Dollar crashes like speculated by many renowned economists around the world?
What will be it's affects on the beloved currency, BTC?

For sure all altcoin's owner and altcoin holder's will rejoice because most of their price value will increase going to the moon Grin
And Bitcoin will also be like skyrocket the price value too. But its not gonna happen for now due to we know many country in the whole world dollars is very useful to their economy in terms of business aspects.
Yes, the Probality is big. but Bitcoin still have a competitor, gold was being currency since long time ago. bitcoin and gold, one will be a replacement for the dollar if its crashes. so the price will go up like a rocket. the dollar is very strong and not easily crashes, maybe if the world war came again, the dollar is likely crashes. anything can be happen in the war.
Although USA is strong country but if God have another plan, no one can prevent God will. Also bitcoin still have chance to replace dollar

Personally, I don't doubt that gold (as a means of settling international accounts) will take the place of the US dollar

But it still doesn't mean that gold will be directly competing with Bitcoin. In fact, both of these assets will profit tremendously from the dollar demise, should it occur for real. It is unlikely that Bitcoin will be used as payment in international trade (though I've read here about guys from the US using bitcoins in their trade with Chinese folks), but there is no doubt that many people will run from the dollar into Bitcoin as well if things start turning grim for the former

The dollar will demise slowly. but in the short term, it is the major currency.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: January 03, 2017, 04:52:05 PM
I would prefer the offline one. There is no need to hassle thinking about hacks or different worms that could end up getting your accounts. The online thing have many holes in it. People are getting more knowledge about hacking just by youtube videos and it is getting riskier day by day.

It is better to do it offline. I have several USB disks.
36  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: December 23, 2016, 11:49:57 AM
I think bitcoin will replace if us dollars crash if ever it happens the one who have bitcoin will earn more profit but i think its very impossible because dollar is the main currency of U.S and it will affect their economy
It will never be, US dollar is strong. Let's imagine your scenario if US dollar crashes, it is not only the US country itself would get affected but also the entire world. US is one of the country with a great economy and we know that all.

Yes, dollar will never be ever crashed since there are many supports around it, and on depending on its economy. Dollar has been there for many decades

I also think same. I guess the dollar have the biggest and largest  market Cap  than bitcoin and so it is so impossible to happen so.
Bitcoin can beat US Dollar so easily.

i think bitcoin is not going to beat USD, bitcoin is mostly for online purpose, and still the use of bitcoin is not too much, as majority of people are not using bitcoin they even do not know anything about bitcoin, and those people who are using bitcoin they are also using it as secondary option and mostly they also use thier fiat currency.

In the futuere, 99% of the transactions will be online. So the bitcoin will be used more than the fiat.
37  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: December 13, 2016, 01:47:33 PM
If us dollar chrashes I think all people in the world will looking for the alternative way. People will not thrust to fiat any more. I think if they didn't use  use gold as payment methode they will use bitcoin.

I think we have the same opinion here. If dollar crashes, people will tend to look other investment option and I think there are significant people that will look after the bitcoin.Though not all but it is a plus factor for bitcoin to appreciate.

That is right. If the fiat or the dollar crashes, people will find that the bitcoin is the best alternative to have.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Want to buy a new minner on: December 04, 2016, 09:13:00 AM
it's better if you buy a gpu rig miner than asic, more profit less cost and you will roi eventually, and in any case it has a much better resale value

Plus it isn't limited to specific algorithms for mining so you can mine a bit of everything.

That is right. You can also sell it if you do not want to mine. The ASIC will have no resale value after a year.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 03:00:43 PM
So what's the eta on the next version?  Grin

It could be tomorrow. I think it is better for Calymore to produce a stable version for us, not many bugs.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: November 06, 2016, 06:29:58 PM
The United Kingdom Pound lost more than 20% of its value as a result of the Brexit. How much devaluation can occur to the United States Dollar, if Trump gets elected as the POTUS? I don't think that it will be 20% or 25% like the case with UKP. There will be a smaller devaluation, like 4% or 5%, as the USD market cap is much bigger when compared to that of UKP.

When the Trump is elected, there will be good economy ahead, so the US dollar could appreciate a lot.
