22  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: May 14, 2017, 05:26:31 PM
It is only true in case of new altcoin. We had great coins in the past Litecoin, Dogecoin, even Ethereum - as I remember ETH was founded by a crowdsale.

I can agree with Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I seriously doubt that the Ether ICO was completely sold to investors. I am not the only one with the thought of there being a huge load of Ether being fake sold, while they in reality were/are still in the hands of Vitalik & Co. It's pure speculation since there is no way to provide any actual proof to back it up, but everything around their ICO stinks.

btw ETH ICO price was 2000 ETH per BTC if i recall correctly, look at the current price. Roll Eyes

Correct. First stage was 2000 Ether to 1 BTC ratio -- 0.0005 BTC per Ether. Second stage was 1337 Ether to 1 BTC ratio -- 0.000748 per Ether. It's mind boggling how its price has gone completely nuts lately. 1 BTC today buys you only 22 Ethers, LOL!!!

Glad I mined some Ethereum from the beginning. I still keep some of the mined coins.
23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: USA citizen - how can I buy/sell btc without using Coinbase or LocalBitcoins? on: April 27, 2017, 06:13:13 AM
Wall of Coins allows same day purchase with cash of BTC and Dash. You search on the page what the local offers are and which bank to deposit the cash.

Going to the bank can be a major PITA (pain-in-the-ass) in my area. So many people!

I tried bank deposit once at a BofA. I was told the branch would not allow me to deposit in another person's account.

Would that be the same as transferring money to another's account?
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: April 12, 2017, 03:21:17 PM
i think this is what is happen in the market, people wants to raise their capital by sold their altcoin stock so they can have much more bitcoin and then they can exchange from bitcoin into fiat. i think its normal condition when we see that we can make big money by selling our bitcoin and this is what i am doing too when i look bitcoin price is increase high. if bitcoin price is increase then altcoin will be down for a moment and wait after bitcoin gets stable price and gets up again.

If the Core developers do not increase the block size, the price will not be much higher.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: April 06, 2017, 11:12:52 AM
Until they realize the mempool is still full and transactions still take hours to verify (literally).

I don't think this recovery is going to last for very long until some drastic changes are made.

When the Core change the PoW as suggested by the core developer and activate the SW, then the price will drop a lot. I think altcoin is much safer.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - optimized X11/X13/NeoScrypt/Lyra2RE/etc. kernel-switch miner on: March 15, 2017, 06:05:17 PM
I've been mining for about 4-5 months. Built 2 rigs from scratch with 10 MSI 470s, primarily mining ETH, XMR & DCR during that time. After being away about a month for work, I started doing to research and realized that Dash prices have gone through the roof since Dec'16.  This got me interested in mining Dash of course. I quickly learned that there are now ASICs to mine Dash/X11 and I am seriously considering trying at least 1 of the Baikal miner since the ROI period is currently only about 3 months.

However, what I was wondering is if the recent advent of ASIC has really totally killed GPU mining of Dash or if it still could be more profitable that GPU mining XMR, for example.  I have 1 6-card rig dedicated to ETH/DCR but would consider moving my XMR rig to Dash if more profitable.  So, does anyone know about what hashrate a 470 4GB is capable of pulling mining Dash... and also what wattage it pulls?  Yes, I know i could try it myself but I would prefer not to waste the time if the answer is an obvious no. Thanks for any advice in this area!

Do not use graphics card to mine Dash. You will not make any profit.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.2 (Windows/Linux) on: March 02, 2017, 06:20:35 PM
Holy Cow!

ZEC at $40.78 USD!

Holy Cow Part 2!

ETH at $ 18.65 !

DASH passed ZEC and Dash Hits 58USD today.  it became a second altcoin after Bitcoin at the moment.
it's unbelievable.

The Dash market cap is still lower than Ethereum.
28  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want to buy bitcoins on: February 23, 2017, 07:50:49 AM
If you want that you can do it, its not something that is really hard to do in my eyes because there are enough sellers for the bitcoin.
i think he is just asking that either it is still good time to buy bitcoin or not , because the price is trading so high now.
Yup OP is looking for this, But I think this is not the time to buy bitcoins because the BTC have very high fluctuation in price. Day by day it is showing a huge variation in price. No one will sell bitcoin less price so better for some time once the price is stable then start to buy bitcoin. I hope this month end the price may stable at one rate let's see what happen.
yes that is right and to me i think it is still the best time to buy bitcoin,  because trading bitcoin below 1000 USD means that the price of bitcoin has still good potential to increase. therefore i will suggest you to  buy bitcoin in the current rate and do not miss the time.
Good point of view when bitcoin bitcoin price below to 1000$ then its good price and good time to buy bitcoin and you see that bitcoin price rising every day too much faster so it will be much more profitable for you if you buy bitcoin as sooner.
i also think that still it is good time to purchase bitcoin and if you have already bitcoin then you should it and not to sell or invest it anywhere else. because the price of bitcoin can boost up any time. and may then you cannot find the opportunity to but bitcoin, therefore i will suggest you that still it is good time to buy bitcoin and hold it tell the price increase.

If the price goes down? What is our situation? There is no guarantee in Bitcoin price this truth everyone knows, and the price of BTC is now near to 900$. We can not predict the tomorrow bitcoin price, so my advice doesn't buy any coins now with this price it is such a high price. If you buy more than 1 BTC and the price go 1k+$ then only it is profitable that too only 100 or 200$ profit.
but i think if the price of bitcoin is trading below 1000 USD then it is the best time. and you can invest your money. because i can expect that the price of bitcoin can good more and more high therefore i think long term investment will be more profitable as compare to short term investment.
bitcoin are going to reach its price to 1000 USB in few days because bitcoin price increasing too much quick so you should invest your money in bitcoin in current because bitcoin will be more increasing its price too much faster.
That is why I am suggesting all my friends nowadays to invest in bitcoin as much as possible as sooner to not to waste time. Last time I suggested to some of my friends they were willing to invest their money in bitcoin but then the price of bitcoin increased up and they lost the chance now they know that yes it will increase in value so they are in hurry to invest in bitcoin. You also have to hurry in that matter so that you do not miss the opportunity.

I tell my friends about bitcoin, but they do not care much.
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want to buy bitcoins on: January 06, 2017, 11:04:41 AM
Hey , i want to buy bitcoins with my credit card , what legit site that i can trust can help me?
Thanks.
I haven't experienced this but I would suggest that is better to do some research about your queries. Then read feedback of that site you are going to. Better to do is to read and read and read.

for buying bitcoin with credit card, i think its not safe because we are giving out our details which is vulnerable to other people to see and they can stolen our credit card number. but i think there are any site available for the member which want to buy bitcoin like cex.io but for the security, i don't know how good they are. why you are not buying bitcoin from your friends around in your city? i am sure that you can find your friends that selling and buying bitcoin so you don't have to used your credit card.

It is better to buy in exchanges.

my system running 1400sol/700watt= 2sols/watt
What cards do you have?

That could be the R9 nano.
31  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: December 19, 2016, 05:32:20 PM

this is the only cloudmining site i can say, for sure, is not a scam.

the only thing i've invested in before was the s5's and i made a nice profit.  even if you barely reach roi, you can have the miners shipped to you after the cloudmining shuts down ... and then resell them.

I am quite confused when i visit the site does it really requires you to put 1btc to for your contracct? and to be able to start mining using the power that you have purchase? or is there any way to mine without sending 1btc

You are probably looking at their PACMIC-contract, which indeed costs 1 BTC each.

It is possible to start cloudmining for a rough 5k satoshi (0.00005 BTC), which are the current market prices for S7-hashpower per each Gh.
(sign-up, login, and then check under "Hash" on the left side to see these possibilities)

But the difficulty is rising too fast. It might not be profitable soon.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z.cash mining is up! What you using? What you getting? BTC/ZEC whichever. on: November 24, 2016, 08:43:44 AM
Switched my old workhorse I built for mining. MSI 7850 hD 2GB on motherboard sharing vid with mining ( Intensity turned down to 15) and one - R9 270X 2 gb and Two MSI R9 270X 4GB on risers all running Intensity 20.

Windows 7 - 64 bit, MSI 970 -G46 with AMD X3 455,  8 GB Ram ,  15.12 amd drivers.
Running Claymore's first zcash miner on flypool

GPU 0 30.9
GPU 1 35.44
GPU 2  34.79
GPU 3  24.4
total 125.59

drops as low as 121~124 but temps are good, everything box stock, never over clocked or under volted and for what I have invested I'm pretty happy.

The HD 7850 was part of five I used to have and had sold off 4. The R9s were bought used.  May tinker with it when I get a chance. Originally rigged out for Ethereum but had been switched off.

Be aware that there is a 2.5% miner fee built-in to Claymore's miner. Although it works supremely well on old AMD cards.

For the time being, you can use the Claymore miner as it is the fastest open usage miner. The fee is OK.

Can someone tell me if sgminer supports scrypt algorithm?
I have rx480 rigs and it is the only one that supports rx480 for other algorithms.

Do not mine scrypt with RX 480. It is not profitable. The Scrypt is only profitable to mine with ASIC.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z.cash mining is up! What you using? What you getting? BTC/ZEC whichever. on: October 28, 2016, 08:11:56 PM
I have some hash at genesis mining.
anyone without a rig can rent one using my referrals in my sig. thanks Smiley

If you want to rent the hashing, it is cheaper to rent it from the Nicehash. That could be 5 times cheaper.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Ethereum actually the only cryptocurrency worth GPU mining? on: October 23, 2016, 10:04:09 AM
I heard the SIAcoin is most profitable to mine at the moment. But the Etheruem difficulty  is still rising.

It's not profitable at all. I mine it using claymore's miner while dual mining, but just mining Sia alone is a waste. 1000 Sias are worth 0.52cts currently...at 1.4Gh/s, it takes me 2-3 days to round up 5000 of those, def not worth it, only if you have free electricity maybe.

However, once Sia get their software a bit more user-friendly and do some more advertising, they could become the new dropbox and be worth a lot more than now. I personnaly keep my Sias for the time being.

You are right. With the increase of the difficulty in the past month, if the trend continues, it will not be profitable soon.

It does not matter too much. We will have the ZCash to mine in the next 5 days. That could make somebody rich.
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want to buy bitcoins on: October 04, 2016, 07:40:51 AM
You can use ewallet like Payza or Payeer , link it with your card and purchase bitcoins simply with this ewallet. And you can using the currency exchange in this forum as well

You are suggesting for  longer process, the better and convenient way is to select those exchanges where debit cards are easily accepted for buying bitcoins, just like cex.io , there you can buy bitcoins at a lowest fees.

That is right. You can also use the debit cards to buy in the Coinbase. The Coinbase also has Etheruem.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Ethereum actually the only cryptocurrency worth GPU mining? on: September 20, 2016, 05:06:52 PM
Miners are also mining other profitable coins such as Feathercoin, Vertcoin, Siacoin and Decred, anything profitable.

Miners are mainly mining the Ethereum as that one has the biggest market cap and there are more buying.

The combined Ethereum has over 4500 GH/s. That is a huge amount of hashing. Hundreds of million are involved.

Today, even the ETH alone has a hash rate of 5700 GH/s. It seems the miners are very confident the price will rise.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Ethereum actually the only cryptocurrency worth GPU mining? on: September 05, 2016, 07:14:30 AM
My electricity is too high. If the difficulty rises another 50%, there will be no profit at all. So I will not expand.

The difficulty of the Ethereum has dropped a bit in the last few days. I think it will be more profitable to mine now.
39  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: August 26, 2016, 07:19:44 AM
I do not ever try to buy bitcoin because i do not use bitcoin as investment i only want is to earn and after i has a pretty good income i will exchange and spend anywhere i want.

so you never thinking bitcoin will be rise again ? i think better you learning about bitcoin trading or maybe earning, it's good way to growing your money.

Different people have different opinion. From my personal experience with the bitcoin, it rose more than 10 times in the last 3.5 years.
40  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long you in bitcoin world? on: August 05, 2016, 05:02:35 PM
I started mining bitcoin in 2013, only use the graphics cards. Then I mine altcoins and buy bitcoins.
