21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENT] Eternity - X11 - No Premine on: January 08, 2018, 05:30:38 PM
Have had a mn running for months... just checked it and it hasn't gotten a reward in 2 weeks. Looks like a syncing issue, any getting a full sync?

Had to resync from scratch to get it working... took about 45 min.

Anyone?

When new wallet is going to be ready? Old wallet seems to scare people off. Is it even worth fixing?

Maybe when current chain reaches block 1188888 the new wallet will be ready.

Or maybe on January 8th 2018.

I don't know, but it sounds like it is coming up soon, I'd love to hear a firm date myself if anyone's got it, but understand if this is still unknown.

The old wallet isn't being "fixed", it is being "replaced" by an entirely new codebase (PIVX v3), so anyone scared off over the years will find it a much more pleasant experience once the new code/chain are implemented.

Don't know about the scared off, the price has really been on fire lately. Love it!

I think they should add more people to their team, maybe a more moderator in their forum, or more bounties and events to make things more lively and active. It would be cool if they've become more active to people. To be honest, Quark is not getting much attention so I think something needs to change.

Plan is for masternodes with budgeting in order to supply development funding - this can include things like bounties. Quark was not premined at all so there is simply not a fund for this sort of thing currently, and historically these sorts of things were run from donations which is hard to keep going indefinitely as it constantly relies on people's generosity and typically its always the same people donating.. Anyone who wants to get involved and help can do so - the easiest place to do this from is the Slack, where people are working on a new website, etc.

Can we get a slack invite?

I would like to know where the team communicates. Is there any Discord or Slack I can join?

I've been syncing my wallet for two days now and still have 5 weeks left. The wallet still freezes from time to time though.

I would like to know if there is a recent chainstate that I can download to speed things up?

There is supposedly a working Slack channel. But, I was kicked off for asking honest questions about the team and stating fact. Good luck getting an invite... and if you do, don't ever ask a hard question or say ANYTHING negative about the team, or they will kick you off.

There is a community Discord channel, but it's pretty dead right now.

Ok, sure. Which version of PIVX are you looking for?

v3.0 and higher they have been experiencing a lot of problems. After the implementation of zerocoin protocol.

v2.3.1 and earlier were a lot more stable

Bah, recently I jumped into v3 and I more and more convinced we should proceed with the newer version. v2 is abandoned and no longer maintained (last commit almost 3 months ago).

Anyone against?

Nope, proceed.

Been running now for 4 days, trying to stake (following all the instructions) and no coins. Is this normal?

how many coins are you staking?

88,000 coins staking.

Well if you have 88000 coins staking i guess coin age will be a factor too. Perhaps someone else can tell you 100% if they you should see some staking by now. But 88000 is quite a few

They're also very old... 81,000 of them are just over 2 years old.
It would seem you have the right ingredients to stake a coin within a day or two.
Are you sure your wallet complies with one of the following?:
1. Never been encrypted.
2. If encrypted - unlocked while you are staking.

In addition check that last block time is close to your computer's time.

Yes and Yes.

When I first started it up it staked 3 times. Then , almost a week now with nothing.

Got a say.... there have been issues with this coin, BUT, as 8-bit-Party points out, that's just crypto, seriously.

I'm running 10 nodes on low end vps's. Yes, they are all Linux and yes, I do have to attend to them, but again, that's crypto!

I'm actually generating about 18.2 coins per day from my 10 nodes (1.82 each) and at current prices, that's $5.34 per day. Not bad, after I subtract out the cost of the vps's I'm clearing $3.99 per day. I'll take that any day... and wait for the new wallet and functionality that will only increase the price/value.

Take his suggestion and learn some basic Linux skills, it really is quite simple and there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of tutorials on the net.

Can't wait for the new wallet! Go 8-Bit!

Are both the block explorers down?
Uh, the blocks provider was muted. Should catch up within few minutes.

Cool, thanks.

Been running the daemon (quarkd) for almost 2 days now with 88K coins staking and no rewards. How long does it take to get a reward?

how long have your coins been sitting for without moving them to another address?

Over a year. Did get one stake 4 days ago when I was running the qui qt wallet, but nothing since restarting 2 days ago with just the daemon.

I would stick with the QT for the moment, as I know that works.

How often do you get rewards?

Can I mint by just using the daemon (quarkd)?
