looks like monday I will be taking my S7's offline and putting 4 S9's online! Woot!

on another note, does anyone use genesis mining? Is it worth it to buy a couple of those x11 contracts and point them at the pool, or is it a waste of time?

lol, I will leave them an the "other" place for the night and see how things go. I hope i'm wrong, I'd hate to be "that" guy.

I normally leave my miners on this pool, I like this pool, I like what it stands for, but when I was learning about this things work, I'd move my miners and boom a block from kano.

How can I tell if my miners are causing issues?

I moved my 4 S7's over to bitmain.

it seems every time I move them kano hits a block!

I sure hope it's not my miners causing the issues.

I'm securely behind a firewall..could this really be a thing???

rentals are cheap today boys. get them while you can.

Rentals from where? I have zero experience with rentals and trying to figure that piece out, I normally just mine with 4 S7's

Well...moved all my miners back from antmine....something is not right, my 24 hour pay out period doesn't equal what i'm actually getting paid unless I'm missing something, either way my payouts on here were about 30-50% better....and they suck, so theres that too.

Time to set it and forget it!

I guess what i'm hoping for, is to show that kano is the place to be, so others that are learning like I am don't have to try and figure it out on their own or go by here say. I'm just trying to gather some facts that hopefully are in favor of kano!

I don't know yet. I'm doing this as an experiment for myself and to share what I learn.

I've got both depositing to separate wallets as well to see how that balances out.

I'm using PPLNS payouts on both pools....

it seems like antmine may payout more but it's REALLY early to see. I think I need to let it run like this for 2 weeks to let things balance out and see how it goes. can't really rush this lol

I *think* kano ahs the potential to pay out more, as long as luck is on their side, but antmine seems to be very flat with payouts. no more no less. kano can have lots of peaks and valleys. hence the need for an average.

Just a quick update of my test as my miners start to normalize here.

My 2 miners on antpool are doing approx .0470btc per 24 hours.
My 2 miners on ck are averaging 9.45THs and getting about .008BTC per block.

I need kano to find approx 5.875 blocks per 24 hour period to make what I make on antminer.

I've only been back on antmine for about 2 full days, and I was on ck for about a week.

We'll see if there is anymore normalization to be had after another week or so.

Hey Guys, i'm kinda new to the game here. I've been playing around with 4 s7's for a couple weeks now. I own an IT company with our own data center so we are kind of running an experiment with these 4 to learn more about pools with multiple machines, how to manage multiple machines etc.

I've read about why to use kano vs antmine and I fully support that. but as we build a business plan to invest in hardware etc to go big ~150 machines. The problem i've had so far, and keep in mind this is over the last 2-3 weeks.... I get better results with antmine.

With my 4 boxes I can do a steady and predictable 0.1btc with my 4 miners. On here the last few days i'm lucky if i'm getting 0.05.

Am I missing something?

Another question I have is with a machine that finds a block. Does that user get a larger reward or what happens?

I'm aware of the halving, we're working to build experience and knowledge so we can make a very good educated decision on how to move forward after the halving and the potential new hardware.

Kano, we're in canada also and own two smaller data centers, we should chat about a canadian node?

Thanks in advance!

Well why not do  50-50    for 30 days.

½ at kano.is with antpool as back up
½ at antpool with kano.is as back up

compare each 30 day shot.

long term kano.is has had better results  but running 150 machines cost money for manpower and electric power.

a 10 day cold streak is more likely to happen here
but antpool has had cold streaks.

so a 50-50 mix of the two is more likely to smooth variance better and you can at least say you are doing 50% morally correct.  I define morally correct as trying to go long term with the game not kill the goose for the golden eggs.

after 3x 30 day comparison test you can reevaluate . your deployment.

I am smaller then your setup will be even if I fill the solar array with buysolar

we are going to do 13 to 16 kwatts  which is 60th max with current generation.

I switched my miners to have two on kano and 2 on ant mine. i'll leave them go for 30 days and see what the results are. I can see the payout here getting better as I stay on, but the found blocks aren't steady. So we'll see what happens. it's looking to me right now that my 4 machines are maching about 0.05btc per day and on antmine I was getting 0.1 per day.

I'm using pplns payout on antmine as well.

I can tell you one reason why i bought the s7 was because they made it easy. And the easiest part being new to the game was they sold the power supply. I looked at the avalon and while I was new and trying to figure out who was a legit place to buy from, bitmain made it easy.

As I learn more, I may not go that route in the future, but like I said, right now i;m keeping my pool small so I can learn before I go big.

We own an IT company, so this kind of falls right in our laps, we have staff with free cycles that can help manage and maintain, so my costs are very low compared to others. As long as we do it right we could do well!
