21  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Kodak Coin on: January 21, 2018, 02:09:21 PM
Hallo zusammen

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses myetherwallet? on: January 21, 2018, 01:59:52 PM
I use it, but I am not too familiar with it. Works all smoothly though. And I do not think there are too many alternatives out there with such good working tool at hand. So I will continue using it, as long I do not find a way better one.

Who uses this wallet? - https://www.myetherwallet.com/
What say about him?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will explode after the upcoming hard fork of EtherZero? on: January 21, 2018, 01:56:15 PM
According to Mark Johnson, in Quora, "It is possible that Ethereum’s price will increase after the EtherZero (ETZ) hard fork on the 19th of January"

What do you think?

Now we have the 21. of January and no big moves to the upside have been made, except from the rallying back but that more a relief move after the signficant pullback that the price had been going through beforehand.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 predictions for Digital Currencies in 2018 on: January 21, 2018, 01:54:26 PM
Especially the first point

1. More institutions will get into cryptocurrencies.

should be considered as a good thing.

This way more funds come in and also the user cases of the coins will grow!

 2. There will be more regulation and bitcoin’s price will drop.

That is something which we can feel at the moment already.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to Cashout on: January 21, 2018, 01:52:02 PM
Hello.

I am new to this world and made nice profit. What's the best way to cash out?

Thanks,
L//

Depends on where you are from. You can use exchanges like Kraken or if you are German also bitcoin.de or you might find a similiar page for your region/country.
Of course, you can also try to find somebody in your region for a 1:1 exchange, but this brings certain risks too, so do your research beforehand.

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: January 21, 2018, 01:36:27 PM
I personally believe that ripple has a bright future, but it wont the currency of the future. But it may be used by bank and for trades between banks .. maybe more as a security asset than as a currency. But the team is very talented, I met a few of them on the blockchain expo in Germany.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Airdrops Profitable? on: January 21, 2018, 01:34:04 PM
You will find both kinds of airdrops. Pump and dumps and also good working projects, which want to spread the news, spread their coins and initiate an interest and demand for the coin. I guess you will have to be out on the lookout quite a while in order to find the projects and patience until the airdrops than kick in. Further patience in regards to holding the coins until the interest sparks etc.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative Block Chains : be safe! on: January 21, 2018, 01:26:11 PM
I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

Cheers for this overview of certain safety features each one should check for himself before. In exitement one can do quick a couple of things, which in the end cause harm, as one just acted in a rush not checking basic safety features. Cheers!
32  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: January 21, 2018, 12:32:19 PM
Whether its bitcoin trading or altcoin trading, there is bound to come a time when your investment is getting dumped badly, and its panic time.
How do you panic? Does that really make you panic and do you take decisions that you actually regretted later? Or do you keep calm and HODL?
What makes you panic and how do you react to it?

My panic just took place in my head, while I did not react in terms of selling or changing the portfolio, looking back selling would have not been the badest behauviour. But for most of my investments I planned to stick with them for a longer period, so I did not see the recent pullback as a trigger to sell.

33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which coin safe for trading? on: January 21, 2018, 12:29:31 PM
hlw guys what's up?
I need help.
I have 0.05 btc in coinbase
I want to trade and earn extra btc
so guys suggest me which marke and which coin I buy for trading
Thanks

Just look at the recent pullback in all the markets. Unfortunely you cannot say coin X is one for risk averse traders or investors as if offers a stable price and linked to that a low return. All of these coins are very volatil. This is not the trading of securities where you do can find these two variables, stable price and inflow of relatively small returns
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Google spreadsheet for keep track of crypto on: January 21, 2018, 12:26:30 PM
Cool. Lovely that you ask. As such a tool can be great value I will check this site to see if any other users come up with handy tools to use, which are rich in analysis functions etc.

Where can I find a good google spreadsheet where I can keep track of few cryptos?
Online I found few but all of them miss something that I need and have the other things.

I'd like to have a "portfolio" section, if possible with pie chart. Here to see the gain and losses of my investments.
An history sheet where I can add the trades with the price I bought/sold so it can be used to show gain and losses in the main page.
A sheet or column with the actual value of each coin.
Value of each coin shown in BTC, USD, EUR.

I tried:

All of them are great but while trying to modify to my need, they all gave me some sort of error.
Any input is really appreciated. If you could share your (empty) spreadsheet that would be a good way to improve and personalize ours.

PS. I'm already using blockfolio, I need a google spreadsheet.

update: added links to the spreadsheets
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin traders, why don't you just trade forex? on: January 21, 2018, 12:24:00 PM
+ plus, there is another factor which weighs heavy. In FX most brokers are market makers .. meaning the quote the markets and one basically trades against them. In crypto you use spot exchanges meaning the goods acutally are handed over (unless you use leverage of course).
But trading against a financial institution is not so attractive.

Just look at how the crypto markets have performed lately .. some coins multiplied their value. If one would had traded FX the likelyhood of such a talent, that he or she actually managed to multiply the account by this multiplicator is so tiny. With trading FX most of the behauviours which worked out in the cryptomarkets lately - buying and holding - would soon have caused a total damage to the FX account. If you are leveraged and you hold on to losing positions .. your FX account will not last very long.

37  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HAASBOT review on: January 21, 2018, 12:17:10 PM
Ahh that is sad to hear. Seems like you wasted some money. I hope you get a refund, but by the way you desribe it seems not very likely that you will have this luck. In regards to bots my opinion is there is no golden path, depending on the market phase, the volume etc. one bot works well, the other does not .. etc and when market dynamics change this can differ quite fast.

Good Luck Andrey!

I bought this crappy software for 1400$ FOR A 3 MONTH LICENSE (MOST PROFESSIONAL ONE) when bitcoin was like 17000$.

Only to find out that:

= Their forum is dead. Even closed forum has no valuable information. Many "guides" with promising end were promised years ago without any advance.
= Their bot doesn't make any money which is absolutely ridicolous for this kind of money. There are so many professional companies who would rent you a VERY profitable bot for FOREX or other markets, that actually make %% daily for MUCH LESS. So I expected at least the same.
= MOST IMPORTANT and I claimed refund based on this
I saw the exchange I'm registered at (CEX) in the list of supported markets. BUT IT DIDN'T WORK! Stephan (probably the owner) told me it's not haasbot problem, but CEX. In the end it was only my problem, because I waited a few weeks to see that obviously problem is LONG KNOWN, but they are ready to sell the bot, but not ready to refund or acknowledge their mistakes: which is to inform buyers that something is not working for MONTHS!

I asked for AT LEAST a partial refund. No reply for a week.

So here goes this review. GOOD LUCK!
38  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dealing with dishonest bitcoiners on: January 20, 2018, 05:29:20 PM
Unfortunetly the amount of dishonest bitcoin users is very high. People believe they are anonymous and are out for a quick buck.
They come up with all sorts of ideas and scams in order to receive more BTCs .. and most of the times they get away with it. That keeps them going and lurrs further of this kind into Bitcoin  and co..

Hello there,

I've been doing business on a bitcoin classifieds site and recently I sent bitcoins to a user who was selling a Motorola Xoom. He claims that I never sent him the bitcoins but I have 261 confirmations now and I've even got the block explorer pages pulled up detailing his shady behavior. He received the bitcoins and two hours later sent them to another address.

What can I do to prevent this kind of thing from happening again? What do users typically do? Are we reliant on an honor code here?

Thanks for any input you have.
39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: January 20, 2018, 05:24:55 PM
For me that would certainly be way to risky and then again if one would of had done this a few years ago the amount of earnings, which could be realised now ..

but I consider myself as quite risk averse, so that is why this would not be something that I could do.

If you do so though, much luck and good nerves!

I am thinking .. to put all my money in bitcoin what do you think? is it a good way to grow my money? or it is risky or.. ?
40  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex with MT4/MT5 on: January 20, 2018, 05:21:40 PM
That will not happen anytime soon as the MT4 is made for FX, for fx brokerage firms even getting their commodity or share cfds listed on the plattform is a pain thing to do. Technically it is certainly possible, it requires work, but I do not see this happening anytime soon .. no, not even in the future, but never say never

I have seen SimpleFX used on MT4 but not Bittrex does anyone know if this is possible? Or anything similar to monitor all the Crypto markets in one panel at the same time on Bittrex.

Thank you.
