They have had the wrong account balance for me for several days.
They have deducted coins from my account, but never sent the transaction.
I don't know they are a scam, but they are at least incompetent. I'm hoping the coins show up soon.

Wait until you try to get your BTC out of coinbase and it takes 24-72 hours. It's worse than fiat.

Hi,
This graph is very useful. I would like to make similar graphs to explain how changing parameters in bitcoin would effect the bitcoin economy. Could you explain how you made that?
Thanks, Jacob

looks like there's one right now. There's a $1 million wall to get past 75, the equivalent of 100k BTC at $10.

$70 today? why lowball, tomorrow try $80 or $90
At the rate it is going, I would not be surprised. Heck lets go for $100 by tax day! Also, Coinbase is down and they haven't had any available BTC for a couple of days now. I knew March was going to be a crazy month, but this is beyond what I imagined! I've been able to buy from coinbase in the late morning hours, Pacific time. I've been trying every couple of hours, but that was when it worked.

The real reason the price went flat before was because Mt.Gox's servers were dying. The software glitches stalled the speculative bubble. It was a blessing in disguise.
It isn't going to flatten out now until it hits the bottom.

Huh, I'm surprised you never ran into it before. I spent last night sleeping in shifts so that I could wake up and see if their coins were back in stock. They couldn't have been available for more than 3 or 4 hours last night.
I'm having a different problem with them. They did some server maintenance today and now transactions from my coinbase wallet aren't showing up in the blockchain. At least it's auditable, so I can prove to them they haven't sent it yet.
It's a good service, but they haven't figured out how to keep up with demand yet.

litecoin is an interesting altcoin. There is some real experimentation with the hashing algorithm.
My passion is creating an alt with a different monetary policy than the BTC small fixed quantity approach. I'm trying to decide between the litecoin and bitcoin hashing algorithm. Thoughts?

I'd love access to the dev forum. I'm working on a BTC website and a new cryptocoin.

I wrote a post about how to protect bitcoin from political agents here: http://jacobexmachina.blogspot.com/2013/03/how-to-protect-bitcoin.htmlThe idea is that if we can convince politicians to accept bitcoin when fundraising for their campaign, then they can't turn around and attack it because it would make them look bad. $2 billion was raised for the 2012 Presidential election. If 1% of that was raised through bitpay, then bitcoin would be safe from attack. I also list some politicians who have been friendly to tech issues and might be open to accepting bitpay/coinbase.

I don't know, but I am feeling silly for paying down some 20% APR short-term credit last month instead of buying more bitcoin!

I want to make a application that can make bitcoin transactions (like Satoshi dice or Mt. Gox). What's the best server-side BTC client solution? I'm looking at node-bitcoin: https://github.com/jb55/node-bitcoinBut I'm also open to a good python solution. Thoughts?

I just sold everything except my profits from buying over the last two weeks. Now I'm playing with free money.

Is it possible to create a bitcoin ETF like this one for the British Pound? https://www.google.com/finance?q=fxbThe idea is that the price of the ETF shares track the value of the currency, but you can trade the ETF shares on stock exchanges.

hi... is it possble to buy 1 bitcoin through bit instant?
im confused about there minimums.
i have like 40 u.s dollars.
im looking to buy like 1.2 bit coins with it.
any advice how i can do this... so i can get some bit coins in my wallet?
If you have a US bank account, coinbase is probably the easiest to use. It takes a few days to settle a trade, but you get your initial buy price locked in when you order the trade.
