21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My decision on bitcoin on: May 18, 2024, 11:12:25 AM
You are in the right decision. Now is the golden time to buy Bitcoin.  After holding Bitcoin in 2024, it has fallen significantly from the ATH value.  But if you invest and keep it for a long time, it will surely increase.  No one can say exactly how many years it will take.  You want to sell your mobile and invest in Bitcoin, I welcome your initiative.  Because you want to sell one asset to make another asset.  If you are lucky, you will definitely get an opportunity to buy an expensive iPhone instead of a mobile phone.  Don't panic if you see a lot less money than you made.

I don't think you have been following the market or have any awareness about it because the market hasn't yet fallen significantly from the ATH because the new ATH was a little above $73k and Bitcoin is trading above $66k right now, so that is just a difference of $6k which I don't think is a significant difference when it comes to Bitcoin and its volatility.

There is nothing wrong if someone buys Bitcoin at this point because we are still anticipating a bull run in the next couple of years so if that happens, those who are buying Bitcoin at current price will still get to have a lot of profit from their investments regardless of the fact that they could get more if they had bought earlier but some people were probably not around when it was cheaper.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: May 18, 2024, 05:30:42 AM
this really made us remember the good old days when we were just starting on our crypto journey, I was really proud and happy back then everytime that I would earn even a small amount.

I can always relate to such things. I remember the first time when I converted my earned Bitcoins to fiat and bought something for myself, everyone in the family were shocked and surprised because they used to think I was playing games on my computer all the time while I was working and accumulating Bitcoin from here and there, and when I finally sold them and bought myself a treat, it was surprising for them all.

I was extremely proud as well because it was the first time when I had bought something for myself with my own money and didn't take money from my parents or elders to buy what I wanted. Whenever I looked at it, it made me smile because I used to realize that it is mine and I bought it with money that I earned myself. It is a great feeling.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: May 17, 2024, 07:11:22 PM
It won’t go above 70k usd. Now Bitcoins will take good amount of time in price correction. They will take time to settle and blend the price. We might see sever price fluctuations between 60-70k usd range. That’s pretty normal I would say. Moreover I will treat this price segment as an opportunity to buy the coins for cheap. I know Bitcoins are very rare, hence it will be ideal to accumulate as many coins as we can in this comparatively low price.

What makes you say that the price won't go above $70k and it will keep circulating within the current range? I don't see any strong resistance levels up here to make that happen other than the resistance at $70k itself which if it crosses then it will head towards a new all-time high, probably.

When it comes to buying, I would suggest you use the DCA method and don't keep buying within the same price range, if you have bought once between $60k and $70k, then you should wait to see if the price breaks below $60k and creates another buying opportunity or it will break above $70k and mark a new all-time high.

I guess only time will tell, we can only speculate and make predictions, but in reality, we need to be ready for any outcome as anything can happen.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: R7 Promotions IPL CONTEST2024 🏏 & DISCUSSION on: May 15, 2024, 12:46:00 AM
So status of IPL so far is that Rajisthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders already qualified for next round while CSK,SRH and Delhi will compete to secure third or fourth place. The competition is very tough and no team now can afford any loss. SRH chances are high because they played only 12 matches while Chennai played 13 and DC played 14 matches.

Match 65:: Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings

Toss Win: Punjab Kings
Team Win: Rajasthan Royals
Best Batsmen: Jaiswal
Best bowler: Sandeep Sharma

25  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [List] Instant exchanges on: May 15, 2024, 12:38:20 AM
I want to to everyone that I have tried to swap 32.8$ Usdt for Eth through Side shift Swap but I have not received payment for 4 hours. I contacted through customer support but they are not replying which is not good. I will update here if I received any reply. Kindly use other swap platform till team resolve issue. Due to privacy matter I don't want to share transaction hash here. I habe checked Address provided by Side shift and Usdt has been sent successfully.
@Gladitorcomeback, did you get back your money?

Please let us know what transpired. I have been planning to do some swaps with them, but I don't want to be another victim. In the past, the swaps went on smoothly, but you can never know, things change.

Oh sorry I almost forgot it. Yes I recieved payment but I don't like their chat service. I used this instant exchange for more than 10 times and that was first time I faced issue. I reported through chat message but customer replied me after 6 hours. Generally reply before 24 hours is not considered bad but if you want to exchange tokens instantly then I think customer service should also reply instantly.

In short After giving all necessary information I got payment in no time. You can use this service.

Tips: Ton USDT withdraw is totally free of cost if your fund is available in centralized exchange.

28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where best to enjoy this forum... on: May 14, 2024, 12:40:12 AM
it's also important for us to know that using the forum on a computer does offer the kind of convinience using the forum on mobile offers, I mean, with my android or iPhone, I literally have the forum in my pocket and every where I go, it's impossible to move around with your desktop computer, or operate your laptop computer while walking along the subway, but with our mobile phone, we can easily access the forum from anywhere we are as long as we have internet connection.

Yes, but it isn't very convenient to use the forum on a mobile phone because of the layout not being mobile-friendly. You will need to zoom in and zoom out only to read the posts or to write a response, you will have a hard time making text edits on your phone if there is a large quote and you need to edit out a sentence or a paragraph from it which you are writing a response to. So it's not very easy to use the forum on a mobile phone, OP is right about this.

Some people might not feel the same way as I do because I have seen a lot of people using the forum on a mobile phone, reading and making posts conveniently, but since I have always been using the forum on a computer, either desktop or laptop, I don't find it easy to use the forum on a mobile device.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding cryptocurrency on: May 14, 2024, 12:32:41 AM
In everything there is always a beginner, in political way there are beginner even in the crypto world 🌍 we still have a beginner, so as a beginners in crypto you should know how it works first before you get into it, there was a guy complaining that he lost in trading crypto, and he is telling some of he's friend not to go into crypto just because he lost and he didn't follow the signal, I just want to say that you need to understand how it works first before you start, thank you.

Though what you said is right, this topic has been discussed a thousand times or more in the forum. Those who understand everything from the beginning and have general knowledge would know what is right and what is wrong for them, and for those who don't, such advice or suggestions won't stop them from doing the wrong things that would make them suffer from losses.

Newbies, at least most of them, often get into this industry with the wrong mindset, they believe it's a space where earning money is extremely easy and one can earn a lot of money in no time from this industry, some even think that they can earn money without making any investments with cryptocurrencies because they have heard such things from here and there. These are the mindsets that make them make the wrong decisions.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: May 14, 2024, 12:13:57 AM
This actually contradict the the idiom: "Don't put all your eggs in one basket".
For me when it comes to investment always have a back up plan, or at least spread out your investment so that if one goes down the others could lift it up, your loss could be lessen.

I agree with that. A lot of investors underestimate the diversification method and invest all their funds in a single asset hoping that they would get good profits from it. There is no doubt that Bitcoin is the best investment asset out there, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't diversify their portfolio and invest all one has only into it because diversification can always bring you more opportunities, you never know, another cryptocurrency you invest in might have a higher growth percentage than Bitcoin and that can bring you better profits.

That being said, I've also seen a lot of newbies over-diversifying their portfolios which is also a bad practice in my opinion. Diversification is good but only if it's done within limits, anything done excessively can have negative consequences, so one should make sure that they are investing only in a few good cryptocurrencies and aren't buying a bunch of useless shit coins.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be a way to register your wallet with the government? on: May 13, 2024, 06:41:23 PM
Should the government declare that they want its users to register their bitcoin public addresses just to monitor them is to me not only a privacy issue but also a security concern because every transaction tie to you can make you be a culprit to the government, they can arrest you and decide to request for the private to that address because they assume holds illicit funds.

Exactly, this will make Bitcoin have features that traditional financial systems have where all our financial activities are watched and monitored and we are asked for verifications, paperwork, and whatnot for certain transactions we make with our accounts. It is not just about giving them access to our funds that will make it troublesome, it's the fact that they can be able to keep an eye on what we do with our Bitcoins in real time which is against the decentralized nature of Bitcoin.

So in my opinion, this wouldn't solve the existing problems but it will create more problems, especially for those using Bitcoin because you wouldn't be able to use your wallet or funds as freely as you do it right now because you will know your wallet is being watched and all your activities are monitored.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No risk no gain on: May 13, 2024, 06:29:28 PM
It is true that knowledge is the key that leads us to success, but having knowledge does not mean that we will definitely succeed. Having complete knowledge only increases our odds of success, without any guarantees. I agree with you, there need to be many factors combined to bring us success, and knowledge alone is not enough and sometimes luck will play a more important role.

You are right, but knowledge makes us take calculated risks. A person without knowledge will take risks that they can't manage and eventually face failure due to this, but someone who has knowledge and understands everything will think very well before making a decision, and when it comes to investments in the cryptocurrency market, it is very important for an investor or a trader to be aware of what they are getting into to stay on the safe side or at least have lower risks.

A lot of newbies take unreasonable risks as soon as they enter the market and the reason behind that is a lack of knowledge and understanding of the market. They don't do much research before making their investments in the initial stage and end up buying meme coins and shit coins with all their capital.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivated you to join the forum? on: May 13, 2024, 12:33:16 PM
This post reminds me alot about how I joined the Bitcoin family. Many years ago even before I started school at the university, I had a friend who constanted persuaded me to invest in Bitcoin. I didn't pick interest in it because there were lots of ponzi schemes as at that time, you won't really blame me because the testimonies I heard about Bitcoin were too good to be true, so I thought Bitcoin was one of those scams.

I still remember the time when there used to be Bitcoin doublers where you would send your Bitcoins and get 2x of what you have sent.  Grin A lot of people used to get scammed by these HYIPs and some even used to earn a lot of money because such websites used to pay their initial users and then when they used to gain trust in the community and people started sending higher amounts, they would run away with their funds.

You are right that a person who didn't know much about Bitcoin wouldn't believe that it is a good thing if someone told them because they would think Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme because all those scams, HYIPs, and Ponzi schemes used to use Bitcoin as their main payment method. There used to be cloud mining scams as well back then.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: May 13, 2024, 10:13:11 AM
Those boards aren't limited only to beginners if the newbies aren't confident enough with the other boards, actually they can start with their local because it is the way they can express more, next is what are your objectives in the community different boards have a different knowledge can acquire, if you want to get merits only seems easier to get noticed is to go in the meta board, and development board which is technicalities in terms of crypto and the forum itself, keep learning in the forum, share your experiences, contribute to the community. Don't need to rush too much or else you will burn out and become like other members who leave the forum because of they didnt get merits.

The boards, Meta and Development, are both only for experienced users who have a lot of knowledge about this forum and Bitcoin and its blockchain, newbies would only get lost if they visited these boards just because they want to get some merits because to get merits from these boards, one needs to make substantial contributions in threads and topics and a complete newbie would barely be able to do that.

I would suggest newbies to stay within boards where they can participate in discussions that they have some knowledge about, and if a newbie has zero knowledge about things in this industry, it is best for them to not post in the initial stage and focus more or reading and learning until they learn something.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your top mistakes in crypto - learning from others experiences! on: May 13, 2024, 12:39:50 AM
For me, the main mistake was buying some shitcoins hoping that they would outperform bitcoin. And to be honest some of them actually did, but it's always difficult to decide when to sell, and that also means that you need to stay behind several coins/tokens while for example if you just focus on bitcoin and maybe 3-4 altcoins maximum is way easier to keep track of everything.

Over-diversification can always be a problem. Some people would have about two dozen different cryptocurrencies in their portfolio having invested small amounts in each one of them which is completely unnecessary because you won't get a lot of profit because if some of them manage to gain good value, others might not perform so well and some might even make you lose value. So it's always better to just have a few extra cryptocurrencies apart from Bitcoin.

Newbies often make this mistake, they would invest $10 or so in a bunch of altcoins that aren't even that good only because they have seen them gaining some value when they were watching the market, they don't know their past or what project they are associated with but just made dust investments in all of them.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: R7 Promotions IPL CONTEST2024 🏏 & DISCUSSION on: May 12, 2024, 06:46:06 PM
8 matches remaining and then next round of IPL will be started. RCB players done a great job today. RCB still have a chance to qualify but other teams will not miss any opportunity. Interesting to see that Man of the match reward goes to Cameron Green while he picked only 1 wicket and Yash Dayal picked 3 wickets.

I also start updating spreadsheet and very soon all points will be finalized.

Today match results:

Toss win: Delhi Capitals
Team win:  Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Best Batsmen:  Rajat Patidar
Best bowler: Yash Dayal
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 12, 2024, 06:35:53 PM
I think this thing is part of the information technology course in colleges but if we are talking about elementary or high school well yeah best this should be included in economics but the problem is that majority of teachers and professors don't even have an idea what Bitcoin is but if it was part of the curriculum then there is a higher chance that students will get their millions too early compared to them not engaged into that kind of topic as we all know only few are curious and willing to learn things like that.

Even though teachers can learn about it if they have to teach it to the children, I would say adding Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies as a core subject in school classes would have more negative changes than positive ones because a child's brain isn't programmed to understand such complex theories and ideas, they aren't made to understand business and finance or how money is managed and how all other things related to it are handled, and Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are all about finance.

Having blockchain technology as a different subject in colleges or universities can be a better thing because when students reach that level, they tend to have matured enough to understand and grasp more complex ideas and theories than the time when they are still in school.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2024, 06:18:33 PM
I know that for the most part here in the United States that the majority of people here do know about bitcoin. Working in finance it’s a topic that comes up a good bit, so I know that the majority of Americans are aware of bitcoin, what it is and know the basics of how it works. Just like with anything of course not everyone knows about what it is.

America is one of the most developed countries in the world, so there is no surprise that the majority of people from there know about Bitcoin, but smaller countries that fall under the category or either developing or third-world, a vast majority of people from such countries aren't yet aware of Bitcoin's existence and they don't know what a cryptocurrency is, either due to illiteracy or because of a lack of awareness within these countries because the government is not ready to accept cryptocurrencies and let them prevail.

It's based on my personal experience because I have asked a lot of people if they know what Bitcoin is and they said no, they have never heard of it. So I'm pretty sure that the same is the situation in other smaller countries as well because there isn't enough awareness among people about these things.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was holding on to Ledger and I got robbed on: May 12, 2024, 12:15:58 PM
Between 2019 and 2023 I had health problems, so I abandoned crypto and my computer.

My ETH, LTC and Dogecoin were stolen.

That's a big gap, you shouldn't have abandoned your crypto, at least. Since you said they were stored in a hardware wallet, I don't see what your computer had to do with that. Were you keeping your keys and phrases on your computer? And was your computer accessible to anyone else apart from you?

I don't know but if your computer was kept in a place where anyone could access it and it didn't have any unlock password, etc., then I believe someone might have accessed your computer, and stolen the keys, and then stolen your cryptocurrencies using the seed phrase and the password if you had them stored in your computer.

Seed phrases and private keys are supposed to kept in places where no one can have any access to them.
