21  Economy / Speculation / Re: what are your thoughts on recent price drop? on: October 31, 2014, 05:53:26 PM
is this week's 40$ drop in price gonna continue? or reverse?

It might stop as well. The miners might be not selling so easily at a loss. So depends how much more profit miners still have to predict when the price should stop falling.
22  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: TradeFocus.net - Up to 3.5% Daily profit in cryptocurrencies mining on: October 16, 2014, 12:37:57 PM
Definitively HYIP. Just friendly warning - do not deposit there, ever!
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin Selloff Continues on: October 05, 2014, 08:54:06 AM
miners and investors/whales are not even touching exchanges, they are trading privately.

Yes, but the private price cannot be much different from current exchange prices.

Max activity increase is 14 if you post 14 posts or MORE in two weeks. If you post only 5 times in two weeks, your activity only increase by 5, if 50 times in two weeks, your activity only increase by 14 Smiley
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC endgame = Mega Miner controlling everything, BTC is not "trustless" on: June 25, 2014, 02:20:37 PM
In past, we have seen deepbit to vanish after they touched 51%. Nothing is permanent in the Bitcoin world except competition. Smiley

This. Hopefully GHash.IO miners consider choosing alternatives to help Bitcoin. About core GHash.IO hardware, it will not stop as long as it is profitable, obviously with same Bitcoin price and continuous difficulty increase there is a point where power bill is higher than mining Bitcoins, and big mining operations cannot afford pay the huge power bills while home Bitcoin supporteers can afford continue to mine in expectation of future Bitcoin price + Bitcoin support
28  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what is the estimated power consumption of the entire network? on: April 29, 2014, 11:12:49 AM
I expect most of the old ASIC still hashing with effeciency 5-10Wh for gh/s
So most optimistic would be 100,000 KW/h.

I don't think John K is coming back here on this forum because its almost more then 3 months and have no response even Coins are still in wallet may be he expires  Sad
I read somewhere he had setup a dead man switch with his lawyer. He's not dead yet. If he was dead, we'll all get paid.

From my experience it can take longer than 3 months. So this is still possible. John K told he has dead-man's switch in place:

I do have a dead-man's switch in place as all the addresses I use are cold wallets printed and stored physically in my safe. I regularly back my escrow list of transactions up to two off-site locations, and in the case of me and my family's incapacitation my family lawyer is authorized to release the funds accordingly with the list.

Maybe Scrat could add signed post with winning BTC addresses and amounts to original raffle thread
*FREE* 100 BTC Raffle by Coinroll.it
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223474.0

so the lawyer can see winners in this case...

Also, did Scrat actually PMed John K with signed winning BTC addresses and amounts ? He told he will once he get all the BTC addresses, but never confirmed he is sending it
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why 21 Million? Won't that defeat the purpose & STOP Universal Acceptance on: April 15, 2014, 05:10:50 PM
Actually, Bitcoin had to be called much less than 100,000,000 satoshi. Like 1 Bitcoin = 10,000 satoshi and now mined block = 250,000 Bitcoins

Not really difference, but average person like 1.5045 number much more than 0.00015045
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins have features that make them in any way superior to Bitcoin ? on: March 18, 2014, 10:05:00 PM
CPU only mining doesn't make sense... Allowing GPUs and ASICs convinces more people to invest capital into the coin and allows faster growth.
Why?

Allowing general purpose CPUs to mine effectively enables more people to mine, which distributes mining power more widely and makes 51% attacks less likely.

I dont like CPU only mining because it is paradise for botnet operators. Most fair coins are the ones requiring ASICs to be competetive in mining
32  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question about gambling license: on: March 02, 2014, 12:35:39 PM
It is always shaddy and better have lawyer ready, or be untrackable.

I personally think it is not worth the risk
33  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question about gambling license: on: March 02, 2014, 12:22:35 PM
Im asking it because i know that gammbling license cost more than 15000$

Depends where your server is located, but I guess in some locations law does not apply to no fiat betting
34  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinroll.it - Dice rolling game | Instant bets | Off-the-chain | 1% House edge on: February 07, 2014, 12:29:56 PM
There have been the following address changes:
imamanandyou: 1BQxQ5a3STdDuAh1v1ro591cfdavLaRc5X

imamanandyou, Amph and clearcrystal should confirm that these are indeed their intended addresses.

I can confirm 1BQxQ5a3STdDuAh1v1ro591cfdavLaRc5X
is the address where I preffer sending the Bitcoins to
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im new , is it a good time to buy ? on: January 31, 2014, 10:26:44 PM
I have a good amount of money and im interested ton invest 10 000$ on some bitcoins , we are the 30 januray and the value of the bitcoin is around 800- 900$. My question. : it is possible that i will make a suicidal money move or itīs still a good risk to take ?

Wait what happens with China in next weeks, there is possibility for cheaper Bitcoins, dont know what you mean suicidal, I dont expect Bitcoin moves under 100 USD anytime soon
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Somewhere in future.. on: January 29, 2014, 03:24:23 PM
if everyone over network accepts they want 2-3 millions coins more then would it be possible to generate/mine more coins?

If everyone agrees, anything can be changed in Bitcoin protocol without fork. But I doubt adding 2-3 millions coins is a thing everyone agrees with Smiley

38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For newbies - Is cex.io a good investment? on: January 17, 2014, 11:59:29 AM
The Cex price for GHash/s has to go down with time as difficulty increases. I would wait for difficulty stop increasing first before considering buying Cex

You need top ATI GPU cards to be profitable mining Scrypt coins and exchange to Bitcoin or USD, your onboard ATI or nVidia will be not profitable. The lowest I would use is 5830
