25  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~100Th] Semi-private mining pool on: November 03, 2013, 12:24:56 AM
Isn't the open invite to anyone, mitigating all the advantages of this pool? I have been very happy with this pool so far, no complaints whatsoever. But if you open it to just anyone, what's then still the point of the security by obfuscation?

I'm not elitarian, but at least making it a bit more difficult, for the hackers, might let them choose bigger and easier targets.

Btw, what's the rate on PPLNS?
26  Local / Markt / Re: Te koop: Avalon Batch #3 @100GH/s (4 modules) on: October 26, 2013, 10:55:05 AM

27  Local / Markt / Te koop: Avalon Batch #3 @100GH/s (4 modules) on: October 21, 2013, 04:20:39 PM

28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wire transfer times for Europeans on: October 14, 2013, 10:44:36 PM
I demanded my funds back after +2 months. Heard from others that were already waiting 5 months. That explains why everybody wants to buy BTC with their fiat on Mt. Gox. Since withdrawing BTC is not an issue.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 11:04:14 PM
Got my jupiter, opened it up and 2/4 fans fall off so attached them.   Attached all cables and powered up.

It appears to be running but pool doesnt show any info and I can't find it on my network anywhere.   I tried using NMAP which found all my 'other' connected devices but not the miner.

Tried a hard reset then rebooted and now I'm in the same place.  No idea how to check if anything is working properly.

ideas?

Well they follow the theme of figure it out yourself, like all ASIC companies. Mine arrived today without a manual, so after searching I found the manual hidden away in a news post.

https://www.kncminer.com/userfiles/file/manual.pdf

There it says it just acts as dhcp client and takes whatever IP it can get. If you have a router, you should check the DHCP server logs. That's how I found it. From there on it's really easy. Very happy with the miner, it's quiet, cool, faster than advertised and cheap in comparison with the rest.

Hope you can get yours to work

No problem, best pool anyway, and thank you for your swift action.
31  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~49,000Gh] Semi-private mining pool on: September 07, 2013, 09:58:27 PM
Hey I mailed you in private to reset my password, but either I am totally blind or is this a basic missing feature on your site. I'm set stiill getting payed, so all is well, but I'd feel more conformable logging in as well Smiley
32  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Meetup in Antwerp - Belgium - saturday 31st of august 2013 - 20:00 on: September 01, 2013, 12:38:55 PM
I am sorry to have missed it again, I'm sick with throat infection and some other nasty bugs. I wouldn't have lasted long anyway, and no point in infecting Belgian Bitcoin enthousiasts.

There will be a next time, and hope it was fun.
33  Economy / Auctions / Re: Quick Fire Sale 6 Individual Avalon Modules For Sale 12BTC Hosted Or Shipped on: September 01, 2013, 04:39:41 AM
Okay I got scammed too I guess, should've been more careful, but needed 2 modules urgently since a non-ming Avalon at this stage is as big a loss as a scam. I Ordered before all ruckus here.

Dell123 if you read this, I hope you prove them all wrong, but I seriously doubt it. No PMs, if I could get his address I'd happily pay a debt collector 50/50.
34  Economy / Auctions / Re: Quick Fire Sale 6 Individual Avalon Modules For Sale 12BTC Hosted Or Shipped on: August 27, 2013, 08:01:13 PM
Of course since I'm from Belgium, shipping cost should be less though. Or I could come pick them up for a better price.
35  Economy / Auctions / Re: Quick Fire Sale 6 Individual Avalon Modules For Sale 12BTC Hosted Or Shipped on: August 27, 2013, 07:59:26 PM
i.e. 22.5 BTC for 2 modules with full escrow.
36  Economy / Auctions / Re: Quick Fire Sale 6 Individual Avalon Modules For Sale 12BTC Hosted Or Shipped on: August 27, 2013, 07:57:54 PM
Same deal for me for the remaining 2. If you agree.

38  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Casascius Series 1 with Error on: August 07, 2013, 01:57:39 PM
Okay I'll start with 3.5 BTC then.

I also had my worries and contacted Mr. Prendergast. I support breaking out of the meta-bitcoin securities, and getting (also) into the real world. So I find this a very appealing investment for many reasons, if only it helps BTC becoming more mainstream.

Here are some answers from Mr. Prendergast that he gave permission for to publish:

Thanks for your support and I hope we can justify your confidence in our company and our IPO.
I wish to assure you that we are addressing all issues you bring up and we are very confident that
Kenilworth Exploration Ltd will succeed in closing its first round and returning our EM readings and improved valuation to shareholders. We believe that by putting our company stock completely into bitcoin that we are safeguarded our mineral resource value from currency and share fluctuations that will  inevitable occur as conventional fiat  currencies are reconfigured in the not too distant future as a result of QE pressure. I answer you questions below but would like further comment or questions and Thanks again for your support.

More so since ASIC in Australia in the mining business is not something I know a lot about. I have faith in your team and am willing to take a risk, but it would help if you would address that issue.

Answer:
Firstly : we have paid the ASIC fee and hope to have this rectified within a day on the official ASIC website / this issues is solely due to a error in payment transfer by OKpay a number that we have had in the past month

Next, what happens when the IPO fails reach its goal in the nr of sold shares? Is there is a guarantee of a buyback at failure in raising the capital, I could not find anything mentioned about that in the documentation, but I might have missed it. Or is investor loss just implied?

Answer:

Now we are working to make it succeed and we have taken out Advertisments in bitcoin magazine and want more suggestions on getting out to more people since two thirds of the visits to our site are from China we are putting up our offer document in Chinese and have employed a Chinese person we work with in another area to monitor and answer questions on the Chinese forum this should start next week.
If after three months we have not hit our target for round one,  I (Patrick T Prendergast ) will subscribe to close round one from funds I am currently in the process of making from the sale of a drug for hepatitis C which I invented and which has completed a 28patient study in Beijing this drug was valued at $75mil prior to patient  studies and from the results we expect to license for enough to our company Canopus BioPharma Inc to allow them pay outstanding royalty payments to me to allow me to contribute to complete round 1 and get the EM survey completed which we have great confidence will enhance our independent valuation which should be reflected in our stock price on BTCT and bitfunder .

I look forward to your comments and questions.

Regards

Patrick.

Patrick T Prendergast PhD.

Hope it helps, and make your own conclusions.
