21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fundraising scam ,the way I see new projects on: May 04, 2019, 08:22:46 PM
Not everything is as bad as you described here. A lot of ICO projects are developing thanks to the funds raised and are very useful for people. One cannot blame these projects for the fact that Bitcoin fell in price all last year, after which it was in a state of stagnation and kept other types of cryptocurrencies, preventing them from further price growth.
Of course, due to the fact that everyone can join and start their own ICO, and they collect huge sums of money, the scammers took advantage of this. However, it is enough that the states begin to regulate this type of activity, checking the team, and fraud in ICO projects will disappear. I think that soon we will see, finally, such regulation.

Indeed, we cannot stereotype every project doing an ICO as scam, rather we should try to understand important details and factors for every project and make an assessment if its a scam or not and act on it accordingly.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are investors realizing that IEO is a silent scam? on: May 04, 2019, 05:29:38 PM
IEO's even promoted by a well known exchange don't guarantee  the success of a particular project and even reputable exchanges could wash their hands if the project's IEO could turn out to be a scam. I've never seen an IEO that guarantees the integrity of a project and we should all be aware of this situation. Smiley
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this really better than Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2019, 10:50:46 PM
How can you say that those projects are better than Bitcoin when Bitcoin's market dominance is at 55 percent right now according to Coinmarketcap and  its price is getting higher again. I say it will take years for any project to achieve what Bitcoin has done and it ain't easy especially if the thread starter of that project has achieved one of the worst negative trust rating I've seen in bitcointalk.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are investors realizing that IEO is a silent scam? on: May 03, 2019, 03:28:44 PM
It has been going three days Bittrex has launched IEO for "ocean" coin. But seems still now 17% remain of IEO token. Last IEO was closed within few seconds. Wondering why still not sold out current IEO on Bittrex. Are investors realizing that IEO is silent scam? Because on last IEO on Bittrex lots of investor's got REKT. Perhaps that's why investors worried about their funds.

What do you think? There is any other reason?

I just got a headache when I read your statement mate. Smiley
Well, IEO right now according to others is the replacement for the ICO aside from that this is very trend now here
in the forum. Where according to my insight of view about this IEO, is that so far it is good and better compare to ICO,
no doubt about that. Because having an exchange is an advantage while the campaign project is running.

Yeah, I totally cannot say that IEO's are scam since its just another scheme to raise funds but offers great advantage over a normal ICO. And also exchanges doing IEO's are just facilitators for fund raising to a particular project and they have no direct influence on whether a project will become a scam or not. So I reckon we should first examine the merits of the project and research on it thoroughly before putting some money into it.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: May 03, 2019, 10:20:24 AM
I was awed by the developmental indices that has been recorded by the veil project even though it's self funded  within a short period of time .....which made me to dig deeper. Guess what I found!
Veil Project is a privacy coin led by James Burden, the founder of PIVX and co-founder of zDEX and Exobit and developed by Veil Labs, a team of developers with past experience and contributions ranging from Ravencoin and HyperStake. Many PIVX veterans including its marketers, content strategists, and business operators are also involved in VEIL.
To say that they would leverage off their experiences to ensure the continuous development of the project would be an understatement.

If that is true then we didn't made a mistake on supporting this project and my observance is that the team are very professional and capable of successfully developing this one. Also, I like Veil's support site which is filled with useful information and  technical knowledge-base on how the project works which are very informative to the community.

Little problem?
They behave(team) so as not to pay. If you are an investor, think three times what your prospects are in this project.

Is that so? Well I guess it will have a negative impact to the project in general and could diminish investor's confidence but I'm still hoping they would resolve it at the soonest possible time because it will surely tarnish the project's reputation and they should do their best to fix it asap.

This is a bad image for the Orbis Project why are they doing this kind of cheating? I hope that there will be a breakdown from Orbis to be able to carry out their projects even though this project has been going on for a long time.

Yes, its been several weeks now and that issue has not yet been resolved which could cast doubt on the team's ability to solve any issues within the community. If they only value their commitment to the community then I guess they have already acted upon it earlier.

Our listing date is slightly postponed until our TestNet is released to the public. When providing liquidity, we'll likely have an influx of new users. We feel its best to have our code published for them to look at and validate for themselves right away.

Aside from tapping the community for code review, do you have plans to engage the services of a third party audit company to further verify code integrity?

Yes, of course!
Wow, that is a short and clear answer. Hopefully what you say can really be done, not just bullshit, so the most important thing is to make it clearer, better, keep on following the development

Glad to hear that! It will surely boost the community's confidence on this project and would have positive effects on it. I believe the project's development is getting more solid due to active devs and team and I hope you guys would continue to pursue your goals for DUSK Network. Goodluck!

still not found an manager yet ?
You can find the answer to your question here: https://t.me/orbis_scam

I do not think you can contact this project. Among them are inadequate, which even threaten people. Right now, the project representative is dirty in the chat.

What has happened to this project? There is little news on its development but there are a lot of noises from its community especially its bounty participants and I really hope it will be resolved asap since it could have a negative effect on the project itself and the team should know that.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Saturn Black Platform | Token Sale | Public stage on: April 26, 2019, 10:27:15 AM
Any new developments about the project? I would love to see Saturn Black achieved its developmental milestones especially now that its already listed on an exchange. I also hope that the team could give us relevant info about the platform asap. Smiley

Technical Updates #1 - April 20, 2019

In this new series, we’ll provide updates on the latest and upcoming Veil developments.

Learn about how our devs are improving wallet UI/UX for a smoother user experience here.

Updates likes this only shows that Veil team are serious and very capable on developing this project and I thought the community would be glad to hear this out. And with this pace, I can see VEIL to be one of the best privacy coins soon. Smiley

We have done the final token calculations, you can read the details of token distribution on our medium.

If you have further questions on the topic or anything related to the project feel free to ask them on our telegram: https://t.me/jarvisexchange

Article: https://medium.com/@jarvisedge/token-distribution-f6b278b67852

Been looking for this insight for a while and someone managed to lost track of everything on telegram. Thanks for posting it on BTT where saner typing rates prevail. Can now  plot next move based on the new tokenomics
I would like to know when the project team plans to introduce the first listing? The team distributed tokens, this is a good sign, but when I look at the market, I understand that hight token price should not be expected.

They will definitely list right after they finish the product launch which is in line with their strategy to protect token's value and the interest of the community. But maybe they could provide us a tentative schedule on when will be the final launch of the product or perhaps a regular update would do. Smiley
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is advertising for ICOs unethical? on: April 24, 2019, 11:52:36 PM
For bounties ICOs spend only 1-2 % of their total supply and for future marketing activities around 5-10%. Marketing activities has their limits and it would not be justifiable to spend 50 % of the funds for marketing.

That is more ideal proportion and not the one that is posted in OP which way too absurd. No team in their right mind would spend big budgets like 90 percent for marketing alone which is taken from ICO proceeds.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is advertising for ICOs unethical? on: April 24, 2019, 08:17:18 AM
I hope you could provide us with proofs to support your claim and could provide us with much clearer insight on that matter. As what I've mentioned earlier, BUDGET is already allocated even before the start of the ICO because most projects set aside a certain portion of their total token allocation for marketing purposes but that BUDGET don't come from the proceeds of the ICO, rather, it was a token allocation and not ETH or BTC of fiat proceeds, I hope you know what I mean. Smiley
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is advertising for ICOs unethical? on: April 24, 2019, 02:36:28 AM
I've noticed many ICOs have to spend a lot of money on promotions and advertising.

For example, let's say an ICO raises 10 million dollars but has to spend 9 million on promotion.

Therefore, they only really raised 1 million for the project.

Isn't this unethical?

If you're starting a company and looking for investors the traditional way via stock equity, you would never spend 9 million or even 5 million or even 2 million in order to raise 10 million from investors.

This begs the question, what ratio of promotion cost versus funds raised for ICOs is ethical?

And how do we know if an ICO is using an ethical ratio?

Legit ICOs are businessmen not kids. Why would they spend 9M for advertising if they only had 10M in their hands. Advertising expense are only costs 20-30% of the fund. They should only do that if and only if they had 95-100% of return of investment. Common sense is the key.

Some ICO's have such similar figures with regards to promotion, but I think they would not spend a sizable amount on such activities when they have only gathered almost the same as that amount, rather, I think it was already allocated through tokens value, and not the actual fund generated thru the ICO which is somewhat absurd in financial sense. If I'm not mistaken, most of that data can be found on project's tokenomics.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is advertising for ICOs unethical? on: April 23, 2019, 10:55:56 AM
I think advertising an ICO is not unethical, rather, what is unethical is that some ICO's have deceiving promotional gimmicks like having a huge amount of bounty pool designed to attract bounty hunters but in the end turned out rip them off by not fulfilling conditions on their own bounty campaigns. This I think is very unacceptable and will have a negative impact on the project itself.
38  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Hits 400 Million Transactions on: April 22, 2019, 11:56:12 PM
That is an amazing fact that proves Bitcoin is on its way to enjoy greater mass adoption and therefore could generate more number of transactions as its users grow. I think its a milestone that could serve as a gauge to where cryptocurrency adoption is heading. And I guess  everybody in the crypto community should rejoice about this.  Smiley
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO ENDED] Jarvis - Fx, crypto, stocks | DApp browser | Revenue token on: April 22, 2019, 09:03:53 AM
Jarvis has not prepared the products or services they will offer to investors, according to information on the telegram. I like projects that have teams like Jarvis; hard worker and communicative.
What is the reason the team has not yet prepared a product or service that they will offer to investors but even so we have to respect the decisions of the team and I am sure the team will do the best

Actually they in the process of product development right now and we should understand that it will take time to develop and do some testing before it will be released. But rest assured, I'm confident that they will release a superior platform in due time so we might want to stay tuned and wait for further updates from the team.

I would like to assume that the project's focus is to built it on a solid ground and that means they had planned to release the product first before going to list it on exchanges which is quite ironic to me since most of the projects are in a hurry to list them once their fund raising has ended but often times appeared to be an exit scam. I think the JARVIS community should very well admire the team on their decision to implement this strategy, because in the end, I am hoping we'd be all thankful for them.
