21  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What would you like to buy? on: September 21, 2016, 01:39:58 AM
A fairly obvious one you have missing from your list.

Food:

Groceries, specialty foods (deli, spice shops, bakeries etc), fast food and food court.

Tipping wait staff in clubs and restaurants (photo of employee at the payments desk along with a QR Code for each employee to tip.)

Metro Travel Cards (ie weekly top-ups)
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop fuckin' around, fork the son-of-a-bitch already. on: September 21, 2016, 01:31:07 AM
You don't get out much do you?

That would be like suggesting you could only go into a shop and pay with Visa instead of MasterCard or Visa-versa and then saying to the customer "Well, even though you have the right card, your money isn't the right type of money.

Which fork would get to retain the right to call itself BitCoin?
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: September 05, 2016, 02:41:41 AM
Just to let you guys know a big crash is coming in 2016 in the economy. There is going to be a huge financial crisis but it will be worse than 2009.

The bitcoin price will skyrocket to over $10,000. However  bitcoin will be banned in all western countries. If you are reading this living in the west you should make preparations to move to Russia or China they are the only places you will be safe owning bitcoins.

The crisis will be so big it will destroy entire countries and in 2017 there will be a civil war in the USA, UK and western europe. After this the world will never be the same again it will change so much by 2020 it will be unrecognizable compared to today.

I love these end of the world predictions...

None of them ever make it onto the dart board, much less hit the bulls eye.

The price is back at $ 600 USD and people are again heading for the hills with rapture just around the corner.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: September 05, 2016, 02:27:14 AM
to me USD is a fiat currency while Bitcoin is a digital currency therefore we should not compare these two thing, however i think USD is too much stable than bitcoin, but still we can hope that become a global currency and most of the people will start investing in bitcoin .

Banks have had digital versions of fiat money for many decades now, it is called your bank account and is used to instruct an ATM or teller in another location that it is OK for them to hand over cash to you when you request it.

BitCoin on the other hand frees a person from the hassle of dealing directly with a bank so enabling each of us to conduct transactions without banks overseeing our transactions.

Without a doubt BitCoin will overtake other forms of online payment methods due to its irreversible nature which is why we should all treat BTC like it were cash in our pockets.
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Didn't know I can loss all without winning anything on: August 25, 2016, 11:32:13 PM
Read up on statistics.  There's a 100% chance you will get 100 as there is you will get one or any whole number in between.  And the next time it will make no difference to the time before.  You have no way of knowing if the slots you played were modified during play, did you read the sites "provably fair" statement?

Don't bother going back there to try to win it back, if that site is fiddling with their games pay-outs, then they have you marked as a soft touch and you'll loose even more.

10 Best Bitcoin Wallets For Secure Bitcoin Storage

http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/bitcoin-wallets/

Thanks for the link - I've only heard of about half and of those I hadn't actually seen a couple, just by reputation alone.

The last one looks very flaky (the Pi-Wallet) eventually you'll have to connect to the internet so it's no different from the second Multibit which can run off of a USB.

Unless I'm missing something?
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.6M ln Bitcoin Auctioned Off in US: Will Bitcoin Price Increase? on: August 16, 2016, 12:29:47 AM
I cant see a bigmovement coming from such a small amount. People dump 2k coins into the market all the time with small movement. You just need to remember the overall trend is up so that is where this is going.

I hadn't realised people would trade such amounts on a day to day basis, they must be early miners playing the markets to keep the price stable perhaps?  They wouldn't trade all of those in one session though, would they?

Since bidders are buying at a $586 per BTC and the highest price in the last few months has been $750, it will be a bargain. If they hold and sell at a higher price, this auction will be profitable for the winner. Also, if they don’t sell, they keep a piece of history.

The buyer will hardly sell below $ 586 in the short term, so that will only be a bench mark for them to watch.

I have no doubt perhaps 10% will be palmed off quickly (at cost) to minimise the cost outlayed.  Having said that, if a consortium pooled their funds, it could be broken up post sale and the BitCoins could go out into the world for all to use.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETC go?? on: August 12, 2016, 12:44:25 AM
From the little I know about Ether, they've been badly bruised with their rollback fork, so any good will they once had has been eroded.

That's not to say they won't regain trust over time, but it left a lot of long term investors smarting with the way things were handled.

I don't see the price of ETH regaining to pre fork levels any time soon.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: 400 will not hold on: July 24, 2016, 06:32:51 PM
I do not think the bitcon price will fall below $400 any more. The mass adoption will support the price.

Agreed that mass adoption in BitCoins is the way to go forward - people need to understand it can be used for secure transactions - explain its features of confirmation and diversified block chain.

The average fiat user wouldn't have a clue how financial transactions occur, so there needs to be an education initiative.

Only then will it hold above $ 400.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I would like to know if there are bots that buy and sell altcoins for free on: July 13, 2016, 01:57:40 AM
I discovered that there were bots that buy altcoins at a low price and sell them at a high price.
So, I want to know if there are bots that do the same work, but for free.
There are various auto-traders for various exchanges, but they're not free. Also, as an obvious risk, your bot may mess up and you loose money.

Someone will still have to front up with funds to start the whole process off.  A better question would be to ask if there are any users or groups who offer the service - and what would their fees be? - that would be a better way to go.
32  Economy / Services / Re: 0.2btc for hints sending sound through a wall on: July 13, 2016, 01:49:19 AM
What a task, i saw this thread before... Any useful hints so far?
Looks like the OP hasn't logged in in quite awhile. Took all our suggestions and didnt pay anyone anything.

Nothing's turned up in my Wallet either Sad

OP might have tried out a few of our suggestions and come unstuck perhaps?

Regardless, it looks like we're fresh out of ideas.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just 1000 blocks away from halving on: July 04, 2016, 01:44:37 AM
Nice logo - who did it?

Am hoping the price won't bounce around too much at halving - Maybe gain $ 100 over night?
34  Economy / Services / Re: 0.2btc for hints sending sound through a wall on: July 04, 2016, 01:07:37 AM
If there's ever a time when nobody's in your apartment and your neighbors are sleeping, you could get a WiFi smart switch, plug a radio with the bass turned up into it, and turn it on remotely. I would have said a jackhammer or some loud tool, but IDK if there's a smart switch with that much output power.

The trouble with leaving a device in your own home that is left playing loudly (and the neighbors are clued in that you are not home) is that they can then report you for having loud noise.

If it's something similar to their own noise (and we don't know if it's them talking/arguing/watching TV/Humping/practicing for Choir/Even Praying or Chanting/playing a rusty trombone/MTV...) it might annoy them enough because it's disrupting their own concentration.

Then again, are they elderly?  You could get them some headphones hooked up (via WiFi/FM transmitter) to their devices that are making the noise and they can listen at any volume they want and you won't hear a thing.
35  Economy / Services / Re: Get Free T-Shirt (Only for USA) on: July 04, 2016, 12:51:04 AM
Might have to give up on this one - doesn't sound like the OP is going to come through with the goods.
36  Economy / Services / Re: 0.2btc for hints sending sound through a wall on: June 27, 2016, 03:48:15 AM
Sounds very old school Spy Vs Spy stuff.  There's a device for sending sound through the ground that can be heard at a distance. (Only trouble is others could hear it).

Parabolic dishes can send sound further and can pick up whispers.

You might have to come clean on what you want it for?
37  Economy / Services / Re: Get Free T-Shirt (Only for USA) on: June 27, 2016, 03:40:50 AM
What's on the T-Shirts?  Words? Images? What size etc?
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm dumping my bitcoins so you should on: June 24, 2016, 02:34:50 AM
Even when the market is rising you can buy while it's going up, you just have to be prepared to wait a long time for it to come back down.  And that can be a very long time.
39  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Idea, Opinions Needed on: June 24, 2016, 02:27:19 AM
You want to pre-mine 90% of the coins?

You'll still need to have residual mining occur to cover the transaction fees etc.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 2000 $ possible ? on: June 24, 2016, 02:19:10 AM
can't see the bitcoin price go up to such a price level this year. i think it's better to put our focus and aim on reaching the $1000 price level this year. that alone will be a very difficult achievement.

We need to see if the $ 750 surge was the crest of a wave or if it can be maintained.

People need to start using BitCoin for purchases instead of playing the money markets.

it's a fact that people aren't really using bitcoin as currency as much as they do as investment option, but i don't see this change any time soon. can't really blame them for that. everyone likes to make some profits while trading.

Agreed, the only catch is when the bubble bursts (as it did after reaching $ 1,400 a year ago) The trouble is most here have no skill in playing the markets like those on stock exchanges do.
