This is the biggest blunder of all time. I always had that little bit of hope in the back of my mind that my investment would rekindle. Sorry for being so negative, but how else should any Cloak investor feel?

a lot of new people are coming, will come to cloak, who have no idea what the 1st few months were like and don't care.
i was there, lost my ass like most people, but i don't care because the the FUTURE of this coin is SO FREEKING BRIGHT

Hey Lab Rat, I kind of expected to get the newb comment and fare enough. But I was here from the beginning and only now decided to jump into the fire with all of you. Never have I intended to disrespect Cashmen. We owe him everything for his hard work. I do believe there is a bright future for Cloak I just wanted to say what I think some of us are thinking. I'm still holding strong like all of us regardless of the name change or not. And yes, I literally laughed out loud when Alty replied....didn't see that one coming. Gone are the days when we would wake up in the morning and be so excited to see his name on the thread.......what a joke |

I have been with Cloak since the beginning and saw all my investment go to practically nothing (around 35,000 USD). It was a very humbling experience but I stayed on because I believed in the product. Not soon after did we have the gut wrenching announcement by the Dagger that he was throwing in the towel.
2 years on, with all the information out there, we can pretty much sum up that Alty and Dagger either 1: got in way over their heads, or 2: It was all a money making scam. We can debate all we want but what happened....happened. On top of all of this we now know that there was a HUGE pump and dump scheme run by Bobsurplus. There was a great read about it written by someone who was in on the PnD scheme and I can't be bothered finding it but it is on Google.
Now came the White Knight, Cashmen. He took over the product and realized THERE WASN'T EVEN A PRODUCT TO BE HAD! In short, Cloak Coin was nothing. However, from the ground up him and his team worked extremely hard over the next year and a half creating a (new) Cloak that was worthy of the big boys.
After all this, since the biggest release ever for Cloak (POSA3), it had a small rise and a steady fall to what it is now. It is steady between 10-20 Satoshi. Unfortunately, I personally believe that this is what Cloak is 100% worth. Not the product, but the name.
The Cloak story is stuff of legend among the Crypto community. Even new comers in the community know about the story of Cloak. So the absolute main problem we have here is the name, CLOAK. There are many brands/products that failed only because of some bad publicity. And we have A LOT of bad publicity from the past.
What we have now is a Coin that is just as good as the top contenders such as Dash, Dark, ETH, to name a few. However, they are in the 100's of thousands, if not millions of satoshi and we are stuck at 10,000. It's hard to give up an emotional commitment to something but it is time to do that very thing.
It is time we give up on Cloak and re-brand it into something it deserves to be. The new Cloak team got nothing from the old team except the name....CLOAK. In saying that, It should not be called Cloak anymore because Cloak is exactly that, Nothing (the name I mean).
In conclusion, Cloak will never rise to anything more than what it is today if we keep the tarnished name it is. Please read this with an open mind and not with your heart and hopefully you will see some truth in what I say. It took me 2 years to finally put this into words but I believe this to be the truth.
Change the Name and let's watch this coin grow to the size it deserves to be.
I don't agree. Not yet atleast. There is about to be a book made with this name it would be kind of nuts to change the name right before then. Just let it ride for a little while. You were so patient for so long then the real deal actually comes and everyone is so impatient all of a sudden. I've been making small buys every week for quite a while now and am now one of the largest holders. The tech is there, the team is there, the pr is coming, only 3 real projects left, chill and get cheap coins. This is somewhat my point. There are large things happening with the name branded on it. It's not too late but It's getting close to the point of no return. I am not against the coin at all, only the name. I think everyone invested in Cloak whether it be 2 years ago or 2 days ago can somewhat agree that regardless of what happens in the future of this coin, a new name would only help it rise more than with the old name. Alty, "1: got in way over their heads" So you agree with some of the things I said. "We can debate all we want but what happened....happened" Can't let what happened go I guess Hats off to you Alty, you replied so quickly to my post....unlike the last few weeks of the "original team" thread.
