21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm very disappointed with myself. on: June 03, 2018, 03:24:49 PM
The thing is that sometimes we all make these mistakes no matter how long we have been in the market or how much we understand the market prices. The truth remains that there is no way for any of us to tell if the price of a coin will keep going up or not so we often sell when we see that we have made little profits so we don't end up watching the price fall down again. Don't beat yourself over it, happens to the best of us
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whether the new coin can survive? on: June 01, 2018, 09:52:21 AM
A lot of the new coins that we are seeing now are more likely to die out in a couple of years which is why you should never invest in new coins for the long term. You are better off investing in them for the short term or better still just trading with them instead of buying them to hold. Most of the new coins really have nothing to offer because it is just a bunch of people who are trying to make some quick money
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a altcoin valuable on: June 01, 2018, 09:32:29 AM
The people who are investing and using a coin are what makes an altcoin valuable. If people are not investing in an altcoin then that altcoin has no value. The more people come into a project, the more valuable the coin becomes. It is basically the law of demand and supply. If demand outweighs supply then the price and value of the coin will skyrocket
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market going RED! on: May 31, 2018, 02:37:29 PM
It does look like the price is back in green again although there isn't much of a growth to speak of from the coins. The last dip really took everyone by surprise, it seems hell bent on lasting a while before another price recovery will start again. It is normal that we are seeing red markets. It will just take a while for the prices to go back up then we will start seeing more green in the market
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is buying new listed coin profitable? on: May 30, 2018, 08:30:54 PM
It can be but it is not always an exact science what will happen to these so called new coins. They are very risky to put money in, so when you invest in them you should have it in mind that there is a high chance that these new coins will be unlisted which means that you would be losing money from it. You do stand to make a lot of money if the price of the coin you invested in ends up going up.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can crytocurrency reduce Global Poverty ? on: May 29, 2018, 08:46:32 PM
Cryptocurrency is not the solution to end reduce global poverty, the way to reduce global poverty would be for people to be less greedy with the way that they handle wealth. The reason for poverty is that the wealth is not evenly distributed and as we can see even in cryptos, there will always be people who have more than others do and still try to get more from it, in cryptos we call these people whales.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: looks is right time to invest on: May 29, 2018, 08:20:49 PM
Does look like the right time to invest. Prices went down drastically these past couple of weeks, all of the coins have gone down to really cheap prices so it has looked like a sale this past week. People should not panic, if you have the money to do so then now is the time for you to buy into those coins that you have always wanted to buy into as you would be getting them at a very cheap price
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge tokens during Bounties on: May 28, 2018, 11:15:38 AM
A large number of tokens means nothing if the prices of the tokens are not worth much. Someone could get tens of thousands of tokens but they would not have a reasonable value. Imagine having thousands of coins but the value of the coins are not even up to $100 in their value, that means that the tokens are worthless. Quality before quantity, some bounties can pay you a small number of coins but the price of the coins will be high which would mean that you would make a lot of money from the coins
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Verge on the Verge of Collapse After getting Hacked & Losing 35M XVG Coins on: May 28, 2018, 10:48:50 AM
Verge just seems to be hitting one dead end after another. They have had two hacks in the span of two months, that is a lot of blows for a project which is still struggling to keep up in the market. If verge can come out of this stronger, then I believe that they would able to survive anything in the future and I will invest in the project. it needs it's investors now more than ever though.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose the legit coin at launch? on: May 27, 2018, 04:27:30 PM
Thanks for your replies, guys.

Therefore, only one small piece of advice from my own experience.
-   If you see that the new coin has premain (explicit or hidden in the first blocks)
-   if you see that it is supposed to have masternodes
-   if you see that the developer, as a rule in Discord, offers to buy from him these masternodes
-> run!
This is 99.99% scam.
After the sale of the masternode, developer will leave the project and launch new one.
Do not lose your money, bypass these projects.

This is sound advice right here. masternodes have always being one of the signatures of a scam coin. People should be more informed to know that masternodes are a not a good idea in a coin. The developers are most likely just trying to sell as much coins in as little time as possible. Once they get what they are looking for, they will most definitely leave the project which means the investors will end up with dead coins.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many ICOs on: May 27, 2018, 03:52:53 PM
It is true that there are way too many ICOs right now. Just look at the market and try to find an ICO to invest in, you would be shocked at how many you would find and you would just become confused as to which one you want to choose out of all of it. Now we all need to be extra careful in choosing the ICOs that we put our money in. Do adequate research to make sure that you are investing in a good one.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking for a long term coin on: May 25, 2018, 10:14:22 AM
The most established coin are the ones that you should be looking at when you want to invest for the long term so I would suggest that you buy bitcoin. I mean it is safe to say that when investing in cryptocurrencies that bitcoin is the safest option to stick with because at this point the coin is the least likely to fail. the investors in the coin would never let it fail due to huge stakes that they have in it
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I do not believe ico anymore on: May 25, 2018, 09:48:03 AM
The reason that you are losing so much is because you are investing in ICOs who do not have any product to offer. Of course the prices will go down because the price of bitcoin is going down but if you invested in a good ICO then you shouldn't have a problem with holding the coins for a while for the prices to starting going back up again. Just be careful about ICOs that you invest in.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will end the hype of ICO ? on: May 24, 2018, 12:46:13 PM
We do need sanctions and rules and regulations that ICOs have to meet before they are put into the market in order to combat the growing problem of ICOs scams now. There is just way too much that is being done using ICOs and soon enough the scam coins will overshadow the good ones and that will be the last straw which breaks the camels back and people will stop investing in ICOs
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you using ETH for? on: May 24, 2018, 12:09:39 PM
I am using it for investment purposes and an asset and where it is applicable I use it as a currency to pay for goods and services. Mostly though I am just buying ethereum when the price is low and holding for the long term for the prices to go back up again before I can sell them and take out the profit which I make and then repeat the process all over again.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk account rank upgrade?? on: May 23, 2018, 10:27:00 AM
Looking at your account, you are still a newbie and the way for you to increase the rank of your account would be for you to keep posting. The more you post, the more your activity increases and once you get to thirty activity then your account is automatically upgraded to a junior account. From there you would need ten merit to upgrade to member but that one is harder anyway as people are not keen on giving out merits
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone talks about the fall of the market. Is it so? on: May 22, 2018, 12:45:16 PM
When people talk about the fall of the market, I'm pretty sure they are just referring to the fall in prices of the coins and not the fall of the market itself. People are dumping their coins because they are getting scared and that is why prices of coins are still dropping. It might take a while but the prices will start recovering too. Just be patient and hold those precious coins like you are holding on for dear life
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you join airdrop? on: May 21, 2018, 02:38:02 PM
Not often, maybe once in a while and when I have the time I do a couple of airdrops at a time to see how much tokens I can get from them. A lot of them end up never paying out but I don't worry about that because it is expected but there are some that do pay out and even if it is not a lot money, it is still a good way to get some coins and see if you might end up investing in the project.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum reached $800 mark on: May 20, 2018, 07:05:32 AM
It has gone back down again and is now struggling. It really did go to a good place and price during the recovery but the dump that came after was inevitable as people who have been waiting for the price to go back to such prices were already waiting to sell and their activities is what sent the prices back down again. Hopefully it goes back to $800 again soon and this time stay past that.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin making alts useless on: May 20, 2018, 06:42:01 AM
Alts are making alts useless because there are so many of them in the market, bitcoin is not negatively affecting any of the alts. They do their own part and are used for whatever you want. Bitcoin was the first which is why it is growing so much, what do you expect it to do? stop growing and wait for the alts to catch up  Grin Grin An alt that will do well will do well, with or without bitcoin
