9,940 Feathercoins have now been sent to WeTradeCoins to distribute half to the miner of block 33,000 and the rest between everyone who helped mine the block Smiley

We had planned on splitting the entire bounty for the last block to the entire pool.  Since this was your bounty contest if you would like us to give half to the finder and half to the pool then we will though, is that what you would like us to do?

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY 10BTC] Mining FTC blocks 1BTC@32880,32900,32920,32940,32960 5BTC@33,000 on: May 24, 2013, 06:49:34 AM

Still confused: Was it 5 or 10 BTC for block 33,000?

wemineftc.com says: "For the last 5BTC being rewarded for 33,000 we will be splitting up the reward to all pool members if our pool finds it."

wemineftc.com seems to think it's 5BTC for block 33,000 - and not 10BTC, no?

Strange thing: wemineftc.com does not even list block 33,000 in it's block stats page:
Code:
33,014	17 left	FTC_Greece	2013-05-23 10:30:24 PM	539
33,013 16 left freethrow 2013-05-23 10:29:08 PM 38,624
33,008 11 left torrerre 2013-05-23 09:44:30 PM 47,528

5BTC from original, 5BTC from the second generous donor because we beat the clock hitting 33000.

I read it as 5+5BTC = 10BTC that will be split evenly to all members that were mining at WeMineFTC for block 33000.  Or maybe the second 5BTC from the other donor was slated for just the miner.  Happy to let Bushstar sort that out.

The 33000 block isn't listed on there because it was orphaned, but we know the orphan block was from WeMineFTC and Bushstar has ruled that he'll be rewarding the WeMineFTC pool instead of some solo FTC hater.  Makes sense.

Correct on all accounts.  I knew it was 5BTC for certain so I put 5BTC in the news article to avoid confusion in case the speed goal wasnt hit.  The plan was to split the entire bounty (which now is confirmed to be 10BTC) to the entire pool as I said in the news (except for the 1BTC blocks which would have gone completely to the miner who found it.)

The fact it was an orphan block is why its not showing in the found block list.

Good job bushstar and FTC team.  Thank you and good job to our miners.  Job well done to all other FTC miners and pools on reaching the fork target block before the weekend!

Hi guys, I wasnt around earlier but if I understand correctly we found the block and have been deemed the recpt of the bounty?  To those asking yes, the plan for the last block was to split it among the miners based on what they did to find the block.  It will use the regular pplns algorithm.

We will coordinate with Bushstar to get the bounty in FTC or if he wants to send it in BTC we will convert it to FTC.  We need to send it to the members as FTC for the obvious reason of the miners are setup with FTC addresses, not BTC addresses and it would be too complicated to get everyones BTC addresses, etc.  So we will just put it in the members accounts as FTC balance.

We are participating in the bounty, if you find the block at wemineftc.com we will coordinate getting your BTC address to bushstar.

Has something gone screwy again, or have we had the exact same bad luck consistently for 4 days in a row?   What are the odds on that?   I was generating ~30% higher at the higher difficulty before it recently dropped to where it is now....only 1-2% invalids, everything is humming away.

what up?

Check your hashrate charts. And your uptime. Were you hashing 24/7?

5/18/13 - Gtalk Alert On Down Worker, Alternative E-mail For Alerts
In addition to the recently announced ability to be e-mailed of a down worker we have expanded the system to allow you also send alerts to a Gtalk address and gave the ability to set an alternative e-mail for alerts. By default the system will send the e-mail to your account e-mail but we realize some users may want to use a specific email for the alerts so we have added the ability to set a different email for worker alerts. Just head over to the account details page and you can set the gtalk address and alternative e-mail address for alerts there. We also have fixed the issue where some ISP's were blocking password reset emails so if you had trouble in the past with password reset e-mails not reaching you that should be fixed now.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Critical Update] Feathercoin 0.6.4 - Hard Fork at block 33,000 on: May 18, 2013, 05:03:45 AM
Please check this BushStar, there is an error in the latest update.

https://github.com/FeatherCoin/FeatherCoin/issues/6

I have been running it on linux since it came out as the backend of a p2pool server without a hitch.

Well after we built it and loaded it it was crashing every 5 minutes and restarting.  We switched back to the old build and everything was fine.  If we wait for a block to be found could this solve the issue?

Build it yourself from source.

They were all built from source.  The old version which has no issues and the new version that crashes were built on the same box, using the exact same packages.  I am going to try to recompile again and see what happens.

Huge updates once more Smiley

5/16/13 - E-mail Alert On Down Worker, Block Finder Stats
We have made some additions to the pool website including the ability to be alerted by e-mail when your miner goes offline for more than 5 to 10 minutes. You will be emailed when it goes offline and then every hour after that until the miner comes back online or you disable the alert in the worker panel. Also by popular request we added a block finder stats page showing the top 50 block finders in the pool and also shows you which of your workers have found blocks and how many. Lastly the side bar and top site stats will update automatically when on the site or on site irc chat giving you always up to date information. More features coming soon, stay tuned! Help us grow the pool and spread the word about WeMineLTC!

5/14/13 - New DNS Servers, More DDOS Protection, More Servers
We have upgraded our dns infrastructure to be more fault tolerant and attack resistant. We have also added a new DDOS protected server stratum2.wemineltc.com:3333. Further, we now have 2 different ddos protected IPS for the eu server from 2 different ddos providers. If you have issues with eu.wemineltc.com you can use eubackup.wemineltc.com (we recommend setting this as a failover in cgminer if you use the eu server, and the stratum2.wemineltc server as a 2nd backup). We also have a seperate ddos protected link to the site incase the main protected link goes down, you can use http://www2.wemineltc.com (bookmark or note this down). We are working around the clock to constantly upgrade the infrastructure to keep things going strong.

36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journey to creating new physical Bitcoin! on: May 15, 2013, 01:34:13 PM
I am on the process to creating a physical bitcoin.

The coin has been designed and is currently in the manufacturing process.

However I am stuck on the bitcoin address part.

How will one redeem the bitcoin from the coin? any help guys would be great!

you should make the bitcoin backup into paper, then fold it in the coin and then mold it alltogether. This way, to claim the btc, the physical one must be destroyed first Tongue

FC is traded on an exchange so unlike FC2 it should probably be taken seriously.
So Chinacoin should be taken seriously? YaCoin too?

Before putting hard earned money into a coin you need to do some research into a coin. Check if there is a community that supports the coin, if there is active development working on the code base and if there are active plans to further the use of the coin with merchants and services.

Feathercoin is what I spend all my time on and I take it very seriously.

Wallets updated Bushstar!! Let the coins roll in Tongue
