21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xiropht (XIRO): Fast, Lightweight and Portable Centralized Cryptocurrency. on: July 21, 2019, 12:46:07 PM
I'm going to get it from both sides but at this point oh well.

There was a seed node update done 6-20 at about 7 AM EDT to 8 AM EDT.

It appears that the issue with phantom blocks is possibly corrected.

Before this, about 35% of blocks found went to other miners, and about 35% of other miners blocks would come to your wallet when miners didn't show that you had found a block.  So reward system was obviously flawed in some manner.

About 30% of blocks found by your miners were recorded as legit.

So it took a bunch of bans from xiro discord and a lot of crap to get it done after months of the dev knowing about the issue.  But at least it appears to have been resolved.

Will monitor to make sure.

Okay Slapdonkey, you may now proceed to trash me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Be aware the blockchain and seed nodes are centralized.

Code for them is private.

So changes good or bad can be done at the devs fancy.

Hi everyone,

I am the developer of Xirorig. Some people will know me as I am the only one who created an alternative miner for this coin. (Believe or not it is way faster than the official one)

I have made my statement on my xirorig discord that I am dropping the project. That means that Xirorig will no longer be updated and thus be unsupported in the near future. I would like to thank everyone for their suppport.

You can still grab a copy of Xirorig through https://github.com/TheDialgaTeam/Xirorig/releases
This repository will not be deleted and is archived.

I will move on to another project. Sorry for the quick departure but I have reasons not to continue doing something that will be down the drain later.

Bye!

If you need any help for Xirorig, you may still approach me @ jianmingyong#4964
The pool project has also been dropped as well. Good luck mining! Wish you the best.

Anyone is allowed to fork my codes with proper credit.

Your friendly Dorumon,
jianmingyong

Jian you been a great help to me understanding coding better.  Thank you for all your hard work.

LOL, to bad you bought to high.

That's like me buying a clunker of a car, realize I paid to much, and then trying to sell it for what I paid.  Bzzzzt! Not going to happen.

PPL don't pay for others mistakes.

The infrastructure is sound, not an issue.

Bit tough to mine, but oh well.

BTW, still think the web wallet is not needed once Android wallet done

Blockchain code and seed node code will not be released till V 1.0 is finished.  End of story.  Don't like it, move on.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Xiropht (XIRO): Fast, Lightweight and Portable Centralized Cryptocurrency. on: June 22, 2019, 02:47:37 AM
There's a lot.  HAHA, even a QR code is used from wallet to the seed nodes which I never heard of
But it's there.

A bit about the process.  It started back in late 2017 but was scrapped due to concerns of the security overall.

Since that time, MANY layers of security and encryption have been added.  I lost count to be honest.

There's so many layers of security and encryption I don't even know how many
Maybe 20 or so throughout the system?
That's why it's hard to put in easy terms

For the wallet to just do a tx there is encryption, a token system, and also a qr code(never heard of that)
That's on top of packet checking to make sure they are not deformed
Then it gets to the seed node and node says, okay proceed
For the GUI wallet even on your own PC the transactions are encrypted.

Then at chain level I have no idea how many layers are used.
It's like encrypted and then encrypted again, and then again
That's along with the token system.

All will be published once the coding is complete.

Okay great, no premine but yeah what is the purpose of this another altcoin? You have fast, lightweight features but these will be put into use if you have so many users using your coin for this purpose. Any merchant interested in deploying your coin to their network?

Since the coin is a new method/algo, adoption will take longer than most coins.  If we can be on exchange and usable through a processor like Coinpayments.net, in a year, I would say that is fair.

Best crypto i have used. Simple for users. Flawless transactions. 1 second time for a transfer to happen. I can see all my transactions at the press of a button. Download all my own transactions. Don't see any issues on the user side. May not understand the tech, but if i press a button and it does what I want? i'm going to use it. Any negativity not directed toward the user experience is just specualation. All users need a coin such as this to make it easier for them to get into crypto and find how simple it really can be. it does what a crypto is supposed to do. and the security is far and away the best I have ever seen in a crypto.
Just my .02.
YMMV.

For security, just to initiate a transaction there are 4 layers/methods of encryption that are used and if any one is spoofed the tx is not accepted.

Then in the chain, there are multi layers of encryption to protect the data.

Virtually impossible for any mortal to hack.  Would take literally 100s of thousands of years to hack.

Even quantum computing would take longer than most would be alive.

LOL

So we got that out of the way, great.

Now for the tech.

First hand wins

Again, i will repeat that before u sell your coin at 350 sat, send me a pm, i might be able to buy the entire lot at a price slightly higher than that .

Bashing a coin you want to buy?  And this is you aka tittybop or whatever you choose today. Sounds like manipulation to me.  LOL

This person has over 25 alt names that I counted so far spread across MANY chats.

I would take what they say with a grain of salt.

Lots of mining going on there.  http://spookypool.nl/XIR/

 Grin

The reason you were banned was due to racist, defamatory, and lewd comments to the posters in addition to constantly spamming about a resolved issue.  Initially, the trading channel was removed due to your obnoxious actions.

As for the integrity of the dev, probably one of the most honest folks I ever met.  Are you aware when he ran CN pools that he took A LOT of coins from his own pocket to pay miners due to network issues beyond his control that the coin devs never even helped resolve.  And to this day they remain unresolved with their poor code?  Nice folks at those coins.  At least about $1000 USD was paid out to make miners whole. That is a fact.

As for code being open source, it will be once all initial fixes are completed.  And not till then. Impatience does not a good project make.  Actually, it's ahead by about 6 months.

You do know he's not hiding?

This is brand new and not a clone of another algo.  Because of the goal of the project, poor code will not be released.

Haven't been here in a while, but the Doge network really got slow. Still have about a half million left from the beginning, that I'm waiting to update on wallet 1.10 and is taking forever. Seems like the blockchain got bloated with many smaller transactions.  Oh well, Doge is Doge.  Glad I cashed most of it when Amagi was selling silver for Doge Grin
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 13, 2014, 05:43:31 AM
So I have some good news and bad news to report.

Lets start off with the good news:

Coinpayments has been bought over by another company and will most likley continue to run after the 31st March with iCoin as a payment option. Smiley

The bad news:

It is pretty much confirmed that coinmarket.io was a scam exchange and we know iCoin had most of initial buyers on that platform.

Going fwd, with exchanges if you unsure of who the owner is and you want to trade, withdraw your trades back to your personal wallets on completion, it's getting rough
out there atm.

Good deal. I just read the info at Coinpayments so CryptoAlley stays up and running, with Mitm as an escrow service.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 09, 2014, 05:21:27 PM
CryptoAlley has decided to remain open while searching for another payment processor solution. For BTC, LTC, DOGE, and VERT, mitm.io will be the required payment form since it is escrow service, free to both buyer and seller. All other coins will be an offline option which means that buyer and seller exchange info through CryptoAlley messaging system so there is a record of the transaction.

Everything will remain as is at CryptoAlley except that during the transition period listings will need approval to be sure payment options are correct.  It will take a couple days to get this done so please bear with us.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 09, 2014, 03:59:28 PM
Hey everybody, here is the full update from coinpayments, referred to us by one of our merchants...

Hello username,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of CoinPayments.net. FinCEN has ruled that Bitcoin is in their purview which would make us a money transmitter. We simply do not have the resources to register with FinCEN and most of the 50 states as a MSB and comply with all of the AML/KYC laws (and no realistic way to raise the funds to do so.)

The shutdown will happen in 3 stages:
1. We will stop accepting new user registrations effective immediately.
2. We will stop processing new transactions at 11:59:59 PM EST on March 24, 2014 (transactions already in progress at that time will be completed).
3. The website will otherwise remain operational until 11:59:59 PM EST on March 31st, 2014 when it will be shut down.

Any refunds due must be requested by the end of March 31st, 2014 and any funds held in your account withdrawn. Keeping the website open for a week from the last new transaction should give everyone ample time to wrap up their affairs in the site.

We extend our sincerest apologies to you and everyone else who has relied on CoinPayments for over 7 months,
MrData & pr0d1gy
CoinPayments.net
Not good. Leave it to the gov to ruin a good thing Angry  Cryptoalley will be shutting down till we can find another payment processor. All user info will be kept so you can pickup where you left off once a processor is found.

CryptoAlley has items listed with iCoins and more coming the rest of the week.  Just so you all know, you can sell digital goods at CryptoAlley(Digital Downloads) as long as they don't exceed 2MB.  So if you know bands that want to sell their tunes, have ebooks, whatever, CryptoAlley is there to serve.   Also, looking for services?  We have reverse auctions.  Bob wants his yard mowed. Bill, John, and Bertha start bidding and the lowest bid gets the job.

CryptoAlley is a great place to get people to start to use iCoin and as a community, you can make it happen.

Just made my 1st bid on CryptoAlley, my dad will love the Merrill's Maurders Patch for his WW2 collection. Smiley
Guaranteed an original.  My uncle was a MM.  I have all his service ribbons from that time also.  I'm getting them authenticated this weekend.  My Mom used to tell me stories about him telling stories about the action. Believe it or not, the MM guys were mostly Army, but Unc was a Marine that volunteered. He's one of the 20% that aren't in the roles, but he was there.

BTW, I want the pics, but I haven't mined enough ICN yet Cheesy  That's why I ask about Ð?

CryptoAlley is kind of strange.  You have the pics for ICN and I have Ð.  I can bid in ICN and do the conversion at checkout with Ð.  Did you catch that?  Coinpayments and CryptoAlley have put together probably the strangest trading platform ever.  There's a learning curve, but I'll bet you send thos great photos to me.  Never did tell me on CryptoAlley messaging, when are they from?

Just replied, sorry didn't notice the PM Smiley
NP, it appears at the top of the left column when you login.  Took me a while too to notice that Cheesy Cheesy

I have LED bulbs I'd like to sell, can these be listed? have you have much call for electronic goods?
List them and spread the word.  Hmmm? What kind of LEDs?  CryptoAlley is new, just like iCoin.  Think of CryptoAlley as the eBay of the crypto world. You never know what people are looking for and to boot, there's no fees right now.  All listing capabilities are free and there's no final value fee.  Maybe someday, but not now.  Follow the terms, list, and have fun.  Most everything you need to get started is on our help page and if not, just contact support@cryptoalley.com.

just your normal household gu10 leds, we use them here in the uk, I have various others too

We don't have "normal" leds for the US.  They're like $30.00 USD for a "bulb" that maybe light your bedroom.  Deffinately put them up there.  Not costing you anything except some time and pictures to list them.  The more the merrier Grin

EDIT:  CryptoAlley was put on the net to give people the chance to support their coin.  Do we have everything reprogrammed from fiat?  Naaaaah. That's why there's no fees and that's a good thing.  CryptoAlley wants to be the place that folks can come and have a good time selling and buying.  As a matter of fact, there's a forum for CA in the works.  That gives regular folks a chance to chat, compare notes, and really do something with crypto, iCoin or whatever.  Sound good?

Hi DigiT,

I have put up the following auction on your website, do I need to register with coinpayments for the transaction to go through for iCoin? I am guessing I need to setup my wallet somewhere...
