woooop got my funds! phew

What list were you on?

I'm on the 4/6 list and nothing let

I personally did some work on your issue today and you should be getting a new Gox code soon.

URSAY, I had the same problem as Fyouself I believe. I need a new mt gox code as mine was not working and I would truly like some helps. My deposit was 4/3 and I'm on the 4/6 list as well. Thank you.

Because you have not only made me miss a huge bubble, potentially robbing me of opportunity to make 100s, but also caused me to miss the lowest BTC has been in weeks; I expect to be compensated at the lowest price BTC has been at throughout the whole 'deposit pending' process, which has been since 4/3, well over a week.

I have no doubt you will comply...
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 12, 2013, 09:49:57 PM
Thank god bitcoin has been static since April 3rd when I deposited, otherwise I would have missed a lot of action and I'd be pretty upset.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 11, 2013, 03:46:38 PM
Done with PMs.  If you didn't receive a response then your issue is already logged, we already have enough info, and we are working on your issue!

Please stop asking why you are not being carried over from a previous dated list to a newer dated list.  My system logs issues daily and I do not carry issues forward to new dated lists.  Your ticket priority does not change.  Read my sig if you are confused.

Getting into the thread now and I hope to post a working 4/11 list soon.  Thanks!  Cheesy

Okay since you are going to ignore my PM i'll just post my question/comment here:

Hello URSAY, I have been patient, but my patience is wearing thin when BitInstant caused me to miss a fairly large bubble costing me potentially 100s of dollars. I understand that what happened to my code must be resolved but there is no reason that has to happen BEFORE you send me a new different code for my funds. Regardless of what happened with my first code, you are going to send me a new one eventually, so send me a new one now, and figure the rest out later.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 10, 2013, 10:13:48 PM
So would BitInstant like to comment on what is going to happen to those who deposited over a week ago, and yet have still not received our funds, missing a fairly sizable BTC bubble that happened today. I would have sold a decent chunk of my BTC off at ~$250 (after ostensibly buying at ~115 if I got my funds as expected) to probably cover my some portion of my initial investment, and kept the rest in BTC. Because of the 7+ day delay in receiving funds though I and many others have missed the opportunity.

I can't say for sure what exactly I would or would not have done with my BTC had I had it when the bubble approached and began, but I would have been in control had I had my own money....

Read my sig.

No, your sig does not my address my issue. Your sig addresses what rate I will get my coins at.

What I am saying is, I SHOULD of had ~4.17 BTC today to do whatever I wanted to do with, as this bubble approached and BTC ultimately crashed. I would have sold some portion of these as BTC began to crash, locking in some profit and leaving me with some BTC left over. Instead I had NO btc to sell due to bitinstant's issue, thus depriving me of the profit opportunity.

Well of course you would have sold at the top... Everyone was going to.

I certainly would have sold some at some point in the downswing. When and how much? Who knows. I don't know, bitinstant doesn't know, no one can ever know. All I know is the locus of control was taken from me due to faulty BitInstant something or other.

I hope we have all learned never to use Bitinstant again. Deposits through Bank of America are cheaper and at least you can trust the bank not to be this incompetent. USRAY i appeciate your efforts in fixing my issue but when you tried to insinuate this was not Bitinstants fault i lost my respect for you. Ignoring me would have been a wiser option but either way I'll never use this service again. Thanks to the poster who alerted me to the drop in bitcoin prices. I spent my remaining coins just in time before the price drop registered. Good luck everyone and middle finger to Bitinstant.

Little more info on this BOA deposit please?
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 10, 2013, 06:52:32 PM
And now BTC has crashed depriving me of the opportunity to sell at 250 or so (after potentially buying at 115), which I would have. Good stuff. So is bitinstant willing to reimburse me for the max I could have potentially made? I doubt it...
30  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 06, 2013, 03:36:02 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the bitinstant.com website has been updated to reflect the exactly WRONG thing.

When depositing to Mt. Gox from bitinstant.com it now specifies: MtGox Account # (ex. M12345678X). That is NOT what you want to send it to, you want the EXCHANGE ACCOUNT which is your Mt Gox account # without the M preceedng it and X after it (and maybe without one or two other numbers).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure I am not (based on my own and others experiences, and what Mt. Gox specifically says on their bitinstant funding option page (although they later go on to contradict themselves here... https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20490576-Withdrawals-and-Deposits).

Please change that ASAP for your sake, otherwise you are just going to keep getting piled on.
31  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 06, 2013, 03:27:50 PM

Im sorry to inform you this but the redeemable MTGOX code was the APIResponse... (I know, terribly named) and you just posted it up for someone to steal.  Embarrassed

well fuck
just tried to use the code, didnt work.
Fml.
But i selected direct deposit. whyd it gimme a code now?

besides in the beginning of the email, just read that:

"We have made a direct deposit into your MTGox account and there is no need to use the coupon system on this order"

Yes its a real shame and totally confusing. They have admitted multiple times they need to fix it, so they certainly know about it.

The good news is there have been assurances we will be taken care of: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=128314.msg1749530#msg1749530

Also, your code may never have worked in the first place (many others report that despite not posting theirs in public ever), so maybe you didn't actually do any harm at all :/
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 06, 2013, 03:21:18 PM
I'm having the exact same problem as:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83209.msg1745711#msg1745711

and support hasn't answered my email.  I'm guessing bitinstant ran off with my $100?

EDIT: BitInstant now says I should have it within 8 hours.  24 hours later... not very "instant".  I'll report back if I still dont have my money.

Still haven't got mine and I've been waiting since Wednesday.

Order ID?

It didn't have an order ID but I sent a PM to you and or URSAY. It's a ZipZap. I received the email confirming I paid but they never gave me the coins.

Anytime you reference your order you should provide ALL of the details.  This would help us resolve your order faster.  Thanks!  Smiley

EXCEPT FOR THE APIRESPONES FIELD, IF IT LIST SOMETHING IN THE FORMAT OF "MTGOX-USD-XTFD9-EYJUZ-R2SYH-XXXX THAT IS A MT GOX COUPON CODE THAT MAY CONTAIN ALL OF YOUR MONEY.

All caps so you know it's real.

Although some of the coupons have reportedly worked, and some haven't, so who knows.

There needs to be more (any....) explicit warning about this, someone just did it again unfortunately and their code was already used (if it did indeed work...) before I could get to it and hopefully return it to them.

Hello everyone

I accidentaly sent my bitinstant funds to the wrong account (MtGox changed the way the show their account IDs). My order number is 2dc36dd8-f3c1-47cd-8250-d5db52aafc82. If someone from bitinstant could send it to the correct account which is 161891 it would be highly appreciated.

If you got an email confirmation from BitInstant you may have a Mt. Gox coupon code in the API Response field, check that.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 05, 2013, 07:03:40 PM
Paid money in CVS for bitinstant to transfer money to mtgox. Email says money has been sent but I don't see anything in my mtgox account. Can you offer some assistance?

Did you receive any sort of confirmation email?  Please check it for an MTGOX code which you can redeem at MTGOX.  You would find it next to an API response header.  Let me know if this works!  Thanks!

-BitInstant Support

I see where it is under Add funds but it says This code cannot be redeemed (non existing or already used)

edit: nvm got it to work!

Out of curiosity what did you have to do to get it to work? Although doubt you'll be back to suffer with us chumps...

I deposited USD yesterday via CVS/moneygram and still do not see USD on Mt. Gox 12+ hours later.

I did email support@bitinstant as well but this seems to get the most attention so posting here as well.

The relevant details are:

APIResponse: MTGOX-USD-XTFD9-EYJUZ-R2SYH-E75E7

If you need any other info, please let me know.

Have you received any confirmation emails?  Check them closely for MTGOX codes.  If you have MTGOX codes in your confirmation email then you need to redeem them.  Let me know if you still need help.  Thanks!

And just to beat a dead horse because I can't sleep, earlier today bitinstant's own customer service rep (URSAY) didn't even realize/identify there was a Mt. Gox code in the APIResponse there, and if so didn't do anything about it.

I don't point that out to be a dick, just to say if your own employees can't identify it, how are you going to hold a customer culpable (not saying you are, I have no idea because haven't heard anything)?

Although I still don't know for certain if my coupon code I inadvertently posted was indeed stolen or just never worked in the first place like multiple other people have reported, so I'd like to confirm that first.

What I did early when I saw someone post their mt gox coupon code unknowingly I redeemed  it myself and then generated a new code to give to him because I knew if I didnt take it someone else likely would, and they would be less likely than me to give it back.

I've been working at BitInstant for 4-5 days.  Please understand that I am doing my best to get up to speed and help you guys properly handle your transactions.  Smiley

I understand, appreciate your effort and you are doing a good job; just wanted to point out how everyone and their mother -- even (new) employees -- seem to be confused. And I just couldn't sleep obsessing about this, so had to keep posting :/

Wow. I feel quite sorry for all the blokes that posted their Mt. Gox redeemable coupon codes in this thread! Sheesh... that's money down the drain!

THIS. How the fuck does this even happen??? To send the code in an email and not identify the code, and have all of us wondering when our money is going to show up in our account (like the email says it will).

This is unacceptable, and absolutely ridiculous. BitInstant should feel like shit for all the money that got lost this way.

We take care of all of our customers.  Your money will not be lost.

Thanks!
-BitInstant Support

This is reassuring, thank you. Looking forward to more info, but I'm patient as long as I know things are moving along.

Ok so I think i just made a terrible mistake and put the wrong account info into bitinstant to mtgox transfer.  i used the new account with the letters that shows up the main page instead of the old one with just the numbers on the funding options page.  I was told to post my order info here for help.  Is this correct?

Thank you.

Hello, you just made the same mistake I did and posted your public Mt. Gox coupon code (MTGOX-USD-LJ2AU-MS5YW-A9SZ3-8FA2E ) on the forum here. I just used the code and I now have your USD on my Mt. Gox account. Thankfully for you, while I am a piece of shit, I am not the biggest piece of shit, so I will give you your USD back; if I didn't use your code I figured someone else would have but, you know, not given the money back.

Although I don't know how to send money on Mt. Gox directly to another person, so someone tell me how to do that? Or I could trasnfer it via paypal? I dunno, whatever works for you, just didn't want you to have the same thing happen to you that I presume happened to me (although for about 4x as much :/).

PM me your info and we can resolve this.

Edit: Just found out I can generate a Mt. Gox code and just give that to you, so just PM me your email (figure that is more secure, but if you just want it here let me know), and I will generate a code (two actually since I just made one for $1 to test) and send it on over to you.

Please do nto redeem other people's codes.  It adds more work for us and keeps us from resolving more issues.  Thanks!

-BitInstant Support

What do you suggest then, just let someone else redeem it and steal his money? Then both bitinstant will be out the money as well as your customer? How is this better? If you think that's better then I'll stop, just trying to help....

I'm assuming now it has been redeemed by someone else or perhaps it has never worked for you?

I realize these codes are not clear to all customers and I hope this is something that we can fix soon.

We will likely have to cancel this code and get you a new code.  Thanks for your patience.

-BitInstant Support

Yes, if you see my response in this thread, you will see I took his money, and am currently holding it for him waiting for him to contact me so I can return it to him, as I figured someone else would grab it if I didn't but likely not return it.

This same situation happened to me, and I would appreciate some information on how you plan to handle situations like this; because as you said I have no way of knowing if it ever worked as others reported their codes never working from the get go even if they NEVER posted them in any public place.

I appreciate you responding to the above posting regarding this issue.

Hey I accidently provided the Mt Gox account number on the top of the MtGox homepage as opposed to the one on the deposit page.  Is this OK?  You got my payment but MtGox hasen't given me my USD.  I did a Cash -> Mt Gox Code

Do you have an order ID # or any other relevant info?  Thanks!  Smiley

What likely happend is that you were sent a Mt. Gox coupon code in your email, despite the confirmation email saying explicitly this transaction will not need to use the coupon system because they made direct contact with my account. If you don't see a coupon code, that would probably because it's listed under the field 'APIResponse'; yes you read that correctly, APIResonse. You can use that code (it will look like MTGOX-XXX-XXX) on Mt. Gox to deposit your money.

hoping to get assistance in all of this and get a reissued a coupon through email

So you obviously realized to redact the Mt. Gox coupon code in the APIResponse field, did you not try to redeem this code on Mt. Gox? You either didn't realize it was a code but redacted it for some reason anyways, realized it was a code and didn't try it, or you tried it and it just didn't work?
