This could be done, but it would require a good deal of book keeping. Additionally to gain interest those coins would need to sit on the network hot, and use up CPU power, taking away from deposits/withdraws. There is risk to an exchange doing this, as such I would guess the majority of the coins are in cold storage, and those that are hot, are set with -reserveblance=999999999 I remember the times when NVC users at BTC-E had issues with deposits and withdrawals coins to/from exchange for several days. As it turned out, the exchange is for real used its wallet for staking, and when too many inputs were originated (and many unconfirmed stakes, nvc uses 520 confirms for newly minted coins), the exchange's wallet started being laggy. So, eventually, after consultations with Balthazar, they turned off staking on the exchange to avoid such problems. |

Which settings one should adjust to decrease effectiveness of mining but to be able to comfortable desctop work at the GPU connected to monitor while mining? I mean - sacrifice a bit mining and decrease lags while working at the PC (similar to intensity in cgminer) |

Возьмем, к примеру, парочку достаточно мелких инпутов с большим возрастом: Time Amount Age Coin*Days 05.08.2013 0,134905 271,23 8,1 16.12.2013 1,6 138,52 96,0 Что мы видим - мы видим, что фактический возраст этих инпутов (вносящий вклад в вес) составляет 60 дней после созревания (30+60), и более не растет, несмотря на то, что прошло 271 и 138 дней соответственно. я правильно понимаю, что входы не копят вес более чем 60 дней?
Более 90 дней с момента созревания, т.е. вес начинает расти с нуля после 30 дней и перестает расти после 120 дней. Т.е. получается, что вес начинает расти с нуля после 30 дней (после созревания) и перестает расти после 90 дней (30+60)  Поправьте, может я что-то упускаю... Update: каюсь, использовал для анализа Coin*Days программку NvcAddressChecker, которая видимо использует устаревшие формулы, по novaco.in максимальный вес через 90 дней после созревания (30+90=120) |

Похоже я упустил из виду одно из изменений протокола - я правильно понимаю, что входы не копят вес более чем 60 дней? Т.е. всякая пузатая мелочь с возрастом в 100-200 дней просто никогда не сгенерирует стейк. Только лишь потому, что их вес (допустим ~100 coin*days) уже давно не растет, а PoS сложность уже приличная (последний сгенерировавший стейк инпут обладал весом ~1000 coin*days) |

Well, there is definitely effectiveness improve with v6.0 compared to v5.0 (~18% less TRT values and ~20% more ch/h values for 7950).
The only thing is that my win7x64 became a bit laggy, even if active GPU (connected to monitor) is off, 4core cpu is only at about 10% of usage.

Hello guys! I'm new to xpm gpu mining and haven't read the whole thread yet, as I understood by this moment - this miner uses gpu memory somehow, right?
Is it worth it to drop/decrease gpu memory frequency?
Or just better to stay at default core/memory numbers and undervolt the core as possible for stable work?
May be this questions already has been asked, I promise I'll finish the threads reading)

HBN retargets difficulty every block. This will at least guard against trying to overload the blockchain with PoW blocks in a row that are exclusive to one miner. The retarget and the proof of stake should allow HBN to shield itself. Ahh..how could I forget about diff retargets) Yeah..it will be very unprofitable soon after the attack. But the diff will rise not only for the attacker, but for other PoW miners too...and then goes the distributed PoS, you're right. *Just some thoughts aloud* |

By the way, LTC GPU mining is already barely profitable even in Russia with 0.1$ per kwh, I think in Europe the situation is more sadly.
And HBN mining is around 105-110% of LTC mining most of the time.

как я понял у рукона был второй блокчайн не для транзакций а для сообщений - который подтверждаллся первым блокчайном если это у новы сделать то было бы круть - тогда не нотариусов ни всяких служб государственных (ЗАГСЫ, ЕГРЦ...) по учету не надо - все в блокчайне с сообщениями шифровать А я слышал, что первой монетой, интегрировавшей transaction messages (подписи к транзакциям), был ныне почти забытый форк лайта Florincoin) Не знаю, был ли там 2й блокчейн или нет, по видимому нет, но свои 5 копеек вставил) |

And this is top volume exchange, and HBN volume at Cryptsy is sitting in around top 20 most traded currencies. Everyone is holding and many ones are constantly buying, so the price is steadily rising. ... do we have a long term solution against thoses problems?
