21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Help] Solo mining with my 4 rigs. on: May 22, 2013, 10:18:53 PM
Do it this way, you want your most reliable rig to host the wallet so say if you are going to mine feathercoin just as an example I do mine this way.
I hope your on windows or I am probably wasting my time but here goes.

Main rig with the wallet mining feather is pointed at 127.0.0.1:9337
I start feathercoin-qt.exe with the -server command by putting a .bat file in the same folder as the qt.exe and then the text inside that .bat file is "feathercoin-qt.exe -server" without the quotes.

Now on the rig with the wallet you will want to go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Feathercoin and create feathercoin.conf. Inside feathercoin.conf looks like this for me.
Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
server=1
daemon=1
port=9336
rpcport=9337
rpcallowip=53.38.15.*
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Where mine says 53.38.15 most peoples are 192.168 etc those are just important numbers to me for one reason or another.
Last thing you gotta do is give your main rig a static ip with your router (meaning it does not change), start your feathercoin wallet and let it download the whole block chain until it is in sync and then you can point your miner at it. Then go to your other 3 miners and point them at 53.38.15.Whatever static number you decide, port 9337 with a username and password that matches your feathercoin.conf and you have your own little network of miners going.

I'm sorry I am not better at tutorials but I hope this will help you get where you need to be, if you need help giving your main rig a static ip, let me know and I will tell you how. Good luck.

It's taking an insane amount of time for my client to sync, is that normal? I mean it would be like me installing the Bitcoin client right now.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=208747.msg2193461#msg2193461

Ahh ok thank you for that, I definitely have only the new client as I just installed it tonight. I missed the original Gamecoin release. Thanks again.

I'm feeling kind of sickly today and may just be stupid or lost or both but I can't figure out how to get the windows client. I went here
Code:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0f2VDPOrXt4dzk1dzNzb3F5bmc/edit?usp=sharing
and tried to download each file separately but it gives me a 404 error? Can someone please point me to a regular download or explain how to get those files from that google docs page? Thanks much in advance and sorry to be a nuisance. Just a bit medicated today and not thinking properly I think. lol

Turns out I need a version for linux to run my site properly.  WINE doesn't feel like working with either gamecoind.exe or gamecoin-qt.exe...

I'll see if I can convert it myself, but I'd like someone else to try as well.
Could someone please help out with this?  My server doesn't feel like compiling the files...

Can't say I've ever tried compiling on linux but it should be the same as for litecoin with the exception you're using the github linked in the first post. Maybe try this:

https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php?topic=43.0

Hope you figure it out. Cheesy

Thank you Petr1fied! Smiley

dgc.scryptmining.com great pool Wink join us

Whats the port??

http://dgc.scryptmining.com/gettingstarted has an error so cannot see port number to connect to.

lol   posted the same info 45 seconds sooner.

Hopefully they take a look at the server and these posts to make some corrections.  I am on the afraid.org server but at 200ms ping sucks with only a portion of my hashing being reported, but I am getting some coins.

Wish I would not have been busy earlier during the release to solo mine.

I'll get a full coin eventually.

DGC - DK57tvcHSwXDqqP9NnxwBKTKFu9rudzftR
3338 Stratum port it shows on the homepage.

New Pool: http://dgc.scryptmining.com/

Try us out.  PPLNS

Port number used to connect? I don't see anything on the site.

If you just hit the home button it shows the port. Smiley

Now if someone can tell what settings to put in reaper with the stratum proxy I will be good to go. My cgminer rigs are hashing fine but the old one with reaper I don't know what settings to start stratum proxy with.

I'm sorry but this doesn't seem remotely like a fair launch to me. I was on different coins sometimes a whole day later than this one and had more coins in an hour than I do right now. I now have been throwing 1400 kH/s at this for 2 hours and a 1000 kH/s for an hour before that and have 58 coins to show for it, 5 of those being donated from some nice miner. Part of the fun of a new coin is finding blocks solo, I remember when I found 2 litecoin blocks in 2 days when everyone said it was not worth soloing a few months after it had launched and that was with a single 4890, lol. I know all my settings are correct as I mine all kinds of different coins and have different cgminer folders for each miner. Infact this is my settings except I turn the intensity up if I am not at the computer, my other 2 PCs are running at 18.
So you're saying a fair launch means get you a ton of coins?  Roll Eyes Fair launch means that tons of people get a small amount of coins. Which seems to be the case with this coin.

Did I ever say I thought I should have 10k coins right now?.....no I did not. But I do know the electricity I just spent was more or less completely wasted because 58 coins in 3 hours is well ....shit.

I've added a new p2pool.

Here are the parameters:

cgminer --scrypt -o next.afraid.org:8119 -u yourDGCaddress -p . --queue 0 -s 1

statistics available here: http://next.afraid.org:8119

2% fee.

This one is up, and I fully reliable.

cgminer says it's dead?

Any donations welcome here as well, I am throwing almost 1000 kH/s between mine, my wifeys and my kids computer and got 14 coins in the last 45 minutes lol. If the rejects were blocks I would be ok.

Sounds awesome, I am in the central time zone so that is 6am about 12 hours from now correct? Will the wallet download and info for ports etc. be posted in this thread? I like your idea for the launch hopefully the guys with crazy hash power won't be able to pump and dump the hell out of this one!  Cool
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN][LTC][BTC][NMC][Pool][PPLNS] - P2Pool.org - P2Pool Multi-Mining Pool on: May 19, 2013, 04:00:56 AM
I have been mining on your feathercoin pool for almost 24 hours without 1 single payout. Any idea what is going on? I will switch to somewhere else until I figure out how much time and energy was wasted while I was not home.

   How much would you want for the entire account? Hell I don't even care about the gold that much but let me know what you are looking for.

Had an awesome trade with with Wed, he provided me a screenshot of the receipt and product key from DreamSpark and even offered to help me get the iso if I needed to. I sent him 0.25 BTC he sent the key and then I sent the rest of the BTC. Very fair trade and I am a very happy customer! We really need a place on the forum to leave feedback for others, this is his first trade, it seems like it would be hard to make a rep for yourself with no specific place to keep things.  Thanks again Wed.

Is this coin going to be SHA-256 or Scrypt based? Sorry if it has been answered already but unless I am on the wrong thread I do not see it. Or if you just want to point me to the whitesheet or an info page is fine too. Thanks for your quick response and thanks for working on this coin!
