21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin now you think had a good future on: March 24, 2018, 05:23:11 PM

Ethereum is pretty good for the future of Cryptocurrency. but compared to Ethereum, Bitcoin is much better than Ethereum. because Bitcoin has a high potential for mining is high enough.

The only reason that makes Bitcoin better than Ethereum is its price. But other aspects Ethereum is much better. If you we're be able to compare the progression of Bitcoin to Ethereum it is obvious that the growth and utilization of Ethereum is much better. Many platforms are just now accepting Bitcoin that's why it has the upper hand, thus making its price very high. But when it comes to exchange and whatnot, Ethereum has the advantage. For example the ICOs, they are mostly based on Ethereum.
22  Other / Meta / Re: People might sell they're merit points. on: March 24, 2018, 05:16:16 PM
It will really be a dishonorable act to sell merits, than for one to sell merits why not introduce a challenge for the newbies then those who are up to the task awarded.

I'm not trying to be bad or anything, but that's just plain cleverness. I mean, since the higher ranks don't really give too much attention to the lower ranks. So by sharing merits to other members that are the same rank as yours will help yourselves.

But on the other hand, maybe those members that wanted to share merits wanted to recognize members that are really worthy of receiving Merit(s).
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you start from zero cash and make a living with the opportunities in crypto? on: March 24, 2018, 05:01:52 PM
~snip~
Yes! It is possible. If you don't have money to make investment, this forum can help you to gain profit even if you don't have capital. You will only use your skills and knowledge for you to make money with cryptocurrencies.

Indeed it is. But bear in mind that this is just a mere stepping stone. So use this or take advantage on this to get to the real deal. And that is by trading different cryptocurrencies. By then you will now engage into more serious management of your wallets, coins, and monitoring of the prices throughout the cryptos.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: March 17, 2018, 06:01:07 PM
Its already happening in some countries, especially in the first world countries.

Well to attain this status, the country's economy comes first. They need to have a very stable and not that far to the average exchange to other currencies. Second is security, they must have a security that will ensure the safety of their money when they will entrust it to any bank inside that country.

So the cards and other items that can be used in buying items that will allow them to purchase things that do no really require paper money.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Merit rewards for Signature Campaigns! on: March 17, 2018, 04:54:41 PM
I agree in your idea, because as of now many members stuck in their rank because of merits, it hard to get even a single merits from the other, because many members they try to make their good and helpul post for the reason they got merited by the other,we all know merits is very important to us to rank up but sad to say no one notice to their post for the reason there is so many post in the forum, that's why if the CM think that idea and they include that merits in the signature campaign as bonus or other campaign its very helpful to all members to rank up including my self.

If those members remains in their current its because, they're not making posts that other people find very helpful or informative. Therefore, even if you construct a great post you still need some a little bit of skill in making posts. May that be proper grammar, some images, infographs, etc.

Merit is important in way not only for you to rank up, but also because by earning merit it reflects that you're good at what you're doing; you're being helpful and informative.

If you really wanted to rank up, don't just rely on other people giving away Merit, you really need to step up your game.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Time is money, how you manage your money and time ? on: March 17, 2018, 04:28:17 PM
Time has the real value. Did you know that back then, currency doesn't exist, so money don't really have value; though time have been the most underrated thing in the world. I know we have to be patient and do things at the right time, but also keep in mind that time can't turn things back, so if you wanted to do something and you always wanted to do it, don't hesitate, you might regret it afterwards.

If you use your time efficiently, I would say you're going to be successful in whatever you're doing.

29  Other / Serious discussion / Re: To all scammers on: March 01, 2018, 09:47:06 AM
I am not going to go into it at length here.

This is not pretty much a lengthy one huh.  Grin

1. No, my response in regards to that specific point is about empowering ordinary people to be able to spot scams through education. Nothing more, nothing less.

Even if that's the case, again education is not enough. We NEED deeper than education, that is consciousness - psychological approach. They have to realize whether if they're being deceived at that moment. Performing sales talks, even con arts.

2. Nowhere did I indicate that people with special abilities and skills won't do the tracing and tracking down (or that it will be done by ordinary people).

Ok. Why not just give support or suggest this to existing organizations that are by the way have the reputation and the people to get the job done.

3. Yes, international law is a relative term and cooperation with agencies such as Interpol can not be excluded, but efforts to ensure justice is served will not be limited or stand on their efforts alone. The idea with the proposed organization is to create a private organization that is supported by membership contributions, but actual field work - beyond the work needed to educate the public at large - will be done by setting up special task force units that have the expertise required to trace and track-down scammers on a global basis. They could be seen as private investigators operating in a highly specialized area. And yes, the approach from country to country will most likely differ, but make no mistake - there are many ways to skin a cat, just as scammers are using many ways to defraud and steal.

By ensuring justice you mean all of them, right? Well, I must admit your idea is not impossible to do and quite impressive (I mean that in a good way).
But I'm sure that one group belonged to a much larger group of people. An organization, a syndicate of some sort.

There are many things to really have to consider here. And to the fact that this is a private organization, for sure the government will not just sit still and approve of this instantly, they will be intrigue and to the point that this is in the global scale, not to mention that there are already agencies like this.

These special task force units will be questioned. This is also a political matter, what if they will consider you as a threat and not a help.

I think you will be surprised how many people with the skills required would be willing to help out, including white hat hackers.

I'm not surprise. I know, there are people that are willing to help. But you have to consider the boundaries.

What are you saying? Just because they're into the money, they should not be brought to justice? I think not.

Believe me, deception is a powerful skill. And they are bringing them to justice by those existing agencies or organization regarding the same matter. But its sad to tell that even white hat hackers are also considered to be brought to justice (not all of them, there are some cases).
30  Other / Meta / Re: 3 Merit Stat After a Month of Merit on: February 28, 2018, 08:08:15 AM
I'm not sure where you'd get all these raw data but if this is accurate as of 135, 369 members of the forum after a month.

Then, this is very helpful. As many participants also can check the stats of the Merit System and its effectiveness so far.

Now, to those people that are complaining that the System is not moving - there you have it.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Merit gone wild! on: February 28, 2018, 07:47:17 AM
This has been mentioned to happen if you refresh the merit sending page.
Then they should fix this issue. Its irreversible and sMerits are very significant.

I may not be the only one who've experienced the same case.
32  Other / Meta / Merit gone wild! on: February 28, 2018, 07:37:18 AM
This was suppose to be just 2 sMerits, but for some reasons unknown this happened.

Is this some kind of bug? Considering that I've accidentally sent another 2 x 2 sMerits, knowing that this is irreversible.

EDIT: You can check it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=964525
33  Other / Serious discussion / Re: To all scammers on: February 28, 2018, 07:24:09 AM
I can't help to wonder how many of them are bankster/state sponsored actors - people who are getting paid to bring disrepute to cryptos.

We need to set up an international non-profit organization that can be used to actively:

1. Educate people on how to spot and avoid becoming victims of scams,

2. trace and track down perpetrators

3. and make sure that justice is served!
I don't know about you mate, but you're being naive right now.

These kinds of people are just into the money, they don't care about anything else as long as their satisfactions are sustained.

International non-profit organization, nice name, but who would bother do that. Besides, if we say international, we also have to consider the consent of other countries and to be honest that's a very low chance. And so you think that they will give it a shot somehow, it would take a lot of time.

1. Its like training a hacker here or an investigator. I wonder who would be interested in that, considering that countries already take measures in those cases.

2. Again, people won't be as good as those people that are specialized to do this. Besides, it would take a lot of time. You're not going to find them that easy.

3. Talk about international laws, if we have one. It depends on the country to where they belonged to. If they committed a crime (which is scamming people), the authorities who have the power to arrest people whatever country they are in. Some agencies like, Interpol or FBI, they are specialized in these kinds of stuffs.
34  Other / Meta / Re: It's time to let go the altcoin section and all the headache it brings on: February 27, 2018, 04:16:14 PM
The merit idea is stupid. The red trust marking are even more stupid. Some of the old timers cannot accept the new realities of crypto in general. For them, Bitcoin is the one true coin, one coin to rule them all. There are a lot of different tribes that exists in Bitcointalk. And it's really surprising that there is still no major drama happening. However I could see that it will be a tipping point which will bring the whole forum into chaos.

All the conflict does is aggravate everyone.

May I suggest that Theymos cut off the entire Altcoin section, and just move them off to another domain like maybe "Altcointalk.org." Ranks and usernames will be maintained in the new site.

This way, Bitcointalk will be about Bitcoin again and no more shitposting/spamming for campaigns. They can all shitpost in the new forum.

The truth is, you can just ignore it. You don't even have to list it on your 'Ignore Board'.

If you don't like it there then just don't go there, simple as that.

No need to protest.

Since there's a lot of altcoins, it is obviously going to be crowded.
35  Other / Meta / Re: Merit rewards for Signature Campaigns! on: February 23, 2018, 04:58:40 AM
Money, always at the center of every fucking problems on earth.

If it wasn't for bounty, every single user would be happy with this system, which might help this forum getting cleaner. And of course, if this wasn't about greed, this system wouldn't be needed in the first place.

Imo, I would even go farther, and distribute signature bounty according to merit instead of quantity. Let's say that instead of 15 posts a week, you must now get 4 merits per week to get your reward:
- You would divide by 2 instantly the number of (shit)posts on the whole forum. Cleaner, but also easier to moderate as well.
- Signatures, paradoxically, would be much more visible. Let me explain: When you have a topic with 100 pages of shitposts, you don't read it, so you don't see any signature ! So 15 or 30 posts doesn't really matter, it is just pointless if no one reads it. Now if you only have 2 pages of quality posts, you would read them before writing your reply, so you would see everyone signature. Plus, you could see if what you're about to say have been said already, which would reduce even more the number of post.

Cleaner forum, with ONLY quality, and signature more visible. Win-win (lose for spammers).

Money is everything practically speaking, but that doesn't mean we're greedy - like you've said.

Everything you've said was by far the most commendable thing in this thread. Yes, we're talking about the sections in the Economics, Bitcoin Discussion, Gambling, etc. where most of the threads have 50~100 pages at least.

You should've created a thread about this. This would make an audience to everyone for sure. This would optimize the system if granted.

What a dreadful idea. I was tempted to put everyone who supports this idea on my ignore list. Campaign managers should have no rights to give merit or sMerit in my opinion.

Mate, its a shame you're not that familiar with the current system. Dreadful you say? Well back at you mate, because you're being narrow minded and naive. The higher ups granted everyone the sMerits and wanted to monitor if they're really going to use it as what they would've hoped. But, as I can now, most of them are just wasting they're sMerits to those people that are not even worthy of having some. There's no sense of accomplishment here. As they will only feed those that are familiar to them and not extend to those people that are more capable of having quality posts, as the Admins intends to.

Of course, I'm not saying that it will be their obligation, but, it doesn't hurt if, whenever these managers reviews the posts of his/her participants, he/she would also come across with people who have quality in their posts. I might say it is a reward but its more like an incentive. A competition inside the Signature Campaign I par say.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: February 01, 2018, 06:11:40 PM
Bitcoin is only money because people want it to be as dollar is only fiat because people want it to be, money is trust.

Both fiat and cryptos are money, as stated, obviously both of them are currencies. Their differences are on much a deeper explanation or rather on another topic. They are not what they are just because people wanted it the way it should be. But instead, it was created the way how its going to be used.

It is a sort of money not the actual money because you cannot claim it when it is lost. It is only the virtual aspect of money.

Its a digital currency. Well obviously because its decentralized. What do you mean by the virtual aspect of money? Its still money, just another version of it.

I know it bitcoin is a virtual money.it can change our houl life.but do not hard work day by day everybody.bitcoin is converted to money.so bitcoin is currency of good invest money.

What is this crap? Good thing that they've implemented the Merit System. Now we can distinguish people and to identify who're really deserving to rank up.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: February 01, 2018, 05:58:43 PM
There is a risk that it could be used to fund crime or illicit terrorist activity — another reason is that it can be a route to circumvent capital controls .  ICOs were a threat to the financial markets’ stability. that is reason which some country ban bitcoin

Well, in the past it has been used in the deep web, as its currency. Not to mention all of it is illegal. But since the currency that day is not as significant as now, we may have done the same. About the terrorists? I highly doubt that. True, because of the cryptos being volatile and decentralized, countries might either ban it or adapt it (most of those countries banned it).

There are some countries that currently do not accept bitcoins. Perhaps the reason is that using bitcoin is too risky because of frequent fluctuations, bitcoin is also feared will be abused by residents of the country. But I think it's too naive to resist bitcoin, because in my opinion bitcoin brings more profit than loss.

The reason behind this frequent fluctuations is because of its volatility, as we know all the cryptos have this characteristic. We might think that this is a disadvantage but no, its the opposite, especially for Bitcoin.

We discussed this issue in different topics the summery is that some countries are not able to support crypto, there economic is not ready for this.

Its not that they're not ready for this, just because of the economic state, its because the country wouldn't be able to gain profit from this as it is a decentralized currency after all.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: February 01, 2018, 05:14:26 PM
Yeah, bitcoin is the future of money. I believe we can see many other crytpto currencies emerging in future and also we can expect new people using bitcoin. Yes, those writers are paid to make bitcoin look like a failed piece of technology. They are financed and supported by people who are against innovation and even by banks who stands to gain if bitcoin is eliminated.

Same here mate, it will be some time soon. We don't know what the future holds but, we know that Bitcoin can reach that. Those are just propaganda in order for people to not trust the Cryptos, well no one have ever trusted it, until now. Its not that they're against the innovation its just that they have to gain in this platform, so they will be forced to act accordingly.

We need to believe that bitcoin would be a future money, bitcoin created to help more people who really need cash and also to have an additional investment for those people who are risk taker.

Bitcoin doesn't really help other people, its you who makes the improvement onto yourself. Its your decision that makes you the way you are now. But we still need cash, as we don't reach that far enough.

IT works well and we all already have been using it for years. It is decentralized and that benefits us all. It is the future of currency as it is a better newer technology. In with the new out with the old. It is simple evolution.

Its not evolution, its innovation, there's a difference. Well it depends on how you will use it for you to be able to have benefits on it. It doesn't mean that its new, your just going to not care about the other stuffs that have been left behind.
