As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.
Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?
i don't invest only in the top ranked of coins then a coins with active development on the project is the big sign if the project will stay,, my friend also a good support from the community is needed,, |

well it could be fall down to $15 if bitcoin is dumping again you know all altcoins rely to the price of bitcoin, hopefully the market will not fall down again this month.
Yes, there's high possibility for DASH to dump in price before the end of this year because the crypto market is yet to reach the bottom price but DASH will definitely not dump to the $15 price range even when bitcoin dump again because DASH is among one of the most used altcoin around the world. but i can't believe if dash price will down to $15,, dash is the best masternode cryptocurrencies with strong community, in my predictions if this market continues down,, dash will hit about 35$ - 40$ as the bottom |

Definitely, it will happen soon day. We all are looking when it happens. But unfortunately, I don't think it will rise up rapidly because this time is very bad to all coins. Especially the BTC price is in down. So, at this time we can't be having a hope about any token. But, I believe, within 1 year the ETH will rise up to between 1000$ - 1500$.
hopefully ethereum price will be rising soon, wich mean less than 1 year to cross the past highest price of eth.. maybe in Q1 or Q2 next year my friend |

Gaining 16% in a weekend to lose another 50% in a week.  EOS was $22 end of april now it's $2. If you didn't sell then and are happy with 16% gain this weekend you are crazy. And i'm sure it will go under $1. gaining about 16% is good profit for day traders my friend, but, not for holders,,, personally i don't believe if eos price will go under $1, the price of eos will stay above $1 |

Always come with a Plan in front of Bears !
First thing is Bitcoin and when bears go wild You have to Trust more and more the power of King , BTC . So I am 40% on my Portfolio with Bitcoin since even we break 5.8k or bulls coming straight from here , Alts will bleed heavily.
Then the USD or USDT factor. Believe me in a bear market if You do not have at least 20% of USD or USDT you will be in trouble. I always prefer 40% of USD . USDT is also a good option if You living in an area of the world where buying BTC from Fiat is difficult and also having USDT makes it easy to go through quick trades when needed.
I always have 5% of Ethereum in my Portfolio (don't be panic Ethereum is here to stay and it will be revolution but it need more time)
I'm also having a 5% of long hodl well researched and selected inside Top 200 Alts. at the end of this bear market weak and useless Alts will die , so be extremely careful with Your long hodling Alts.
Another 5% of my Portfolio goes with Midterm Alts Trading based on news . It is not complicated select Alts at the bottom in sats and buy if there is any rumor and sell the news.
Final 5% of my portfolio reserved for Leverage Trading. But I'm not going for scalping. mid term margin trading can make You rich if you able to caught Alts or Bitcoin from the bottom and jump in for a great bull run. This is high risk Trading but can have greater ROE even when prices are falling.

For me, i don't support the ideology that ICOs are killing Bitcoin. Remember, through ICOs most people has got to know about cryptocurrency. Through the awareness creation made by ICOs, the entire crypto space has gone global. ICOs added a new sense of value to the crypto market.
ICO project is a free promotions for bitcoin,, and eth if the project using eth platform because usually a new project will mentioned bitcoin, ethereum and others crypto as the payment methode, so, i don't agree if somebody talk if ICOs are killing bitcoin |

unfortunately in my opinion the situation is uncertain and certainly there are great opportunities but also big risks in investing now, obviously i do not abandon the world of crypto let's say that i take a break from investing until the market will be stable again
thats right,, a big profit always come together with a big risk too,, but, if we can catch the right cryptocurrencies in this market conditions i believe soon or later when the market up we will get a good profit on our investments |

I've been thinking about starting to learn how to read charts and do some technical analysis for myself. The problem is I see it ridiculed on pretty much every forum and people saying it's useless for crypto.
What are your thoughts? Worthwhile?
It is very useful for crypto. especially in margin trading. You need to have a good knowledge of technical analysis to predict its price will increase or decrease in a short period of time. In a cryptocurrency, by and large, technical analysis does not work. Here, the volumes of real trading are not so large that there is genuine technical analysis. technical analysis is to predict the markets with some kind of tools such as indicators and the purpose we use a technical analysis is to predict the market with all the probability my friend,, so, we can set a stop loss level and profit taking level by using a technical analysis for me its work in crypto |

Mr. Tom Lee, the Crypto currency expert who has had accurate predictions about Bitcoin and Altcoin, said that Bitcoin still has the potential to rise by the end of this year, which is around 15k USD, is that true because I haven't seen a good improvement in crypto currency

Now Bitcoin is at 5100 level, Eth is at 150 level, Crypto Market Cap is around 170 Bil. USD, I know it's frustrating, but if you will look for the charts of the last bull runs, you will find that bull run comes after this period of FUD and Capitulation.
Prices may drop more than these red levels, may stay at these levels, but will never stay like that, it's not a wishthinking, but it's reality, But if you believe in crypto, you know that good news are coming, Bakket, ETF... etc.
Crypto is not a Bubble, nor a ponzi scheme, it's the future guys. Just Hodl and be patient.
