I think is because of fork of bitcoin, because some investors will like to sell their altcoin to invest in bitcoin to gain the fork coin. But i think after the fork the altcoin will pump massively.
I think a lot of people put money in after the latest fork. I still think we will see the biggest pump after the second fork. |

What a scam this is , i hope no one is stupid enough to fall for it. If you really wanted to set up a project why not make a topic in the announcement section like every other project. You can make a website , roadmap , whitepaper. |

The best thing to do is to starve them out by spending time to research and not letting FOMO drive irrational behavior. Looking at ETH going from pennies to over $300 in a blink of an eye drives a lot of that irrational behavior... but it's also part of the reason why we're here. We have to realize that opportunities aren't lost in a matter of seconds, days, or even weeks... so take the time to research the devs, and the project.
All that said... to more explicitly answer your question. Nothing. Nothing is going to stop the scammers and hackers as they'll always find a way. But it's not like this is unique to crypto. Anyone remember the Nigerian Prince email scams?
You are right as long as people are stupid enough to be tricked by these scams it won't stop. The problem isn't in the security of your wallet it is that people keep falling for this. The Nigerian prince is a great example , they don't send these e-mails out for fun it actually works. |

People were scamming with ico's then also. There are still good projects to put money in you just gotta do some good research.

Smart to move it of the exchange . Just put it on a desktop wallet.
Make sure you save your private key's and you are good to go.

Everybody here will just say the coin they are invested in .
Your best bet is to do research and make sure you understand the tech.
Then you can make your own decisions in the future.

most of the action happens on poloniex yet I've been waiting months to get my withdrawals above 2000 per day.
there must be people on there with thousands of btc.
how are they getting it off? special deals? they don't plan to leave?
unless they do something then it'll take a couple of years to get their profits out.
same goes for many other alt exchanges now. that would annoy me.
Just a hunch, it may also be possible that some of these exchanges are actually owned by these whales. Now if this were the case, they could easily manipulate any of their transactions for their advantage. But like I’ve said, just a hunch...  Could be but i think there are more whales then exchanges. I think they just use it to manipulate the market and get more coins. |

Yes i think you are right. Most people sold their altcoins to have bitcoin for the fork.

Well i think it will go up once all the btc fork news clears up.
Right now not many people are focused on eth i think.

Not true that everybody (which is holding altcoins) is losing money. Everybody is losing the gain they would make if they owned Bitcoins instead. Many coins are more or less keeping their value in dollars, they are just dropping versus Bitcoin.
You are right people don't check the dollar price in comparison to what is was earlier . You still lost money but is isn't like altcoins are dying. |
