MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:

APR Coin will have a 100% P2P Decentralized Exchange (DEX) launching in Q4 2018!

The DEX will be available in both web and desktop application forms. All coins and listings on the platform will be paired with APR, while all fees and listing fees will be paid in APR as well. To further the sense of community surrounding the coin,  and its use as a currency, funds and trades on the DEX will be controlled by users of the platform themselves and not some centralized team, corporation or institution. This is, by definition, what a decentralized exchange is meant to be.

It is a very proud moment for APR as a currency, as it was a member of the APR community who brought a detailed proposal for this use case to the core team. Someone among us all put in the work to have a full fledged proposal created and the core team, upon further review, put their full efforts and support behind it becoming a reality.

This is the first 100% community influenced use case implementation, and the core team could not be more enthusiastic at the progress of its development. More details regarding the platform will follow as progress is made, as we near the launch date of Q4 2018.

In the Dashboard you will be able to see your Balance, Received and Sent Transactions
and also your Share Percentage of the Bitfineon Share Pool.

On June 30th new colx parameters will kick in.  Rewards to stakers and MN holders will increase approx 20% with the block reward going from 1000 colx per block to 1200 colx per block.

Wallets that have not updated by this time will be removed from the network.

Apollon masternodes on the GIN Platform created after the 2.0 release have been updated to the latest version of the wallet (2.0.1), released yesterday. Masternode start is required from the updated wallet.

Note that MNs created prior to 18 June still need to be removed and re-created as they are on a different Apollon chain.

Further to our updates yesterday we would like to bring you all up to speed on the latest position regarding the coinswap and the steps we are taking to protect the long-term coinholder value.

Now that the chain appears to be reasonably stable we have decided to release the new wallet to the exchanges.

The exchanges now have the new wallets and are progressing their updates.

We have asked each exchange to provide a timescale to update the wallets but please bear in mind that this can take up to seven days to complete – of course we will be working with them to improve on timescales wherever possible.

Once each exchange has completed their updates we will agree a date with them for opening withdrawals ONLY. This is to ensure those bad actors holding exploited coins cannot send them to the exchange and sell them on.

As a final update we would like to assure you all that we are making good progress on the new wallets and we hope to be in a position soon to give more information regarding the coinswap steps and estimated timescales.

Kalkulus is now live on the GIN Platform!

Quick developer update: we're really close to properly supporting long chains, this means the sync phase for a new MN will not last for 3 days for PivX for example. This is a key feature and a significant internals update to the platform which also enables us to support other masternode coins that you all like, ZEN for example. We will resume our work on Tier 1 coins after this feature is rolled out this week.

Also the MN setup for the rest of coins will take much less because of the fast way all chains will sync after the new functionality is launched.

Another important update regarding our internal process is that we have simplified and built tools for a more streamlined way of deploying new coins, so we will now be able to deliver more in a shorter timespan.

TL;DR for everything that happend to our blockchain over the past few days:
- Mandatory wallet update 1.0.5 to fix exploits at Block 155,000 that resulted in a hard fork
- Chain stuck due to retargeting issues
- Identified further exploits that are still being abused
- Decision to do a coin swap with a completely new wallet on a properly secured and tested codebase
- Mandatory wallet update to 1.0.6 which will result in a hard fork at block 157,000 that will be used until the coinswap is processed

As you are all now aware we are forking to a new chain at block 157k. At the time of writing we are at block 156978 so the fork is coming soon.

I would like to bring your attention to the reduction in rewards once we hit block 157k. We announced this yesterday but feel it is worth mentioning again.

Once we hit 157k the block rewards will reduce to 1 per block. We have taken this step to prevent the bad actors on our chain from benefitting any further as we move towards the swap.

We are working on a plan to mitigate this impact to our genuine coin holders and we are expecting to provide further details in the coming days.

Once the fork is complete and we are sure the chain is stable we will work with the exchanges to update their wallets and open withdrawals. Unfortunately we cannot provide an accurate timescale for when this will be completed as the exchanges will process our requests as soon as they are able depending upon their workload – we will endeavour to keep you all updated however as this progresses.

As always all of our efforts are to benefit the community and to protect the long-term coinholder value and it is for this reason that we are taking these actions

From Monday's meeting:
We broke down the service to its roots, and outlined an MVP for proceeding in that direction. The starting point that we see now is one type of coin goes in, another type of coin comes out. The swapping service. A user specifies the coin that they hold, the amount that they want to send, the output coin and destination address. A quote is given by the curve.to website if volume is available, and the user is provided with a send to address. Once curve receives that transaction and it is confirmed, the swap will occur and the output coin will be sent to the destination address. The only part this leaves out for now is the 'last mile' type of transfer, which would be a fiat output. But if we can get this structure into place as a coin swapping service which is very easy to use, we can add in the fiat output a little bit later. On another note, we would use 100% of profits from the Curve.to service, for the foreseeable future, to buy CURV at market price to boost the coin.

What we came up with is a "3 point curve", with an input, output, and Curve as the midpoint. We picture this as an arc, like throwing a boomerang, with one coin being thrown and a different coin coming back.

While writing the white paper, we researched several exchange APIs, with one of the main ones being BitShares. During this research, we realized that exchange fees are going to be problematic with our originally envisioned process, and are formulating a more complex approach to reduce cost for the end user. As such, we will need a bit more time to flesh out this concept and put the details into the white paper.

Marv is traveling tomorrow, returning mid Sunday, and we will be immediately getting to work plugging these new details into the white paper for release on Monday morning. We debated between releasing the current draft and waiting for the fixed version, and Marv argued that if there needs to be a slight delay in order to convey the correct vision, that is our wisest choice. We didn't want to leave the community empty-handed, though, and wanted to share this new development goal with all of you, so that there is an understanding that an MVP has been decided on, which we feel is definitely achievable in the time line originally given.

We will continue to post new updates as they happen, and are committed to delivering the fixed white paper Monday morning.

We are mindful that some questions asked by our community may be missed by the team whilst we are busy and focussed on fixing the issues and preparing for the upcoming coinswap.
