201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 26, 2022, 04:31:41 PM
You're a professional like a lawyer or a teacher in a respected university, will it harm your reputation if people around you or your students discover that you are into gambling, you're not really a compulsive gambler but gamble for entertainment, how will you explain this to people around you or will you explain to protect your reputation or just ignore them.

Even if I'm an compulsive gambler, it won't hurt my reputation. After all, when we talk about the reputation of a lawyer or a teacher, we mean professional qualities, right? If a person is good in one area of professional activity, but has problems in a completely different area, this should not concern us. Of course, if these areas of activity do not intersect, since a psychologist who has a gambling (or other) addiction, of course, will be under suspicion of incompetence.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: September 25, 2022, 09:34:17 PM
It seems to me that the casino is far from being an ideal place for money laundering. If this is an illegal casino, then the money that the player "laundered" there actually remains dirty. If this is a legal casino, then in accordance with the AML procedures and the applied KYC, the player's transaction history remains open to the tax office and the police, so it makes no sense for him to use such a legal casino. Maybe it works for small amounts that no one pays attention to, but with large amounts of money it is definitely not an option.

I don't think so, casino is ideal for money laundering, there are legal Casinos that were charged of being accomplished of money laundering.  You can check @serjent05's reply giving an example of casino that was charged with money laundering.  I also think it is the best place besides exchanges to wash the history of cryptocurrency.

I looked at his examples, but why do you consider them good cases if in the end those who laundered the money were caught? And as for his examples regarding the fact that the casino is defrauding petty money launderers ... is that also good? It seems to me that all this suggests that the casino is a very dangerous place for money laundering. And tell me, which position looks better "I have a lot of money because I win it at the casino" or "I have a lot of money because I'm in business" or even "I have a lot of money because I'm a popular streamer"? I think the casino option looks the worst.

Wait what, Denmark 2 - France 0?
What the hell is happening here?

Is France playing with good players or random players?

Not a good sign, World cup is only 2 months away.

It turns out that Croatia, having defeated Austria (I think by the time I finish writing the message the game is over and now Croatia is leading 3-1), saved France from relegation to League B. I don't know if you can call it a disgrace, but such terrible results with such great players are bewildering. If the players don't want to play, then why does the coach call them to this tournament? If they can't play, then I have a question for the coach - after all, they play well in their clubs. I think the fans are already furious with such results.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 25, 2022, 08:36:43 PM
But I think there is definitely some part of Nagelsmann's fault in the current results. Last year, Manchester City, playing without a clearly defined center forward, won the Premier League. With the departure of Lewandowski, Bayern found themselves in a similar situation and, judging by the results, the head coach has not yet been able to adapt the team to new realities. Bayern have a great line-up, they just need to find an effective system of play.

Lewandowski has been with Bayern Munich for a long time. So Nagelsmann is yet to stabilize the team due to his sudden departure. But it is certainly Nagelsmann's fault that he did not produce a worthy replacement for Lewandowski. If he had found a suitable replacement for Lewandowski, Bayern Munich's performance would not have been so unstable.
Sadio Mane will never be a worthy replacement for Lewandowski. Nagelsmann should now look for an experienced striker who can score goals regularly. Munich has a fantastic squad. But they lack experienced finishers.

But wouldn't it be a mistake to look for a center forward again and make the whole game dependent on him? Real don't depend on Benzema, even PSG don't depend on Mbappe and Manchester City were just as good without Haaland. It seems to me that building a game around one player (and even such a rare one as Lewandowski) is a mistake - any injury breaks all your plans. We need a more universal scheme of the game where, when the attacker is replaced, the performance does not change or changes slightly. Nagelsmann's task is to find such a scheme.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 25, 2022, 08:29:19 PM
This should have happened a while ago. Many influencers had already started streaming gambling content on Twitch long time ago.
It was a matter of time before gambling streams got banned on this platform and now that it has happened many people will be saved from these influencers.
So far only a few games in a few gambling platforms are banned but as time goes we might see more games and more sites being added to the list.

I don't understand what's the problem with not watching what you don't like? These modern trends to ban everything are just awful. I remember the times when twitch streaming was fun and you could hear funny jokes on any topic. Now this is all banned and if the streamer did not have time to say "I condemn" in time, he can be banned even for a joke in the chat that has nothing to do with him. We are getting closer to a dystopia, and as I see it, you rejoice in this? Terrible.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 25, 2022, 08:17:00 PM
The fact that it is not illegal or against any laws does not mean that you can get away with card counting in a casino. It really depends on the casino. But, most online casinos are independent from real world casinos, so they could give 2 shits less about card counting. I do not think that any online casino will ban you for strictly card counting, but it is better to keep it to yourself. Last but not least, always remember to read the fine print, no matter which casino you are playing at. Any casino worth its salt will list in depth rules on what is and isn't allowed and the penalties that accompany any action breaking these rules.

Even if there is a clause in the Casino ToS that card counting is prohibited, I would like to know how this can be determined? No one sits with a pen and an abacus and does not keep their calculations openly - usually this is done in the mind. I don't know how lucky you have to be in order for the casino to suspect you that you are not just lucky, but win due to some kind of numeracy. It seems to me that if the casino suspects you of this, it will not kick you out, but rather offer you a lot of money to get advice in the field of security. Modern gambling provides reliable protection from those who can count cards, so the one who can bypass it will be recognized as a genius.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: September 25, 2022, 08:08:48 PM
It will be a while before the final is, but what do you think who is finally the favorite for the title? We do see that the choice of bookmakers has also changed considerably. Before the season they gave PSG little chance (I thought I saw odds of 10.0). But now they have suddenly become top favorites. Along with Manchester City, of course. Last season they were quite close but they had a lot of bad luck against Real Madrid. There is a pretty good chance that either City or PSG will win the title this year. Bayern looks too vulnerable and did not make a strong impression against Barcelona either. And what about Barcelona? Maybe an outsider with this young team?

If I'm not mistaken, Manchester City and PSG are the main favorites for the title for the past few years, but the bet on them still does not work. Maybe their time has come? In fact, no one knows and I would be glad if in the final we saw not a company familiar to everyone, but at least one new club (although in this case everyone would say that one obviously weak team would play in the final, so it would not be interesting).
If we talk about Barcelona, then first they need to get out of the group, which is the most difficult of all groups.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 24, 2022, 05:57:30 PM
I think this is a dubious alternative to reality. I can watch cartoons or be in AR/VR at any time, but this is not a substitute for reality. A picture or a pretty video of food is no substitute for a real dinner, and a picture of a girl is no substitute for a girl (I think you know what I mean) haha. When technology reaches the level to make a subtle replacement for these things, then all this will become relevant, but not before.

I get your point, but the technology is already there for us to have a glimpse of some place we haven't been to before and be 'in' there virtually. Actual physical experience will always top AR/VR experience, but for those who don't have the luxury and time to actually go to some place, this can somewhat be a good substitute. Rich people that don't have much time to visit a casino can opt to use a VR casino if they want to. The experience would be entirely different, but at the least it fulfill his/her gambling itch somewhat.

You are right about the visual experience, it can be at least some kind of substitute for the actual physical presence. But if we talk about the casino, what is the point of using these technologies if the main goal of a gambler is to enjoy the game itself and not its visualization? Visiting a real casino is also associated with demonstrating one's status, but this cannot be done using VR technologies, which means that there is only one goal - gambling. And gambling is perfectly accessible without these unnecessary complications.
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: September 24, 2022, 05:49:04 PM
When you talk about dominance do you mean results? In this case, the format change will not prevent European teams from dominating further - the closer the playoff stage is to the final, the less random teams there will be and I think that the composition of the pairs will not differ from previous world championships. By the way, in connection with the future expansion, the UEFA zone will also receive additional places, which means that in the final part there will be even more very strong teams from Europe claiming the title (such as Italy, which has missed the tournament for the second time in a row).

No. When I talk about dominance, I am talking about representation. In the current world cup, 13 out of the 32 teams are from the UEFA confederation (more than 40%). For the 2026 world cup, it will be 16 teams out of 48 (33% representation). In terms of performance, none of the UEFA teams can come close to CONMEBOL. Latin American teams such as Brazil and Argentina have dominated the international football scene for many decades now. But CONMEBOL has only 4.5 slots in the 2022 world cup. So they are lagging behind in terms of representation.

You must be joking? In Europe, there are usually at least 5-6 teams that play better or at the level of Brazil and Argentina and probably 15-20 teams that play better than all other teams from CONMEBOL. A wider representation of other regions will not change the fact that the European teams are stronger and the closer the tournament stage is to the final, the more European teams there will be.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 24, 2022, 05:44:44 PM
It's too early to say that Mane's move was a mistake. Firstly, I see that many analysts have complaints about Nagelsman, and this is logical - if a team plays according to a scheme that does not correspond to the current line-up, then this is not the fault of the players in not the best results.
Its not always the fault of the coach when the players dosnt bring the performance on the field , mostly and in case of Bayern Munich i guess its lot of games they have now.
And also maybe the rotation in the team , the defenders also dont playing every game together and so comes some problems when they get under pressure.
Lets look what the German players doing today against Hungary.

211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 24, 2022, 04:57:41 PM
This ban was long coming, if the streamers presented gambling in a responsible manner and they were honest about what you could expect out of gambling then I do not think they would have done something like this.

But this is not what happened, streamers began abusing their position and those watching them enabled them, so Twitch has decided to finally take action against them, and while this is a step on the wrong direction when it comes to the popularity of cryptocurrency casinos, I think they did not gave Twitch any other choice.

If I remember correctly, there was already a similar scandal regarding sexualized content and Twitch also took action, but little (if anything) has changed since then. The most popular streamers both did streams in pools and continue to do so, as they licked microphones and continue to do so. In addition, in the channel description they have links to their OF profiles or even to porn sites where they earn the main money. Maybe these restrictions regarding gambling are also exaggerated and will not affect anything?
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 24, 2022, 04:49:45 PM
I don't think they can ban you for this. How is they gonna know if you counted cards anyway? That's not even possible. Even if it was, they wouldn't know it so I say you will be fine. Like you said it don't make you always win and you shouldn't count on it too much. If this was making you win automatically this game wouldn't have existed at all because anybody with this ability would clear out the casino.

That's right - the casino doesn't worry about the strategies (including card counting) that the player uses because it secures itself against such players in advance. If we are talking about Black Jack, then a large number of decks are used and shuffling is done until the moment when card counting starts to matter. If we are talking about roulette, then the acceptance of bets ends before the speed of the ball makes it possible to determine which sector it will fall into, etc.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 04:45:03 PM
A friend of mine works in a casino (land-based) and he told me yesterday that there was a client who with a stroke of luck won a good amount, about $8k. He exchanged the chips for cash and went home. After about half an hour, my friend sees him walk back in the door and went on a gambling binge all the night, only to end up losing his winnings and more.

At the end of the session he signed the self-exclusion.

If it weren't for the fact that this person is going through a drama, the story would make you want to laugh.

Has this ever happened to you or do you know of cases like this?

I think that everyone who is familiar with gambling knows such cases. This one is ridiculous only because here between "I'll take the winnings" and "I will continue to play" only half an hour passed and it was an offline casino. I knew one gambler who won a car (there was some kind of promotion in the offline casino and he turned out to be lucky) - he did not sell it (he already had his own car) and explained this by saying that if he sells it, he will lose in the casino all the money.

I am sure that many online casinos are laundering dirty money and some are even set up to legalise profits. It seems to me that verification and KYC will not save a gambler in case of legal problems if the casino was laundering money and the gambler is under suspicion. In that case the personal data would immediately be given to the police. By the way, along with money laundering, casinos can also collect personal data.

It seems to me that the casino is far from being an ideal place for money laundering. If this is an illegal casino, then the money that the player "laundered" there actually remains dirty. 217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much money do you leave in crypto casino? on: September 23, 2022, 04:43:11 PM
I don't doubt about reputation with several crypto casino gambling when leaving money there, but I can't quit when opening crypto casino account without betting or playing some games because have money ability for betting in my account. I withdraw immediately when winning in sport betting or several casino games without leave or hold my fund in crypto casino gambling. All casino have good reputation nowadays and not worry with how much money leaving keep safety when opening account later, but I am not like OP have more patience keep silent his finger when opening account support much money into but not try to bet. Not easy for me leaving money in crypto casino account because I will use all it for betting exactly when get loss I will try bet until with all money leaving loss and become zero.

On the one hand, it's good that you know your weaknesses and have found a way to insure yourself against them, but I find this situation frightening. If I was that prone to impulsive gambling I would try to get rid of gambling completely. After all, now making a deposit in a casino is a matter of a few minutes (if you use cryptocurrency faster than bitcoin), so at some point you may come up with the idea to make an additional deposit after losing and continue playing.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 23, 2022, 04:33:00 PM
After all, no team hopes to drop down in the standings, but I think now we have to look at the reality that even though Tottenham are in third place, Tottenham have not lost yet. Also, they currently have only one goal difference Arsenal 17 goals and Tottenham 18 goals and have conceded the same number of goals conceded with 7 goals conceded, that also means at least their productivity and aggressiveness is at least equal. So even though Arsenal are at the top it doesn't mean Arsenal are the best, I personally think the match might end in a draw but Tottenham have a better chance of winning.

It seems to me that despite the fact that the game will be at the home stadium of Arsenal, Tottenham is the favorite of the upcoming game. Tottenham have already had games with strong teams and they have no defeats. Arsenal had one relatively "big" game against United and lost it. I would bet that Tottenham will either win or draw, but if you take the "historical" patterns, then it's time for Arsenal to fail again and unexpectedly disappoint their fans, so I would rather bet on Arsenal to lose. And I think that the score will not be close, it will be something like 1-3.

China's visualization of how the metaverse should be is great. It can be adopted onto a bunch of things and companies can use it as a basis. Imagine the thought of walking through the alley and being welcomed into the casino even though you're just wearing your pajamas at the comfort of your home? I know it's a gimmick but it's a fun way to do things.

I think this is a dubious alternative to reality. I can watch cartoons or be in AR/VR at any time, but this is not a substitute for reality. 220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: September 23, 2022, 01:43:37 PM
And you need to remember something very important. This is going to be the last world cup in current format. From the next world cup onwards, there will be a total of 48 participants, with increased representation from Africa and Asia. There is going to be much more diversity and we can expect to see countries such as New Zealand taking part in the tournament. So this is going to be the last edition, where the UEFA teams are dominating. We still don't know anything about the tournament structure in 2026, but length of the tournament is a concern.

When you talk about dominance do you mean results? In this case, the format change will not prevent European teams from dominating further - the closer the playoff stage is to the final, the less random teams there will be and I think that the composition of the pairs will not differ from previous world championships.
