I don't have any problem with Qatar being Islamic country. Their country, their rule, I understand that. But if strangers and tourists come to their country for an international event, there should be some leech way here. Because this is a chance to promote your country's tourism industry, not being an arse and flexing your power. Sort of "Yeah my country has a ban on this or that but since you're strangers come from far away, different ideology, religion and such, we'll be lax on you".

There are many countries which have stupid laws but we have to respect them once we are there like in France there is a ban on scarf on women for covering there heads. Between Qatar has relaxed his laws and now viewers who cant survive without alcohol can have beer while watching the game.

This is an international opportunity that places their country on a good edge gor hosting the FIFA world cup and they wouldn't want their internal laws cause some restriction to what they stand to get, if you take a look at the country, you will discover it's fast growing despite it oil boom and cryptocurrency is openly allowed unlike Afghanistan amongs others, this world cup is a tourist adventure on Qatar and this serves open doors to making more money from the event and i trust their security network as well for safety althrough the period.

I am not sure how this will end up. Arabs, especially those in countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia are very intolerant to criticism. We all know what happened to Jamal Khashoggi. If the players are courageous enough to wear these armbands, then the Qatari authorities may get provoked and charge them with criminal lawsuits. Anyway, this is a very important lesson for FIFA. Awarding the hosting rights to Qatar was a big mistake. I hope that they will be more careful in the future regarding this.

I have clarified in one of my previous posts that I don't really care about religion. There are Muslim countries such as Turkey and Morocco, which are quite progressive. My issue is with Arab countries such as Qatar treating their migrant workers like slaves and imposing their regressive culture on others. I would say the same for Christian countries such as Uganda as well. India and US maybe having minor issues related to race and religion. But at least they don't have stone age laws such as the Qataris are having.

According to the present team participation, more teams need to be added from Asia and Africa. Fortunately there is not much of football nation on the Asia continent.
