201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wondering Why When BTC drops, ALts drops! on: January 25, 2018, 09:19:16 AM
Its simple herd mentality and fear.  If you want to believe its some large "whales" who happen to hold lots of altcoins and dump everything at the same time, then i have a bridge to sell you.  Its simply hundred or thousands of people reacting to some trigger and then following everyone elses move to sell, or simply not buy.  Just the same as when everything rises, lots of people buy and few sell so prices rise, even though there's been no real change to the outlook.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bee Token ICO on: January 25, 2018, 08:47:57 AM
I would have got involved, but KYC system broken, was white listed but wouldn't accept my login, no support response in days so missed the boat now.
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: CME contracts expire and the BITCOIN price..? on: January 24, 2018, 02:52:51 PM
iirc in regular futures markets, the expiry tends to see a rise as positions are closed and people buy to cover short positions.  But the BTC instruments are options, settled in cash, so there's no need to trade the asset directly.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The real reason why the crypto market is crashing on: January 24, 2018, 12:18:29 AM
Korea + China = Cancer of cryptos.

That is the only thing that you can explain, and they are really the cancer of all this recent dip, fud, or  whatever you want. I really hope to see this fud finished in a few days from now, but they want to kill it instead of just making a "huge" sell off.

Cancer is very undeserving term.  You overlook that they have created the high prices you enjoy. Take the rough with the smooth.

Shame you didn't tell us about this last Thursday  Wink
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] Good News: South Koreans To Resume Crypto Trading In 7 Days on: January 23, 2018, 12:13:52 PM
I don't think I want my investments to be at the mercy of some dictator making laws in Korea.  Next week it might be a different story from some other country that decides to ban Bitcoin.

Maybe you invest in regulated assets instead?

This is certainly good news and each change like this is usually followed in spirit by other major nations, if they dont already cover the same area.  Next China authorizing mining under license?
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the bitcoin price goes down on: January 23, 2018, 10:47:16 AM
from my point of view I think people are scared and withdrawing as much as they can before btc goes down more

I don't think this is right - if more and more people were withdrawing their coins, the mempool would be full. But the mempool is clearing which means LESS transactions are being made (less people sending coins from their wallets to the exchanges).

That assessment is not necessarily correct.  You can sell up a number of positions on exchange and move a single transaction, while when buying may have made numerous smaller transactions over time.  Also people moving away from Bitcoin to ETH/LTC/BCH for moving funds between exchange and on/off ramps. All the mempool tells us is Bitcoin is being used less.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which country is the best one for setting up mining farms? on: January 23, 2018, 09:44:33 AM
That's actually.. quite smart.

When I'm thinking of good places to plant a mining farm I've always focused on low temperature countries and countries with low electricity cost. The desert would be the last thing I would've think of. That's an interesting idea, though I don't know how you're going to setup a cooling system for temperatures THAT high.

Shade and fans for airflow.  Operating temperature for a GPU is quite high, you need to put enough cooler air across them to keep them in range.  Even if the air is 40deg C, if you blow enough it'll keep at 60-70deg.  Just need an a lot of fan power.  Maybe its not that simple, but i can see how some clever engineering could make desert mining viable to take advantage of the abundant daytime power... however batteries for sustained overnight running is the bigger issue imo.

209  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 good year or bad year for Cryptocurrency ? on: January 23, 2018, 08:52:55 AM
I'm apprehensive.  Take a look at a all time chart for the Nasdaq, look at 2000, and if you dont see the parallels with Bitcoin price then good luck to you.  Sustained drop below 10k signals a fall to ~8k if not all the way through to ~6k, theres.  Some individual crypto will do OK, hold major crypto for the long (as in proper long, not crypto long) term, but now probably isn't a time to invest new cash.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Source for incoming ICOs? on: January 22, 2018, 08:54:29 PM
Icobench is certainly one of the better for presentation, but they miss a lot stuff (that hasnt paid for review?). Same for Icorating, best presentation imo but headlines with those that pay for reports.  icodrops is good, icoalert is good coverage but a over engineered UI.  And there are others, I've yet to find a comprehensive one that covers all reliably.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON SCAM: TRUTH OR FUD...WHAT'S YOUR TAKE? on: January 22, 2018, 08:46:10 PM
I am TRX holder too, but i believe it's not scam coz it just happen that most of it's supporters are in korean exchanges.
Tron is shit, it is upto you to believe in this project or no. I have been holding some of them, but i dumped them all because i do not even believe in a single word of Justin. It is a mess, it is just an entire project with only 1 developer.

1 Developer? How fucking stupid can you get when hes clearly mentioned a bunch of recruitments already?

Maybe you have a look at the Github repo?  There's one regular contributor and maybe 2-3 others. Very few updates, when i last looked end of last week there hadn't been any for 2 days.  Announcements for team members joining recent dont impress or cover the fact this project went to market with a real team involved.  Justin Sun himself is no developer, graduate in history.  He's a manager and marketeer, maybe a damn fine one, but certainly no CS engineer.

Oh yes, and that Ripple connection, a Chief Representative for the same period he was chairman and CEO building Peiwo?  The man must never sleep, like to have a couple projects on the go and will probably get bored of Tron before it delivers.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This fourm knows nothing on: January 22, 2018, 03:49:54 PM
I think you supposedly want to join their bounty campaign but seems you missed them? You are a big Fool!

Wrong answer. Its not about this coin, I could have picked any of a number of recent market entrants, they just happen to be notable today.
Everyday people push their favorite thing as next big thing, yet they repeatedly miss the next big thing. Its just funny.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This fourm knows nothing on: January 22, 2018, 02:05:43 PM
There is a lot of cake in the cake shop and we certainly cant eat it all.  This cake is moist chocolate cake with Belgian chocolate ganache, hidden away while people rave about own brand sponge cake, muffins and some times a lemon drizzle cake. Fine as they are, people in the know should be knowing about the top notch fare, apparently they only know the basic common choices.
214  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia and HITBTC on: January 22, 2018, 01:57:10 PM
Cryptopia close LTC market but they will open another website just for ltc. Its already writed on cryptopia news, https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News

Some quotes from cryptopia news
Cryptopia will be standing up new sister sites such as ltc.cryptopia.co.nz to handle base markets dedicated to LTC on their own trade engine and database to allow them to continue to trade, and allowing cryptopia.co.nz to resume registrations.

And since this discusion about exchanger, it should be on service discussion or exchanges section maybe(?)

Odd, why close two of the largest and oldest markets?  Making a dedicated platform might itself make sense, but transition should be in parallel for a few weeks at least.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi Nakamoto will reveal himself one day ? on: January 22, 2018, 01:30:28 PM
I think they already have, just the community didn't want to believe them so they stepped back into the shadows.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / This fourm knows nothing on: January 22, 2018, 01:21:03 PM
What is SIRIN LABS Token?  I'll tell you what it is, yet another token that does blockchain, p2p and smart phone stuff, that raised $157m,  and just popped into top 100 market.  Never heard of it.  All the "where to invest" "whats the best ICO" for two months and I cant say I've seen a mention of it.  True there are a lot of coins mentioned, but one would expect a big deal like that to be more prominent.

So I conclude, this forum knows nothing.  Grin
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2k£ to invest.. and how? on: January 22, 2018, 01:06:27 PM
Hey, I have £2k to invest in crypto. Any advice please?

I'm struggling to get setup at coinbase as the identity verfication seems to be down every single day I try and use it. Which methods can I use to quickly invest some coin?

Thank you!

Coinbase will verify eventually (unless you are saying you can submit details?).  Also look at CEX.io for depositing.  I'd like to recommend Btistamp, but been waiting on them weeks myself.  You may also consider localbitcoins, though i myself am reluctant to deal £'000 with blokes down the boozer/coffee shop, ymmv.  Look up about using Revolut to deposit via Euro's and more importantly withdraw.  There's an effective blockade against Bitcoin/GBP conversion, which is very odd considering how many operations are in the UK, you're fine if you step through via euro accounts (but tell the bank to avoid account freezes).

Dont invest a lot unless you understand the risk, only put in what you expect to lose.  £50k could be £500k by the end of the year, but it could be £25k by next Tuesday.  That said, buy into ETH or LTC, not bitcoin, to get lower fees and ease entry into high profile ICOs (nearly always ETH tokens).
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risk in National ID submission for ICO KYC? on: January 22, 2018, 12:50:23 PM
I use KYC as a good sanity check.  If they are asking for it they are either in a regulated environment and comply with law (good), or a scam harvesting ids (very bad).  If you do enough research to exclude the second option, you're left with a good story.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Taxing Bitcoins Possible? on: January 22, 2018, 10:55:21 AM
I'm new in the cryptocurrency world but i think it can't be possible to taxing bitcoin because as long the bitcoin is safe in the personal wallet it will still under the radar and can be tracked by goverment or tax authority.

Just the same as holding shares, while they sit there on account/paper certificates, the value can ballon and no tax is collected.  Sell them and tax is due.  Bitcoin is no different.  Governments really aren't as concern about this as people think, because the tax system already covers them.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look how low they have stooped. on: January 22, 2018, 10:51:41 AM
Who is "they".  Government or conspiracy theorists?  Or you going in double, government controlled conspiracy theorists.  Its all a psyops mission man!.

lol, talk about Bitcoin being government created/controlled or from aliens is as old as Bitcoin, its standard for the CT nutters to claim everything is part of the hidden world of agendas by mysterious powers.
