201  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: i have buy Antminer S1 but bitmain sent me a bomb on: July 02, 2014, 07:48:16 AM
It is sad that you had trouble with your S1's, and frustration when you tried to get it repaired.

I have quite a few antminer S1's and have never had the problem that you experienced.  Maybe you should check the voltage of the power supply that you used with the Antminer that 'blew up', it could be outside the specified range.  It is possible that what caused your problem is external to the Antminer, such as the PSU.  Do you use any UPS/Surge protection on the AC inputs to your power supplies?  Do you have issues with unstable mains voltage or lightning?

202  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: GUIDE SETTING UP A SOLAR POWER SYSTEM FOR MINING on: July 02, 2014, 07:39:32 AM
This is an interesting thread, however you may consider a more 'conventional' approach:  Instead of having a system dedicated to mining, why not simply use a standard grid-tie PV system. This offsets or covers your mining electricity cost during sunny hours and allows you to mine using the grid during dark hours.  Standard grid-tie systems are common place, relatively low cost and accepted by neighbors/planning authorities/electricity providers.  These may be eligible for some 'green' subsidies in many countries.  Another factor is the WAF (or SAF=Spouse Approval Factor), where it is easier to convince of the merits of such an investment on wider financial/ethical grounds.
I have a PV system of about 2 KW peak capacity that provides partial offset of my mining electricity costs.  The electricity provider pays very little for energy that I feed into the grid, but charges 'like a raging bull' for the KW/h that they provide, so it makes a lot of sense to use internally all that the sun provides.  This of course doesn't help at night, but I don't need to buy and maintain large battery banks.  If some day I stop Crypto-coin mining, the PV system will still provide a useful function in reducing household electricity costs.

what is the hash rate of slushs pool i cant see it on the web interface

Approx. cluster performance (30 min average):    5138571.027 Ghash/s

So what is up with block 308816?
You are right, https://blockchain.info/block-index/445911 shows that it was solved by Slush, perhaps the Blockchain web site is inaccurate.  You could try raising a ticket on this with Slush Support.

For the last 17 minutes the Account page reports that my miners are not connected, but each miner reports that they are submitting shares to Slush.... the overall pool hash rate seems to be dropping too, looks like something is not right in Slush-land....Sad
Remember that the front end (the account page) is separate from the back end (the server which actually doles out and receives the work), so a temporary hiatus in the front end does not mean you aren't actually earning.  It certainly gives me a dose of the heebie-jeebies, though, and of course you cannot tell (from a short break at least) if a wheel really has fallen off.
I agree about the separation of 'back end' and 'front end', and if the miners are reporting hashes being submitted, it can't go into a 'vacuum'... still gives you that doubtful feeling....

Great that you got it going.
Happy hashing!

Seems to be back to normal now.... just a few minutes later

211  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB : Antminer S1 / RasPi / PSU on: June 29, 2014, 06:55:35 AM
S1 mines 'standalone', you don't need the RPi (assuming that you have access to some sort of PC/laptop) to setup the S1.  The 0.12BTC per S1 seems rather optimistic Smiley
212  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining Problem on: June 28, 2014, 09:32:23 AM
Please provide full details of:  How did you install the driver for the device?  Did you use Zadig and follow all the steps in the Eyeboot video?  What feedback did you get during/after the installation?  Can you see the device in Device Manager (assuming that you use Windows)?
Which mining software are you using?  As Eyeboot does not provide a link to their 'modified' cgminer on their web site, you could try the latest version of 'official' cgminer, which should support your twin-Fury device.
What operating system are you using?
Are you using a powered USB hub?  Which one?  Does it have a power adapter with sufficient current capacity for your miner?
When you run your mining software - get a screen shot of what does it show when it runs.  In particular it is important to see that your miner device is recognized by the the mining software and that your mining pool is 'alive'.
What do you see on your mining software that tells you that mining is not happening?
Is your mining software permitted to get through your firewall/router etc.?
Do you have other USB miners running as well?  Might want to stop them and focus on the twin-fury.

People can't help you if you don't provide sufficient information.

213  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problem with Antminer S1 - Cannot connect to the internet. on: June 28, 2014, 12:12:42 AM
So I have my miner mining away I changed the ip settings and it is still mining on wifi, how do I change this to mine on ethernet so I can use my wifi connection as no other device connects when this miner is running on my wifi? please help thanks in advance.

You should probably start a new thread for your issue, rather than 'piggy-back' on another person's one.
If you can access your S1 through wi-fi, you can go to the network configuration and find out what the WAN setting is, change it for a static IP address in the range supported by your router (for example if your router is at 192.168.2.1 and supports an address range of 192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.50, you should set your WAN to something like 192.168.2.49, ensuring that '49' is not used by any other device on your home network. (If your router supports 'IP reservation', you should assign that IP address to your Antminer S1). Write down the fixed IP address that you set your S1 WAN to, plug a LAN cable connected to your home network into the RJ-45 socket on the S1, reboot your S1 and use the new WAN address to login to the web interface.  Check the mining status (takes a minute or 2 to start mining) to ensure that all is working to your satisfaction.

Hi guys!

Newbie miner here, just got my first miner which is the Antminer S1 (dual blade).

My problem is very basic, I just can't make it get online.

When I connect the miner to my laptop directly, I can configure it no problems and everything works.

However, when I connect it to the router, I can't log into the Antminer config browser "site".

The lights are working and so is the fan (when I connect it to the router)

Help would be very much appreciated as this is doing my head in Smiley

Thanks in advance guys, I'm hoping someone here can give me a hand here.

Have a nice day Smiley

OP, did the advice given to you solve your problem?  Can you provide any additional info on your situation as suggested?

Cheers
215  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: help setting up multiple antminer S1's... on: June 23, 2014, 09:53:47 PM
The idea is that you connect your laptop directly to one Antminer S1 (no router, don't need to change the rest of your network).  That laptop is changed temporarily to a fixed address in the 192.168.1.* area (replace the * with any number in the 1-254 range that does not clash with any S1 intended addresses), Configure the first S1 (if your network is at 192.168.2.*, set the first Antminer to something like 192.168.2.191) after you finish with that one set the second one to another fixed address within your router's range (say 192.168.2.192) etc.  Now you can connect all your ants to your network and change all the other settings (pool parameters) through the network.  (after you are done with the laptop, of course set it back to DHCP).

216  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: June 23, 2014, 07:27:59 AM

With BFGminer it goes dead after about 24 hours.   Cry

I'm doing this on a RPi. How do I install the Zadig part for cgminer or is it not needed?

Here is a how to setup guide for Raspberry Pi:

http://youtu.be/ea6qrQUqvAc

It includes the webUI for communicating with raspberry pi after it has been successfully setup. Hope this helps  Wink

Actually already found that and just got it loaded up.  WORKS GREAT!
Here's the link to the .img
https://www.dropbox.com/s/07axfgdbnw88tf9/RaspberryPi_Rockminer_RBoxV0.3.1.rar

Now if only I could get my U1s working with that webui software too.  Doesn't really matter I'm selling my U1s anyway and getting a second r-box

EDIT:

After its been running for about an hour I'm getting a ton of hardware errors.  Is that something I should be worried about?

Calculating the HW Error % using Error % = HW / ( HW + DiffA + DiffR) * 100 gives just a bit below 3%.  Probably nothing to get too excited about.

Hey guys fairly new to the BTC game... been trying to set up my miners today (8 in total) and for the life of me i cannot get them to get on DHCP as opposed to the static configuration they are at now... not sure what other info i can post other then i went thru pretty much all the tutorials especially the doge one where i was supposed to change the ip address on my laptop to 192.168.1.254 etc... the current ip address i am working with is 192.168.2.x... any help at all is greatly appreciated...

Simple - leave them with fixed IP, there are good reasons why they selected fixed IP.  Simply set each Antminer with a different fixed IP and don't waste your time with DHCP.  Make sure that the fixed IP values that you allocate are within your router's IP range and that there are no other devices in your network that use them.  If your router has a 'pre-allocation table' (many Netgear routers do), then you can also use that to prevent future clashes (such as in case one antminer was off, a new device on the network was given the Antminer's IP, then there is a clash and the antminer fails to mine).
DHCP seems more flexible, but there are downsides - a DHCP lease has finite time, when it expires your connection may suffer, shifting IP addresses are more difficult to monitor (by AntMonitor https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596178.0, or even by the basic web gui).

Any updates on ETA?

Cheers

An order of 30 units has been made for the r-box miners and they will ship to us tomorrow and we will redistribute them the day they arrive. We will then have a few remaining for on hand shipment.

Thanks.  (maybe I'll get tempted to add another one..Smiley

While you wait for Bitmaintech response, please try to reboot your Antminer from the web gui  (log into the web interface, click on the 'System' tab, wait until it fully displays then on the right side click on 'reboot', then click on the (blue underline) reboot link).  Wait for a while until the Antminer reboots, then go to the status screen, be patient, click on the 'status' tab until you start seeing some values.  It may take a few minutes to stabilize.  I found that in some cases such a 'soft reboot' gets rid of a few 'x's, especially if you over-clock.
I tend to agree with allcoinminer's suggestion that your second blade is not running, as your hash rate is about half of the normal, and the 2nd blade is much cooler than the 1st one.

Are you sure that your power connection to the blade is ok?
Did you check that all the screws holding the blade(s) to the heatsink are fully screwed in (not over-tight)?
Are there any missing components?  (some people had capacitors disconnected from the board) - compare the 2 blades.
If you touch the ASICS - do they feel much cooler on one blade than on the other one?

Cheers
