204  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Who is interested in investing in a BTC Exchange? on: June 03, 2011, 06:26:23 AM
If you are in the USA you have to worry about the Patriot Act.

When you are paying out more than $600 USD to a person, and accepting payments from people for something like BitCoin, you will have to worry about the headaches of the Patriot Act requirements.

Just saying don't overlook that headache.

I hate you.

Is that your entry in the caption contest, or do you hate free bitcoins?

207  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: Looking to hire up to 3 full-time programmer for Canadian bitcoin startup. (paid on: June 03, 2011, 03:57:27 AM
Hello,

We would like to hire at least 1 (and up to 3) full time programmer in the Gatineau city of Canada, for a Bitcoin startup. This is a paid position. We require strong c++ skills and socket programming skills. If interested let me know and I will arrange an interview.

Conpensation is to be based on experience and skillset.

Are you paying in CAD or BitCoin?

What's your starting salary range?
208  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ForBitCoin.com, A Mirco Job Marketplace Pre-Launch on: June 03, 2011, 03:56:08 AM
How many shares are people interested in buying @ what BTC price?

Just gauging if it's worth setting it up.

How many shares is it in total?

We were looking for a 10,000 bitcoin investment or 10% of the company, so lets say 10,000 shares @ 1 BTC for 10% ownership of the company.

Would we have anyone interested?

Hey everyone thanks for the votes on the logo roughs - I'm surprised everyone likes number 5!

I like the coin from number 3 mixed with the look of number 4 - we're going for a 'fun' vibe, I find number 5 seems a little too 1998

garyrowe, we're going to be launching the business acting as an escrow between parties to start with, if we see the value in the contract system after launch (if enough demand is there) we may look at that as an alternative.

Hey, can you sell your shares on GLBSE? Please??? I liked the idea so much I want to buy part of your company! Although so far I am not sure if doing that is good idea (someone argue in another topic that investing is stupid with a deflationary currency... but most of my assets right, and I mean total assets, including material and tangible things I own in the non-virtual world, are GLBSE stuff)

Wow thanks for the props!

We're actually too busy with the Startup to learn about selling shares on GLBSE =\ It sounds like a great concept for people who need funds.

We need BTC investors, not USD investors - does GLBSE help with finding BTC investors?

Thanks!

213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Need help with Mt Gox Merchant API Issue on: June 01, 2011, 10:00:02 PM
http://lts.cr/eal

When users click "Send Payment" we get an error.

Clicking the instant payment works.

Does anyone from Mt Gox know how we should fix this?

What about getting data entry job for people to fill and raised money out of and share to contributors as that won't require much computing power. Is a suggestion and people can add to.The main theme I want to present is something like the pool we have on the bitcoin community but this towards some work which can earn some money and share among contributors.

I'm not sure I understand what you're proposing, could you say it another way so a simpleton like me can comprehend =)

Thanks for the input guys, OneFixt originally gave the idea to display only in BTC, wanted to get some input and it sounds like thats a good idea.

That is the reason (I hope) that you've chosen Bitcoin to handle the money side of things. You will need to set up some kind of escrow (ClearCoin being the obvious choice) but you may want to start exploring the possibilities of the Bitcoin contract system.

We have integrated with Mt Gox for bitcoin payment, we only accept payment and give payment in bitcoin.

We will be acting as the escrow between buyers and sellers.

Sorry for the newb question, but what is the bitcoin contract system?
216  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for partners with 10000+ BTC on: June 01, 2011, 09:33:40 PM

Thanks for all the support so far! We're looking for some input.

What should we display job prices in?

Obviously we want to just display in BTC as we are only doing transactions in BTC, but we're afraid the wild swings in the value of BTC will eventually be almost de-motivating for job seekers.

On launch, all jobs will be have a value of roughly $5 USD.

Should it be displayed as:

Just BTC
I will walk you through setting up your first mining rig for 0.4 BTC

A dynamic BTC with dollar value based on Mt Gox prices
I will walk you through setting up your first mining rig for 0.4 BTC (~$5)

thoughts?

What Would You Do For A BitCoin?

I'm excited to announce our first bitcoin project aimed at strengthening the bitcoin economy.

While trading and mining are exciting and profitable ventures (I've lost a lot of sleep in the last 2 weeks  Grin), which are attracting a lot of much needed attention to bitcoin, we need more ecommerce projects.

Our goal is to help stimulate the service based economy with our first project, forbitcoin.com, where users can earn small amounts of BTC through Micro Jobs.

More details later this week, sign up to get notified when we launch (no spam, we respect your privacy).

We look forward to growing and shaping this service around the communities wants & needs, and we really hope that the bitcoin ballers show their support by participating =)

As a pre-launch bonus, The top 10 people who refer the most REAL people to join the pre-launch list will win something nice.  What prizes should we give away?

Brad

P.S. Thanks to bytepimp for the awesome pre-launch page background.
