201  Economy / Goods / Re: Bit Beans Coffee Company Escrow Provided. Free coffee while it lasts! on: October 20, 2014, 08:24:26 PM
I have not heard from him yet.  I imagine that he will show up as soon as he is able.  I am enjoying a cup of his coffee right now, and it is worth the wait.

Thanks, the hash rate went back up to normal, as of early this morning, on the SuchPool Quebecoin mining pool as well.  Megadeth199, an extra 9 hours has been added to your mining period in order to make up for the downtime.

I will remove all cryptobec services in one month.... It's a lot of time and money to manage a site like this for nothing....

I know that the only reason I am still here is because of the work that ghonyme has put into this.  The principle was good, whether or not Quebecoin will be the way to get there is still uncertain.  Assuming interest in this project might resume, you can count on my full support.  But it is understandable that there is a limit to how much longer you can wait.

I got even more than stated and I can't thank you enough for the offer!

It was actually much easier to mine those coins than at any previous time that I had ever tried, because of the lower level of difficulty.  That is up until the today's slowdown with the pools.  I think it is well worth trying to distribute some interesting samples of coin to some new people, so that this story can continue to unfold and evolve.  A look at the top 50 holders tells the story that there hasn't been much activity yet.  For example you will notice that there are only 8 people who have between 20 and 30 thousand coins, 6 people with between 30 and 60 thousand, etc...  A number of the holders are IPO investors who were promised something that couldn't be delivered at the time (April 2014).  There's a total of 2,667,850 QBC that have been mined so far.

The crytobec pool is currently down.  I had to create an account on SuchPool in order to mine.  I do remember this happening once before, Guillaume, however you were able to get restarted.  Right now there is only 11.5 MH of global mining, and I cannot get above 3 MH with a 26 MH miner.

Thanks for the info. Not a lot of volume in this exchange but maybe I will buy some more QBC.

If you post your Quebecoin address here the rewards miner will send some more QBC your way.
206  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: October 19, 2014, 09:50:27 AM
I am on track to break even on next Sunday's payout.  I have 150 GH of contracts purchased between early April and early June.  0.8338 BTC was the total cost, currently I'm at 0.822588 BTC repaid.  I quit buying because PBmining made the statement that they could no longer sell contracts to Canadian customers.  Overall, that's a longer period to break even than some of the "shills" seem to let on.  Those who bought contracts after I did will have to wait even longer to reach so called "ROI".  Yet it is probably a slightly better rate of return than some of the other mining of I have done.

Merci!   Shocked

ShadowBits,

I have set up a special "Québecoin giveaway" miner at the cryptobec mining pool, as a promotional idea.  I have pointed it to your QBC address, and it is currently mining using the X11 Rig #1893 "Sir Lancelot" from Betarigs.

https://www.betarigs.com/rig/1893

You will probably end up with over 10,000 coins by the end of the 24 hr mining contract later this afternoon.  Which would put you among the top 50 Quebecoin bagholders  Wink:

Hello everyone,
Is there multiple exchange with quebecoin on it ?

We were listed on Bittrex for a while, however we were unable to maintain the minimum trading volume.  Something like 0.01 BTC or more per 24 hours.  Pretty hard to do when nobody knows about your coin.  The large exchanges are only interested in popular coins that already have strong demand for trading, they are not in the business of fostering fledgling coins.  Right now we only have the Cryptobec exchange that Guillaume (ghonyme), has put together.  Guillaume has stated that he eventually plans to add other services to his site as the coin develops.

Ah, booo, I'm too late.

No, I will also send you some as well, to your Quebecoin wallet.

Let me know if you want a package. The only charge is for shipping.

I would like to try the dark coffee.  Could you send one dark with one house blend?  Right now I have litecoins (from Zeushash mining), so I would have to exchange those first for bitcoin.  I will be able to do that later in the afternoon.

I am very sorry to hear about your health troubles.  You will be in my thoughts.  I wanted to let you know that I really appreciated your service so far, and I was looking forward to becoming a regular customer.  The product is excellent, and I think it is exactly the type of business that bitcoin is well suited for.

The other Québecoin giveaway I have planned will be a betarigs Quebecoin mining contract (probably 6 hours or so, yielding roughly a couple thousand coins).  Stay tuned.

Here's a little thank for the new members who have just joined the conversation.  The first one to post their Quebecoin address in this thread will receive 5000 QBC.

Looks likes the pre-mine lock-down kicked in at block 15242? https://github.com/morinpa/QBC/commit/7958693ed6433191ea04ee479ff6ac7669788d1b

I was mining with my CPU on the cryptobec pool on July 23, which was the day before the fork.  I looked up the credit stats and it lists the last block that I received credit on before the fork as 53341.  I resumed mining on July 26 where the block number starts at 55336.  So the first block after the fork was probably somewhere after 54000, I would think?

Update: I just played around with the stats again and it indicates that block 54005 would have been the first block after the fork at around 2 PM on July 24th.

So allo allo from slightly northern Manitoba.  Just stumbled upon this coin tonight while looking for low-difficulty coins, things you can still mine with a 7950.  Right now I'm 15% of your network, giddy with power, talking like Megamind.

I just rented a 36 Mh/s rig from Betarigs ($1.37 in BTC) and will become over 50% of the network for the next 6 hours.  Just a little experiment I like to try every once in a while, even though it isn't very cost effective.

So what's all this about exchanges?  I don't wanna trade my coins for other coins, I wanna trade em for a 40oz at the depanneur if and when I ever get back to Montreal.  *sigh*  Fou-Fou Electrique still closed?  Bummer.

Foufounes Électriques is very much active, however it is now quite mainstream in terms of the entertainment.  The place to go now for the underground scene would be places like the Katacombes.

At the present moment an exchange is honestly the only way we can derive any value from the Quebecoins we hold.  Assuming there is a buyer who wishes to pick up some for some bitcoin.  That can give us the little bit of bitcoin we may need in order to make a small purchase and have enough to cover the fees.  Like finding some change at the bottom of your sofa.  Some real merchant activity with Québecoin would be ideal, however the exchange activity also plays a vital role in securing Québecoin's place in the crypto ecosystem.

That was me who placed the buy orders earlier.
218  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit Send tab not computing corresponding $ amount on: October 15, 2014, 01:27:03 AM
I just changed the display language from French to English and it now appears to work.  Perhaps a bug with the language settings.
219  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit Send tab not computing corresponding $ amount on: October 15, 2014, 01:20:38 AM
Thanks, that's a good idea.  I'll try that next.
220  Other / MultiBit / MultiBit Send tab not computing corresponding $ amount on: October 14, 2014, 11:54:05 PM
I am having an intermittent problem entering the correct bitcoin amount and getting it to send.  Sometimes when I enter the Amount of bitcoin that I want to send on the Send tab, the corresponding $ amount remains blank.  Alternately, if I enter the $ amount, the automatic conversion that is supposed to take place in the bitcoin field does not show up.  With one field blank, I am unable to make the transaction.  Then if I try to manually enter the amount into both fields, I end up sending the wrong amount, which in many cases means that the transaction is voided at the merchant end, since many transactions require exact amounts to be sent.   The wallet is useless to me if I can't fix this bug.

I have the same wallet installed on a different computer which has never displayed this problem.
