201  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] NastyFans 1g .999 Fine Silver Collector's Rounds (2013) - 0.025 BTC on: August 27, 2013, 09:03:56 PM
Here's is my review of the Nasty Fans 1 gram silver round.

Great artwork for a small round. I'm surprised at the detail. And the fact that the complete Nasty Fans donation address is legible. I like them.
They are slightly smaller than a dime and thinner.

My rounds were shipped in individual plastic bags (as OgNasty has already shown).

Here is a close-up of the obverse and reverse (aka front and back).

Individual extreme close-ups of obverse and reverse.

The dark area in the bottom-right is a shadow from my hand. I didn't notice until post processing that it was there.

Size comparison with USD quarter and dime. Note the shadows, indicating thickness.

Size comparison with €1 and €0.10 coins. Note the shadows, indicating thickness.

Size comparison with a 1/10 troy ounce gold round. The gold round is about 3 grams. Note the shadows, indicating thickness.

All photos taken with my Galaxy S3 phone in natural sunlight.

People should be receiving these coins by now.  Any thoughts/pictures?

For every day of bad luck on P2Pool a day of good luck is coming.

We hope so.

Thank you I will order soon Smiley Do they come in a airtight capsule like other silver or gold coins?

I have obtained a limited quantity of airtites that will fit these coins.  They are available for an additional BTC0.005 per coin.  Anyone who has already ordered and would like to upgrade their order to contain airtites, please feel free to send the correct amount to the payment address and let me know via PM.

UPDATE:
THE COINS HAVE ARRIVED AND THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!  I will package up all of the pre-orders and ship them out tomorrow evening.

Could you post pictures? I'd place my order ASAP if I like them.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get mine. I'll even have a pic with other coins next to it for comparison.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I feel you should implement a "buy max" button to populate the "Quantity" field with the maximum number based on share price and available funds. Equally, a "sell all" button would be be nice or even a field where people could state how many btc they want to invest whit a given share price.

Give the "Fill" button a try. For more fun... use the button a few notches from the top. It might be what you're looking for.

It seems like the more people that mine a particular P2Pool, that might help with luck?

P2Pool is made up of many different nodes--all connected together. A node is a computer that is running the P2Pool software. It automatically connects to other nodes, in much the same way the standard Bitcoin client does. So, if you mine on one particular node, you help every node!

When you submit a P2Pool pplns share, it is sent to all nodes. If one node goes down, the others will still make sure you get your payments (if you are owed any).

So, the more power P2Pool has (together with all the nodes) the less variance it will have. This will help Nasty Fans too.
208  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | ASIC + Scrypt BTC/NVC/LTC/NMC/IXC/DVC on: August 22, 2013, 03:10:36 AM
Now that that's done: With apologies to OgNasty for a temporary thread hijack, lets get back on topic with Nasty Fans.
P2Pool nodes are more on topic than you might think.   Wink

OK then, more thread hijacking with P2Pool!  Cheesy

Thought I was up to the challenge of getting on P2Pool but after an hour of trying to configure it and getting nowhere I gave up  Huh, sorry guys :-(

Getting a local P2Pool node setup can be tricky. The good news is that anyone can use a public a P2Pool node. They did all the hard P2Pool setup for you. (Some public nodes charge a fee some don't.) Pick a node that works best for you. Pro Tip: Use multiple nodes as backups.

All you have to do is connect your miner to a node and use your BTC payout address as your username and "x" and as the password. Warning: Make sure your payout address is from a "standard" wallet--not from an exchange or other service.

Example:
http://example.tld:9332
User: 1NastyFRkeUTmMdbMmzggDVTQA6r3ibUoX
Pass: x

And that's it.

Here is a (sort of out-of-date) list I found after doing an exhaustive single search:

hehe...ya...my little 3.5 Gh/s doesn't put much of a dent in anything at p2pool Sad

Well, you have .5 Gh/s more than me!  Hence asking how much "enough power" was to make a difference at p2pool...

OK.

If you make .05 BTC  per day or more at other pools then give P2Pool a try.
Please note: Since P2Pool is a "smaller" pool, pool luck will heavily affect your payouts.
Also note: P2Pool works best if you stick with it. You'll need 1 to 3 days to get "normalized" payouts.
If any of the above make you uncomfortable, then don't try P2Pool.

Features that all P2Pool nodes offer:
  • PPLNS
  • No registration
     Just start mining!
  • Payout instantly whenever a block is found on any node.
  • No minimum payout as long as you have an active share
  • P2Pool pays the block reward AND all the TX fees in that block!
Other pools keep the TX fees for themselves.
  • The miner that finds the block gets an extra bonus! (0.5% of the block payout)
  • Decent graphs show your progress and speed.
  • No coins stored in the server's wallet.
     Better security
Payouts show up as a mined transaction.
  • If node goes down, mine at another P2Pool node.
No loss of PPLNS shares, other nodes guarantee your payout.
Use other nodes as backups in your miner config.

Now that that's done: With apologies to OgNasty for a temporary thread hijack, lets get back on topic with Nasty Fans.

Can someone explain me about the price of shares?
...
Basic-mining is stable company with stable divident payments, so what does really influence share prices?

The market is made up of people. And people are influenced by a number of factors. Usually, greed and fear.
So, to honestly answer your question: No one can tell you exactly why the shares are priced the way they are.

Past examples:

Lately, the price has been going down. This is mostly due to so many new companies offering shares for the first time (IPOs). People want to "get in on the ground floor and ride it up." In order to get funds to do this, they sell shares they have in existing companies (like bASIC-MINING). As more people sell, the price goes lower and lower. Is it gambling? Sure, but it's also investing... high risk investing, but investing. (Greed)

The price of bASIC-MINING has also sharply risen when creativex announced new equipment added to the asset. This makes sense as more equipment means more dividends. (Greed)

The price tanked when there was a hint of chance that the US government would introduce regulation. (Fear) This blew over and the market gradually recovered. (Mostly)

Maybe I should try mining p2pool... sadly i have never given it a shot.

I highly recommend it to anyone with enough mining power. 0 fee PPLNS (Some public nodes charge a fee). All TX fees collected in the block are paid to miners. The block finder gets a small bonus.
212  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: August 21, 2013, 08:19:38 PM
We had our shares split 10 for 1. All values have been adjusted.

Total dividends of 1.07261277 will be paid this week.

This is about 0.00043426  per share with an instant annual dividend yield of 19.00%

This week, all of our underlying assets have continued to decrease. This is still due to so many IPO's of every kind.

This has caused the NAV per share to decrease to BTC0.1189

Future Outlook - My guess as to what's to come.

This week, bASIC-MINING and Cognitive have increased their power with additional ASIC devices.
Nasty Fans has taken a huge step to up its mining power by placing a large order for BFL's new Monarch 28nm ASIC devices. We can only hope BFL actually behaves like a company that cares about its customers and ships them as promised.
Cognitive has also promised 28nm technology.
With the next generation of ASICs being released, this of course means that we are all playing the waiting game... again.
"28nm .... coming soon.™"

MiningCo.ETF is available on BTCT.co and as a pass-through on BitFunder.

Good luck on these... BFL has a pretty bad track record.

<Hope> There is only one way BFL's track record can go from here.... </hope>

Can I transfer my bitcoins to btc-tc directly from Virwox (exchange) or am I required to use a wallet I own?
Thanks in advance.

Like Rannasha said, it's OK to deposit coins from where ever to your btct.co deposit address.

Problems occur when you use btct.co to directly pay another service... such as if you play a dice game.
Because btct.co withdraws come from a different address than your deposit address, these dice games will payback to the that address instead of your deposit address.
Btct.co policy says that it gets to keep these payments.

To sum up (tl;dr):

Deposits: can be made from anywhere.

Withdraws: to your own wallet first... then use your coin how you please.

MiningCo.ETF has successfully completed the 10 for 1 stock split on btct.co and on BitFunder.

Please make sure to clear any open orders and adjust your price accordingly.

All three new batch 1s are hashing. They're only running @ 300Mhz as I haven't yet flashed them, but they're all in tip top shape and working for us now. Hello 1.4Th/s.

Cheers.
Pssst.... time to update the OP!

He can do that later. Right now, there are Avies to config!  Grin
217  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: August 19, 2013, 10:43:49 PM
So what is the update with stock split ?

The motion passed. I have contacted burnside and Ukyo about splitting the asset 10 for 1.

Split complete on BTCT.CO.

Please be careful when placing new bids and asks.

Cheers.

This is great.  The spreadsheet has been updated to reflect the split shares. I have increased the decimal to 4 places in a number of different cells.

BitFunder shares have still not split.Trading will continue on Bitfunder shares, but I would advise everyone to clear your market orders until after the split completes.
I have sent Ukyo another message to split the shares but have not heard from him.

Does Bitfunder not have capability to hold votes?
No.  Angry

220  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Nasty-PT 100 shares = 1 Nasty Fans seat on: August 15, 2013, 09:23:36 PM
Transferring existing Nasty Fans seats to the pass-through on btct.co is now available.
You will get 100 NASTY-PT shares on btct.co for every Nasty Fans seat.

Please see the second post for complete information.

FAQ:

Is it easy to do?
No. It's a bit involved but not too complicated. There is no automated way to do this so it can be a slow process.

Why would anyone want to do this?
Because they want one place for all their assets. They don't want to deal with another web site.
Shares are more liquid than seats.
Because now you can.

Are there any fees?
There are no fees to transfer your Nasty Fans seats to the btct.co pass-through. However, all pass-through shares have the same fees applied regarding dividends: 1% donated back to Nasty Fans, plus 4% for management fees.

Can I ask any other questions?
Sure, ask them right in this thread!
