201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can my Bitcoin be stolen on: June 08, 2014, 05:25:20 AM
I just installed a bitcoin client on my PC , a was thinking before i download my wallet from blockchain.info, If someone has access to my PC or if i am infected by a virus will this compromise allow my bitcoin to be stolen?

Put a really long password on it, it would be almost impossible to hack then...

204  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long will ASIC companys live? on: February 05, 2014, 02:15:58 PM
So I'm sitting here and thinking. Other then Mining equipment ASIC company's don't make anything else. With them flooding the market how long till they end up in a hole. I know the first ones will have something nice put away but there might be an investment that will break them. Like at what point will people say hummmm there is no way to make money off that machine. Why even bother. Are we getting close? I mean a month and a half ago 400Gh/s was doing 200 USD a day. Now its only doing 100. Or do you think people will always be ready to buy the biggest and baddest even though it will not make any money at all?

Forever or until no body want to mine any more..
205  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: mining software on: February 05, 2014, 02:11:56 PM
Is there any mining software which can auto setup itself regarding video card?
Or have some settings where I can define intensity with maximum of gpu temperature or gpu fan speed.
So GPU never increase for example 85 oC.
Or remote control of pc and mining settings, I don't like to use vnc or rdp, to change settings on miner.

None, the best is cgminer and do a google search, you should get the setting easily..

207  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I upgrade my CPU? bit benefits for CPU only mining? on: January 29, 2014, 12:47:29 AM
Hello!

I currently got AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition

I like to mine CPU only coins, this is a 2-3 years old CPU.

How much more coins would I for example get if I bought AMD FX-8350 Black Edition ?

Would u guys think the cost is worth the upgrade?

cheers

Not worth it at all, CPU coins are getting more and more unprofitable due to massive server mining...

Hello!  As I've stated in the title, I have $10,000 to spend on Bitcoin mining.  I'm however am having trouble finding the best buy.  If any of you can tell me what the best miner is for 12 BTC with the most reliability, highest hashrate, lowest power consumption, best reputation, fastest time from order to shipment, etc.

Thanks!

210  Economy / Economics / Re: Would World War instantly destroy Bitcoin? on: January 16, 2014, 02:51:57 PM
I am curious to those of you in the blockchain engineering side of Bitcoin what would happen to Bitcoin if a large scale war developed.

Unless there are features I am unaware of it seems that Bitcoin would not survive as certainly internet access across the globe would be regulated and controlled the moment war broke out resulting in forked blockchains everywhere.

And doesn't this mean that eventually Bitcoin will die because another World War most certainly will happen some day...

No, the price would sky rocket cause no body want to keep USD.
211  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 5 GPU 280x rig - What am I missing? on: January 14, 2014, 01:34:12 AM
i heard it's best to try to avoid power risers...

Wrong, you will need power risers if you have more then 2-3 GPU cause it would put too much weight on your motherboard power...

216  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Lots of computers mining at low hash rate on: December 23, 2013, 12:36:32 AM
Hello. I run a small software development business. I was wondering if let's say 30 computers mining at roughly 10MH/s each to the same worker would be at all useful? I ask because my applications that I sell/distribute are made to be used for extended periods of time. So if a user is running my software and my software automatically runs CGMiner on their system (yes, I would get their approval first via the TOS), would it actually produce anything?

Edit:
Would I be better to use LTC?

Not worth it, you are wasting lots of electricity if you are not stealing it...

219  Bitcoin / Mining support / computer restart for no reason - suspect PSU problem on: December 08, 2013, 02:38:42 PM
Guys,

I have been using cgminer mining with 3 GPU (R9 280x) for about 3 weeks with seasonic 1000watt platinum PSU. But today it just restart my whole comp immediately when I start mining with 3 gpu but it work with 2 gpu. I only draw 780 watt from wall with 3 GPU so power isn't the problem. What can it be?

Thanks...
