203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to accept bitcoins for commerce on: June 12, 2011, 04:48:56 PM
If you plan on spending those bitcoins on other peoples goods/services then that is great.

But if you just plan on turning those bitcoins into cash again then its a bad idea for any business. The volatility is too high, you are paying upwards of 4-5% transaction fees on everything, and its not what bitcoins were originally intended for (cash->bitcoin->cash again)

The technical concerns you should note, is that you need to wait for minutes to hours for the tranasaction to be confirmed by the system.

that's why we need a bitcoin bank, or a payment tool like BTC-paypal.
204  Other / Beginners & Help / a lesson learned today on: June 12, 2011, 04:44:40 PM
In such a highly volatile market, never ran out of cash, I mean, USD cash. When in the market begin a panic, you can find a good chance to earn money. I used to buy BTC with all my planned cash, but it was proven a bad strategy.

205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: damn it! I've sold lots of my bitcoin around $11 on: June 12, 2011, 12:23:31 PM
I should not be so scared! And any suggestion, please, should I just buy back? feel like a huge loss for me!

I think the recent correction turned into a irrational broader panic, im not suggesting you should borrow against your mortgage to buy. But you may miss a big opportunity if you don't get back on before tuesday.

Though I still am a little bit worried, I've decided to buy back some. But I won't use all of the money in hand, in case it will fall back again.

209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / question about upgrading to the new edition on: June 09, 2011, 06:09:12 PM
I have already installed version 0.3.21
what should I do to upgrade to 0.3.22?
just download and install at the same folder where 0.3.21 is?
will my money disappear?

It don't make we normal people who are not geeks feel safe to use bitcoin, at least now.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senators seek crackdown on "Bitcoin" currency on: June 08, 2011, 06:04:46 PM

211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are getting thrown under the bus by our goverment on: June 08, 2011, 04:29:47 PM
Japan is a baby state of USA since WW2

If the banks decide to freeze MtGox accounts it will cause the price of Bitcoin to plummet. We're all taking this risk

it's not risk, but opportunity.

214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What do you think is the best way to give BTC political correction? on: June 08, 2011, 03:43:31 PM
Below is my answer:

To make more than 15% of the population of U.S. have bitcoin.
To make the total market cap. of BTC = 10 billion USD.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / It's already somehow inconvenient to use BTC as a currency on: June 05, 2011, 04:28:14 PM
The price is too high.

I'm living in China, I want to sold several my books, it's about 10-30 CNY, and worth only 0.09 BTC-0.27 BTC.

You can see the inconvenience lies in the small numbers, though it's not very obvious.

If the prices keeps going up, the problem is going to be obvious. So I suggest that the team move fast, to make something = 10^-3 BTC.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: www.bitcoin.org is suspiciously slow in China on: June 03, 2011, 07:16:15 PM
They will understand it fast. but since it's not against the Party, I think it's OK for Mr. Fang.

218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got a suggestion to make BTC unquestionablly legal. not sure new or not. on: June 02, 2011, 04:34:15 PM
And I can represent part of the people from the Wall Street.
Some of them are eager to do business about BTC, such as structure financial engineering products link to BTC, underwrite stocks and bonds in BTC, trade BTC as a legal commodity or Forex, they want to long BTC and short it, too, and they can write a bunch of bull shit of research reports about the exchange rate and the future of the BTC to the public... It's all in their future interest.

And other nations want to embraces the wealth represented by the BTC. Yes, actually it's in the best interest for all the governments as a whole to kill BTC together, however, they are in a situation of the Prisoner's Dilemma. There just need only one of them, and there definitely will be one, cannot resist the huge benefit, who make BTC a legal Foreign currency  in their bank system and law system, which bring a lot of BTC deposit into their country. Of course they can find a way to tax BTC transactions, at least part of them.

Then ,one by one, the BTC will be legal.

BTC won't be able to take down the current money system, but can be part of it. It can be trillions USD worth.

219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got a suggestion to make BTC unquestionablly legal. not sure new or not. on: June 02, 2011, 04:24:01 PM
Countries only become countries if other countries accept them as countries.

No other countries will accept your "country" as a country.

That's why diplomatists are needed.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got a suggestion to make BTC unquestionablly legal. not sure new or not. on: June 02, 2011, 04:23:10 PM
. Even then, there is no guarantee that other countries will recognize your sovereignty.

And there is nothing impossible, too. When we try, they will start to admit it sooner or later, as other new nations emerged in the world map after the world war II.
