201  Economy / Trading Discussion / binaryFate & Caesium's Mystery Box Transparency Thread on: September 20, 2013, 02:29:17 PM
Hello, first off sorry if this is the wrong area, feel free to move it, I couldn't see a better subforum.

This is a public declaration of my intent to resell the 'mystery box' as we'll call it, to binaryFate, and an audit trail for others to see payment is made etc.

The 'mystery box' is, to the best of my knowledge, a box of USB miners being sent from ASICMINER. I have reason to believe there's 20 in it, going by:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282910.msg3196578#msg3196578 and
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282910.msg3196946#msg3196946
and also given that I also purchased 4 blades in batch 2 (you can dig out my winning bid in that crazy second auction thread yourself, it's non-editable anyway.)

We've hashed out some details in PM, so here goes:
- I have DHL tracking saying package is enroute from Shenzhen, I expect to get it in a week or less.
- binaryFate has agreed to send 1 BTC to 1Gh5SG1A6n8Nrw4pCG9Jf4AECFF7ko4tYd as payment for it this evening. This covers both the importation fee and cost of reposting it onwards.
- I'll pay the £58 importation fee as soon as 1 BTC received (if no BTC received, I'll just refuse delivery in a week and have it sent back).
- Fluctuations in BTC value between now and reposting the box have no bearing on this agreement, I won't ask for more if BTC drops to $1, binaryFate won't ask for a refund if it soars to $300.
- I'll provide binaryFate with the DHL tracking link at this time as well.
- I'll relabel and send onto binaryFate the unopened box the same day it arrives (please PM me the address binaryFate)
- I'll use the best available postage within reason, to try and get some tracking details (I know this is ambiguous, but I don't know what's available to send a package of unknown size to an unknown address right now, all I know is the destination country!)

I've added a few extra points in besides what we discussed in PM so please read those over binaryFate (notably the BTC value and the tracking link)

from PM:
- 1 BTC is ok. (I can pay upfront).
- In exchange of the payment, you'll get the box, and send it to me. The box should not be open so I know nothing will be missing. Whatever is in the box is not part of the deal, so you agree not to change your mind even if you knew what is inside, I agree not to complain if there is not much in it.
- Yes, if we do things right, a public thread would be perfect. Could you create it?
and I hereby agree with the above statements.

If anyone sees any detail I obviously missed please point it out.

If you're happy with all that binaryFate, please quote me and send payment, will confirm once received and be in regular contact on this thread Smiley
202  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 20, 2013, 12:37:03 PM
Got a mail too. 'USB DONGLES NO BATTERY', 1 piece (but how many are in the box is anyone's guess).

How do you know you're getting 20? (I bought four blades in second batch also)

It's a nice gesture but frankly I don't really want them and I'm being charged £58 import fee just to receive them, so if anyone wants them they can have whatever is in the box for £58. If no takers I'll probably just refuse delivery (sorry friedcat).

Why? Because you're too stupid to understand how usernames work on the Internet?
I don't know much about Skype but I would guess usernames are unique? And I don't think they expire.

And what does that forum username have to do with Skype?
Both screenshots refer to the same skype username.

No. No they don't. You can prove this to yourself quite easily, look at other posts by other members on that forum. Lets take an example, http://forum.onverse.com/showthread.php?p=334731#post334731

Hover over that icon and observe 'Send a message via Skype to Martin Abernathy'.

Skype doesn't allow spaces in usernames (source: skype website, right now, go to Sign up and hover over '?' near username). So that can't be his skype username, ergo that forum simply uses the forum username in that popup.
204  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 17, 2013, 03:32:28 PM
May I add to the motion that priority of selling goes to shareholders?

Depends how creativex plans to sell it. If at auction, I vote no for this addition, it will restrict the price we can achieve.
205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: August 31, 2013, 09:26:09 PM
NO. This is not how electronics work. Do not use anything but 12V.

What do you know about electronics?  What's the P/N of the DC/DC Regulator?  You might very well be able to throw 24VDC at it.

Its the equivalent of saying you can ram 10V through a processor - as long as the power delivery is the same. No, just no.

Actually, depending on the regulators used, the blades may very well be able to accept anything from 5v to 24v and still put 12v out on the other side for the blade to use, such parts do exist. I wouldn't like to try it myself without being told in the specs that it'll work though.
206  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: August 31, 2013, 04:19:15 PM
I may be overly skeptical here. But doesn't the fact that this is all a demo now mean that if 'Coinlenders' so wished they would be able to pay back all deposits with zero interest and there would be zero recourse against them?

It's a demo. There's no real money. So nobody will mind if TF shuts the demo down and disappears into the night, will they?
207  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: August 29, 2013, 05:58:26 PM
Futhermore, it is the standard for the Bitcoin Community to have disclaimer on their service and it's so far so good.

Nobody's saying there shouldn't be a disclaimer, but CL's are starting to border on absurd.

Quote
In the worst case, if you were to fall, someone will be willing to give a helping hand as we all are on the same boat thus Bitcoin community have more power to defend ourselves back.

If you say so. Let me be the first to say that if CL were to run into trouble most depositors would have their coins out as quick as their browser would let them, and they'd move it somewhere else with the next best returns, leaving TF to fight his own battles. Sorry.
208  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: August 29, 2013, 05:30:11 PM
TF, why not just comply with all relevant laws and legislations, instead of jumping through hoops that won't make any difference? Too much like hard work?

At the end of the day, you're still taking deposits from the public which makes you a bank, however you want to word it makes no difference.

In my country (UK), this would subject you to the might of the FSA (good documentary on Channel 4 last year about this, 'Bank of Dave', an individual setup his own bank and had to become FSA approved just like every other big bank).
209  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: August 29, 2013, 05:04:51 PM
So I lost my money?

No, nothing has changed. I have my doubts as to whether the legal position has changed either, but I'm sure TF has received good legal advice on the matter, so what do I know.

Very clever TradeFortress Smiley
211  Economy / Lending / Re: 150BTC Loan for 4 days on: August 22, 2013, 04:14:43 PM
Is TradeFortress willing to facilitate the account locking and essentially act as escrow/collateral holder for this?

213  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 23, 2013, 06:14:38 PM
TradeFortress I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but did you post your verified real world identity somewhere? I think for a service like this, we would need to know.
No. If I default, it wouldn't help you much anyways - the identity of pirateat40, ianbakewell, etc are known, but that hasn't achieved much.

In light of today's news, any change on position here?
214  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 26, 2013, 04:08:51 PM
No, he is just retarded. Use the ignore feature. The button should be bright red soon enough.

Off topic, but there really should be "ignored by X users" rating on accounts. Along with the trust, account date, etc it would help identify users with an occasional unhelpful post vs a repeat offender.

That's pretty much what the colour of the Ignore button is. The brighter it is, the more people ignored them. I've been enjoying watching his steadily grow brighter and brighter by the hour.

More details on how their bitcoin acceptance works, quite interesting:

216  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 05, 2013, 04:22:44 PM
Quite a few voices in the blade sales thread saying they're not getting responses to requests to buy blades now.

Clearly it would be a waste of friedcat's time to reply to everyone saying why they can't have a blade so we'll have to guess. Have they stopped/slowed down selling for a bit to regain some more network share maybe?

I noticed in the blockchain the AM is getting around 2 blocks an hour, that is around  1200 BTC/day or 8400 BTC in a week, the dividend last paid is  571 BTC.

571 just for one passthrough - asicminer is more than just one passthrough, there are other shareholders (sadly) Wink
219  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting on: June 01, 2013, 01:05:16 AM
1 win in 8 rolls.

7 Losses.

Seriously, PrimeDice, GTFO.

What's your user? I wanna see dis. Hard to believe one can be so unlucky Tongue

Clearly never been to Vegas and seen black come up 20 times? Smiley

I think 7 losses in 8 (assuming he's at 50%) is a lot more common than you'd expect.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Separators after the decimal place. on: June 01, 2013, 12:04:04 AM
Sweet Jesus no. That looks wrong on so many levels. If you want to express amounts in mBTC or Satoshis and then use thousand separators where they're supposed to be, on the LEFT SIDE OF THE DOT, then people would understand it.
