These fuckers were caught red handed!

Nice find OP.
202  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (COMMUNITY ALERT) Virwox stole my money on: August 09, 2014, 05:22:22 AM
Wow - I've used Virwox many times to buy coins with paypal. I never had an issue with them at all.

Have you bought coins with them before?
203  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: WARNING SCAM ALERT!!! 24change.com SCAM on: August 09, 2014, 05:17:31 AM
Yes, I can confirm this site is a scam. They got me a long time ago... back when I didn't know any better.
204  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed :( on: August 09, 2014, 04:47:39 AM
OT:
Since this is under "Scam Accusations" who is it that scammed you? It would be nice to know what guy to avoid, even though it was on a "secret forum".

yeah it got moved to here, i purposely tried to avoid it since the scammer wasnt on this forum but i dont wanna give out any details even though i have his skype and such... not that type of person haha hope you understand! if it was someone on bitcointalk i most definitely would have but il respect his privacy haha

What? let's see if I got this right: You're respecting the privacy of a thief who stole from you  Huh

Exactly. As far as I'm concerned, this is just an excuse to beg for more coins. What's your youtube channel? What's the transaction ID? You're good with PS and computers... take a screenshot of the forum convo, it's not hard to redact info so we can't identify the secret forum.

I'm calling you out OP - provide proof or else you'll be the one considered to be scamming.

~ Has anyone confirmed this is a 16 year old? Skimmed through OP's post history... can't say I even buy that.
205  Other / Off-topic / Re: karma on: August 09, 2014, 03:14:23 AM
Not really sure why I believe in it anymore. I don't lie/steal/cheat/hate... and I help people in the real world and ask for nothing in return. Under this karma fantasy, one would think good things would happen to me in return. Well, hasn't happened yet. Hell, I never even sued anyone before even though I've had reason. I can't help but wonder... am I missing out on my good karma?
206  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban the person above you (jokingly). on: August 09, 2014, 03:04:01 AM
Banned for being thrifty.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Empty, no transactions, no nothing on: August 07, 2014, 01:10:47 AM
Linux is only considered safer because you don't run everything as root while in Windows people have a tendency to log in with their admin account and hence when you run executable files they have access to pretty much everything. Also, it's just more economically feasible for hackers and thieves to go after the operating system which has the most number of users by far - your going to get a lot more people with a windows executable than you are with a tarball that needs to be compiled for Linux.

Agree with everything you've written.

Although one problem with Linux is how easy it is for malware to get root access on a Linux desktop OS (one with a GUI). A keylogger can be written in just a single line of bash script and it is capable of keylogging your root/sudo password because most Linux distros have no kind of GUI isolation at all. It can then use the password to gain root priviledges.

Microsoft have actually tried to do SOMETHING about this. I am sure it is probably defeatable though.

Good lawd! I guess that's why it's advisable not to install a GUI on a linux server. I'm guilty... totally guilty.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Empty, no transactions, no nothing on: August 07, 2014, 01:08:45 AM
This is why I opted to go with Linux... felt it was a tidbit safer; perceived safer perhaps? Even though I have a PC and initially had Win8 installed on my server, I've learned what executables can do... so you're def right, there's a level of trust needed. Years ago and just because I learned it was possible, I stripped an exe file down to it's smallest pieces (I think) without installing it. It can be done, but I agree, not easy at all.

Linux definitely has more security features built in than Windows, but a badly configured or unpatched Linux system isn't safe. Just because you use Linux doesn't mean you are safe.

Additionally I think that it would be easier for malware to hide on a Linux system than on a Windows one. We've seen malware thats hidden at a kernel level, something that is not so easy to do in Windows as you'd probably need the source code for the kernel to do that.

On top of that most of the common Linux X servers do not do any kind of GUI isolation at all. Microsoft made an attempt at least, though I don't know how good it really is.

Windows gets a lot of flack, but really it's security isn't all that bad. A lot of PC manufcaturers preinstall tons of bloatware to make extra money and additionally lots of people run pirated copies of Windows which don't receive any security updates. When those people then get viruses/hacked they try to blame Microsoft when it is themselves or their PC manufacturer who is at fault.

A fully patched and properly configured Windows installation running software built from known good sources is safe.

Evidently you misunderstood what I wrote - I said SAFER, not that it is SAFE. Any system that connects to the www is no way safe. Just to clarify... there were two reasons I opted for Linux over Win8 (although I love the interface), but primarily because of the wallet files that I'd be forced to download - for windows they are exe... and like I said, I know what can hide in them.
209  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Teodor87 on: August 06, 2014, 01:37:29 PM
Well explain why my topic about this guy was deleted and I will share a link.
So what - he can spread rumors about me and I cant defend myself with a topic?

Have you seen the last scam reports? Looks like the purp had the same style - bragging about his scams after hes done it.
Has it occured to you that it might be this guy?
Hes obviously in love with himself. He cant take criticism. He defends scammers and spreads rumors.

Again I say - please, if I ever scammed anyone - PLEASE come forward.

Assuming is for idiots. Brainwashing too. We have heads for a reason.

And here's the real reason for his topic:
"I think some people from the default trust list should add negative feedback until he pays the $100 bet he made (and clearly lost)."

So the scammer is angry that he wont get a free 100$. That should clear it up. And yes - there are users with scammer tags for spreading false information about scams.

I have no clue what you're talking about...perhaps you should ask a mod. But you still haven't answered my question.
210  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Teodor87 on: August 06, 2014, 05:24:48 AM
We have saying in Bulgaria - "If someone says that your sister is a slut in public it wouldnt really matter that you dont have a sister."

People always trust the yeller. And its a known fact that thieves yell "Catch the thief".

The whole argument with this guy started in a topic of another scammer who claimed to be from Ukraine but he wasnt and was "selling bulk" bitcoins. Whatever that means.

For some reason this transgender douche started defending an obvious scammer. Why?

Explain. I dont post his non sense but you can check it. Yes he bought 20$ worth of stellars to throw dust in your faces but dont cry when he scores big on you guys.

Please... Do share link Smiley

But can you explain why one minute you're asking for a loan, then the next trying to buy coins that one would assume you shouldn't have?
211  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Teodor87 on: August 06, 2014, 05:03:26 AM
Typical response of the guilty/caught:

Man, you have 10 accounts, defend obvious scammers, and create spam topics about me, and I am the scammer?

Get a life, African douche! Are you from Nigeria?

Saying the truth hurts, right, Douche? I've shown people that your "friends" accounts are actually accounts that you created. I mean who defends an unknown person to such extent to create false threads?

I'll tell you whom - himself!

Some douche from Africa like you ruined bitcoinclassifieds and coinboards. 1 guy held 50 accounts and the bitcoinclassifieds owner closed it because lots of people threatened to sue!

So stop this, otherwise I'd report you to a moderator to give you a scammer tag!

Pathetic loser. Everyone sees through you. And this site might get closed also because of douchebags like yourself. How many profiles do you have by the way. Because you only use this one to spread rumors about me. Pathetic loser.

Based on your posts from the last couple of days... Prez might be onto something and may very well have the last laugh. The eyes are on you now buddy.
212  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Teodor87 on: August 06, 2014, 04:57:28 AM
I can go on for days but I'm bored. If you really believe he's not a future scammer and needs to be tagged with negative feedback then idk what to tell you.

All I ask is a member from the default trust list and if they feel he is a scam threat to mark him. I already have him on ignore. I presented the information and its your call if you feel hes a risk or not.

Please don't misinterpret what I initially told you... I agreed he's probably is - but told you that your case couldn't be validated at that time. NOTE: these posts are AFTER your initial OP. I reviewed his post history and didn't find anything relating to what you claimed... it's possible he could've deleted them before anyone got a chance to see them. Point is, none of that was linked to your claim against this member. Trust me - when I said it looked like you were just angry because he didn't pay up - that's what it looked like for lots of people I'm sure.

Sure, I consider this behavior suspect... most would probably agree. But again - NONE of that was posted! I'm pretty sure your request to tag his ass will happen soon - if it hasn't already.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Empty, no transactions, no nothing on: August 06, 2014, 04:45:58 AM
Reading that thread there are many people accusing the developer of putting viruses in the coin.

Be WAY more careful in the future. Don't run ANYTHING you aren't 9,001% sure is safe. If you are installing software that has the source code available, learn how to compile it from source. Running the exe puts a lot of trust in the developer as the exe can do ANYTHING. People can check the source code for viruses but they cannot easily check the exe.

This is why I opted to go with Linux... felt it was a tidbit safer; perceived safer perhaps? Even though I have a PC and initially had Win8 installed on my server, I've learned what executables can do... so you're def right, there's a level of trust needed. 215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Advertising spam is not allowed on: August 05, 2014, 05:01:20 AM
So it is spam for our exchange to let a thread know we listed them?? Since I had 2 posts deleted I can only assume the answer is yes. How is it spam letting communities know ONE time they are listed on an exchange? Please let me know.

Welcome to this thread Smiley
216  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Teodor87 on: August 05, 2014, 05:00:21 AM
Well, I don't know..

He wants to sell 2 BTC for 4x$300 MP in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=724822.0

But.

He needs 0.25 BTC loan for a month with no collateral in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=718735.0 & https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=705947.20

 Huh

Too bad, he's a terrible beggar - and I wouldn't doubt a scammer... but there has to be reason. All 3 of these posts were made within the last couple of hours - still nothing about him trying to convince people to send him coins via Paypal or whatever as OP claimed. In two of the posts you linked he's asking for a loan. And the other he's asking a question but still relating to receiving not selling coins. At worst - at least right now, he's a troll. Now if I read his previous posts and saw that he's actually targeting noobs, attempting to make deals, then sure. But right now, OP has no leg to say homeboy is a scammer. But I'm no scammer pro - I've called out a few every now and again... but perhaps OP should get someone else to evaluate this.
217  Other / Meta / Re: It's this stupid shit that pisses me off. on: August 05, 2014, 03:08:52 AM
Paid signatures. The more bullshit they post, the more btc they'll get.

Which doesn't get them far in the end as long as the paid signature operators look through the posts.

Or you could do like me... posted for 2 months and never got a dime. My fault tho - I never claimed my bounty! Hell, I forgot... at least the casino got 2 months of free posts from me. Guess that's why I don't do signature ads.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Empty, no transactions, no nothing on: August 05, 2014, 02:30:31 AM
So more than one coin wallet compromised... sounds more like a hack than tech mishap - I'm sorry about your lost man.

Please keep the community abreast of possible culprit. Don't know much about Fitcoin or the TheBotCoin... not accusing, but we've had some wallet stealing wallets in the past.

Ill be sure to post it if I find out how the hack was done... I find it strange that the transaction history etc is missing though.

That means the wallet.dat file is gone.
219  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google 2 A Authentication on: August 05, 2014, 02:22:37 AM
I'm not saying it's the most secure way, no. Nothing is the most secure. However, a hacker would need to know both my password and have access to my cell, iPad and/or email to access the accounts I use 2FA for. I never use any type of auto log on feature like what I think you're describing? I know how the random code generator works for 2FA - I use it on my iPad, but it's conjunction with my account password (if that makes sense). But isn't that method tied to a specific device anyway? Again I don't use QR codes so my 2FA apps are always tied to my device... IDK...maybe it seems that the a new QR code should be generated for each log in?  I'd feel much 'safer' with a random QR codes for each log in. What if I'm sitting at work (I'd never do this), and have the QR code on my screen - with the cameras on today's code, someone 10 feet behind could take a pic of screen and capture my code. That's a little extreme, but what if I lose my phone with the QR pic saved as a pic? Rhetorical question of course.

If someone gets your QR code, you're 2FA is bypassed. Of course passwords etc are additional security. I was referring to the situation where an attacker already has your password which is what 2FA protects you against, if the hacker doesn't have your password having your 2FA is useless.

When setting up the 2FA initially of course you do it somewhere private, yes cameras can pick it up, thats why showing a new code for each login is a bad idea because each time you login you'd have a chance of being filmed or malware on your PC compromising it.

You might want to confirm that... it's possible it could be device based. When I carried an iPhone and iPad - I could hit the 'generate' button at the same time and both would generate a different code. Again - I don't use QR codes so it could work totally different... but with non QR code token generating apps (that's what they are - I use iToken now) after entering my password for the site, I just have to add the code provided by iToken.

How did you setup iToken with the website?
Ah, I see - I guess it makes a little better sense now... so you're assigned permanent QR codes that's just used to generate a random token. Like I said I don't use that option, can't say that I ever will. I tried scanning a QR code once using my iPad. It only took that once to determine the hell with them, lol. But maybe it was the high glare from my thunderbolt, but my iPad couldn't read that bastard for anything - and I was trying to donate to someone. Oh well, I gave it a shot. I don't even have a QR scanner now.

To set up iToken, an email link was sent to me  and I had to open on my iPad (from computer where app is to be downloaded)... and enter an activation code. That's as far as my tech knowledge goes in that direction. But I can only use that iToken app with that website unless I 'register' additional sites, each with a different token. iToken's made by Quest... and looking at the more info button, it has my device ID captured. Nice... it even tells me the token type, serial number, date, cycle - wow. Anyhoo, this app wouldn't be used by anyone who'd want to remain anon, because it pretty much knows who the device is registered to.

The token generating apps I used be fore and had a version installed on an iPhone and iPad was Coinbase's - actually that may have been during the time I had an android tablet and an iPhone... but even so - I remember testing it, if you will. Each code generated was different is my point, on both devices, even tho they were tied to the same online account.
