201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NXTMine Pool - hashrate.org - Beta Testing on: March 24, 2014, 12:11:13 AM
I believe it is the same error, put the "ASICMiner Block Erupter" to help test:

In other pools does not happen only in hashrate.org

Today I started putting 2x 7970.

I put these settings I used to LTC. Got any tips?

I think that was the best idea to distribute and disseminate NX so far.
Congratulations.

Who are not satisfied and used escrow service, get the money back when you want.
Correct? So better wait and see what will happen later on and then decide.

33.7 and up
If it is not the bitcoin Satoshi, will start to like the idea.

I still do not understand how NXT was developed in such a short time. Brilliant people can be, but with a good amount of luck.
Exo, to be good,  should not present a code in a single class. Now yes, after a few months have a customer with a more decent Code. Luckily it was not hacked everything. A guy with the profile "Dr Evil" found a bug that could have ended the project.
I'm no expert in cryptography, but a project takes a good few months to get ready, tested, and always comes out with some bug.
If it is really serious, we should wait longer and only after, but many tests, put in production. So we would be actually building a new currency and a new ecosystem cryptocurrency rather than something to just capitalize some money and turn a useless altcoin any.
206  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Stolen from Poloniex on: March 04, 2014, 09:43:22 PM
I would send today 3BTC to buy LTC, but something told me to send 0.1 BTC today for testing. They're in my account 0.1BTC. I think que is standard.

Queue, queue, queue ... that's right!
I developed a system of payments for the game and queuing processes and recording all log, I finally able to sleep soundly.

Another idea I've not seen in exchanges, after login, where people confirm checkbox they received your coins. It would be necessary, for each address, send a small value and confirm it has received.
Only after confirming, first checked in blockchain after the checkbox by own user, could make new withdrawals for different addresses.

As a developer I feel for you.  It is terrible when something like this happens.

One thing to think about:
One of the biggest problems is the NXT be tricky to implement in exchange. Was long time stuck in the "dgex" partly because it.
To most successful Exo (or any altcoin 'not clone') would be interesting to have an API for this implementation, preferably making as
close as possible with BTC and all Altcoins clones and a developer responsible for guiding them. Thus the exchanges would add faster.

so im going to go ahead and put this out there so that as many people know about it as possible before round 2.

escrow for round 2 will work differently from round 1

Instead of using a spreadsheet to keep up with everything, im actually just going to use the built in functionality of the accounting ledger that is already provided for us by the bitcoin blockchain. There are many advantages. I will not have to do the same work twice for no reason. Also it elimiates the possibility for human error. what this will mean is that if you participate in round 2 you MUST BE ABLE TO SIGN a message with one of the addresses that you send from.

now don't freak out. Its very simple and for anyone who doesn't know how to do this I will personally walk you through every step and teach you how.

im going to be posting this several times to make sure that everyone sees it because the one big drawback to this is that if you send from an exchange or an address that you dont control than you will be donating your coins to me. granted this is a significant drawback but weighed against the advantages I think its worth it.

I suppose that means that is not possibile to send coins
from an exchange directly as it was in the 1st stage?
 Huh

that's correct

F**k NO good for me!  Angry
I don't use bitcoin at all I just needed it to buy some NXT and some other alt coins
as nobody wants to accept FIAT therefore I had to open an account on an exchange site
and send from there.

i understand this is going to be an inconvenience for some people but i feel very strongly that the benefits outweigh the costs.

its very simple to create a blockchain.info e-wallet. it literally takes less than a minute and you will be able to sign any messages you need from there.

Creates a tutorial "SIGN for dummies". I'm afraid to do shit... have money involved.

We would redraw the pie chart like the following:
mining:                50%
3rd stage:            crossed-out entirely
interest block:       crossed-out entirely
2nd stage:           10% + 5% + 3.5% = 18.5%
1st stage:            15% + 2.5% + 6% = 23.5%
mail:                    4%
bounties/giveaways: 4%

That would change the amount of EXO for early-birds to be: 0.1BTC equivalents 13,430 EXO
mail giveaway people would get: 4000EXO (if 1000 people, otherwise 2667EXO if 1500 people) thus an equivalent of 0.02 to 0.03 BTC

If the community is OK with these plans then we would change the pie chart to what I just described.

+1 OK, got better

211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the solution to current problems do not happen more: on: February 25, 2014, 04:27:29 PM
I believe it should be the obligation of bitcoin foundation maintained with donation of key stakeholders (exchanges, large pool miners, etc.)
Considerable increase in technical crew
Creation of a "core" bitcoin, that can withstand the volume to be used in trade.
Maintenance and testing of the same, with each update of the protocol.
Creating a certification that the exchange uses this core, with code inspection by technical foundation and with a verifiable link for final user.
(This exchange is in accordance with the security parameters of the BTC Foundation)

Exchanges should maintain a fund that is accessed only with 75% of passwords of members to solve problems up to a certain value in the event of insolvency.
Example: Guaranteed to 10BTC if the exchange fails. How do most banks connected to a central bank.

I thought they were going to put:

213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the greatest lesson of MtGox? on: February 25, 2014, 03:02:21 PM
The greatest lesson is not to send money to shoddily run businesses. I could never even understand why people sent money there in the first place it was always taken weeks and months to get verified or withdraw money etc.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Never trust anybody.
Greed is not good.
Make sure to follow market news (articles warning for mtgox have been published since several weeks)
etc

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I'll take this lesson
Better to have a smaller profit than getting nothing.

Exchange is not a bank!
Never sleep with BTC on an exchange.
Send -> Negotiate -> Move your wallet.
Give preference to trade with more coins types, it becomes easier to exchange and have to where run.

I need a holiday to pway it.

Any comments on the white paper?

I Read the whiteparer and apparently is legitimate.
I'm web developer (php / mysql / flex), do not have such an advanced understanding in cryptography to guarantee anything.
Waiting for the next versions with more technical details. The UML and code is coming will help evaluate better the developers plans.
But the paper -> UML to get to software is a hard road. The paper accepts everything.
I'll wait for the scenes of the next chapters.
:p

while this is true what exokk wrote - we have just discussed about that point. Although we think it is rather unlikely to happen at all we will do the following just in case that it will happen anyway:

lets assume that an early bird would get less EXO from his/her investment than a 2nd stager (both invested equal amount of course).

the early bird block (15%) would be extended -  in this case "stealing it" from the 2nd stage block (lets say 15% -> 17% and 10% -> 8% then). The procentual amount of the "stealing" would be choosen to be, so that early birds will get at least some EXO more than 2nd stager for the same investment to make it more fair (the earlier you invest the more risks you have the more EXO you want to receive). [this applies to the situation 2nd <->3rd stage unfairness, too ofcourse]

But as exokk already has written: We would naturally expect, that you get more EXO out of your (same amount of) investment at 1st than at 2nd than at 3rd stage even without the correction process that I just wrote down here.

I hope this will help you. In our oppinion this is the best solution to be fair to everyone and to honor early investors risks.

eXocoin team

Interesting and very fair without moving the 50% mining, which I consider an untouchable point for success of this project
