201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NLG] Guldencoin — offline/online merchants, nlgcup.com, amazing community on: June 21, 2014, 08:38:45 AM
We've had some interesting talks with a very cool start-up from Amsterdam... And tonight we will announce our partnership, so stay tuned.

Excellent news!

I bet the person who dumped 400k yesterday is kicking themselves now!

Just thought i'd let you guys know I've applied to get this listed on the new voting system on poloinex.
https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

Maybe if some others want to put in a request too?

The good (Huh?) thing is, they don't accept paid votes - that's not to say they won't get BOT's in there wreaking havoc from the word go, but hey, let's see what we can do Smiley

Looks like they only accept 1 entry.

Quote
Duplicate entries will be deleted. Please only submit this form once. Thank you!

Sure - that means the same person shouldn't submit the coin twice.
I mean, how on earth is everyone supposed to know who's submitted a request, and who hasn't?
Get your own request in there and we'll be listed in no time!

Let's put the current price in perspective.

When the market reopened, and everyone thought there were to be 60m coins, the market valued c2 at around 450sat.
When it was realised there were actually 100m coins, the price took a natural adjustment....

(450sat x 60m) / 100m = 270 sat

So, yes, the fact that holders of c2 have seen a dilution of their coins, and therefore we've lost value in terms of btc. The actual price for new investors and overall market price is actually pretty steady, give or take a few  %

The fact that c2 is still alive is testament to the guys behind the coin, and without them we'd be sat on a coin worth zip.

Time will tell how this will play out, but right now i see nothing seriously wrong with the direction in where it's heading.

Now that we're on Bittrex anda Swisscex, it seems everyone's forgotten about Mintpal voting
https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG

It's great we're on 2 exchanges, but what happens in 3 months, 6 months time, when we want to be aiming to be on a larger exchange as things start to really take off?

We'll be left behind (on Mintpal at least), that's what will happen.

I counted the votes over the last 24 hours on Mintpal

We went from 1960 - 1971.
That's just 11 votes in 24 hours.

Not only that, my personal votes were 1961, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1971..... that's 8 of the 11 votes.

So, as a community, excluding my vote, there were only 3 votes between you all.

We need to do better than that, much better!

It's 10 seconds out of your day to click and vote, that's all..... every little helps the community move forward. Remember, we're not aiming to get on Mintpal now, or in the next 3 months - we're building for the future, and the future starts now!

Who's with me?

Alright, let's guess how high it will be in 5 hours  Smiley Smiley

I say 1.6k

2k Smiley today or tomorrow

I say to those who think it's going to go this high by tomorrow, to buy today.

People are going to bail initially, so the price drop will be the perfect time to buy!

Already down to 450SAT on Mintpal.... buyer's paradise!

Just an update on Mintpal voting https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG

Monday morning - votes = 1915
Tuesday morning - votes = 1970
Wednesday (missed the number)
Thursday morning - votes = 1950

Someone here is voting for us with a bot...... and we are being penalised for that. We've lost an estimated 120 or more votes.

Not only that, we're dropping in the rankings. Currently we're 70 - we were 68 previously. This isn't only due to the bot-votes removal, but because other coins come along, and vote stronger than we do!

This needs to be a constant community push by everyone.

We can do this Smiley

YES!!!!!!!!! NLG won the Swisscex vote.

High Fives to everyone who was dedicated to voting on swisscex!

Brilliant news!
All those hours and days of clicking to vote every hour paid off!
Congratulations everyone.
One step at a time, we grow together..... :-)
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ DigiShield ✔ v2.9.1 ✔ Multi-Algo mining coming soon! on: June 03, 2014, 12:29:09 PM
Come today, when the issue of blocks solved per hour is lower than expected, and there's 100% price rise......

How is there being less coins bad news if you're the first one to realize it? Smiley

If the number of coins is always shown (ie http://altexplorer.net/chain/DigiByte/) then I guess it's how you base your valuation - but the number of blocks issued is always shown in the block explorer.....
The issue with the number of blocks being mined every hour, if wrong, would be, to me, a negative point (ie not working correctly)

I'm looking forward to the actual news from the Devs. I've built up my stash from trading, so any price rise is always welcome Smiley

It's interesting to see the price rise in the last couple of hours here.

Now, the team put out a message yesterday morning about good news coming - price hardly moved (+-5 SAT)

Come today, when the issue of blocks solved per hour is lower than expected, and there's 100% price rise......

Maybe I can't see the tree for the woods here, but when there's good news (yesterday), no-one pays attention, but when there's some bad news, people are flooding in to buy!
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NLG] Guldencoin — NEW MERCHANT IN AMSTERDAM'S CITY CENTER on: June 02, 2014, 10:35:40 AM
I still think it's important that people still vote, and vote constantly on Mintpal.

The simple fact is that there's only around 50 votes a day (or less) coming in on there, and at least 10 of them are from my account.

Between Friday afternoon and this morning, only 80 votes were added. Less than 1.5 Votes per hour.

It's obvious we're not going to get in the top 5 on Mintpal in the next few weeks anyway - but when the time comes when it's advantageous to get accepted on a bigger exchange, we certainly want to be up there with a fighting chance - not lingering behind other coins.
(heck, it would take over 3 months, with 50 votes a day, to even get in the top 20 - if no other coin voted!!!!!!)

The first step to getting noticed, is to get the name out there - be it high up on the voting rankings, or simply just replying to this thread, regularly, so it's always in the top 1 or 2 pages on the announcements pages here. All of these things cost nothing, other than a bit of our time, and perseverance.

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] New Piggycoin (****) | PoS | X11 | 10 days until launch on: June 01, 2014, 03:35:32 PM
curious what would happen if some old wallets never change their coins, will they just become lost coins?

Nice to see coinking developing a multipool, but really hope in the future piggycoin would own their own multipool.

Mining is a huge part of the education of cryptos, so it's only fitting for Piggy to have their own Pool to teach about mining even though it's indirect mining.

You could call it the Piggy Pen Smiley

This is a good point. I'm assuming there's going to be a "pot" of coins which are available for changing over, and if for instance, only 200m of the coins are changed over, what will happen with the other 50m? I seriously doubt it would be that many not changed, but there's going to be people out there who's wallets were lost / hard drives crashed / people who forget about them? Will there also be a time limit on this? I know some friends of mine who are simply saving their coins for a couple of years to see what happens to the market.

I'm after some community advice.

Currently the price is hovering around 20sat,which,  puts the 250m (pre x11) at 50btc value.
(or roughly equivalent of 3.5BTC per week of mining - 14 weeks)

When you jump to x11 mining for 1 week, and produce another 250m,why would the market value the relative huge influx of coins at 20sat (50 btc) also?

I'm was an original miner from day one (albeit in a small way) and after making some good gains in itc today i was looking to invest some here, but just can't get my head around how, realistically, the market will react.

Hi

Been a while since I checked in here, and glad to see the situation with the coins is being taken care of.

As I was one of the original 1,000, can someone let me know how what happened with the coins being 50m, not 60m as there are now.

What did I miss?

Sorry to be sarcastic, take it easy but ->
Just to read the thread here !

Feeling a little dumb right now.... tiredness will do that to you sometimes! Smiley

Another200 votes and we'll be in the 60's..... The only way is up!

Been an interesting weekend, watching the negative comments start to creep in (no names mentioned, but feel free to check out people's history when you've an idea they're sh*t stirring ) , and shortly after the attack on the price.

People are starting to sit up and take notice here - and with good reason. It's just a shame it can attract the less desirable type along the way!
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NLG] Guldencoin — NEW MERCHANT IN AMSTERDAM'S CITY CENTER on: May 19, 2014, 06:28:24 AM
if you have time
put the alarm every hour and vote
if we are 100 people who vote 5 times a day resulting 500 votes per day, in four weeks we get to Mintpal

Even 20 people would be great, right now seems like there is 4-5 consistent voters.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I've been voting every hour, where possible.
When I left work Saturday afternoon the votes were 977, when I arrived this morning they're 1073 - so you're looking around 50 votes per day.

Could we push this to 100+ votes a day - it doesn't take much! Just...1....click......away!

So..... I contacted Mintpal to find out why the votes had dropped.
Turns out someone's been bot-voting for NLG.
I guess not a ton of votes, as they only remove the votes which are deemed to be bot-related.
But basically their criteria for bot voting are accounts which vote 24 times a day (hell, we need to sleep right???), or people who's logged in from multiple accounts on the same IP address.
So, whoever's been doing that, is wasting their time, and that's why we lost a few votes.

We're back to 99 now - so lets get up the list
https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG

Does anyone on here remember the last figure for Mintpal voting?

I've just voted again (last time a couple of hours ago) and noticed we've dropped down to 102, from what I believe was 94/95 position.
I know for certain we were a hell of a lot of votes ahead of that abomonation of a coin Aphroditecoin, and yet now, we're only 1 position up on it!

Short of every other coin between 94 and 102 voting like mad within the last 90 minutes or so, something's very fishy here!

https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG

Yes, something happened with Mintpal votes, it dropped from 94 to 102, weird... is it worth it to keep voting for mintpal if they going to remove votes?

Mintpal is a really good exchange and the fact NLG is basically top 100 is really good considering it wasn't around when there was cheap votes and not much btc votes have come in. It's a lot harder for new coins to climb the ladder without massive amounts of btc being thrown at it. So fact it's top 25% in less then a month is really really good.

Do they really remove votes, or does the position of NLG just drops because the other coins get more votes?

We need someone with deep pockets.. that can buy us on top of that exchange Wink.

Rather than bribing mintpal for votes it will be better to offer some incentive to merchants accepting the coin.
This way price will grown , demand also and we;ll have plenty of voters
