201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is fine to support Bitcoin Cash. on: November 25, 2020, 07:38:54 PM
This is the crypto space, hence you are entitled to your own opinion so is another, also you are entitled to whatever coin you want to support so is another, that also means, your reason for supporting a coin might not really make sense to someone, so is the person's reason for supporting whatever coin; this is what makes humans unique.
About Bitcoin cash, anyone can support it and anyone can go against it, but personally to me, no coin can be compared with Bitcoin, because till date, it remains the best in all ramifications. Also, Bitcoin transaction fee is friendly so far, so I don't understand where the aspect of $10 comes from, probably from Ethereum in months ago.
So in essence, support whichever coin you want, be it Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin, but in each case also have good reasons to support whichever coin, although this is mostly for altcoins.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing my $2000 to altcoins instead of Bitcoin on: November 24, 2020, 01:23:25 PM
Guys, if you have $2k today, where do you put it? Which altcoins? Seems altcoins already rallied high and i dont want to be caught at the high.

First thing first, considering the high rise of most altcoins today, one will need to understand the possible risks of going for any now. However, with everything being correct, I think the recent growth of the market will most likely center on major altcoins and that Is currently happening, in this case, in my own opinion, going for Ethereum is the best bet because as it is the top altcoin in the crypto market, every possible attention will be on it and more growth will stem from it. Not only that, its upcoming upgrade is another reason why most people will go for it. In addition, altcoins like BNB can also be looked into.
Nevertheless, I think holding BTC is also a good idea, that is, if it were to be me, 40% Bitcoin, 40% Ethereum and 20% BNB.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are centralized projects more reliable right now? on: November 24, 2020, 01:12:05 PM
Many new projects using the name decentralized aren't capable to be fully decentralized because what they offer are more like centralized ideas, it's shocking that many DeFi projects got hacked in 2020, this will forever be remembered in crypto history, why are DeFi projects easily getting breached by hackers ? Are centralized projects and platform a more reliable option right now? Why DeFi?

This case scenario borders many angles. First, I would say decentralized projects are more reliable because they bears the true idea/concept of the crypto space thus leading to more transparency and accountability, however there are a good number of projects just using that term "decentralization" while in reality, they are not, that is, they are just using it to attract people and nothing more. Secondly, centralized projects are also good but somewhat reliable and thus depends on the project and its team, a project like XRP has changed status quo, but can same be said of a whole lot of centralized projects coming up now? No. Thirdly, in the case of Defi projects, they are meant to be truly decentralized but with them getting hacked, it is a sign that something is actually wrong and I can't really fathom who to blame, but most likely the team.
Therefore with all these, my opinion is, there are good decentralized projects and good centralized projects as well, and in addition to this, choosing the project to invest should be based on the idea and use case as they are the most important deciding attributes.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season probably won't happen like the past? on: November 22, 2020, 06:58:22 PM
Is there a possibility that only bitcoin will remain bullish this year? Can altcoin season be left out? The reason why I'm asking is some are already doubting, what if only very few altcoins grows higher in value and things failed to go the same way as that of 2017? What's your answer?

Since a very good number of altcoins are shitcoins, then it is good to understand and bear in mind that only few altcoins will experience the bull run, there is no doubt about it. 2017 was different as many people were doing blind investing thinking many coins are worth it, but from 2017 till date, many things have changed, many things have happened and people have learnt a lot, investors can now differentiate between good altcoins and worthless altcoins, and hence no one will want to invest in worthless coins. Therefore, the understanding that only few altcoins will be part of the altcoin season, with a good number going to major altcoins.

206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DEX must take over on: November 21, 2020, 07:58:22 AM
This issue of asking of users data or the security of users data is what made many people to hardly trade on most centralized exchanges, at the same time, some centralized exchanges were smart enough to allow users to trade and withdraw without KYC but for a limited amount, in this way, they try as much as possible to accommodate all users. Another shortcoming which can be seen in centralized exchanges is the aspect of security, many has been hacked even the top exchanges. However, they have good volume, advanced interface, features and so on.
On the other hand, in as much as decentralized exchanges do not require users data, their major shortcoming is volume; however, they have good security which can be seen as the most important.
Therefore, it can be seen that, both category of exchanges have their limitations as well as advantages, hence it will be difficult for one to takeover from the other, thereby I think it's better both co-exist and let it be left for users to choose the one they want.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tech giant Tencent partners with ShareRing Blockchain on: November 21, 2020, 07:44:00 AM
I think it is now becoming clearer that in one way or the other, existing platform will have to partner with crypto platforms or look for ways to leverage any cryptocurrencies which suits their goals for platform enhancing and better services for users, PayPal is taking such steps and now Tencent is on the verge of doing theirs. In my own opinion, I see it as a good move towards mainstream adoption because in one way or the other, both platforms will be able to achieve their aims. Also, taking into account the favourable nature of the market now, coupled with the fact people are getting more involved since the past few weeks, we are likely to see more positive partnerships because none will want to lose out.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple and Bitcoin on: November 20, 2020, 05:34:40 PM
Each of these coins have their own advantages and unique features, it is true that Ripple is centralized thus making a lot of people to have some reserved thoughts about it, but however the coin have been doing well for a long time, having partnerships and all that, hence I can say Ripple will continue to survive. On the aspect of if it will replace Bitcoin, that's not gonna happen because Ripple doesn't have what it takes to achieve such feat or possiblity either now or in the long run. Looking at Bitcoin price, it is reaching towards its ATH but same cannot be said of other coins thus showing that, the attention has always been on Bitcoin first, before others. Lastly, the CEO is right, Ripple can't and won't compete with Bitcoin as it will only be a futile attempt.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 mistakes to avoid when investing in Crypto on: November 20, 2020, 05:18:47 PM
If you are a newbie in crypto world you are bound to make some mistakes but this thread is for you on how to avoind making those mistakes

1. You dont want to skip the learning part- You need to have an idea of what youre going to even if it is to make a research about it. You have read about an asset before you invest in it to know exactly what they are building.

2. You want to avoid using the wrong crypto exchanges. This is one thing you want to avoid because it can make you lose all your assets. You need to research about the exchange before even registering. Some exchanges have fake volumes and are not transparent enough.

3. You dont want to rely on a single coin- Diversification is very important when it comes to investment. You dont want to put all your eggs in one basket.

4. You want to avoid the fear of missing out (FOMO)- When you see everyone buying a trending coin you dont jump in, it might too good to be true

5. You dont want to forget the basic security. Keeping your private keys safe is very important. As a newbie you should understand how important private keys are. Also 2 factor authenticator shold be added to all your exchanges

The learning part or aspect is very important, because you can't venture into a business or investment without first knowing and learning what it is all about, else you will end up making massive mistakes. Also, you don't Invest just because of what people says, you need to understand what it takes, the risks and what it involves, so that you can make proper planning and so on. I also, I believe that after the learning process, the second most important is investing what you can afford to lose, so that you don't blame anyone for any reason because the crypto space is very volatile just as it is very attractive. All the other points are very articulated and apt, hence I believe this will serve as a good guide to a lot of people.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Yield Farming + Dividend Sharing Be The Next Trend For DeFi? on: November 19, 2020, 12:32:47 PM
What real assets are they backed up by? The reason for this question is that, most projects which used that line or approach that they are backed up by real assets turns out they were using it just to attract gullible ones and of course turns out to be scam. Also, talking about having good ideas, over the years many projects came up with good ideas but once the fundraising becomes successful, it will be clear that the team have no knowledge of whatever they are working on, in this case they will suddenly go mute and then abandon the project, so it is not about having good ideas, it is about actuallizing it.
In addtion, some of these DeFi projects have no plans for long term sustainability, they are just here to ride the hype, attract people and gradually the true nature will be made known and of course with the high rate of hacks being experienced among Defi projects, one need to be careful of whichever one he aims to associate with.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Defi Hack: Origin Dollar Loses $7 million on: November 19, 2020, 12:17:18 PM
What lead to the end of the ICO era was the high rate of scam recorded hence leading to lack of interest and now in the DeFi space, not only is the hype over but hackers are now having a field day with them. Many Defi projects has been hacked and millions stolen, maybe it is right to say that DeFi projects are not that strong as thought of, people can't continue losing money to hackers and also be expected to associate with these projects; hence this might lead to lack of interest and possible overlooking of DeFi projects and that will also mean the end of it. Origin Dollar platform being hacked, might not be able to come out from the situation because, automatically investors will not find it trustworthy enough to invest or even hold their tokens. Another issue this will likely present is that, most people will find it hard trusting other Defi projects or rather the upcoming ones.
212  Other / Archival / Re: 6 Most Popular Criticisms Of Bitcoin on: November 18, 2020, 09:27:37 AM
Bitcoin can be used for illicit acts, what about fiat? Before Bitcoin, fiat has been used for various bad activities and what has been done about it other than it to be increasing on a daily basis. In as much as fiat can be used for illicit activities, it can also be used for other good things, this then means that, using fiat for whatever reason is personal; all this can also be said of Bitcoin. Come to think of it, if Bitcoin is not valuable or is not a store of value, will it be used for anything, be it good or bad? People should stop looking at only the bad things others use Bitcoin for and focus on the potential it has and what it is solving. All these things they are saying about Bitcoin is because they have understood that it offers that which fiat do not offer, and that is, easier and trusted transactions etc.
Another point, Bitcoin will be replaced; over the years, many others always say Bitcoin have low speed etc, they proposed many things they will do better, but yet they are not even closed to replacing Bitcoin and now, nothing is being heard about them again.
Bitcoin is the best and there is nothing they can do about it, and the earlier they get involved, the better for them.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a world power? on: November 18, 2020, 09:13:10 AM
This will increase the creativity in bitcoin world.Have we thought of this, I’m seeing bitcoin leading the world as the world power cryptocurrency. If a president of the world power is a trader and in support of bitcoin, It will affect bitcoin positively, countries, people will now start to legalize bitcoin on their own.So it will be great if this happens, I do understand that bitcoin is not a physical cash, that doesn’t stopped anything,You can move with millions of dollars in your wallet as bitcoin. It will be a positive impact if this happens.

Bitcoin gained prominence due to its high level of trust, it also grew due to its decentralized nature, it means that, what Bitcoin offers is what is driving its growth. Although it's quite true that if the president of a world power support Bitcoin, it will grow even more but it is also good to remember that Bitcoin has been growing even without their support, further showing that with or without their support, Bitcoin is on the path of changing a lot of things in the world. However, looking from another point of view, it might be hard for a president to say that since it is obvious they can't control it, and what they can't control they might not support so that they won't lose their power.
Lastly, Bitcoin is already the world leading cryptocurrency because it can be trusted and can be accessed from anywhere in the world, but same can not be said of  the new digital currency created by central banks of some countries.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Will you Invest in Ethereum ICO if it is just Starting ? on: November 17, 2020, 07:57:01 AM
In my studies, I've come to understand that ICO and IPO are very similar, as they are fundraising strategies for startups.

Here are the areas of differences.

1. ICO are mostly for crypto and Blockchain backed new startups, who need funds to build their businesses, while IPO are for companies that have track performance, that want to raise funds  to scale operations.

2. ICO is like crowd funding, which has less regulation, but IPO are heavily regulated.

Here is what I want us to discuss.

Since ICO investment is very risky as it depends the new startup whitepaper and the token, how did we know Ethereum would become successful through it IPO?

If Ethereum is to start afresh and do an ICO, why will you invest?

Just like you already mentioned, both are fundraising strategies and I think both comes with their own risk, since investing is involved, hence i believe that before starting with any, one need to understand the risks involved. In the crypto space, unique ideas matters which is why, most projects do not struggle or find it hard to meet their hard cap during their fundraising while others struggles a lot in some case might be left with only soft cap or slightly higher. So this adequately shows that, unique idea is very important and that is what Ethereum offered to the crypto space, hence many projects which are huge today were given the opportunity to start on an already developed blockchain instead of starting from the scratch. Therefore, with this few points and many others about Ethereum, if the team are to start another fundraising now, I don't think it will last long, and yes I will invest.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a tokens portfolio/monitoring tool. on: November 17, 2020, 07:45:14 AM
The best way is usually through etherscan although it can be limited in the case of newly listed coins. However, considering the conditions you want, I think using trust wallet will give the needed results. Just import the wallet into trust wallet, and it will handle the rest, that is, if the coin is listed and already on coinmarketcap or Coingecko, it will show the actual price of the coin or token. So once you Import the wallet, all the listed coins will display their prices which of course is always updated as the price changes; in my own opinion I think it is quite the easy way out since you won't do any additional thing than just opening the wallet when you want.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will central banks create their own digital currencies? on: November 16, 2020, 04:11:55 PM

Hey everybody,

In the past 11 years since the birth of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies have gained immense momentum and popularity as they are
decentralized and are rather free from regulation.

As central banks are unable to control the influence and growth of cryptocurrencies, the latest buzz revolves around them wanting
to create their own digital currencies or cryptocurrencies. While some governments are contemplating about it,
others have gone ahead to start working on it.

You can read the full article in our blog: Will central banks create their own digital currencies?

What are your thoughts about the central banks’ digital currencies?

Regards,
Karl
Bitcasino.io

Actually it is a good idea that the government or Central banks are for once coming to the agreement of the truth about digital currencies or cryptocurrencies, and just like you rightly said, where some are already taking action towards it, others are still contemplating on the possibility of it, but however, this has proven one thing, and that is, crypto indeed have a place in the future.
On the other hand, in as much as this is good as it will bring more knowledge of cryptocurrencies to more people, however, whatever digital currency the government or central Banks are creating will be highly centralized and fully managed/controlled by them, therefore not bringing any much difference between their digital currency and physical currency (Fiat).
Therefore, my thought actually is, it is a good innovation at the right time, because with crypto gaining more popularity lately, their move towards creating their own digital currency will add more to the crypto space popularity, hence mass adoption.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: YOUC a good example of project recovering from dump because of it's potential on: November 14, 2020, 04:30:46 PM
There are projects that distributes bounty rewards and the price still was normal and vice versa. However, bounty hunters will always be blamed when their payment are made in most case scenario, but when the dump in price happens after tokensale by investors, no one says anything about it, that's by the way. However, it's good to see that even after payment and the huge dump was witnessed, the price still came up after some days, this shows the team are ready to actualize their dreams and aspirations towards the project. If it were to be for some projects, a blame game would have started, but in this case, everything turned around for good. Lastly, about recovering to the price it was before the distribution, that will depend on the team and what they are working on and if it is applicable enough on the long term, if so, it will attract more users and this means more growth.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time that there will be no new altcoin projects anymore on: November 14, 2020, 04:07:35 PM
Since the creation of Ethereum and other smart contract-based and token creation platforms we have seen the number of newly launched projects token created, we now have thousands of dead tokens and coins but many are still create it seems many tokens just come and go.

Do you think we will have a time that there will be no new tokens created and people will stop investing and supporting new tokens or coins?

Sometimes, i used to wonder what would have happened if there was no blockchain like Ethereum, maybe many scam projects won't be created at the same many innovative projects wouldn't have been created as well, maybe it can be seen as a two way thing. From a clear point of view, Ethereum blockchain did a very good job with its blockchain platform, in as much as many scam projects has been created, many good projects has been created as well, this means that, as investors or users, we are responsible for every investment decisions we make, which further means that, we are meant to understand the risks associated with crypto investing before taking a leap such that we won't blame anyone.
I used Ethereum blockchain as a case study, however the same scam projects can be found in other blockchains like Tron etc; hence confirming my earlier statement. Lastly, I do not think developers will stop creating projects, this is because, the blockchain space makes it easy for experts to bring in ideas as well as working on it, unlike in the outside world, but however due diligence should be taken at all times.

220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market cap can exceed Gold's after the next decade on: November 13, 2020, 10:03:43 AM
At this point the market cap of Bitcoin is around $384 billion and Gold's 9 trillion. Assuming that Gold's will double, try to imagine Bitcoin value.
Posted by Morgan Creek co-founder on Twitter personal page as a proof for the future of his actual beliefs regarding Bitcoin potential:

"Bitcoin’s market cap will surpass gold’s market cap by Dec 31, 2029.

Posting this as a receipt for the future."

Do you think it is a right and robust statement to say? How do we will approach Bitcoin blockchain after 10 years?

It is very clear that Bitcoin is very valuable, have great potentials and its value grows all the time, but looking at Gold, it is an asset that has been from time immemorial, its value grows all the time, countries stores it, companies stores it all because of its value. What I am pointing out is, Bitcoin will have it tough overtaking Gold; another limiting factor of Bitcoin, is its high volatility which is very low in the aspect of Gold. So in my own opinion, it is not a robust statement to say, because countries are still finding it hard to adopt Bitcoin because they can't control it while most people are still skeptical about it because of its volatility (although this will change with time) but same cannot be said of Gold.
