201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RazorCoin is a SCAM, and here's why. on: June 25, 2014, 09:18:05 PM
sorry dude. Look up what that actually means. Either you don't or you just want cheap coins.

This looks interesting. I'll request a free share and buy 5 shares as well.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: June 16, 2014, 01:18:00 AM
I am not involved in the PoS Multipool - this is the first I even heard about this type of ppol existing - BUT I really like the idea, it fits in perfectly with the goal on constantly supporting the coin.

Do we need more than one?

Yeah, it was invented by the Blackcoin guys if I'm not mistaken. It's a really innovative way of having miners still being able to mine the coin without crashing the price :-) We don't need more than one though, as these types of multipools aren't important to the network security the way pools are for PoW coins.

I thought Peer Coin was the first PoS coin, and most PoS coins are a fork of PeerCoin.

I think he means the PoS mulitpool - what it does is that it automatically mines profitable PoW coins then dumps those to BTC and use the BTC to buy the PoS coin. In theory it should help wth buy pressure, but not even BlackCoin's has reached the point where it creates significant buy pressure. So multipools are  a easy (but probably inefficient for the miner) way to get a PoS coin, but any effect on price stabilisation is more psychological than anything at this point.

When is Nautilus going proof of stake..isn't there a lot of PoW mining left to be done?
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Poloniex Has Rejected SuperCoin on: June 14, 2014, 09:07:11 PM
MAX_MONEY is pretty much what it sounds like. This means that the actual maximum supply of SuperCoin is 150 million, not 50 million. Furthermore, the maximum PoW coins is 50 million, rather than the claimed 18.2 million. The 150 million number appears twice in the code, so it can hardly be considered an accident.

That's retarded. How the fuck are you able to run an exchange, if you can't even figure out the basics?
MAX_MONEY doesn't indicate maximum supply, it's a check value for transaction validity.

MAX_MONEY itself doesn't provide extra coins, but it means they could be inserted into the blockchain and the network would consider them valid. This would be even easier to do using the "trustless" anon system.

What the fuck are you talking about? How would those "extra coins" be generated? You clearly have no idea how cryptocurrencies function.

The most likely way would be for them to push an update to adjust the reward. As I said, we did not find evidence of a hidden premine currently in existence. What legitimate explanation for this obviously deliberate adjustment to the variables do you have?

busoni, thank you for doing code reviews like this, but did you give the Super coin team a chance to respond to your findings?

208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea Fertilizer on: June 11, 2014, 01:01:46 AM
I looked through the Uro protocol and couldn't find anything online about the China and South Africa signers. Is there anything online about these companies or even about the people who signed in the documents (I didn't find much by Google)
i wish this coin will be good in the future.

More information will be provided when the legal team provides approval for us to post it. As you can understand each company has its own policies. Each of the Urea trading firms have signed many NDAs with numerous parties and there are things that we have to wait for legal to provide clearance on.

For Crown Team Corporation and CCL Pillay Group - we are aware that they do not have websites at the moment, and this is part of why Uro is needed - to revolutionize an inefficient Urea market based on sparse face to face connections into a modern, efficient and decentralized internet connected system that has transparency and speed. The Foundation is working out methods to deliver a press event that will ease the doubts that a few members are have regarding the legitimacy of every aspect of the Uro Protocol ratification.

Remember that baseless speculation of what is real or not does not contribute anything new to the discussion. Try to keep your comments based on facts, criticism and opinions regarding Uro itself - this thread is not intended for the discussion of personal issues - please start a new thread if you wish to criticize a person (unfortunately, it is likely that not many members will follow such a thread - since such discussions are rarely interesting for more then a few seconds). Missing information does not indicate dishonesty, but merely that the release of information can be improved - and we will keep improving the methods and content of information releases as the circumstances permit.

There are so many threads on this forum which are self-moderated to hide any negative posts and comments, but we believe in freedom and respect for everyone's rights and did not choose to go down that path.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions, and I will continue to do so before investing my BTC. I like what I have seen so far from some of the members of the URO foundation, but for others, information is hard to come by, so I will keep looking for that information.

Hi true-asset, I'm looking into URO and doing research on these companies. The address listed on India Trading Urea seems to be a hotel. This is what I get when I lookup the address "52 B, CONNAUGHT PLACE, CENTRAL DELHI": http://www.hotels.com/ho379558/apartment-52-new-delhi-india/ Is this a mistake? And if not why is the listed address a hotel - is this something common in India?

Ok did some more digging myself and it seems that that hotel is at a different address - it's just called Apartment 52 at Connaught Place, while B-52 (Im guessing thats the same as 52 B) seems to be some sort of office buildings. But I'd still like to see more information about "Urea Trading India". Is that a new company? If not, how long has it been around?

I had found something on the China company to be a VC group from HK and Indo.

http://hk.linkedin.com/pub/puji-utomo/34/44a/939

Looks very Real - All the companies mentioned look real and trading company.

Thanks! Looking good - it would be nice if there was some info on what the companies actually do. Anyone knows about these companies?
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE WALL OF SHAME on: June 09, 2014, 10:46:36 PM
Do you think Iconic Expert belongs on this list, barabbas?

No I don't. I KNOW he has done nothing wrong -as long as he returns the coins collected for the Wall Street failed event- and that his only mistake was to trust the scammer Carlos R. Torres Ferguson, alias Templar77. Why do I know it? Because I warned him of EXACTLY what would happen 7 days before it actually happened.

IE has said he's not returning the Wall Street event funds...so?

Hey, can anyone help me with an issue I have with my wallet? Whenever I start it (a Windows wallet) it just hangs without being responsive. You know the Windows issue whenever a program is not being responsive? But it always happens, even when I restart the wallet or my PC. I'm not Windows 7 if that helps.

Thanks.

I've had this happen from time to time over the years, the way I fixed it was by first saving your wallet.dat file then delete all other files in the dcom folder and relaunch the wallet qt exe. It redownloads the wallet files, then close your Wallet after it fully syncs, then swap the saved wallet.dat (your original) back in the folder, open your wallet back up and it should be fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I still have the problem after doing this. The wallet just says "Not responding" in the title. I'd love to get staking Smiley

I sending a pm for bounty as well.. I got to pay him lol. Grin

You need to remove bobsurplus from the Chinese version. He is not part of the team anymore and has revealed himself to have some of the very worse traits in crypto.

what's wrong with the name though!?
Sorry, what do you mean?

Below is a direct quote from the article (I would have thought you would have read it already!  Wink:

"Still, it’s got a ways to go before it’s competitive with bitcoin and its $8.4 billion market cap, to say nothing of the scrum of other coins, where so many seem to come, get some attention, and then flame out. But if the Blackcoin community can make its differences their selling point, they may have something.

They might want to consider changing that name, too."

What's wrong with the name Blackcoin? Sounds perfectly legit to me.

I wondered about that too and was wondering if they meant change rat4's name. If they are referring to 'Blackcoin' itself then they are just plain silly.

love blackcoin and it's community to death but what's up with the "once you go black, you never go back" it's a racial/sex reference that needs to go asap. We should all stick with "Always bet on black".

Officially they have not been using that since a long while. It's 'Meet black' or sometimes I see 'Always bet on black'

Our wallet has a Blackcoin card link in it? I have mixed feelings about this. Because if anything were to happen to that website, it could be trouble.

It can easily be removed in the next version of the wallet.
