201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: February 27, 2021, 01:47:46 PM
i. bitcoin whales
ii. the banks
iii. wall street
iv. hedge funds
v. crypto exchanges
vi. crypto influencers

These are factors that influence the demand for Bitcoin. They don't have directly impact on price, except from whales, that can collude and create bearish terms for Bitcoin. If I understand hedge funds, they are funds looking for opportunities to short. Some did that with Bitcoin and one time (2018) they were successful, however they probably lost their shirt and pants for the last 10 months shorting.
Crypto influencers are a big joke, they make money shilling shitcoins for advertisement and they are terrible at doing that, being close to be called biased and giving bad investment advice.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How future applications would be !? on: February 27, 2021, 01:43:12 PM
What do you think about the future? What do you think about the most successful blockchain applications? What ideas might be formed?
How is it possible to make entertainment - social application with help of blockchain? i need some example.

AI algorithms are included in almost all modern sciences. Applications are enhanced with artificial intelligence and so it will be with blockchain systems. I have found already a few projects that claim to be working towards this, however it is very high technology and just a few programmers in this field might have a clue on how to implement AI in blockchains. AI however is bringing results already and as I see it, running without AI will mean your engine still runs on coal.
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon Musk looking to buy more Bitcoin ? on: February 23, 2021, 11:30:36 AM
He could easily be fined for this kind of manipulation. Saying that Bitcoin's price is too high, when having invested already 1.5 Billion USD means that he either sold or he wants to buy more cheap. It is very bad move to make anyway and people that can influence millions should have more respect to their followers and not abuse this power they have. Meanwhile Tesla stock is also down a lot after this tweet.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crashed below $48K, is the bull market in danger? on: February 23, 2021, 10:39:37 AM
It is a little too early to determine and confirmation of a trend will be required. The drop to $45000 is scary and the price of Bitcoin could go lower for another week. I don't think this drop is threatening the bull run, but it is worth mentioning that it happened just two weeks after the end of the previous correction, and that it was mostly fueled by the news of Tesla investment in Bitcoin. Without a continuation in good news and very high prices for all assets a big correction was possible. My problem is again that it happened very early and perhaps the liquidity in the Bitcoin market is very lower from what we were expecting.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What drives alt season? on: February 22, 2021, 01:59:15 PM
Whales drive the alt season. They sold part of their BTC to pump the altcoins. Once they meet targets the alt season will be over and what we hold will be writting off losses.

We see Grayscale having added many more altcoins in Trusts, yet the interest in them is not even close to Bitcoin. So, it is not institutions buying Litecoin, Stellar, Bitcoin Cash, ETC, and the rest.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: February 22, 2021, 01:49:34 PM
You are certainly missing something here mate. It is not possible now fee to reach $3900 per tx. It is supposed to be $20 or near this amount all the time as long as network is congested. But in your case, I'm sure something is missing here.

Transfering a token requires further fees for ERC20 tokens. There is the gas price and gas limit. The gas limit for Ethereum transactions is 21,000. In order to transfer tokens gas limit depends on the smart contract and how it is written. I often come across 200,000 gas limit and perhaps the smart contract of this asset (DEGO) asks for a million or more.
When the gas fee you see in etherscan is recommended at $20 it means that moving tokens will require $100-$200 on an average. It depends on the smart contract features.

Local police will not help you a lot.

I disagree. This is internet crime and should be reported. Depending on the country, the authorities will have department for electronic crime and fraud, which will be responsible to find clues, if there will be any. However, I agree they will not help a lot unless the scam or hack reaches millions of dollars in total.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron is an outdated coin on: February 22, 2021, 01:38:15 PM
It was based on old and outdated tech

You mean the blockchain? Because this tech is what Tron is based.

However it seems this variation of the blockchain has been accused widely of being very centralized and could have legal issues, something that was refuted by Justin Sun lately. I don't know if it is centralized or not, but I don't think it has oudated tech as said above.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: February 22, 2021, 01:34:06 PM
Bitcointalk wasn't just popular since 2017. It was popular in 2013 and I wish I knew this forum back in the day. I had heard of Bitcoin but I didn't know there was this kind of activity and didn't look. If I had found bitcointalk earlier I would be part of this forum from the first day I knew about it.
For me, bitcointalk has helped me a lot in my research on many projects. Sometimes scams are not easy to notice, however in bitcointalk there are some members doing the good job of exposing them with evidence. This matters a lot.
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think we will see a lot of weak hands at $100K on: February 21, 2021, 10:43:19 AM
I'm not waiting for 100k, I have sold already. Am I missing profit? Probably. It can go a little longer and reach 100k and 200k, however I didn't expect to make ten times my money and I wasn't going to be strong hands that will hold in blood and tears when the price turns negative. I still hold a very small part of the investment but I'm selling very soon. I'm not a holder and not an investor, moreover this kind of talk about weak hands just has the opposite results and means there is little financial literacy from your part. Better go back to your Gamestop investment and feel better belonging to a community of day trader losers.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: February 21, 2021, 08:57:35 AM
What would that mean? Why will Doge have 100 billion dollar market cap? It is already a joke where it is, Elon Musk became a pump and dump manager and Doge is getting ridiculous overpriced at levels where all these that will buy, they will lose all their money eventually.
Buying Doge thinking it will go to $1 is very stupid.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if the bear market starts next month on: February 21, 2021, 08:51:06 AM
In a bear market, expect all altcoins to dive 95-99.99%.

This is the real risk an investor is taking when puting money today in any altcoin, especially those that are overvalued, the devs making billions, the exchanges too. At some point the new money entering will be less and the worse will come. Being ready for this event will help us minimize our losses.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot Good For Future? on: February 21, 2021, 08:47:35 AM
Polkadot is advertised a lot and because of market connections with big exchanges, marketing that did wonders and the recent bull run that helped altcoins reach extreme prices, it has managed to reach multi billion market cap. I would expect first to see results from Polkadot as I am taking this platform model with a pinch of salt after having seen how EOS and Tron prices have shrinked so much and never recovered.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how much you profit gain from this bull, my one is same as previous on: February 21, 2021, 08:43:29 AM
I hope you have already taken the profit and not just staring at your wallet because this bull run not last forever anyway I made 1200 dollars from in amepay token when the price spikes up to 0.04$, I've already taken my profits as I feel satisfied enough, I'm sure some make more, I have other tokens too that I'm hoping will pump big but for now nothing yet

Profit in paper is different from profit in the bank. I am always shipping the profit and never look back at how much I may have made if I held. As you said this bull run won't last forever, we enjoy and try to profit as much as possible from this one, yet we should be feeling the danger and not allow mistakes and greed to overwhelm us.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if the major holders of bitcoin all decided to sell it all? on: February 21, 2021, 08:08:20 AM
Well, if they decided to sell it all right now... this minute... I think there would be enough buyers to take up the slack Wink

Just 10% of these wallets if they decide to sell it will not be absorbed. It will also depend on the timing as there can be weeks with Bitcoin price not moving and interest fading. It is basically these wallets that will decide the market, pay the media for bearish news and keep pushing the price down for two years, when they begin the sell process. They are not selling now so you are being this much optimistic to think that the market will buy them without any problem in price.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: taking profit can be hard sometimes. on: February 20, 2021, 03:35:45 PM
It is different between Bitcoin and altcoins. I take some profit with altcoins too, but it is very difficult to find an optimum strategy. We can't stay for long in anything though, this is my opinion. I have made mistakes by not holding some altcoins for longer, as Cardano and BNB, however, I think the second mistake would be to rebuy at a price that is extreme. I selected these two altcoins just because I think the risk has reached the ceiling with both. They can rise more but how much and for how long, for what reasons exactly except speculation from traders? This is a bad decision to buy expecting something to keep rising forever without this asset having something fundamental like a userbase. BNB has the Binance userbase, but ask any big trader, is BNB required for any exchange? Why would an exchange need to have a native asset to burn for fees? This makes zero sense.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the price of neo will reach $ 200? on: February 20, 2021, 03:23:24 PM
The way the crypto market works, I wouldn't be surprised if they pumped NEO to $2000. However I won't put money in NEO right now. It was hot in 2017 but hasn't given us any news or developments that we were hoping all this time. However, all the junk has risen to tens of billions of market cap, why not NEO then?
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: February 20, 2021, 03:21:13 PM
I don't like the approach of institutions getting into cryptocurrencies either. I don't like all this fomo, the investment funds, the wealthy people, and all that is entering for one big reason. They don't look and don't understand. I read a lot of things given that crypto needs to be regulated and we should have our ID connected with all our wallets. Many are accepting this as a necessary evil, although we don't need to, and we don't need to listen to them.
I've read posts even in bitcointalk saying it should be done this way and are trying to push this kind of agenda to make Bitcoin an asset locked in Grayscale, Paypal, and perhaps Coinbase. I don't agree with that and Bitcoin is not about an investment being locked in a third party.
We are here to make money, at least most of us, however, we don't sell out our ideals and our integrity.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: February 20, 2021, 08:16:02 AM
The fees may be acceptable for buying a Tesla for $ 40-50k, but certainly not for daily payments.

The way I see it, soon Bitcoin fees won't be acceptable even for buying a Tesla. It could be thousands of dollars in fees, since Bitcoin will be used for ways to secure wealth of nations and not just individuals. Fees is the way for Bitcoin to scale and miners select only the highest fees. In a scenario where international trade is settled in Bitcoin, it will mean at least a thousand dollar fees for each transaction.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have some 16000 usd but need to know investment portion on: February 19, 2021, 07:42:50 AM

i have done many jobs and hard earned 16000usd. If i invest on INJ , ETH, DOt or any other potential coin. What is the investment amount or ration that would you all recommended ?

1000$ or 3000$ or 100$ or any other amount?

You made this kind of money with sweat and effort. Investing is fine, but consider doing that with patience and not when prices are so high. I was also tempted to do the same but look again at the market. It is horribly overvalued and anytime it can start crashing with just one bad news appearing. It is close to one year right now since the last halving of Bitcoin rewards and while we can have a few more months of a bullrun and altcoin season, I have started feeling the risk being so high that I can't put money in it at all. Pay attention to the prices, they will go down a lot at some point. If possible, just trade and be ready to exit if there are signs of prices collapsing.
