Monero - 0.01 => 0.026 => ? (how many) do you think?

Probably once BTC tops we will have the next up wave. Where and when is the question. The GUI should generate a nice spike too.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 17, 2016, 11:03:34 PM
With the GUI news, I guess we can conclude that .0088 was the bottom. Now we are at .009924 and you can bet that this is discount price. Not sure about breaking ATH soon, but a nice green candle or two is almost guaranteed.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 17, 2016, 01:49:56 AM
Damn. That's quite the resume. Predictions moving forward? Are we building a floor here around 0.01?
I think we're going to see a spike up soon with the release of the GUI. I bought a few in anticipation of that. But once the initial excitement wears off I think we'll continue to slide down and below 0.01 again. This still looks like a bear market to me, and if bitcoin continues to rally this will result in selling pressure on altcoins at least for the short term, if past behavior is any indication.

I think the above reply by TheKoziTwo sums it up perfectly.
Looking forward to the GUI Beta release in the next few days.

Yeah, it feels right. Also, the .0077 bottom or something less feels right. However, Im not putting my moneros where my mouth is and Im permaholding.

I can stand dry months, but I couldnīt stand to sell/burn at the bottom. And as long as the bottom seems to be near, I just will wait for the next tide.

Thanks for your words, Kurious. I wouldnīt try to catch the exact, optimal bottom, thought. And if you are going to try, try it softly Wink

Tons of time without enter the room, but looking at the price more or less daily.

Looking at the chart from a EW perspective looks like bottom, isn't?

Whatīs the feeling?

Great news. Do we know if you have to proof your identity to deposit/withdraw?

Thereīs like 60 to 120k shorts that have to cover. This is rebounding fast
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 29, 2016, 03:11:19 AM
Another new ATH. The satellite is in orbit.

The volume speaks for himself

We are headed to 25-75 usd shorter than mid term

I know I have asked a few times about a paper wallet but wanted to be absolutely sure.A paper wallet from moneroaddress is what I would be using for long term storage until there is a GUI.

The plan is:

Download the zipfile and be disconnected from the internet.

https://github.com/moneromooo-monero/monero-wallet-generator

Generate wallet.

Write down the mnemonic seed. Also, the public address, spend and view key.

Then just send from Poloniex and should be able to sleep better at night.

What if I just print them out, chances are small that it can get compromised from the printer? Its an Epson, 2-3 years old.

Also, monero being anonymous, I cant check my balance like with a bitcoin paper wallet. I know that you can check for any transactions to an address, but what site?

Sorry for being repetitive.

You absolutely have to launch the printer by the window after the printing.

No, just kidding. Itīs enought if you just burn it  Grin

Srsly, I didnīt catched that point either, but Im sure some folk here can tell us about the printer issue
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 24, 2016, 01:23:00 AM
At the moment, thereīs +137K moneros for lend. Yesterday, the first time we breached .0085 there were only 12k for lend. We were really close to another short squeeze (and watching the rates, there was one bigger and maybe two smallers).

Most shorters did a great job. Grin.

I guess this is just a taste of whatīs coming. Short time maybe we restest .0065, who knows, but mid-long time, in absence of some cataclism like Polo been hacked, we are going direct to the Tannhauser door
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 22, 2016, 09:52:12 PM
Nearly all the moneros are in shorts. The amount of remaining fuel is astounding
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 22, 2016, 07:59:44 AM
Shorts blowing up?
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 21, 2016, 05:10:52 PM
Alphabay/Oasis is like the perfect, organic PR campaign we were discussing a few pages ago, descending from heavens, packet and ready to go.

It just blows out of the water Amanda B Johnsonīs idea.

As this info spreads and solidifies, expect the supply to dry as the desert of atacama.

We're at $2.46 ... can we please not talk about $1000?

The most likely scenario is that XMR will fail.

How?

It looks to me like there will be a replacement as the development progress has slowed to a crawl. Not to mention Diffie-Hellman elliptic Curve25519 is considered not safe.

Should I continue?

You should continue... we are not cryptographers. Are you saying that they have a backdoor to XMR?. Is this curve reemplazable in a common hard fork?

Probably the most likely scenario would be better technology replacing XMR, or simply something like zcash that is better marketed and becomes mass adopted while XMR stagnates into nothing.

At the moment Zcash is mostly hot air with some serious design flaws.

The problem is the XMR community boiling in bullishness. The fall could be near
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 19, 2016, 10:42:06 PM

Social media such as Youtube is definetely the way to attract the large masses, perhaps also traditional blogs as well (from the blogs more sophisticated people are attracted because those people tend to love reading).

If you think about it, though, who are going to be the people who are watching/reading that stuff in the first place? It's only going to be a very small percentage of people who are currently paying attention or are interested in cryptocurrencies in the first place which is an even smaller percentage in regards to the human population.  The people who watch that have probably already have gotten wind of Monero in some form and if they haven't gotten into Monero then, they probably won't get in now if some random guy, who doesn't have that much influence to begin with, says some nice words about Monero.

Especially not 200 xmr or ~400 usd; but I mean everyone is free to do what they want with their money, but I for one won't be contributing to such things when we could be helping fund our devs for other stuff to be done/help support their salaries, which is already below what is normal for the skill set they bring to the table.

I think you are right. Devs deserve more. I also think that the PR strategy is a win/win situation for hodlers, devs and newcomers. Developing both ideas, or more, I think, is the way to go. Later, everyone would fund (or not) the most resonating projects for everyone. This way we are giving oportunities to act and grow

If those AdWords estimates hold up, for 50 XMR per diem, burning 4 intro accounts daily we would get 200,000 hits on we.use.cash, and 6,000,000 people each day being exposed to Monero as private secure and fungible.  I think that might shake things up a bit.  Need a few weeks of GUI burn-in first, though.

To me sounds great

Thrash needs advertising, gold doesn't - it just needs to be discovered and the army of gold diggers will follow.
Monero has excellent web wallet for almost two years and it doesn't even have a faucet, yet most people on this thread are acting like vacuum cleaner salesman. Instead of spreading awareness (faucets, blogs, etc ...) they are following the DASHoles way (even suggesting to use same PR as them), whats next - worshiping the holy vending machine or dragging in your friends & family to build a bigger ponzi pyramid?
If you really love your Monero bag then there's no need for aggressive advertising campaign cos that would mean you only want to get rid of it @higher price possible.
Here's a boner for all of you that think advertising will bring financial freedom to the world:

PS
Just wrote to Faucetbox support asking about possibility of adding Monero, ready to chip in 100XMR to make it real, hope they'll answer soon Cool

True.

Wishful thinking. Get real. Look at Beta/VHS. If you donīt do the 'dirty' job because you are too special and golden to get your hands dirty, youīll lose your lunch
