No XMR transactions reported yesterday on alphabay.
I guess darknet traders just don't care. Junkies are not really the brightest crowd.
I expect to see XMR back at a reasonable price within the next week or two, 0.05 - 0.07 is reasonable taking the current ATH network difficulty into account, everything above is just speculation.
Well this is just wrong I know for a fact there were transactions in XMR on AB yesterday

Yes, that's all good.
But believe me, the sensationalist pieces will follow -- that's not being either pessimistic or contrarian, simply experienced with the print medium. Its the obvious angle for editors to spice up a dry tech/economics story.
In some ways its not a problem, it simply reflects the same rite of passage BTC went through -- and of course it does mean a lot of writers are going to have volte face on how they describe BTC (ie they sold it to the masses as anonymous but hey turns out it isn't).
I wonder if the smart editor would pick a different angle. I mean, what bitcoin went through has been done so many times now. It's really beating a dead horse, and I just wonder if that's a good sell for a news-outlet. If I was an editor that only had page-views / newspaper sales and a happy board in mind, then I*m not even sure I'd choose that whole approach and sell again. But I am giving them too much credit... Smart editors....ha ha ha "If it bleeds, it leads"....similarly sex, crime and drugs get eyeballs. Also, most editors are in thrall to their proprietors' political views/ambitions. This (XMR) is low hanging fruit for rightwing news outlets. Way, way too much credit My point is: a tsunami of these stories is swelling on the horizon but don't worry, in the long run it will be good for XMR. The prevailing tenor of the stories on this are likely to be "We used to think that Bitcoin was the bad money, because crimes, but now we see that it is Monero which is soo much worse" This ends up being good press mentions for both XBT and XMR. I maintain that the main market for XMR in the long run is the multinational corporation and the banks. Those are the biggest crime syndicates there are. The DNM stuff is just a proving ground for the banksters.

20 transactions in a single 2min block ? Unbelievable! /s
Exactly. A year ago that would be unbelievable. Now it happens quite often. And 100 transactiosn is unbelievable. Wonder when 100 transaction per block will be common thing.

Well, I gotta work on Dr. Watsonstein all day, or I would make a nice transaction rate history chart, with short interest rates, lending book size, price and volume series', but maybe one of our neckbeards or bearded-ladies can crack open the basement window for a little while and do it for us? Matplotlib/seaborn recommended, but ggplot2 is fine. C'mon, prove you're NEET and 'l33t, and pass around some hard-core doujin chart porn, maybe get a contract offer from bull bear analytics for it. Did somebody say shit coin?

ya, was thinking the same... could you point me to where I can find that data? I'd also like to overlay it with the same (historical) data from bitcoin's first 2 years... If I can find the data might give it a try in ggplot2... Hell, if I find some time I'll make a Shiny dashboard for it best regards,

I think the sorts of features that allow people to siphon off millions of of coins causing the need for hard forks and legitimizing a forked project are far far more interesting.

Bought 20BTC worth of XMR at 0.0137 last night before going to sleep and just sold em all at 0.0153 for a cool 2 BTC profit This is getting hella predictable Although, I'm not sure if I should have sold yet... the market depth is looking real good right now.... it could be getting ready for a weekend lift off?

Do we have 10-20 people willing to come to the 1st Global Monero Castle Summit?
I think it could be held 4 weeks from now, or some later time.
It's possible to come for 5 days, but the main event would be a weekend one.

I'll continue buying steady and slowly leaving behind my 0.0019 average buy to continue growing my little stack of moneros
